Lovely friendly staff, especially Jacob and Shabs, always smiling. Whilst standing at the bar waiting to be served, I overheard a rude gentleman speaking disrespectfully to the staff, when they were all working really hard Had a few drinks whilst sheltering from the rain.

Fantastic food, atmosphere, and service. Everything was a good price. Nice girl behind the bar. She seemed genuinely friendly, which makes a nice change.

Always very welcoming and family friendly. We visit regularly and enjoying coming following our weekly shop, and occasionally a family meal. Jacob the barman is very welcoming and friendly, excellent staff member, and makes a great cappuccino!

Arrived at around 3:50pm and got asked if we’d booked, understandable! But, then got told there would be a 45 minute wait on food due to chef breaks. Definitely understandable in this case. We did not mind waiting 45 minutes as we had a baby with us who needing feeding and we were still able to grab drinks. After grabbing a table we looked through the menu and decided to place an order in advance. However, a woman at the till told us there would be an 1hour & 30 minutes before we could even place an order and then we’d obviously have to wait longer to receive it! what a waste of our time!!!! It’s not exactly difficult to stick something in a microwave or frier! I knew exactly what food standard I was receiving when I got here but a smile is what the staff needed! They looked miserable. If you aren’t capable of decent customer service, don’t bother going into the industry at all! There are no benefits to this place whatsoever.

The pub was busy, it appeared short staffed with lots of families, and children running around, not ideal possible accidents with hot food being carried around, but not ideal for clients without children. My main issue is the pub was filthy, tables tacky and unclean, spilt food on the floor from previous customers. We had to search for a clean menus. No soap in the ladies toilets, (this is a big issue) I did say to the bar staff, but didn't stay long enough to see if this had been refilled. Food - I had steak & ale pie, very heavy, 75% pastry. This is the only pub in the vicinity with a nice outside space, so could do so well, but needs to clean up it's act in all respects. I'm currently at home instead of doing my normal routine as I started with a stomach bug 24 hours after visiting here, I'm not blaming here, but it's deffinatly a possibility due to how many women and children were unable to wash their hands effectively with soap?

After a 40 minute wait for food, it was very dissappointing. Myself and my friend had the Chick N Mix, however both the strips & the wings were cooked in burnt oil that looked like it hadn't been changed recently. My chips were similar and hard in the middle. I have given 3 stars as the staff were friendly and polite, happy to rectify the issue and apologised. However, food was not up to standards

Great service again. One of my favourite places to go to. Shabs and Jacob really stood out. Nothing was too much trouble & the food was great. New menu is so good!

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon. The pub was quite busy. We were a fairly large group and asked staff to clear one of their bigger tables so that we could sit together. They did this immediately. A couple of us wanted a V/Ve meal which was not available so we asked if we could choose a starter and various side dishes to be served at the same time as the other members of our group were receiving their main course. The staff happily obliged and so we were all able to eat at the same time.

Found this place by accident as all named eateries were exceptionally busy. Bar staff miserable, no friendly greeting and the one female yawning and really not engaging. I went for the chicken and rib combo which comes with fries, corn on the cob and coleslaw. Fries were lukewarm, coleslaw nothing special, corn lukewarm and most of the skin on the chicken was black and burnt. Don't think I will be coming here again

Had Sunday lunch which was served luke warm, nearly raw carrots, Yorkshires like cardboard, turkey was from a chopped and shaped joint and was very dry, a bit like leather, all the food seemed to be frozen and not freshly prepared, not enjoyable at all, would not recommend I’m afraid.

I took my family here for my granddaughters birthday. We had to wait half an hour for the food. I was very disappointed at the lack of knowledge by the barman who was able to tell me if Yorkshire pudding was included with the roast dinner. He spoke to a woman who I think was the manager who seemed to ignore him. The food itself was small portions. The beef was like leather and the whole meal was not very good. Other meals were the same and not of a good standard. I doubt a proper chef was involved.

We come here quite often but tonight they were very short staffed. The only 2 members of staff went out their way to still accommodate everything! Couldn't fault the food or hospitality!

Myself and my wife had baked jacket potatoes both cold I took mine back and they changed it for a hot one. My daughter ordered chicken wings thinking they would come with fries but just a small camping style pan with undercooked wings blood inside very poor quality meals

Went here with my wife after doing some retail therapy. I ordered the all american chicken burger and my wife had the vegetarian/vegan option, beyond burger. Both were cooked perfectly arrived at our table nice and hot, well presented and it was also a decent portion too for the price. I would highly recommend coming here for a meal, my wife and I thought the customer service was great as well

Won't be returning again, they weren't busy but managed to ruin my meal. Ordered the mixed grill asked for a steak well done and it arrived pink still but the best bit was the sausage that arrived was so solid/over cooked I couldn't eat it or put a fork in it, basically looks like they got it confused with the steak as I didn't request a well done sausage. Shame as we have had some nice food here too. I was asked how my food was and I mentioned my disappointment but nothing was said.

Very impressed with food and service. Guy serving us...Jacob...was so lovely and smiley....very helpful too. Food arrived very quickly and was spot on...in appearance and taste....we had 1. gammon and 2. crispy chicken strips. With cokes cost us £20....bargain! Will go again for sure. Have been many times before....and never had a bad meal or experience. THANKYOU

Went to the Millhouse for Sunday lunch last week with 6 other family members, two of which are young children. The food and service was absolutely wonderful, the kids meals were great too! Well we have definitely eaten our last ever meal at this awful place. Went on Sunday all 5 of us. ordered Sunday lunches which costs nearly £10, should have gone to iceland for a frozen ready meal as everything on the plate was frozen food. The meat must have come from a tin it was like elastic and full of grizzle. I could not find a member of staff to complain as there was only one working the bar and serving. The management should take these reviews and sack the person who is calling him/herself chef. We have been regulars at the Mill for a few yrs and this is the very worst meal we have ever had and we noticed other tables leaving food on their plates. Get a proper chef/cook in for god's sake as we deeply regret spending money here on Sunday. We should have taken the kids to Mc Donald's as the food would have been better. Will not be back here unless i hear they have hired a proper person to make proper fresh food and not frozen.

The only waiters were the customers. After 1hr asked for my money back then walked out. Not nice watching people who came in after us receiving their orders ,even after going to the bar twice asking when are food was going to be served and told it was coming in a couple of minutes.We waited and waited I’m sure if we hadn’t have walked out we would still be waiting there now..To many good hotels and restaurants in the area to except that kind of service or should I say lack of it.

I think that all cooks (can’t call them chefs ) in my opinion. Should go back and learn how to cook and present. Awful experience have stopped going for pub grub after this. Nothing was cooked or presented properly no taste, as I say a dire meal. The french are right to laugh at British cooking. Absolute rubbish and expensive.

Pleasant surrounding's. Waited for food quite sometime, but when food arrived was very tasty. Hubby had double burger & chip's & I had salmon fajitas. Washed down with a beer & wine. Good choice after a bit of retail shopping. ☺️

i was sat on a table with 12 other people we all ordered seperate many mistakes on orders wrong food cold food not the full order long waits over 40 mins pub was only half full not enough staff taking orders had to stand in a long que for 20 minutes and very rude staff when asked for any help will not be in a rush to go back

Decided to do some last minute shopping in broughton, came to the Mill house for a quick bite to eat before heading home, we ordered food no problem whatsoever barmaid was very friendly so no issues there, as we sat down to wait for our starters we realised we’d been sat there for 20 minutes and people who had arrived after us had received their food, the waiter came & told us the printer had broke so they hadn’t even started our starters, he then asked if we wanted our starters and mains all together which we decided no on, after that he brought our starters about 5 minutes later, starters were very nice which was great, when we got our mains i had the yorkie wrap which was so salty it was inedible, my partner had gammon and chips as they had no eggs, there’s a tesco across the road so why hadn’t anyone gone out for some? waiter came over and asked if everything was ok but i just said yes as we’d been there near enough an hour already but the mains weren’t great at all, i guess i should’ve mentioned it then but to be honest i just wanted to leave at this point, also i think our food had been left under a heat lamp for some time as my wrap was rock solid.

Visited as we were passing, the food and service were fantastic. The team were really friendly especially with our children. If we are ever visiting this area again we will be back!

After meeting family for a spot of lunch we ordered at the same and yet meals came out at different times asked at point of ordering for a Hunter chicken wrap no BQ sauce and no lettuce both on the wrap not happy at all and won't be returning awful!!!!!!!!!

We visited here today, we had 2 drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains, a starter and main from the child's menu, total cost a bargain at £26.

7.30pm booked online, walked through the door to find a nasty dirty pub! Bar choc o block with dirty plates & glasses. Tried to find a clean table, not possible. Empty tables hadn’t been cleared or cleaned, food around the floor on empty tables. Went to speak with the manager, but she was knee deep serving customers.

After spending the morning shopping we decided to treat ourselves to lunch here and we are still waiting for it!! We arrived at 12:15 and at 14:15 we walked out after asking for a refund because our meal had not landed. There was 3 of us and we had ordered 1 mixes starter which was dire, garlic bread was like a rock and the rest was inedible. Our friends main meal turned up at 14:00, gammon and eggs and chips but the eggs were raw!! So that went back with the cancellation of all our meals, no apology no nothing. Will never go back and very disappointed in the service and attitude.

Came here after a day shopping in Broughton due to having a good experience here around 2 years ago. It became clear quickly that the restaurant has changed a lot since then. We ordered our food at 2pm and waited 30 minutes before asking a member of staff where our food was. They then brought the starter out a few minutes later, with no apology. 20 minutes go by and we have been finished with our staters for a long time which we made obvious by putting them in a stacked pile at the end of the table, clearly visible to staff. We then went to ask where our mains were, we were met with ‘we’ll have to call it in’ which implied that they hadn’t even begun making our main meal after 50 minutes since ordering. We finally received our food at 3.30 a whole ONE HOUR AND A HALF since ordering! There had been people that sat down way after us that had already eaten and left. Absolutely unacceptable! I myself work in one of North Wales’ busiest cafes and this would never of happened there, the most anyone waits is 20 minutes and that’s on a very rare occasion. Later one of the waitresses brought us 5 onion rings and mumbled ‘here’s some onion rings as apology.’ Other than that we received no apology from any of the staff we spoke to regarding our food being extremely late. The food itself once it finally arrived was bland and the pie was obviously reheated. Avoid!

Very poor experience had at the Mill House, service initially at the bar great and very accommodating , I ordered a gammon and chips and my parter 2 poached eggs, brown toast and tomatoes. When the food came, the gammon was ok (what I would expect for such a restaurant chain) but the poached eggs were soooo overdone and the toast burnt (and they forgot the tomato). A waiter did ask if everything was ok with our meals, which we pointed out what we were unhappy with and he said he will speak to the chef, on which point we never saw the waiter or another member of staff again! To top if off the hot drinks machine wasn’t working so they couldn’t even supply hot water for a cup of tea. Very poor. Below pic shows the standard of quality the chef managed to turn out thinking acceptable to send out to a paying customer.

Came here today with my boyfriend for some lunch and I was absolutely disgusted. When we got there it was fairly busy and it was a half an hour wait which we really didn’t mind as we’d heard great reviews. We ordered a fish goujons sandwich with chips and salad, a gormet burger and a nachos to share. After waiting 50 minutes we asked at the bar how long our order would be as it was way past the half an hour wait we were told before hand, to be told it was coming in five minutes. The staff member didn’t apologise which made us rather annoyed. After a further ten minutes the nachos came out but no other food was in sight. We asked the waitress who told us she’d tell the kitchen to hurry up with the rest and slammed the nachos down on the table. Again there was no apology. I was absolutely disgusted with the nachos (picture shown below) as they looked as if they had been half eaten and not presentable whatsoever. We also asked for no jalapeños but in the end we scraped them off as we didn’t want to wait again for a further hour! So we just tried to eat them as at this point we were starving. After another ten minutes the food finally came. The waitress took the nachos away even though we hadn’t finished eating them which made us even more annoyed, however we couldn’t bare to eat any more anyway so it wasn’t much of a loss. The chips were freezing cold and hard, the fish tasted off and my boyfriends burger was burnt and also cold. We were at this point absolutely gobsmacked and left the premesis as there was no management or many staff to be seen.
