Miller and Carter in Dartford

About the 5th time I have been here and definitely noticed some changes. This used to be a premium establishment but it feels like they have implemented some notable cost cutting measures. Had drinks in the bar area which wasn’t clean and empty glasses weren’t collected. The men’s toilet floor also very dirty and sticky. The incorrectly laid table was a precursor of the meal to come. Ok this is not a deal breaker but a small white kids size paper napkin and a knife and fork put on the far corner of each table isn’t the sign of a premium restaurant. The very small prawn cocktail starter had zero taste or seasoning. Felt like it was just scooped out of an over chilled supermarket tub, the avocado was mushy and brown in places. T bone was very thin and I doubt the size stated on the menu - and over done. Creamed spinach didn’t even make it to the sides of the dish it was served in, and the chips very very dry almost as if they had been there since lunchtime. The fried onion was also mushy. I would have given it 2 stars but my wife said her fillet was good and the cocktails were also nice. Place just feels tired and not as special as it used to be and doesn’t justify the cost.

We have visited Miller & Carter many times. And its a lucky dip on whether you will get a good steak or not. We went recently and both our steaks Sirloin, were not cooked to our likings. It is supposed to be a Steak House, and it states how you should have your steak cooked. But when we ordered it Medium it came out rare and full of fat !! My husband ordered his Sirloin Well done and it came out medium. He sent his back, so consquently I had to eat alone, until his food was recooked. Not the night we planned.

Would recommend! Food was amazing and service was even better! Fabi was the best!! ❣️

Enjoyed a wonderful family meal for my Son's 21st on 23.04.24 and was served by the lovely Julie Hopkins who was very attentive and checked in on us regularly to make sure we had enough drinks and asked how our food was. Food was delicious. Enjoyed a fabulous couple of hours. Would definitely recommend.

The staff here are excellent. The waiters we had were both so quick and professional. We were a large family table and the food was amazing. Steak cooked exactly as we asked for it to be. Sea bass and salmon were delicious. Everyone raved about the cheesecake and crème brûlée. The place was very clean with a large car park. If I had to be picky I would say the onion loaf was a little soggy.

We really enjoy Miller & Carter. The steak is so good. However, tonight the food wasn't on par with the usual standard we've had before. Mushy onion loaf. Steak had juices on it, which as I had well done I found uncomfortable & had to tissue the juices away. It seemed rushed out - attention to detail a little lacking. Hopefully next time it'll be much better all round.

Everything was brilliant, slight hiccup with sauces we ordered but was corrected quickly and staff apologised. We were served by Aimee all evening and the customer service we received from her could not have been better! Very efficient, accommodating, and Aimee overall made our evening more enjoyable.

Julie was a lovely waitress with a great sense of humour! She made our visit, thank you :)

I am going to highly recommend this restaurant service was spot on food was on point. Finn our restaurant liaison officer was brilliant. He was welcoming and engaging and prompt with our order. The food; we had the butchers block, was lovely and at £75 was good value too as it was a sharing menu we got a good selection of meat. We will return really great place to have a great meal.

Julie is a superb waitress. She catered for our every need and was polite and attentive. She even brought us out our food and when we said thank you she said we were welcome, how amazing is that! And when we were done she juggled the plates as she took them back, amazing entertainment, make sure you tip her well at least £100 per person. I highly recommend this restaurant for its amazing hospitality and Julie!

We went to Dartford for my 30th birthday meal with family, we were a table of 9. Rob was our server and he was brilliant, we had one child with us and he made her feel so welcome and gave her so much attention, she loved it. Rob made our dinning experience extra special, he made sure each one of us had everything we needed and took time talking to each person. He even sang happy birthday and told us jokes!

My wife and myself went for my wife’s birthday. We had a magnificent meal, Chateaubriand Steak,cooked medium rare, and it was gorgeous! We had great service from a very friendly, helpful and efficient waitress called Anneka.They accommodated us on a lovely table as I have limited mobility. Overall we could not have had a better celebratory lunch. Thanks to all.

Food was amazing but our waiter, Robert, surpassed the food by miles! A real asset to the Miller and Carter brand, and the reason I’d return to Miller and Carter repeatedly. His smile and attentiveness was something that is often missing from hospitality. His magic is priceless. He’s a keeper!

The Steaks were great but the chunky chips were soggy and chewy. The onion nest was oily and stale/not crispy.

The food was excellent, but the service was below par, had the one server who seemed to be walking around chatting and not caring about the customers whilst all the other servers were run off of their feet, which was a huge letdown since the food was a 10/10, such a shame.

the food was amazing, we havnt been to a m&c for a couple of years so we had forgotten how good the food was the service however wasnt so good, started off ok but the second round of drinks took some time & we sat with empty plates in front of us for about 20mins before they were taken away and we noticed the table across from us waited so long for their deserts to arrive we decided not to order anything. For the money we pay for the meal we should expect a much better service

Been going to M&C for many years (Bexleyheath before Dartford), always had great food at both, same here (hence the 3 rating). Service was okay, but training of staff (presume that is the issue) is abysmal. When drinks were brought, empty glasses weren't taken away. Some people had three glasses each on tables. When people left, tables weren't cleared. By the end of our evening (approx 9:15pm) we were literally surrounded by five tables piled high with dirty plates and glasses and leftover food - one of which had been there when we arrived (7pm). The food here is sold at premium prices. I don't mind if I'm getting premium quality and service. Not a good look, not a good feel, not a good experience.

Great food, friendly and patient staff (thank you Julie!) We made a split second decision to book and it certainly paid off. All around good service.

Family lunch out, good service from Rob although we had to interrupt bar staff chatting at the bar to get second round of drinks. Food was tasty but dripping gravy sauce has changed! Dont know why as it isn’t an improvement. Would suggest round tables for family groups so no one is left out at the end of the table.

Rob the waiter was absolutely outstanding - if you could mold him and have all waiters like him ,eating at restaurants would be more enjoyable and entertaining 👍apart from that could not fault anything as all food was superb

Every time me and my family come here there is only one word to describe this place. Amazing. The food amazing. Our server was amazing. Her name is Julie she was very attentive. Every time I come here she is my go to server. I would highly recommend coming here.

Main course very disappointing, onion loaf stone cold, asked for mayonnaise, had to ask 3 times, no one came to ask if everything was okay . This was very sad as was an anniversary meal and we had been several times before without any problems Need to step up their game

I arrived very early for an important business lunch, and the premises weren't open yet, so I parked up and waited, I'd learn later an expensive mistake to make. After opening, I found the toilets were very clean and the staff friendly and pleasant. Sadly four things spoiled my first visit to Miller & Carter. Initially, we experienced what appeared to be a failed assassination attempt, when a waiter broke a wine glass right beside my colleague's head. Now accidents can and do happen, but that wasn't the issue, leaving a large amount of broken glass around us for the entirety of our meal, in an area with young children, was bad. For lunch, I opted for the steak and being in a steakhouse one would expect to receive a steak knife, but no, I had to make do with a standard blunt dinner knife. However, to their credit, the medium rare steak was still well prepared and manageable, despite the lack of appropriate cutlery! Then came the desert, Apple Pie is hard to get wrong, but somehow they still managed it, with a lot of stodge and very little apple, I wouldn't recommend it. Finally came the bill, which was initially very reasonable. As we left I picked up the majority of the large broken glass myself, putting the shards in a paper napkin for safe disposal and raised my concern with a different waitress. A few days later I received a second bill in the post, a fine for an additional £100, only reduced to £60 if I don't dispute the charge! This was incurred for parking, despite putting my licence plate in the system on entry as soon as possible. That taught me a lesson about getting there too early! So overall, it was not a great first impression!

Disappointing dining experience - service was very slow and inattentive (15 minutes for a bottle of table water, 45 minutes for two salads), had to wait for 10 minutes for the table despite having a booking and overall quite expensive for what was an average experience. Have had better experiences at other Miller & Carter branches - would not return to this one.

Had an amazing experience came in for an anniversary dinner 1 year with my other half and couldn't of been better, had our meal and Georgia our server, was excellent. Then after our meal went to the bar for drinks and had the best 2 servers Matt and Chloe, they were very knowledgeable about the drinks and made us feel so welcome, would definitely come back and will recommend to my friends and family

I can honestly say we all had such a wonderful time. The food was first class, our waiter Robert was extremely attentive and the atmosphere was the best. Thank you for a lovely evening. We most definitely will be back again soon!

We arrived today for lunch and was surprised how busy the restaurant was. We were seated and served by Elizabeth who was great. Another great lunch @ Miller & Carter, reasonably price with a wide choice of drinks including a special request for coffee, which was efficiently achieved by the barista 👏🏻 The service is always really good. Our waitress Elizabeth was brilliant- really friendly, good knowledge of the food and never made us feel rushed. As always we will be back again.

The service was bad, in terms of delays, we waited 30 mins for our table, which we had pre-booked and spent £40 on a deposit. No explanation was given.

I’ve been coming to different miller & carters for years. But this is the first time we have come here as a family. We have two young boys aged 4 and 6. Unfortunately both kids have nut allergies. This is always a worry for us as parents and can tell instantly how well and seriously the restaurant and staff take this. On this occasion I was blown away with the service. Everything was checked and double checked. The food as always was fantastic as was the service. Knowing that the allergy side of things is taken as seriously as how well the food is cooked will insure the we will return.

Our amazing server Natasha was super attentive and friendly! The level of service we received was simply unparalleled. No request was too much, no question too demanding - Natasha would be as equally suited to Buckingham Palace as she is to Miller & Carter. In a word, sublime.

Come for a Mothers Day meal on Saturday night where we received outstanding service from one of the Assistant managers Jack Pearson. He was very attentive and was happy to go the extra mile to make sure our Mothers Day meal was perfect. Thank you once again Jack you are an asset to the team.

The steak and fries was not warm enough, waiter had to collect and heat it up, the butter didn't even melt on the meat, the same happened on the last visit, not impressed...

Rob was incredible. Turned an week day meal into an experience. Don't get me wrong the food was great but Its rare that you go to a resturant and the food is not the best part but the waiter is.

Just returned home after eating at millers Dartford. Splendid ! Gail our waitress was marvellous.. she even decorated our table as it is St David's day (and she found out my fellow dinner was Welsh). Definitely go back there and hopefully be served by gail.
