We stayed on the attached Campsite while attending a wedding locally. What a find this place was. Excellent campsite with facilities on pitches, very well kept by Mark. Site security was excellent. Cafe onsite offered variety of food including fantastic homemade cakes made by Helen. Throughly recommend this place to stay over or just visiting the Cafe. Good selection of plants as well.

I wonderful tea rooms inside a Poly tunnel. We visit every Wednesday and always warmly welcomed. The light snacks and home made cakes are superb. The latter baked as early as 5am by the proprietor Helen. A great venue for cyclists and oldies like us. The young too are always welcomed. The plants that she grows are superb and extremely reasonable in price. I strongly recommend a visit. You won’t be disappointed I can assure you.

Very friendly, and pasty was ok. However, very weak, milky coffee. I asked them to put just a little milk in (ideally I just wanted a flat white) but they insisted on filing up a large glass with - had they been busy I'd have understood my request being ignored. They said it was the best latte I'd ever taste, completely ignoring the fact that I specifically said I didn't want a latte. it was undrinkable. I sneaked out without drinking much more than a sip, because I felt guilty because the staff were so nice. It's a shame, as I pass by most weekends on my rides, and it's a great location. My food rating is more than one star, because the pasty was ok. The coffee deserved nothing.

Really fancied a nice baguette and nowhere in the area to fine one. My wife suggested Mill End and so please she did. Lovely little cafe, and the food was tremendous. Propped cup of tea served in a tea cup. Would happy come again.

Staff very friendly and helpful i had a delicious Corination Chicken Jacket potato with side salad for lunch today. Plenty of seating inside and out, was quite busy with cyclist's when we went again Sunday. This time treated ourselves to some Cheese Scones, all the selection of cakes and other bakes looked good 😋

Simply put its great. Welcoming to cyclists and everyone else. Good for sitting inside or out, no pretentions just very pleasant. Most of all though its the owner, and her staff that make it so special. Nothing is too much trouble, they are friendly and efficient and know what they are doing. The cakes are exceptional and the whole thing is sensibly priced. You won't be surprised to learn that I visit regularly and am pleased to sing its praises.

Mill End Plants Rushden Nice low key family run plant centre with bike storage and caravan pitches. Going over the stream footbridge opposite the Moon and Stars is a pleasant walk via the churchyard and its exit onto Church Lane up to the pretty hamlet of Southern Green with lots of thatched houses. The plant centre's cafe is reasonably priced at £4 for a light lunch of brown or white baguettes, freshly cooked with a good choice of hot or cold fillings, also Jacket potatoes and home made soup of the day, Cornish Pasties, Sausage rolls and Vegetable quiche. Salad is an optional extra. There is a good range of homemade cakes and scones, coffees and a variety of teas. The menu is served until 4pm. Charity book stall in aid of the air ambulance.

We stayed here for 3 nights in August and loved every minute. Mark & Jane are very friendly and have built a unique combination of caravan site, tea room and plant nursery which combine to make it a great location. Very dog friendly and excellent snacks and meals in the tea room. We highly recommend everything about Mill End Nursery CL and hope to visit again.

We stayed for 3 nights at the CL and highly recommend the unique combination of CL, tea room and plant nursery. The tea room provided excellent cakes, snacks etc in pleasant indoor or outdoor settings. The CL is extremely dog friendly and I think that our Mylo enjoyed the stay as much as we did. Mark & Jane are very friendly & helpful and we highly recommend this site.

We chose to stay in Rushden because it is roughly equal distance from Wrest Park and Audley End both English Heritage properties. We thought it would just be a stopover.....how wrong we were. We found an area of winding lanes ( almost no traffic except cyclists ), thatched dwellings and footpaths . Then after a scenic walk to Wallington the best of all, the Mill End Plants cafe. There was a delicious range of cakes and a generous pot of really hot tea. The cheese scones, nearly the size of a tennis balls were served slightly warm with plenty of butter. My husband had 2 ,and we had to have a light meal in the evening . So if you are anywhere near by do find time to enjoy the treats .

Only takeaway at the moment but about to change when the rules allow. Great range of homemade cakes and savouries. Really friendly staff, and good loos. Nice seating areas both inside and outside. Not a cycling café as such, but cyclists are welcomed and special bike parking is helpful. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Its brilliant. From the owner to the staff its so friendly and welcoming. You can sit inside or out and it's all very covid safe. Best of all are the cakes, obviously home made to a high standard and quality. Cyclist friendly. I have been here before and will definitely go again. So should you. I cannot rate this highly enough.

Came here with friends for the first time and stayed on C.L caravan site. a very warm welcome from Jane and a warm welcome from Mark the next day. Site is laid out with loads of space with enough hard standing to pitch any way round. Gravel drives all round with no need what so ever to walk on grass which, with all the rain lately was a god send. Shame some other camp sites cannot be so forward thinking. a smashing tea room on site with cakes, home made and a magnet for all the local cyclists for a stop over. Mark says hes soon putting water taps at each pitch which will make the stay even easier. Only been open since Feb and it seems its going to be full most of the time. Well done both and we will be back next year for sure.

What a find, hidden off the Beaten track in the middle of the countryside this nursery has amassing homemade light lunches and cakes at very reasonable prices and as an added bonus not only is it dog friendly but they also offer takeaway. Good selection of veggie food also on the menu and gluten and dairy free available. Coffee is lovely For me it’s the veggie quiche and coffee cake but everything on the menu is delicious Seems nothing is to much to the staff here it’s one to check out as you won’t be disappointed excellent for cyclists as well as even has a purpose built cycle rack

The cafe might be inside a polytunnel but it is very welcoming and kept nice and warm in the winter. In the summer you can sit outside under a gazebo. The cakes are great and there is a custom built bike stand, which means that a lot of cyclists visit (peak time is 11 o'clock on a Sunday). It's a very unassuming place to eat or peruse the plants and, with friendly staff, it's somewhere I like to visit regularly and linger.

A proper plant centre not a garden centre that is part of a chain - it has character. The tea room also has character; very stylishly decorated, lovey crockery.. But we went for the cakes. The scones and coffee cake were absolutely ace.. The staff were all absolutely wonderful

Stopped for an impromptu lunch as we were passing. All sandwiches were to a good standard and the quiche very good, and they had frozen gluten free bread for toasties and also some GF cereal bars. Only downside was that the food was very slow coming and the bread had dried out a bit (not that we were in too much of a rush!). They apologised for the delay and all the staff were lovely. I think they would have been much quicker for tea and cakes (which all looked lovely).

We have visited Mill End Plants on many occasions as this nursery is on one of our cycling routes. There is always a warm welcome from Helen and Karen and because of the delicious cakes (cooked that morning!) we always take ages coming to a decision as to which to choose! We don't think Mary Berry's could taste any better!! The plants are first class and set out in such a way that it is enjoyable to look around. We highly recommend this venue whether you are looking for plants or a nice place to sit and enjoy lunch and/or coffee and cake. Great for cyclists as there is plenty of room to store your bikes and if you use the outside seating you can easily keep an eye on them.

We arrived as a cycling group yesterday and were greeted by some very friendly dogs and staff. The cakes and coffee were delicious and the setting was very pleasant. We sat under one of the gazebos. It felt like a perfect picnic setting. The cafe is open all year round and there are fan heaters available which the owners/staff offered to put on for us. We removed all the soft furnishings so we didn't muddy them but put them all back when we left. Thank you for a great pit stop. It gave us the energy to cycle our 30 or so mile route back to Cambridge. We will come again.

Went to Cottered Village Fete and then popped into Mile End Plants Tea Room and was made very welcome. We both had a latte each, my husband had a scone with cream and jam and I had a slice of Bakewell tart, both cakes were very nice and the lattes were made to perfection. We spoke to Helen who helped us decide on what plants we need for our new garden and also the best time to plant them. We will definitely be a regular customer.

As a group of friends we met at this friendly Tea rooms within Mill End Plants tucked away in Rushden village between Baldock and Buntingford. Well worth seeking out. Obviously popular with ramblersand cyclists as groups from both stopped by while we were there. There was a good selection of freshly prepared, choices on the menu including Baguettes,Pasties, Ploughmans and Quiche plus home made soup and a selection of cakes baked fresh on the premises by the owner each day.

I go here regularly with my son and my Mum/his Nanny. Dena always gives the best service be it busy or not. She ALWAYS remembers your preference of drinks and will check this is what you're having before making it. The food she makes is tasty and reasonably priced,....and always has a great selection of sweet treats. Nothing is ever to much for her and we love it. Keep doing what you're doing Dena, as it really works!

Visited with my parents and daughter and her family, ages from 18 months to 85 years. Basic food, but very fresh and hot and very generous portions. The staff are excellent! Helpful, friendly and very accommodating. It was very busy, which is always a good sign. Nothing not to like.

We visited the Fox & Hounds for a birthday lunch. The interior is modern and cosy, the welcome, warm and friendly. The menu is a lovely combination of popular favourites and also more exciting dishes presented with great style. The Thai scotch egg was delicious, as was the Cromer crab on toast. The main courses did not disappoint either, the generous and beautifully cooked calves liver was excellent, as was my wife's hake. Well done to the whole team, an excellent meal from start to finish.
