Milano Express in North Lanarkshire

Used Milano Express for the first time yesterday. Had heard mixed reports but decided to give it a try. First the positives the onion rings were excellent and a good sized portion. Now the not so good. Chips were soggy, burger was to be char grilled but this was cremated and the chicken strips were obviously deep fried and had been overdone. Won’t use again

Great calzone and pasta for the monies. Meatballs and lasagne perticularly good. Service was attentive and all in all we will be back. A good feed and a drink for less than 10 pounds per head can't be bad

Tonight we tried our local pizza store and wasn’t sure what to expect. Overall it was great! We had bitter chicken pizza and the topics were fresh and the crust delicious! Well done!

Decided to give Milano Express a try for a Tuesday teatime takeaway. Chose our pizzas from the online menu and phoned Milano’s directly. Placed the order and was told they would be ready to pick up in 15 minutes. On arrival the pizzas were ready. All the pizzas are 12 inches and the quality and taste was very good. At £6.95 each I think that they are very good value. They also have a delivery service. This was the first time I have used Milano Express and as a result of my good experience I’ll certainly try them again next time I’m in Cumbernauld.

What a strange place, its the cumbernauld services off the old inns roundabout, less salubrious would be hard to find, a square featureless building on the outside, but don't let that fool you.

I have made several visits to this restaurant and on each occasion its been great service, fantastic food and friendly atmosphere

On this occasion, the customer service was very very slow and detracted from the groups overall experience. It was an 80th birthday celebration but the whole experienced ruined the celebratory visit. Very slow service with insufficient staff number. Coffee served cold. Some guests were clearly annoyed and totally disappointed. Probably will not return again in a group.

Have visited this restaurant several times and each time the food is excellent. They were a wee bit slower at serving this particular night but it was a very busy night and we were having a great girly chat anyway! Hadn't tried the cocktails before so tried the Bahama Mama which had been recommended to me. Lovely cocktail. Prices are excellent and for 3 of us I think it worked out at around £17.00 each which included 3 main courses, 2 portions of garlic bread, 3 Bahama Mamas, 2 Proseccos and a coke! You don't get those prices everywhere! Will be back again!

I often stop here, on my business travels, between Glasgow and Stirling, or Glasgow and Edinburgh. Conveniently situated just a minute's drive off of the motorway, at Wardpark (Auchenkilns services), great food and quick service from a friendly and helpful team, and affordable prices too.

I have visited this restaurant a few times now and I've yet to be disappointed.

Having been twice recently I can honestly commend the food here as being truly enjoyable Italian food. The service isn't show-stopping but it's good. Great value and enjoyable experiences.

Having ate a Milanos many times I was very excited to try the express. Quality of food just as good and slightly cheaper its a win win. My partner and I shared a pizza, chicken burger, 2 sides, glass of wine and a bottle of beer and we were just under £30. Can make it as dear or as cheap as you want. I am slightly concerned too see the comments regarding tips. Some clarification on this would be good?! !00% return....hopefully soon!!

Ordered a delivery via Just-Eat and was not disappointed

We had a home delivery. Pizzas arrived cold and burnt. Contacted reataurant but no one bothered to return my call/email/message. Domimos would have been better!

Service was great! Manager came across pretty abrupt.

We, once again, visited Milano's and had a nice meal. Large free car park and complimentary WIFI. Large range of drinks both alcoholic and non available. Hotel with accomodation next door. Just off the M80 motorway so easily accessed.

Stopped while driving from east coast to Dunoon food service etc. were first rate. Pizzas and pastas all excellent. Highly recommend.

Just had a lovely meal, spoiled only by the fact that the restaurant does not share tips with the staff. I am appalled that management find it appropriate to disadvantage their hard-working staff by taking tips that are left by customers to be shared among staff who prepare and serve their food. I have never left a tip to further line the pockets of management and will be voting with my feet... I won’t return until there is a rethink about how to treat staff with respect and pay them their rightfully earned tips.

Food was alright certain male staff very unprofessional shouting comments at me and my sister as we left with our takeaway.

Visited this restaurant tonight for the first time and will not be returning. The customer service was appalling- waiting staff were very unhelpful, cutting and all round rude. When the food came it was cold and bland and it was evident that the staff were talking about us, looking round constantly. Having worked in customer service for years, I am appalled at the way we were treated. We complained to the manager at the end who smirked and was lost for words, I think this suggests that he obviously knew his staff acted wrongly. A shocking experience, will not be back.

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Waitress’ were very bitchy, who clearly were talking about us as we could hear then they constantly would turn round and growl. Very very unprofessional. I work in a customer service industry on a day to day basis and would never treat customers in such a way making them feel uncomfortable and self conscious. Waitress who served us was clearly uninterested and was very rude.

Don't know about you, but I would rather spend £6 here for a meal, Mcdonalds and Burgerking and the rest haven't got a look in, one word 'Junkies' atmosphere is family friendly and your not listening to teenagers planning there weekend ahead before they even think of your order, also not going to get a junkie making a pit stop for a burger, fries and meth shake to wash it all down

So tonight I have made an order out of here and it has took 1 hour and 48 mins to be delivered to us now if anyone knows The area we actually live in Westwood a stone throw away. Received the order the pizzas that was look warm And hardly any topping also ordered chips with the cheers to receive a melted bag with chips In it and no cheese if there was it’s melted into the bag called up to. Complain as I paid extra for the cheese to be on top of the chips, The girls and drivers were ever so apologetic .... it’s not there fault it’s the kitchen is a joke you would not serve this up in your restaurant so why is delivery any different ...... don’t get me wrong they sent the new Cheese chips out in an appropriate silver container and not in a plastic bag 5 mins later I am so shocked as never really had a problem before But to pay for £18 for this is a joke and not even to be offered my money back I think is shocking. But I ate 3 slice of the pizza and the second load of chips but honestly disappointed in a company this big. That there staff in the kitchen think it’s acceptable to send this out they are clearly in the wrong type of job get this sort as you will only lose customers 2 hours wait is also an absolute joke !!

Very good food and it's cheap, and standard is amazing would recommend to everyone. Food is very fresh and can see its very clean

Have been visiting at least twice a month for over a year. Have just found out that the staff don't get their tips. They even have a tip jar, which doesn't go to the staff. Presumably owners. Really disappointed, have probably tipped close to £200 in the last 2 years and it is rotten to think it isn't going to the people it is meant for. Misleading.

Popped into here on the way home with my family after a day out, being recommended this by other family members.

Love this place and the simple menu to order some lovely food and drinks. Pasta, Pizza, Burger and that's just for starters.

Dropped in for quick lunch on the journey home. Fantastic value for money. Meals £6.00 each or cheaper. All really good quality and great portion sizes. Staff are all friendly and professional.

Popped 8n for a bite to eat, all meals £6, yup that is all, this includes pizza which is huge, you can order sides and they are all very reasonable, choice was excellent, pasta, burgers and pizza, we had the pollo Milanese and the chilli burger, absolutely fantastic, we had sizes of mozzarella sticks and onion rings, these would have fed a family , all in all a fantastic meal, just as good as the main restaurant milano’s, would definitely recommend this restaurant

This is a great restaurant for value for money. Al the main meals are £6 each, whether sitting in or taking away. The pizzas are traditionally stonebaked and delicious, like you get in Italy. Service is very good too. The outlook of a garage forecourt is not very pretty, but the good food more than make up for it. It’s also child friendly. There is no specific children’s menu but we just order them some sides which suits them fine. Particularly recommended for lunch.

First visit, previously had take away. Great value and good service. Decent helpings and dirt cheap. £6 for a main course. 2 mains and 2 drinks for under £20.00. We'll return.

Always enjoy the food, staff are friendly but why is the restaurant always so cold?! And don't even bother using the toilets as you may bump into a polar bear as they are even colder.

Can't believe how cheap the menu is. Good really tasty, quality as good as main restaurant. Have been several times and will be back. Staff pleasant and kept busy

It's 6quid for any pizza burger or pasta. Add ons quickly add up. The place was busy with locals wanting a deal. Alright for a stop off or a quick bite to eat during the week.

I've ate at Milano's many times, as the concept of quality food at affordable prices is a rarity these days.

4 of us eat here after a work meeting. The food was so so nice. Absolutely bargain price. We would have liked it as s starter rather than a side, as was then overtaxed but overall could not fault. Please set up in Yorkshire.

Have been here a few times now, eating in and also for take away pizza. The concept is brilliant. £6 for any pizza, pasta or burger! Whether you eat in or take away. The sit in area is ‘diner’ like but ideal for a reasonable family meal or meeting up with friends. I’ve had pizza and burger and both were superb. Excellent service too. We often stop for a pizza on the way home from football training and they are made fresh in a wood fired oven. Would highly recommend this place.

Visited this restaurant with friends. All dishes are £6 with sides extra, drinks and sweet. However I paid £12 for macaroni cheese with garlic bread, cheesecake with cream and a soft drink. Great value for money with good food and excellent service.

My normal Friday night is Chinese takeaway however, had heard so much good things about this place and fancied something a wee bit different for a change. Glad we decided to try it. Not a huge fan of pizza but gave it a whirl and was very impressed, nice thin base and plenty of cheese, Hubby had the chilli steak burger which he raves about, too hot for me so never tried it although might try the burger next time the way he has spoke about it. Menu is not vast but at £6 for either pizza, pasta or burgers you cannot complain and the portion sizes were fab. You do pay more for extra topping etc but overall a cheap night out in pleasant enough surroundings.... they also do takeaway and from what we could see are really busy, give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

On the way home from Scotland stopped at these services. Old Inns Services. It says pizza and burger but if you enter the restaurant be suprised. Excellent service and the food was lovely. I had spag bol delicious and really good prices

My partner in dine and I stopped for some lunch on a road trip to Scotland. We arrived and were swiftly seated at a table. The staff managed to cope with seven mums, each with a baby in a pram and a motorised wheelchair user and his friend without a qualm and in a friendly manner.

So popped in here today about 6.45 for dinner. Very busy however seated right away and order taken quickly. Ordered spaghetti bolognese and pepperoni pizza and potato wedges and jalapeño bites along with 2 drinks. Drinks arrived n food was quick too. Can I just say FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING top notch as always. However customer service went downhill from there!! Food arrived however no garlic dip that I had ordered. I asked to change it. Now normally they ask if you would like parmesan or black pepper but this wasn't case. We had to ask for it. Still waiting on black pepper!! Finished meal and asked to take left overs away. Can I say the spicy dip I paid for and had left was not put in our take away box!! I also noticed 2 customers having to go up to bar area and ask for stuff! We then got bill and had been charged for 2 dips rather than one so we complained only to have waitress make a face on leaving table. Another waitress came over with new bill. No apology was given. We asked to speak to person in charge but she just dealt with it. We complained about very poor service and she basically never did anything other than blame a till problem and then walked away again making a face! I have been in customer service for years and would never ever make a face whilst walking away from a customer. That is absolutely awful!! We are still awaiting apology. We think the food is amazing so maybe we will just do take away and Milano Express can lose out on our bar bill!! Certainly not the same level of customer service as normal. Very disappointed

Highly recommend restaurant and takeaway not five star but excellent value for money any pizza six pounds also pastas burgers two glasses of house wine and pizza thirteenth pounds been twice now always busy waitresses service very attentive will be back next time I’m in area

Have eaten here on several occasions and cannot fault the place. They offer a basic Italian and Burger menu with all mains being £6. Don't be fooled by this, the quality is superb and the portions ample.

Stopped for a break on a long journey and was delighted to find this recently opened Italian Restaurant.Please try it,the food is amazing and the prices very reasonable.
