Millefeuille in Oxford

I ordered the chocolate cake online. It had a nice light sponge with a generous amount of icing/mirror glaze and selection of berries on top. Very reasonable price too. Would definitely order again

The range of pastries displayed was extremely impressive, but I didn't get to try any. The website seemed to indicate that meals were possible there. I went there for afternoon tea. Although the sign inside said "Cafe and Patisserie", no tables were visible and when I asked where the café was, the assistant, who spoke very limited English, pointed to the coffee machine. Very disappointing.

Just not worth the money in my opinion. It all looked really lovey but when we’d paid it wasn’t worth the money.

I tried the classic French millefeuilles and I was not disappointed, it was very tasty exactly the same as you could eat it in France. Amazing!!

Absolutely awesome. The staff and owners are supremely friendly and the cakes are exceptional. They are very well priced.

The cakes are mediocre,look great but all taste the same.the customer service is absolutely appalling! Considering I was buying a lot he really couldn’t have cared less,it felt like I was inconveniencing him.I was asking him what flavours he had and he couldn’t even be bothered to explain.he then put all my little cakes into one giant box without any separation,luckily they didn’t get too stuck together.I would avoid in the future

I ordered a birthday cake for my boyfriend over the phone from London having found the bakery online. I ordered a cake for six people, a classic sponge, and paid £20. I collected the following week and was very impressed with the look of the cake and the size! We got 12 portions out of it. It was really light, so delicious. Thank you.

I have never written a bad review before but my experience was so awful I had to warn others not to purchase from this shop. I also purchased from the Too Good to Go app which they have now stopped using because apparently they receive a lot of 'very stupid' customers who don't understand the app (the manager told me this after I complained about my experience). The man in the shop was extremely unfriendly (no greeting or smile, had arms folded and was standoffish when I entered the shop); tried not to serve me because of an issue on the app I was using after I had already paid, took my phone without asking and started touching it (during a pandemic! I was wearing a mask - he was not wearing a mask or gloves). I felt very unwelcome the entire time and then to top it all off the cakes were ridiculously overpriced. I received 2 like other reviewers, despite it being the end of the day and there being about 30 unsold cakes left in the window. Apparently, the (very average) cakes are £3.50 each - for something that has clearly been premade and defrosted! When I let the store know that I'd had an uncomfortable experience, they told me it was my fault and that they did not need to improve customer service (whilst also calling their customers stupid - see above). I pointed out that the point of the app is to prevent food waste, and the bags are supposed to help the customers and the store by selling food cheaply that was about to be thrown away - and the manager replied boasting that they've never had to throw any cakes away, because they leave them out for 3 days! Don't buy - clearly old, unfresh cakes that aren't very nice to begin with and you will be made to feel like your business is an inconvenience to them. Very disappointed as I was excited to try this place out.

I thought about ordering a cake but the man in the shop was so abrupt and rude I didn't bother. The cakes may be brilliant but if they can't treat customers with friendliness and respect, they shouldn't bother. If you are on Cowley Road you will get a wide range of people coming in. You need to show good customer service so people can enjoy your cakes!

I agree with the other review relating to the too good to go app. I also used the app. I brought three bags at £2 each. I received 6 items, meaning I paid £1 per cake for items that they would have thrown away! I don’t think they understand how the app works. Poor variety of cakes. Poor customer service too. Also the response the the earlier review shows how unprofessional they are.

Got another Birthday cake from here and it was amazing. Tasted so good and looked perfect!! Would highly recommend

We have frequently shopped for delicious pastries here, but for a recent birthday party with more that 50 guests they supplied three fabulous birthday cakes, Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla. They were the hit of the party! Great bakery!

The store participates in the Too Goo To Go app, which helps stores to reduce food waste at the end of the day and enables customers to try out food at discouned price. This store takes advantage of the system and basically sells their old cakes at normal price instead. It's a shame that this practice still going on since the last similar review. One has to wonder with this short term thinking, what else they would cut during the baking process to maximise revenue? As for the cake, it's average at best.

Received a cake from here for my birthday and it was really fresh and tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend.

They are cheating with the ToGoodToGo app. They claim the app is cheating them, so for 6 GBP in the app, they can only give cakes for 6 GBP. So the discount on the ToGoodToGo is 0%, and they charge full price for day old cakes, that should have been discounted – its kind of the principle in the ToGoodToGo, but they understand it, as someone is cheating them, and that is not their fault ……

A by chance visit impressed this global cake seeking couple. Delicious freshly made cakes made on the premises. Excellent service.

Ordered a birthday cake on the 13th of Feb to collect on 17th only to find the wrong cake waiting and staff never tried to help as they said the guy responsible was not around. Never wish to go back there again.

Great place to have a coffee with some pastries. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere surrounded by photos from Paris. They also have North Africa pastries but I haven't tried them yet.

I love their creme patisserie, so any desserts like their fruit tarts, or their millefeuilles are my favorites (especially the Pistachio topped millefeuile)

Absolutamente no competente propietario y equipo. Nunca me entra en esta tienda todos los sangrientos de nuevo! Es la primera vez y una última. Espero esta tienda le código enseguida! Tarta de cumpleaños para un pedido hace dos días, supuestamente para recoger mi pastel el domingo. Llegaron el domingo para recogerla y el chico que aparentemente trabajaba allí sólo un día dijo que no sé nada, ni tarta, propietario no coja el teléfono me puede dar su dinero. Después de tantos argumentos con él, finalmente logramos llamar propietario y dijo mi pastel estará listo en 30 minutos. Toma 30 minutos hornear un pastel fresco? Después de que su amigo me vino y empezar explicando que es una tienda tienda argelina no inglés y derechos al cliente no funciona aquí. 2 chicos gritando y habla conmigo como con humanos. Yo me. Después de 15 minutos volver y ver una imagen de un propietario sentarse en una mitad de la cocina tratando de poner un poco de crema" mi pastel" de algunos signos de cubo sin higiene. Y YO pagamos por este pastel de 35 libras. Después me vi dueño dijo hola es una vez está bien, y me dijo que no me de tiempo no está mal, con un servicio de atención al cliente. Y el dueño respondió que no pedimos que son bien, pedí es un tiempo está bien. Realmente? Después de un servicio de atención al cliente que se atreve a hablar como este? Él dijo que el chef conseguir enfermo por tarta no estaba lista, pregunté por qué no me llamaron para avisarme, su respuesta fue ¿por qué llamar? Y este es un derecho forma de hablar con una mujer. 3 grandes chicos stand en la tienda y cada tratando de demostrar cómo estoy equivocado después pague mi tarta antes y esperaba conseguir una gran tarta para un cumpleaños. Argelia o China o cualquier otra cosa que debe tener el respeto y el conocimiento de cómo tratar un problema al cliente!

Este es un café justo al lado de Nando's y es mi costumbre parada posteriormente con la familia. Sus macarons son fenomenales y el diseño general es muy bonito y francés! Los precios eran normales y no demasiado caro y normalmente está abierto hasta tarde en la noche. Los sabores disponibles son geniales y macarons en cada uno es único en su propio camino. El servicio de atención al cliente es buena y el ritmo general son buenos!

Me paré aquí por casualidad con mi esposa y dos niños pequeños para café y tarta. Todas las tartas parecía increíble. Mi esposa tenía la tarta de oreo, mi hija el rollo de frambuesa suiza y tuve la fresa. Todos sabor delicioso (especialmente la tarta) y yo estaba tentado por muchos de los otros pasteles en oferta! El café era muy bueno también.

Visité este pastelería a finales de Noviembre, y aunque las tartas de aspecto agradable. Yo estaba horrorizado por la actitud de la persona que trabaja allí.

Its always a good idea to stop there for a take away dessert either for yourself or to take with you when visiting guests. They look presentable and they taste good as well. Many different selections and flavours to choose from.

He probado muchos sitios en el pasado, pero este lugar es el mejor, me habla a mi mejor amigo que es de Argelia así durante el ramadán visité una noche y mi amigo que pasar el rato allí, así que me trató de oreo y una mousse macarrón con una taza de té. He estado yendo a este lugar cada semana desde entonces, compré tartas, mousse, pasteles y galletas. Hacen el mejor Mille hoja le blanc, mejor que otros y todos estos maison sitios pastelería en Oxford.

Nuestra hija es un macarron adicto y este es el mejor lugar para comprar en Oxford. Gran relación calidad-precio y excelente sabor, con una buena selección, todos hechos en las premisas.

Nunca nos dimos cuenta de que este lugar fue abierto por la noche, hasta 2300 los viernes. Tenía selva negra gateaux que estaba perfectamente dulce y ligera como el aire. Hay unos pocos asientos cafetería y perfectamente situado en la calle cowley.

I order in millefeuille a birthday cake...was a nice cake just supposed to be a praline false and it wasn't t really taste pralin more biscuit flavour..I don t know if I massed up to explain or they didn t understand cause was hard order a cake with no flavour choice.but was well made and tasty.not Pricy at ally

There is an astonishing array of homemade cakes and pastries on offer at this little cafe, I stopped in here for a coffee and cake and wished I could have had more! Had a delicious swiss roll, with layers of sponge, custard and fruit. Looked good in the window and tasted good as well! To drink was a cappuccino with an extra shot which had a nice taste and aroma.I wish I had a fast metabolism and could just eat endless cake from places like this...

Really yummy cakes - not pricey, good coffee and nice staff - free wifi too! I really liked this cafe! Only wish the cheesecakes were labelled but maybe I just didn't see the labels from where I was. Really want to come again, would recommend to anyone (except maybe the lactose intolerant :P)

First visit & we will be going back. Good coffee, gorgeous cakes & bought a takeaway box full of Algerian pastries (similar to baklava, but more refined) & macarons... All delicious!

I have to admit I tend to leave ordering cakes to the last minute when there is a family event, however, despite my tardiness a quick phone call to the team enables me to check stock and choose from the many options they have for the day and add any custom message to the cake of my choice. Thank you very much guys. You're cakes are amazing!!

Very freidly invoiting environment, great customer service and the cakes are serioulsy delicious, so many to try that I am going to have to make it a weekly treat! :)

Den tørreste nøddekage jeg nogensinde har fået, ganske enkelt uspiselig. Samme kage bliver også solgt i Beetroot længere nede af gaden, måske den er bedre der?

I can't walk by this shop without buying something sweet. The proprietors are very nice and helpful. Beautifully prepared and delicious.

My friend and I spent a Saturday morning walking through Oxford. We passed by this little coffee shop and patisserie. I was drawn in by the tempting display and the offer of coffee and cake for £3.80. I had the fruit tart- amazing crem pat and lovely generous fruit topping.The patisserie does cakes for parties and take-away. I bought my husband some Middle Eastern bakes- rose water and pistachios feature. He loved them.It's a lovely unpretentious Algerian French patisserie- fusion of some great flavours. The coffee was good and service was polite, relaxed and fun.

We stopped here for a coffee and dessert. They have a lot of authentic french pastries and other arabic ones as well. I tried a semolina type ckae which was excellent and my friends enjoyed their choices as well. Will definitely go back.

A very cute and warm café located on Cowley road, our diets were left outside the door the moment we walked in :), the cake display is so inviting and the premises very clean! We were served with a smile and left feeling very pleased. My husband's birthday is coming up so am going to place a cake order with them. Two thumbs up for Millefeuille

For friendly and humorous service, and the most delicious cakes, tarts, pastries and baklava, look no further than Millefeuille on Cowley Road, Oxford. Just before 11pm last night we were in desperate need of good coffee and a pick-me-up to combat the cold and fog, and their window display of cakes and tarts beckoned us in; although I suspect they were seconds from closing they cheerfully made lovely fresh hot coffee and we took far too long to refine our choice of tarts (1 each of a tarte aux pommes and a tarte aux amandes), plus a small selection of baklava heaven. All these beautiful desserts are made on the premises and if you don't rush there and eat the almond paste baklava with a cherry on top you will have missed something truly sublime.
