One of the best curries I have had in a long time, fresh food and came out steaming hot. The staff where really friendly and the prices was very reasonable, We are here visiting Hayling Island for a few days but would definitely come back if we visit here again. Would highly recommend

We were lucky enough to get booked in last minute, and went with family and a friend. The menu has varied dishes and so much choice. We had a range of dishes, and all looked lush. I had the tender lamb Shatkora, with rice and a side of onion barji. Wow. It was one of the best curries I have ever had. The atmosphere was buzzing with a large party of about 16. Most certainly will be returning!

Last visit here was 4 years ago. Travelled from Oxford to see if it was still as good - it was! Fabulous fresh flavours with beautiful spice mixes. Well done all!

Lovely curry first time ordering

I had the most incredible dining experience at this restaurant yesterday, and I couldn't wait to share my thoughts! From the moment I walked in, the cozy ambiance and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. Let's talk about the food - absolutely mouthwatering! Each dish was like a work of art on a plate. The flavors were so fresh and vibrant, you could taste the love and passion that went into preparing them. The service was top-notch too. The servers were attentive, friendly, and really added to the overall dining experience. There was a really nice waiter there too, humorous, friendly and has a cute smile. Can’t wait to go back!

On the recommendation of my cousins Michael and Sue what a night. It was very busy but the staff straight away attended to us with drinks. Then no time our table was ready. I had lamb jalfrezi with coconut rice and sag bhaji . The lamb was succulent and I really enjoyed the food the company. All in all I will definitely be trying Bay of Bengal again. Thanks Guys

Expensive, dry and bland food. Wouldn’t use again. Ordered as a takeaway. Too anglicised and not genuine enough for me.

Fantastic service, amazing food, great prices - all round great restaurant

Food is beautiful! Service was amazing. This curry house is top notch! Poppadoms and pickle tray - fresh, tasty, brilliant. Sets you off on the right foot. Onion bahji - perfectly crisp on the outside. Absolutely delicious. Zero taste of oil that you sometimes get with bahjis. Lamb madras - no fat at all on the lamb and the meat was so tender. Perfect heat and flavour balance to the madras. It was unbelievable. Mushroom rice - so tasty, accompanied the curry so well. Seasoned amazingly. Garlic naan - the icing on the cake. Came out a minute after the curry and it was just perfect. Inside looks a bit tired and needs refresh, but do not let that put you off. The service is top notch and the food here for me cannot be beaten.

The food is amazing! My husband had lamb Jalfrezi and said it was the best he’d ever had. The scallops starter is to die for, absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. Will definitely be going back.

This restaurant is no less than amazing. The food is excellent and the host was excellent at making the right recommendations for our spicy needs. Two lamb rogan Josh’s one very mild and one very spicy both thoroughly enjoyed. The lamb was very tender and cooked perfectly. The staff working in the restaurant were very customer experience oriented and if we lived on Hayling Island, we would dine in here every week. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. The food is truly wonderful.

Read the reviews so had high expectations. Sadly I was disappointed food was ok at best but expensive compared with other better Indian restaurants. Restaurant looked a bit tired no atmosphere sadly will not return staff were friendly so sad to give a negative review sorry

fantastic service, very nice meal. Will definately be visiting again when i next go to hayling island. The vinadaloo sauc was lovely as was the lamb madras. The only downside was the bootle of Kingfisher was small but was still charged the same as a price of a pint.

Nice Tandori Dishes, mediocre biryani and curry’s. Just a shame they’re severely understaffed. Waited 45 mins for a starter. One guy manning the front by himself.

Top meal. Jalfrezi and bhuna both very tasty, just nice spice with jalfrezi but will be trying the naga on my next visit, best keema naan I’ve ever had. Keep up the good work gents

Christmas ruined for my group of 4 friends and a separate table of 2 Friends. We booked dinner being put under the impression we could order a la carte but now at this last minute being told its a set menu at £60. They were informed that I was vegetarian and the two friends were seniors with health problems and could manage a set menu. They actually were informed after they cancelled their dinner with their families Christmas day that they would charge set menu prices. The restaurant has made no attempt to resolve any crossed wires or misunderstandings except to want to find out our details to cancel our reservations. Not a good service right from the word go.

My wife and I stayed in the area for 2 nights and booked a table in this restaurant for one of the evenings and glad we did ! Booked a table via their website which was easy and the communication was excellent! When we arrived there was a steady flow on f customers both in the restaurant and also takeaways clearly being picked up and going out for delivery too. Decent menu with lots of choice. Had starters of onion Bhajis and mushrooms stuffed with mince which was delicious 😋!! I have a chilli chicken main and my wife has a dish (can't remember the name) but was lovely flavours! Whenever I have a Indian meal I always have Bhindi Bhaji side dish and the okra again, was lovely! Pilau rice and a coconut rice where decent sizes and very good! The Peshwari naan was probably the best one we have ever had anywhere and made a point of telling the guy waiting on us ! Decent meal, excellent service and well priced! Definitely return if/when in the area. While we where there two large parties arrived which where clearly locals which says to me they have a good name withing the area , baring in mind there are two or three other Indians in close proximity.

I have only been able to get here 3 times over recent years but each time the meals & service have been excellent. A nice friendly welcome, great atmosphere & obviously popular (busy on a Thursday night). Thanks

We came to Hayling for a weekend away. We visited last night and the food was amazing. The customer service was 10/10 and the prices were very reasonable.

Brilliant friendly place . Family run and really knowledgeable about all dishes as all cooked fresh. I'm coeliac so gluten free is a must and could have 99% of the menu. Had an amazing curry , rice , poppadoms and sag aloo. They deliver and you can eat in and it was honestly one of the best Currys myself or my partner have ever had x

Such a shame. I was having a lovely meal and an enjoyable evening with my family for my birthday. When we booked the table we were offered either 6.30pm or 8pm. We booked 6.30, We found it very rude of the waiter to bring our bill over at 8pm, when we had only just finished eating and were still had our drinks There was no offer of dessert or coffee, just pay up and get out. We hadn't realised that we had to be out the resturant by 8pm.

A beautiful meal once again with family visiting from Norfolk. We love talking about what we like and taking recommendations from Ruhel and Blue who are incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Hands down this is the best Bangladesh restaurant we’ve ever been to. Thanks again guys for a great evening.

Camping in Hayling Island we decided to have a takeaway curry .We looked up on line and found this takeaway .We the ordered on line and they delivered to the camp site .I can not tell you how good this curry was absolutely delicious. You could taste the fresh spices so fresh .100% recommend you will not be disappointed. If we are back down this way I will definitely be ordering from here again.

Based on Google reviews & local recommendation we ate here for a birthday celebration whilst on holiday. Superb food & friendly service. All our starters the Kodu Ghoosth & chef's Bhoona special were excellent. They did half portion size for our 6 year old, he ate better than any other Indian restaurant we've been to. We dined in for a birthday celebration based on the great Google reviews, and we weren't disappointed. Food was cooked fresh to order and extremely tasty. The special tikka masala was cooked to perfection. Really customer focused, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend if staying in Hayling.

Went for the early bird cash only 20% off deal Had Poppadoms n Pickle, Lamb Naga and Veg Shatkora, Chilli Nan, all washed down with cobra on tap. Food was delicious, service was fast efficient and very friendly.

Been going every week for a year. The staff are always friendly and helpful with details of dishes. They will ask your taste preference and adapt each dish to your liking. Never had a bad meal there and in our opinion it is the best indian on Hayling Island. Would highly recommend.

Probably the nicest friendliest restaurant I’ve ever been too! Such a lovely atmosphere and the food was to die for. I had the Chicken Korma and it just fell apart, stunning ! I would recommend this to everyone and anyone who would like a friendly family meal with staff who feel like your bestfriends !

Was excited to try the Bay of Bengal based on reading other reviews but for me the food was good but nothing stand out and the service just ok. May have just been short staffed on the night though.

Definitely the best curry house I have ever visited. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is really peaceful. They do the best Curry's and naans breads. All food is freshly cooked and they take pride in their dishes and creating a pleasant atmosphere for customers. It's sometimes busy on a Friday but never too busy to be unpleasant and if you book you always get your table for the specific time you booked. Service is quick and efficient and they will create other dishes for you that aren't on the menu, (they want to please). Genuinely just a nice place to go for a proper curry that is worth its value.

Me and my husband visited last night. We have a holiday home on the island and have not been here before, we always drive past and finally we tried it - it did not disappoint! Delicious food and very friendly welcoming staff. We had salmon to start to share, and lamb dish and chicken korma for mains - lamb is so tender and cooked amazingly. A group of 6 friends booked a table here mid week, we were promptly seated, drinks and poppadoms were quickly delivered followed by our starters and main dishes, all food was hot and arrived at the same time, nothing was missed and best of all it was very, very tasty. We shall definitely be returning here soon. The waiter explained that it is a family run business and they take great pride in the fact that everything is cooked fresh to order, and it shows. Highly recommended.

We had a takeaway recently, having eaten at this restaurant before and been very impressed. However, we were disappointed with the quality of the takeaway. The service was good and delivery speedy. But the chicken tikka pieces were very dry and almost inedible, the peshwari naan was cold and tough, the rice was only luke warm. Apart from that, the pappadoms were crispy and nice and hot and onion bhajis were lovely. It left us wondering if the meal was reheated leftovers, which was a shame. It may be a coincidence, but we both suffered stomach pains and discomfort overnight and all of the following day and as we had only eaten the curry, we could only put it down to that and in particular the rice. Maybe we should not have eaten it and will find it hard to use this restaurant again which ireally is a shame.

Loved it so much we went two nights in a row while we were on holiday for a week. It does get very busy so worth booking.

Coming from Birmingham, we know our curries and I have to say this was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I always test a new place with a jalfrezi and this one was perfectly spiced with melt in the mouth chicken. The wife was also very happy with her Balti and kids with their tikka and tandoori. Naans were fresh and crispy as we like them. I just wish they delivered to Birmingham lol

We were offered a table for 4 without having a booking and we didn't regret it. Very kind host and an excellent kitchen, even if you're not familiar with Bangladesh food. Extensive menu with wide variety and a little help from the host to make the right choice. Highly recommended when your visiting Hayling Island.

After trying a couple of indian restaurants on the Island, we stopped at the Bay of Bengal! The best curry I have eaten. The menu is vast and has dishes I have not heard of. My partner asked for a lamb Ceylon (not on the menu), I kid you not, the best, the tenderest, melt in the mouth lamb in a rich spicy sauce. I could not recommend this restaurant enough. Delicious, satisfying and looking forward to my next takeout !! 5 stars

I booked a large table for my birthday and the whole evening was perfect. The orders were taken quickly. The food all came out fast so that no one was waiting. The food is always excellent there and a couple of my friends will be using this restaurant from now on instead of their regular . We all wanted to pay individually and it was done quickly and with no mistakes. I have always loved this restaurant and they did me proud.

Found this restaurant 450’ from where we are staying. Small restaurant with perfectly sized portions with great flavour, spices and heat. I will definitely eat here again when back in the area. P.S. my wife, who is not eager to eat Indian cuisine thoroughly enjoyed it. She had the vegetable korma with rice.
