Fantastic food very friendly staff

Ideal for families..service is super quick, you can even order and pay on the app which is convenient...relaxed atmosphere, and the food is great..lots of choice on the menu. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Well, just myself and my wife went for lunch on Saturday . Impressed by the menu, reasonably priced. OK good start, then it went downhill. Bar service was poor, girls not taking notice who was next in the que. Went back to the bar to order food, bar service was even worse, 1 girl serving and 2 making coffee and chatting. Food arrived, most of it was cold, wife's steak should have Been medium rare, but was cremated on 1 side and tasted so. Both meals chips undercooked and peas was poor quality. When we try a new pub or referbed, I always have a mixed grill "good cross section of food". My steak was burnt, chicken so try could hardly cut it, gammon was nice, but overall... the worst mixed grill I've ever had anywhere. Ontop of all this, no-one came to the table to ask if everything was OK with the meal. Should not have to complain as food should be perfect first time no exceptions. Will not be returning or recommending poor, poor, very poor

Very slow food service ordered off. Overall food was good staff friendly ferry helpful. My second time coming back excellent experience food was lovely and the third bit was nice .

Absolutely delicious. Hot and fresh sharing platter for 2. Packed with chicken which was moist, ribs were tasty but the star of the show was the slow cooked beef rib ... OMG that's amazing! We'll definitely come back next time we're in the area and would highly recommend it. Great friendly team, easy ordering and good atmosphere. Excellent value for money and lots of regular deals. On invitation, we attended the exciting preview for local neighbours at the newly revamped Mill House, Flaming Grill. We were greeted by the manager and looked after by attentive staff. Our server provided us with a plate of mixed delights to eat whilst we relaxed over a drink. Georgie was so friendly and welcoming making our visit delightful. The Mill House pub decor is a vast improvement on what it looked like before the renovations. It's now fresh and comfortable and an absolute pleasure to relax there with large tvs scattered around, and pleasant music playing in the background over the tannoy system. There has been a lot of thought and love invested in this revamp. Whilst the established flaming grill menu wasn't available to us this evening we saw that reassuringly it remains unchanged therefore we have no doubt that our favourite sizzling choice which has always been spot on, will remain excellent value. We will certainty be returning to dine as the atmosphere and environment means our 'new' local is our go to for a teatime treat or cheeky drink.

Went around lunchtime, food was great atmosphere was lovely and Casey our server was fantastic

Food was decent but the place felt a bit dirty. Service was mediocre. Had to chase up our food. No coke on draft but was happy to sell an overpriced bottle of coke in its place.

Called in Friday service was excellent especially Shea who went the extra mile serving our food and brining our drinks generally making sure we were happy. Food tasty and hubby really enjiyed his apple pie. Well done we will be back.

Honestly some of the nice staff working here, had an amazing time. I have been here many of times and will be plenty more. They have some lovely chefs who can cook some absolutely wonderful food. I would definitely recommend for a family or just a drink out with friends the place is amazing.

We met family here for food on a Sunday lunchtime. The service was quick and friendly. We used the Greene King App to order and pay which was very easy. The food was lovely, fresh, hot and tasty. All six of us enjoyed our meals. We stayed a while after our meals to chat. We enjoyed the coffee too. A great place to eat and drink. We'll definitely visit again.

We first came here in September 2024, initially experienced problems with booking but the manager called us and offered a voucher for the inconvenience. We decided go give it another shot and I’m happy we did. It’s a pub with all sorts of people inside. Families, workers, couples etc. It has a great exterior and very good sports section. The food was not to disappoint, absolutely fantastic. Very happy we decided to give it another try after our first experience. We have been here a few times since September and have not been disappointed since.

Basic no frilly pub, popular with the locals and staff quite friendly.

Nice pub on the Broughton shopping centre. Ideal for a break from shopping. Good food and service. It is getting a refurbished shortly, so should be better still.

Called Thursday afternoon. Worst meal we have had in the last 20 years, chips no taste ( old freezer stock ) wine revolting. Will never return both meals gastly. Dont usualy bother reviewing, easily pleased, but, something wrong on this day.

Had a lovely meal with friends today. Great value with the bogof offer at the minute. Food was really good . Staff were very friendly. G was out server and couldn't do enough for us. Friendly and had a very cheerful manner . We definitely be returning

Always enjoy our service from here and great food and atmosphere. The staff are great, particularly Shab who always offers a warm welcome and remembers mine and my husbands regular order. Always looking forward to our next visit.

This place has a lovely, quiet atmosphere somewhere to enjoy your food and have conversation. If you like background music, you won't get to here as we were with hearing aid wearers we prefer not to have background music when in a group so they can hear us chatting and join in with the conversation. The food is really tasty, too, with good portions sizes. A little more costly than your local pub, but the extra pound or to is well worth the quality of the food. I have reduced the stars only because of the speed of service we received, and due to our server not knowing the menu herself when asked questions about the dishes on their menu. The speed of service was very slow it took over 2 hours to be served, 1 main course, and a coffee. We were not able to stay any longer due to needing to pick children up from school.

Had a great experience at The Mill House! The service was friendly, the pie was fantastic, and Shabs made it even better with great service. Highly recommend!

Christmas day, dinner.. 4 course's... extra gravy... lovely staff and perfect service Couldn't recommend enough

Booked for Christmas dinner and unfortunately this is normally a favourite place of ours to eat however this was terrible, we arrived to be kept waiting to be seated for 20 minutes, once seated we were crammed into a corner where we had to keep moving to let people in and out , there was furniture being moved around as we were eating, starters came out wrong then once correct they were cold and tasteless, the main Christmas dinner looked like a overpriced microwave meal , vegetables were far too hard to cut let alone eat , dinner dry as the so called jug of gravy turned out to be a small dipping pot of gravy , pigs in blankets had no bacon on them . No drink included with meal , all the crackers had the same contents and jokes on them . Staff were forgetting to clear table between courses and the desert was the only thing that was nice and edible however it looked like a toddler size portion. So £300 down and we left hungry and disappointed. Staff looked miserable and looking like it was too much to ask for a warm friendly service that was extremely lacking. Ruined our Christmas dinner and my daughters birthday especially since it was our first ever experience of dining out on Christmas day .

I only knock it down one. They let dogs in. I have nothing against dogs. But having them in pubs and shops nope. A guide dog yes. But just not any dog.

First time visiting and won't be the last. Arrived on a Thursday for buy one get one free on the classic burgers 🍔 ( works out cheaper than McDonalds 😉) Food quality was top notch !! Flavourful and tasted as a burger should. Not too much topping or sides, and a good size plate-full. Atmosphere was lovely and relaxed, friendly staff, lovely service with a smiles around from staff. If you're tired of fast food ( and lets face it who isn't tbh ) go here !! Recommend the bacon and cheese burger was so good! ! And also the garlic and cheese bread 😍😍 very reasonably prices menu and look forward to trying many more dishes...and next time desserts too 🤩🤩 10/10

I come here every weekend and the staff are super friendly and helpful and always there to take your order, it’s a very nice and pleasant place to visit I highly recommend anyone to visit if they like a nice traditional pub that serves great food

Waiting quite a while for food ,cold chips ,burnt burger, my friend had turkey roast brought beef. Asked for mint sauce and cranberry sauce said there's none till xmas

I’ve been ill twice after eating from here. First time me and my mum had the fish and both were ill the same night. Came again yesterday to try again and had the gammon and it smelt funny and now I’m ill again. Probably won’t be visiting again.

What a pleasant experience.. all the bar staff were happy and welcoming ... Sasha took my order and was accommodating with special requirements .... Ollie did a professional check back and I was informed that Tara had cooked our food. It was amazing, piping hot, well cooked and presented. Thank you all .. will definitely return

I really wish I could give here more than a one star since the front of house staff were absolutely great to say how busy they were, however the main purpose of going to a resturant is food. I went there on the 12/10/24 at 12:30, and if there was a proper chief in that kitchen at that time then they clearly don’t know what their doing. As shown in photo, the presentation of the food was awful. It immediately put me off my food. I work in a kitchen and I would never sent food out looking like that. Oil all around the lasagne, burnt garlic ciabatta. My father ordered a well done steak, got more of a medium rare. Same happened with my brother, ordered a medium well but got well done. These are mistakes that can be easily fixed, but as customers ruin the meal. It only takes more care given into the food to achieve a decent meal. Hope this place gets proper chiefs in that kitchen that have their priorities in the correct place.

Staff were very friendly, place was very clean and tidy, ordered the halloumi fries for starters and a steak and the food was delightful, would 100% recommend eating here 😊

Food ok had jug cocktail only filled half our glass so bit of a rip of waitress said it's for two and says on menu but it doesn't £13.50 for two half glasses bad plus took ages to order food at the bar really busy but only two staff behind the bar on a Saturday

Very poor service from start to finish ... waited over an hour for meals to come out .... when it arrived and we started eating food was still raw .. waitress spilled sauce all over my leg too .. Spoilt a day that was for my mother In laws birthday .. whole meal wasn't pleasant at all .. won't be returning.

Today was the second time I've been here in two months and the standard of food is just about edible. Last time we were here a meal had to be sent back but thought it was a one off.. Came back today and waited half an hour for the disappointment on a plate to be given to us. Used to be beautiful food from here too - so sad to see. Won't be coming back here in a hurry.

Service a little slow normal pub food

My friend's steak and ale pie was awful. The meat was not chewable at all. I had an all English Breakfast, and it was all undercooked. The pub you have by the Countess hospital has much better food

Arrived today, not one member of staff greeted us, was a horrible atmosphere not even asked if we wanted a drink, my 1 year old baby started crying, and got nothing but funny looks, didn't even bother staying felt uncomfortable and left for a much nicer family friendly pub

Service was very good for lunch time. Food was fine for what you pay for. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either.

This was the second time we visited the pub in the past 6 months. The first visit wasn't great but we decided to give it another go( wish we hadn't now!) When we arrived it was busy, but not overly, but we did expect to wait a bit longer for our food to arrive as it was gone 1pm. We waited 50 mins until I asked where our meals were. Within mins our meals were at our table and cold. It looked like they had been sitting there and forgotten about. The young lad offered us another meal, but we said no as we wasn't prepared to sit for another 50 mins. He offered a refund and apologised. We noticed there were other ppl waiting for their food to arrive as well. Not great service and we know it can get busy, but this is the second time we left disappointed. We won't be returning.

Nice restaurant in a convenient occasion, we used this for a Birthday occasion while visiting Chester. It did however take a week to get our reservation confirmed after countless phone calls and voice messages left. Also the staff completely missed a meal off the order and then tried to deny they had. Otherwise would recommend.

Starter and mains. Starters of halloumi fries and garlic breaded mushrooms were ordered. The garlic breaded mushrooms were deep fried far too long, one shot across the plate, as it was so hard! Bacon cheeseburgers were flame grilled nicely though.

Food wasnt nice at all, couldnt cut through my steak even with a steak knife. Staff were blunt fast and quite rude and nobody asked how our meal was whilst we ate and it was so busy i would have to queue to mention tbe steak. Selection of food wasnt great not even a healthy option or jacket potato, all deep fried or american diner style food. I wouldnt come back.

First visit to The Mill House since the recent change of management. The place has undergone some great changes, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff provided service with a smile. The food has improved alot since my last visit so it is now my restaurant of choice when I visit Broughton Park in the future.

Young girl that was on has been amazing with us, even made my daughter a paper butterfly which is above and beyond. A credit to your team. (I didn't catch her name but she is a red head with glasses)

Have been a few times over last couple of months and it has really gone down in my ranking! There are rat traps lying about, staff member stated there had been a problem with flies! Last time we were told steak for mixed grill was unavailable and so we would have to size up? No onion rings so would give extra chips (well if there was extra chips on our plate, then I couldn’t see them). We left a good gap between ordering desert, and yet when the desert arrived there was no room on table for all our left over food. Atmosphere was bleak, and my food was burned. Not normally a complainer, but used to really like this place!

Had a lovely time at the Mill House, the manager Lisa was very helpful and answered all my questions. We had a meal with a drink and was welcomed by the lovely atmosphere.

1 hour 30.mins wait for food, and they weren't even busy. Appeared to be only one person serving who were rushed off their feet. We nearly missed the start of our film. Never again.

The food was terrible, chips were undercooked, and the chicken was overcooked and dry they had most of the sides out of stock I orded on the app before the people I was with and they had finished their food before I got ours and the drinks took the same amount of time as the food the only good thing was the waitress nice and friendly but wouldn't recommend going to anyone waste of money

Staff were rude, food was putrid, as if the food had sat in the kitchen all day, would not recommend and certainly won't return.

2 of our meals were not great at all.The roast dinner were cold, my niece threw up as it was that bad. Paid over £95 for five meals,I think we would have been better off going to macdonalds

They said 50min wait for food pub half empty over 1 HR still waiting for the food. Came over said that it's being plated up now still waiting 5mins later. Ppl came in after us & get served before us .

What a change to this pub. Absolutely lovely sitting outside in the garden in the sun. And had a fabulous meal. We had the Fish and chips and a gammon which came on a SIZZLING platter both for £13.99 😍. Staff so nice and friendly and can't do enough for you. And spotless loos 😀

Had a lovely meal here with my mum. Service was all round very good but we had great service from Molly at the bar, she is a credit to you and the team.

Called in the other day ordered lasagna that comes with salad and garlic bread.was told no garlic bread they run out ok would you substitute it for something else was told sorry no we don’t do that.said that’s not fair really is it was then told sorry it’s the rules.anyway ordered it anyway just as I’d finished my food after waiting nearly an hour was then told we’re sorry we got it wrong but next time you come in we make amends somehow I doubt you would remember so no real point tbh.wont be coming again my advice don’t bother terrible service and they just tell lies avoid.my advice read the reviews before you go just not good enough

Lovely afternoon spent at the Mill enjoying the sunshine. Amazing food served promptly and efficiently..... great, friendly service from the new Manager Lisa and the staff, especially Eliana at the bar and Ruby.... looking forward to our next meal there soon!
