Food was great but the service by Charlotte was absolutely tremendous! I can't recommend how amazing she was with her in depth knowledge of steaks and how amazing she made our evening I would highly recommend Charlotte to anyone.

Had an amazing meal yesterday for early a Mother’s Day. We had the chili prawns for starters, surf & turf, 8 oz sirloin steak and burger mains and New York cheese cakes to finish. The steaks were cooked to perfection and they had such a big selection of gluten free available. Wanted to also thank Pawel our host who was checking on us and made us laugh. Will most definitely visit again.

I had Emily serve our party of 9 and a baby. She was so lovely and nothing we asked for was too much. Lovely place great atmosphere and lovely food overall score is a ten out of ten.

The food was amazing best miller and carter i have been!!! Lynda the woman who served us was absolutely amazing. She was so respectful and kept boundaries i have never seen before. One of the first restaurants i have been too where someone respects me and my fiancee. The whole time she was close to my fiancee and not me. When she had questions she would make sure she wasn't close to me. I felt like she respected us as a couple while maintained the restaurants 5 star review!! Furthermore, she was happy and every time before she left she made sure that we knew to always ask if we have any questions. She made jokes and kept the mood on our table jolly.

We had an amazing dining experience at Miller & Carter, all thanks to our fantastic waitress, Emily! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcome with her warm and friendly personality. She was incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. From Harry and Louise!

Phoebe was lovely. Perfect service. The steak was “the nicest steak I’ve ever had and the chips and calamari were spot on” - Bowie, 8 years old.

The food and service can't be faulted. My rib eye was cooked to perfection and the beef dripping sauce was incredible. 4 stars for the atmosphere, it was constantly extremely loud and we had trouble conversing over the table. However it was a Friday, the restaurant was full and I don't know what could feasibly be done to rectify that. An enjoyable evening and we will visit again...mid week.

Great service from our server Nic steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty the beef dripping good as normal. The dessert was nice slightly too big but can’t complain apparently we were the first to try it and we got a free brownie

A great experience celebrating a friends birthday. Food was 10/10. Fillet steak cooked beautifully. A special shout out to Sophie who looked after us throughout. Honestly, nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond.

We came for my son’s 15th birthday and had the most amazing meal served by Sophie who was absolutely wonderful and super helpful but most importantly happy, smiley and totally lovely. Thank you for such a great experience we will be back again and looking for a table in Sophie’s spot ☺️

First time I have eaten at Miller and Carter and I can honestly say WOW absolutely loved the food and the service was on point. I would definitely recommend this particular one to anyone. I went with my Girlfriend the Bill was about £240 for the 2 of us but was definitely worth every penny. And the staff are very friendly and go that extra mile

Food was shocking tasteless steak cold vege Chips on par with Mac Donald’s had an issue with. Payment due there it issues and as fir front of house staff complete idiot basically it toby carvery steak my dogs eat better over priced fast food

I visit here around 3 or 4 times a year as a treat to myself as I rarely have steak these days as it is expensive everywhere. Miller & Carter is the place to go though if your in the market for a steak dinner. I visited with a friend on a Friday evening and we was served by Ayu who we have been served by before on previous visits and like all the staff she is very friendly and polite. I had a 12oz Sirloin well done with chunky chips, mushrooms to share and dripping sauce and it was really enjoyable. Looking forward to my next visit already :)

We had an absolutely lovely meal this Sunday at Miller and Carter Colchester. We had the Sunday sharing board which was delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the sides were warm and flavourful. Our server Emily S was very attentive, kind, polite and made sure we had everything we needed. I have multiple allergies, and Emily made me feel reassured, adding additional notes for the kitchen. Emily continued to check in on us periodically which was great as it gave us the opportunity to top up our drinks when needed! Thank you so much Emily!

Excellent date night here with my girlfriend, starters and steak was absolutely delicious, had a minor issue with the onion loaf coming out a little cold but the issue was immediately resolved by our lovely server Phoebe! Great experience here as always and the service is always excellent. Would certainly recommend!

My partner came in yesterday and had a fish n chips. He was up all night being sick n had a very upset stomach! He is still being sick at this very moment. Very disappointing considering the extortionate prices! I would not recommend unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for food poisoning

We had a lovely lady serving us today, I think her name was jodie (sorry if i spelt it wrong) she was very welcoming and extremely helpful when it came to my food intolerance. She went out her way to make me feel accommodated to and offered me alternatives to what I couldn't have.. she's amazing!! I had the tomahawk pork with red wine jus and it was absolutely amazing pork was perfect and the red wine jus was out of this world. If we fancy a steak we always visit the Miller and Carter in Stanway, because the experience is always worthy of the trip, despite there being a myriad of restaurants closer. Ayu was a really kind and attentive server and made a fuss of our child, who now won’t stop talking about how lovely she is! We will definitely be back very soon

Great service but the steak was average. And the deep fried onion thing was sickly. Reasonably priced meal.

I took my 5 year old son who has autism and adhd to Stanway Miller and Carter. My son has sensory issues and is quite fussy with food. We were served by Colin. I felt the menu for kids was extremely limited and the only thing my son liked on the menu was garlic bread and carrots with hummus from the starter menu. I asked Colin if it would be possible for them to do him some pasta with grated cheese on the side instead of the mac and cheese. Colin quickly replied with an agitated expression that Mac cheese is already made up and they can’t do that. I responded that every other restaurant I have ever been too accommodated my request. He then went to the kitchen and asked and came back with the same response. So we just ordered the hummus carrots and garlic bread. The way Colin treated me immediately made me feel very uncomfortable and i just wanted to leave at that point. The hummus and carrots arrived. My son said “mummy these carrots are really soft and bendy not like normal carrots” I looked at them and couldn’t believe they had served my son old, dry, bendy out of date carrots … they were disgusting. I asked Colin for them to be replaced and he returned saying that all the carrots they had in the kitchen were like that. I was so disgusted, miller and Carter is not a cheap restaurant; what are they playing at??? There was no alternative but to ask for some ice cream for him, which they advised would be free. I ordered a burger and chips. My chips were dark brown, over crispy and fatty where they have been cooked in old oil. I left all my chips and ate half my burger… I was so upset. I paid the bill £27 for the disgusting food and left as quickly as I could. We will NEVER return.

Always a Good meal with family and friends in Stanway. Staff are always friendly and courteous. Meals are always good portions and well priced. Great atmosphere, clean and welcoming restaurant

We had the roast dinner sharing board and it was lovely. apart from the chicken we couldn't eat that as it was too dry. and not enough gravy to wash it down. And I do think that £33 pounds a head is a bit steep for a roast dinner other than that it was a lovely meal.
