Mila Essex Bar&Grill in Chelmsford

We had family a takeaway this evening for my Mums birthday. It was delicious. It was a big order and a dish was missing. I called and it was rectified with no questions asked. Best customer service. Thank you.

Ordered a takeaway at 5.55pm, still not arrived at 8.02pm and they keep sending messages 'not to worry, they are busy and order will be delivered soon' Worst part was when I called (very politely) and they left me on the hook. Forgot that I was on there and tried to dial someone else 5 minutes later and then hung up on me. Asked for a refund and they refused, quite frankly, could have been half way to Turkey in the time this has taken! Avoid

Always order a takeaway from Mila since it is open. It was the best kebab I ever had until today. I ordered the mix doner, which normally comes with a pita bread, but today with chips? Soggy chips, too. The lamb was dry and overcooked. The chicken doner was very hard to chew and not nice at all. I would not order from here again. It's best to go over the kebab van near the pub. It's such a shame as it's a new restaurant and is already dropping in quality.

Best turkish food in surrounding area, Chelmsford. Ive tried them all. Try the sharing platter. Comming from London, hard to find good spots in essex.

Late decision to try Mila as it was easier than going into town. Very pleased that we visited on a Saturday evening. The decor and music was well received and we were looked after really well. Good choice menu with calamari very nice, tender, hot and tasty along with the Cacik which was delicious. We chose chicken shish and mixed grill and were very impressed both with the quality (juicy and tasty) and the portion size (bit too big for some!) The restaurant was quiet, but with quite a few takeaway orders. We recommend trying Mila for a well cooked and served traditional Middle Eastern meal with having to go into the town. Good luck to the team, you deserve to succeed !!

Paid 50£ , and got delivered raw chicken. No salads for both meals. No dips for both meals. Not gonna order again. Gutted

Food was nice. Fresh ingredients cooked well. Full of flavour. Warm, buttered bread on arrival which tasted so good. I would recommend a try. Free 2 hour parking in the large car park outside the restaurant.

Great food quality, reasonably priced. We ordered the platter for 4 of us, and it was quite big, full of meat, delicious. Customer service was great. Overall, it was a great experience.

Me and the Mrs ordered a takeaway from here I got a mixed Donner and the Mrs got a chicken Donner. Life changing! The people here make a hell of a nice kebab and instead of the normal plain pitta or naan these people put a lovely seasoning on it and cut it into nice sized pieces. I don't need to know about any other company after tasting the Donner from here 100% recommend them!

Really lovely restaurant. Decor is to a high standard. Wait staff really friendly but professional. Food was delicious. Can't say much for the ambience because we were the only ones in there which was a shame. Well worth a visit.

Honestly this was great food. I do love a Turkish, from the tasty hummus starter, to the piles or chips and rice, to the tender juicy kababs. I would come here again and again. It looks, feels and tastes luxurious at an affordable price. Keep it up.

What a fantastic experience it has been to eat at this gorgeous hidden gem!! Booked for friend’s wedding anniversary. Let me tell you good folks reading this, you need to get booked and sample the fabulous restaurant that is Mila. The decor is gorgeous, front of house is so knowledgeable and friendly it’s just a joy!! The food is a delight and the portions have to be seen to be believed!! To say we were blown away by every aspect of this restaurant is an understatement. Not one thing it could be faulted on!!! Plush interior and excellent service. Music seemed a bit loud but restaurant was empty apart from the six of us out for an anniversary Sunday lunch. Wide choice of freshly prepared items. There is a special lunch menu Monday to Thursday which offers lower prices than at weekends. 3 course meal with drink and coffee is about £30 to £45 on normal menu. Scallops, fillet steak and baklava stuffed with ice cream were delicious.

1st time with my husband and son, will definitely come again. Food was delicious. We'll done to the young lady who served us as she was there on her own all evening.

Hopefully the best restaurant in Chelmsford Area! Food is amazing, from the sea food to beef and chicken, we tried them all in many visit. Always been amazing. Now be prepared for a bit of wait if they are busy, however i’d say the restaurant is nicely decorated, well light, and maybe one shot use some quality chat time with those at the table. I had such a lovely evening meal here recently, I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I walked into such a beautiful restaurant. The decor really did take me by surprise because it was so radiant and I wasn't expecting it for the area, I felt special just walking in. The food was incredible, it was a challenge just deciding on what to order and i was not disappointed with the choice I made. The charcoal prawns starter are like nothing I have had before and would highly recommend them but also my friends ordered scallops and garlic prawns. The scallops were cooked perfectly which doesn't happen often in many other restaurants and the garlic prawns ended up being langoustine prawns which was a game changer and we all ended up sharing our starters just to try it all, we was all very impressed! We decided on the classics for our mains and all went for shish wraps. The mains all came with a colourful salad and was presented beautifully. They also have a variety of cocktails! I had an espresso martini and it was literally the best I have ever tasted! The hospitality in the restaurant was amazing, we were served by the wonderful Debby and had the pleasure of meeting the owner. The team couldn't have done more to make our experience more special. I personally cannot wait to visit this restaurant again and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel special whilst at a meal in an area with amazing parking. Give it a go guys! You won't regret it! Well done to the restaurant team for bringing the whole experience together. 💖

Had my birthday meal here, we were a table of 18. (Apologies to the other diners on the night!) The service was excellent, especially as there was only 1 waitress available! The food was outstanding as always. We all chose different dishes and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their food & enough for doggy bags too. The drinks were good quality, even the mocktails were made with attention to detail. Highly recommend this restaurant whether a large or small party or even for takeaway! I look forward to going back soon. PS sorry it’s taken so long to leave a review.

Been a few times now and it's always incredible. Cocktails amazing, squid incredible, can't stress enough actually how delicious the squid is. The setting is beautiful it's such a treat to go there every time and hope it stays around forever and keeps the standards as high as they are right now. Free parking as not in town too. You can't believe this place is in little old Galleywood

Had a fillet stake in milas Sunday and hands down was the best stake I've had peppercorn sauce was extremely delicious atmosphere and the service was also very good thumbs up to you guys would be visiting again very soon

It was busy Friday lots of delivery orders, we were waiting for nearly an hour for our food, steak was overly cooked, food wasn't hot enough. Atmosphere is good but wouldn't go there again.

Great Saturday evening dining spot. Found ourselves next to a large birthday group, but no issues as they were lovely, considerate folk. The fish was excellent.

Found this place by pure chance on Mothers Day. It was empty and slightly out of place in a plain parade of shops but glamorously so. We approached with caution. We needn’t have worried. We ordered some bites including the calamari which the charming staff confidently promised would be the best we’d ever tasted. Seemed unlikely but - stone the crows - it was!!! By the time we left it had filled up too. This is a real hidden gem. Search it out!

Had a fantastic takeaway meal from Mila tonight, mini burgers for starter and then a kebab sharing plater, was delivered 15 minutes earlier than time specified, was lovely and hot and loads of it too! I think my son and I may be eating this for a few days too and excellent value for money 😃🥰

Had a perfect takeaway from Mila today! Food delivered quickly and great quality food. Chef took on all notes advised. Love the takeaway dishes they are in to separate the chicken and the rice. Great touch. Thank you. Will be ordering again soon!

Lovely food with amazing service great meal

Had a takeaway from here, although the food was nice, 2 of our party had food poisoning. One resulting in hospital treatment.

Ordered 3 chicken doner wraps. Arrived Luke warm, soggy and dripping with an orange oil. Had soaked through all the wraps the bottom one was drenched, all packaging including the delivery bag was saturated too. Disappointed as last meal we had was fabulous! Spent the night with my head down the toilet bowl!

Was recommended to this resturant by a friend who said ‘Ricky, you will not eat food at a better Turkish resturant’ well that was a challenge!! And I have to say it’s 100% amazing, the food is superb and the team are very friendly! Excellent service, great food and a good price. HIGHLY recommended

Was due to have a COVID jab at the pharmacy and stopped for a coffee, that staff were so helpful, we decided to stay for lunch and had the lunch menu, the food , service and atmosphere was great at Lunch time. We did not know this place before and will be going back.

Had take away for second time and the food is very tasty and nice big portions. Used to use favorite kebab but they have become very poor quality ..keep it up Mila. Will be in to the restaurant soon.

Really disappointed….. awful customer services. We reserved a table by phone, but clearly the resturant had double booked. No apology was given for the mix up and for ruining our evening as we ended up having to return home, after rushing back from a day out and getting ready to head over to Milia in the first place. Again really disappoint, and therefore I cannot recommend.

It was my birthday so I wanted to go somewhere which wasn't to far away for me and my family so I booked a table for 10 of us and am so glad I did as it was a a very enjoyable evening the food was lovely and we got plenty of it and the staff were really friendly I would highly recommend them for a nice evening out I will be definitely be going back thank you fat shish it was a a very enjoyable evening

A hidden gem, once you have discovered Fat Shish, it will become a firm favourite. It's worth making sure you're hungry as portions are generous and there are lots of complementary side dishes and starters. Our party raved about the smoky deliciousness of the charcoal grilled lamb shish, grilled salmon, grilled seabass and chicken shish as well as the delicious desserts. Service was discreet, attentive and polite making it a perfect place to reunite with friends or colleagues.

Enjoyed a nice meal with the family and got hosted by very generous, pleasant staff and chef. Thank you all

Food was 45 minutes late. We called restaurant 4 times to chase. Each time told by staff ‘driver is two minutes away’. We asked to cancel and refund they said no. We had to wait. Food stone cold. An hour after eating we both have terrible stomachs. Both very unwell! We have very strong stomachs and there was definitely something wrong with that meal. Would never eat there again.

Working awyand found this place and what a find had 2 meals over a few days take away portions very generous all tasted delicious. Bonus of rice pudding which was divine. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Moussaka and calamari outstanding. Might have to move.

What a load of ole rubbish. People who give this place a good review must have low standards.

Used the home delivery service twice already, first time we ordered the meat kebabs, lamb and chicken, second time the grilled fish, sea bass and sea bream, very happy each time with the speed of delivery, but most importantly we were impressed with the excellent taste of the food, the nice charcoal flavour. The salad helpings are maybe a bit overgenerous, but nice to have them and the lovely tzatziki included in the price! Decent prices. Will surely order again.

Wonderful meal & great service.

First time I've been. It wasn't busy (is anywhere at the moment?) but the staff were great. The food was fantastic and i really enjoyed it. The chilli pepper was hot! I think it's reasonably priced too. Give it a go.
