Miller & Carter in Colchester

The worst fillet steak I have ever had! Well it obviously was not fillet as it was so fatty and tough. The manager didn’t know what day it was let alone what was going on in his own restaurant! Will never go back here it was disgusting.

Everything was great until at 21.45 when we was one of the only couples left, I asked what time they closed and the waitress refused to answer. they then started emptying bins beside us and then left 4 bin bags beside our table whilst we was still eating dinner. When i mentioned it to the waitress, her response was “next time ask for a table away from the kitchen” when I said are you kidding me, she responded “well it wasn’t me emptying the bins was it”. Terrible attitude.

We had the 3 course festival menu on New Year’s Eve . The food was delicious . Staff very friendly. Look forward to dining with you soon

Our waitress Ayu was attentive, friendly and very helpful. The evening was a present for Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will return as soon as possible.

Overpriced for a fairly standard menu. Ribs were not cooked very well at all, very tough and hardly any meat. Service felt quite rushed and we seemed like we was constantly trying to be up-sold thorough out the visit.

Ayu our waitress was amazing. Food was delicious and we will definitely be back.

Food was great, waitress was excellent but the food was slow to arrive across all 3 courses. We had a nice table and it as not too much noise.

The decor of the restaurant was lovely which created a wonderful atmosphere, everything including the toilets was very clean and decorated to a high finish which made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Our waiter was extremely polite, friendly and attentive and all the staff had a smile for us which made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented which I think always adds to the meal. Overall it was a wonderful way to spend Xmas day.

Lovely steak lunch at Colchester complete enhanced by Jodie who is one of the best servers we have had in any restaurant in or out of Colchester. She is absolutely lovely and I just wanted to be her best friend by the end of the meal.

Got the Christmas set menu, absolutely delicious with plenty of choices. We were served by Ayu, she was really lovely, asked her so many questions, but she really didn't mind, was extremely helpful and pleasant to talk with. Can definitely recommend the tomato soup, fantastic!

Great food and atmosphere. Very attentive staff - Marius, couldn’t do any more for us. Helped to celebrate my daughter’s birthday too.

Marius is a superb waiter and made our evening special.

Food was lovely, my partner had a sirloin cooked to perfection and I had a ribeye which was also cooked beautifully. Charlotte was wonderfully accommodating and we will definitely be back!

As soon as we stepped into the restaurant we were welcomed by friendly staff and were taken very good care of by our waitress Charlotte. The festive menu offered good choices and the festive cocktails (I tried the Jingle Berry Sour) was rather nice.

The best steakhouse chain by a country mile, this one is the same high standards as all the other M & Cs I've visited. Simply the best of its type. P.S. the non-steak options are just as good, and there's loads of choice of gluten free options. Why wouldn't you go.

The food was delicious, no complaints there, service from the waiter was attentive however he was a little too familiar, to the point where he didn’t even ask us if we wanted the bill, just presented it as he clearly was ready for us to leave even though it wasn’t closing time. Also a female waitress climbed on a vacant table next to us midway through our dinner to dust the the lightshades! Surely a task not suitable during service on a busy Saturday night!

I recently visited Miller & Carter, and let me tell you, Marius made the experience incredible! As someone like me, Josh, who’s always hungry and loves good food in my mouth, I couldn’t have asked for better service. Marius was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our drinks were always topped up and that we were happy with every aspect of our meal. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, guiding us through the different steak options and even suggesting the perfect wine pairings. What truly stood out was Marius's genuine passion for excellent service. He made us feel valued and created a welcoming atmosphere that elevated our evening. The steak, of course, was cooked to perfection, but Marius's exceptional service was the highlight of the visit. If you're heading to Miller & Carter, I highly recommend asking for Marius – he’s a true asset to the team!

Staff are very helpful and kind. The atmosphere was very nice and warm. Food was delicious and would highly recommend.

Still a good place to go to catch up with friends or family. You can hear everyone at your table.

Our food was excellent, although our chips were slightly cold, likely from sitting under the heat lamp from a while. Service was great and our server Ayu was really friendly. The place has a lively yet calm atmosphere but the lighting changed a few times which made me slightly on edge, but that’s just a personal thing. Overall an excellent restaurant.

The stake is okay, a younger member of staff wasn’t to happy because I asked for an extra source (as kids don’t like sharing). we didn’t get the set menu offer and paid more because we didn’t want dessert. But the staff didn’t tell us we couldn’t get the offer if we didn’t get the dessert.
