Great food. An unexpected find by the beach. We stopped by the town centre after a visit to the beach and chose to eat here. There were seats outside, while there were also plenty of seats inside and another patio to the back. Decorations were cute and we had some steak, eggs and chips, a lasagna and Frito Misto. What a nice selection. The calamari were deliciously tender. Will definitely try to come back next time we're visiting!

Wednesday 5th June 2024: Met with friends, enjoyable coffee and sausage rolls. Wonderfully attentive staff. Friday 8th March 2024: Today, i had the chilli con carne, rice and chips, and the obligatory black coffees. Bloody marvellous. Great nosh, very attentive staff. Thursday 22nd February 2024: Awesome FEB (see photo), great ambience, great food, and the perfect meeting place.

Ordered 15 cakes and they were to die for, good size portion and really good value. All homemade and delicious. Highly Recommend

Nice friendly staff, lovely food, clean and tidy cafe. Fancy tomato sauce and a gingerbread man with our coffee! Seats available inside and out. Loved it here, will definitely return.

First time of visiting bit will not be our last. The welcome we had was very friendly as was the service. Our breakfast was very tasty and great value for money. We would highly recommend Mike's Kitchen.

Lovely cafe! Fresh sausages from the butchers and a great breakfast. Really clean, servers and owners are lovely and reasonable price as well. Definitely returning next time.

I live on Hayling and most shops and restaurants are friendly and helpful. Saturday evening my partner and myself popped out to the local shops. My partner is 8 months pregnant. We were just about to go home when she suddenly needed the toilet, being heavily pregnant these things tend to happen unexpectedly. My partner went into Mike's Kitchen to see if she could use the toilet, most places are nice and let you use them without any problems. The guy who was front of house was rude and told her no at the beginning, very loudly in front of everyone eating, making her feel embarrassed. She explained she was pregnant and urgently needed to wee, to which he begrudgingly let her use the toilet. I understand we were not using the restaurant but at least be kind and helpful and polite! This has reinforced that as a local I will not be using the place ever.

Lovely place with fiendly staff. Had a beautiful cream tea with a yummy scone for under five quid. Definitely recommend this cute cafe!

We stopped at Mike's last night for a meal and so pleased we did. We had the Rib Eye and it was perfect. So so tasty. We asked for it to be cooked 'dairy free' and Mike was only too pleased to do so, and even made the effort to come to our table to offer a home made dressing made with Prawn and White Wine to complement the Steak. It was lovely. I can not recommend this place enough, great food, great atmosphere, great staff, great service.

Fantastic lunch, lasagne superb. Wife said her scampi was perfect. Very clean and nice friendly people. Worth the walk from Fishery creek. A big thanks after disappointment elsewhere. Cappuccino awesome

Amazing food from amazing chef and team. On arrival we were made so welcome, there was a set menu on the board but the chef catered for our fussy little ones. They also happily catered for our friends who are vegan, also myself who cannot have wheat. Our food was beautiful, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I would recommend anyone to visit Chives, but do book in advance as they are very popular. We will be going again next year, without a doubt. Such great hospitality.

Happy to go there. Great attention given to patrons and their dogs. Dogs are allowed to be inside, and there is a pleasant outside area as well.

We had to hunt this bar/restaurant down as we used to visit the Olive Leaf years ago and found out Mike and Tonya moved here. Superb welcome after 3 years away, very accommodating and food was awesome. Back next year!!

Mike's Kitchen is the place to go for a quiet tipple and superb food You won't find a better chef on Hayling. very friendly and welcoming. With a small patio garden and seating out front for the good weather.

Go here nearly every day they always go out of their way to be helpful and will change any meal if they can and have even cooked things not on the menu. Always happy. Friendly and helpful. I can recommend the evening menu had the fish pie last week it was delicious.

Been many times. But went today late may 2019 and wasn't over impressed. My daughter got full English breakfast and the sausage was very dry and not very nice !

Best bacon sandwich on the island

The place is nice and clean but the food was not worth the price. Maybe I ordered the worse one from the menu but even all of the others that were looking good the taste does not match the appearance. My pancakes were dry but not as much as the bacon. Chewing a pice of leather would have been even more tasty. The maple syrup was the worse I ever tried. And I can promise I tried quite a few. My partner ordered full english breakfast but requested to have it without mushrooms and tomatoes and asked if he could have something extra instead. They said he would have to pay for it! At least then the price should be reduced as he’s not eating “full” english. Was tasteless and not cooked propelry. I had a look at the other orders from other people in the cafe and I could see everyone was not finishing everything. My worse £20 spent ever.

Went here this morning because we fancied a good English breakfast. Had already been recommended and truly lived up to expectations. The food was prompt and well cooked and beautifully presented. The hot chocolate I ordered came with more than sufficient marshmallows and whipped cream making it well worth the £2.50 it costs. The staff was lovely as well

Great for just a coffee or for lunch. Full English breakfast is well cooked and tasty. If you're in Mengham and need a bite to eat, give it a try.
