Mike's Coffee Shop in Moyle

Recommended by family members who live in Bushmill. Did not disappoint. Plenty of options on the menu. I went for the grilled Haddock with Champ and peas. Just what was needed in a cold and rainy day. Service, for me and others, was excellent and accommodating.

Passage from Belfast to Dark hedges We accidentally stopped to find something to eat. Then I found this shop. I saw the inexpensive lunch menu so I stopped in to check it out. There is a Thai food menu. The family owner of the restaurant is Thai and cooks the food himself, giving you authentic Thai flavour. You can request as much spiciness as you want. The rice is fragrant and soft, making you miss Thai food. Until I want to stop by to eat again cute employee And the atmosphere of the shop is very friendly. P.S. Only accept cash.

Fab Thai lunch. Festive turkey meatball curry and chicken with basil and chilli. Very tasty.

We just happened to be in Bushmills at lunchtime so we decided to try Mike's. From the outside it doesn't look like much but indoors it is cosy and welcoming. The menu is extensive with anything from an Ulster Fry to oriental meals. Prices are reasonable and staff are very friendly and helpful. The walls are adorned with paintings of local areas and merchandise featuring the artwork can also be purchased here. It was cash only, which wasn't an issue. I would definitely recommend Mike's for a quick bite to eat or larger meal.

Great food very tasty my favourite place

You'd easily walk past this place, we nearly did and I'm glad we didn't! I was in Bushmills with my Dad and father in law and we came here for lunch, not knowing where to go we happened to see this spot. Food was excellent! The menu has a fantastic selection and the prices were great, considering this current economic climate. I'll definitely be back whenever we're in Bushmills again.

Great place for a coffee and a bite to eat 😋

This spot is amazing for if you are looking for cheap but delicious breakfast while staying in Bushmills! There was a huge queue out the door when myself and my boyfriend arrived. The breakfast is very well priced, big portions and delicious! The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely.

Great Thai food! We stopped by for a quick lunch today and what a nice surprise. The grilled fish with a portion of Thai sauce and boiled rice was really tasty My husband had the beef Massaman curry and rice which also received the thumbs up. Very reasonably priced also

Lovey cafe in Bushmills. Had breakfast here last Saturday. Was very nice. Couldn't fault it. The service was very good. Nice clean cafe. With some beautiful paintings available to buy on the walls. Would definitely recommend 👌

I live in the Florida Keys, where many restaurants market to tourists by advertising that they are a “locals’ place.” Since I am so accustomed to these fake locals’ places, it was refreshing to find that Mike’s is a genuine locals’ place. Comfortable and unpretentious, Mike’s is a spot where local farmers and townsfolk gather for a home cooked and reasonably priced breakfast. In fact, I listened carefully to all the customers ( It is a small establishment.) and my friend and I were the only ones without an Irish accent. The fare is simple. The only thing French on the menu is the name of the French Toast. There aren’t any fancy cream sauces and the the food is not in dainty portions arranged on your plate with artistic flair. Instead, what you’ll find on your plate is a generous serving of home style cooking, obviously appreciated by locals. And as the old saying goes, if you want to find good food in a strange town, ask the locals. The service is prompt and the price is reasonable. It would help if they accepted cards, though, in this increasingly cashless society.

This place is truly amazing. Thai food absolutely gorgeous. Mike and Tan so welcoming and friendly. They keep you right on the Thai spices and make the food to each individual’s taste.

I had forgotten just how good the time cuisine is. Very genuine fresh Thai flavours. Don’t be confused by the name coffee shop. Yes, it does good coffee, snacks and local cuisine as well as great Asian food.

We called in for breakfast. We got a Ulster fry. Served quickly, we had our coffee and tea refilled. Definitely we would call back.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast while we were on our way to the Giant's Causeway. It from the outside is a typical little tea room/coffee shop venue. It also has Bushmills and causeway souvenirs on show, but we decided to give it a go. That was a wonderful decision. The coffee and tea were good. It was the eggs (which I am assuming were local and free range) that really struck me. They were perfectly poached and had a wonderful richness. The toast and soda bread were good, and the avocado perfectly ripe. The booths are still separated with Covid dividers, but that gave a feeling of security. The venue is cash only.

Serves possibly the best Bacon Bap anywhere, the bacon is superb, I added some cheese and fried onions, it was simply delicious. My girlfriend had the American breakfast and really enjoyed it as well. Always try to visit when I'm up on the North Coast and I'll be back again.

We travel up to the north coast every year and never miss a trip to mike's for brunch. The food is beautifully cooked, Ulster Fry is the best in Ulster hands down. Very friendly staff Mike included and a lovely comfortable atmosphere.

Had lunch here, for second time in about 6 weeks. Thai food was amazing. Fresh, spicy, cooked to order and generous portion. Staff were polite, friendly, absolutely wonderful service. Place was spotlessly clean. Covid still being aware of - masks worn by staff. This is a hidden gem in Bushmills. You can have traditional cafe food if you wish but the Thai menu is exceptional. Definitely be back

Must have walked past here a hundred times, didn't give it a second glance. Then a friend told me about their sensational Thai food (Mike is married to a Thai lady) and asked a couple of us to have lunch with her. Hands down the best meal I have ever had in Bushmills, far superior to the other 'up-market' restaurants/hotels catering for tourists and holiday-home owners. I had a superb hot chicken Thai curry which was quite simply devine, my friends had a Tom Yum soup and a noodle dish - every scrap was devoured. I'm kicking myself that I didn't take photos but I was so excited about eating I forgot - but I will be back! Mike's twin girls are helping out - both just graduated in arts and display their talent around the shop - but so good they need to get it out to Designerie, the Visitor Information Centres if/when they re-open and further afield - very reasonably priced. Small scale, friendly, welcoming, Covid-aware (staff wearing masks and disinfecting tables) and half the price of places half as good! Do not pass them by - really beautiful food. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a meal out as much. 👏👏

Oh dear lord!! The filled sodas in this place are AMAZING, blazing hot and the eggs are cooked to your choice. Good flavoured bacon and sausages, we will be back and would highly recommend.

Best breakfast and Thai food on the North Coast 👌

Bit disappointed with the Thai food. Was expecting some aubergine rather than frozen veg. The other food looked reasonable and lot's of care was taken to ensure the chairs and tables were clean.

After being turned away by The Copper Kettle ended up at Mikes, had the grilled fish and champ and the roast pork stuffed with black pudding, food was excellent, large portions, friendly service, highly recommended.

This is such a great unpretentious quaint diner with a great fresh and flavorful fare . From pastries ,scones ,breakfast to burgers and the best tai food ( ever ) . Limited tai menu but amazing . This dynamic duo ( husband and wife ) are Irish and Tai ....need I say more ? The tai soup and pad tai are better than what we have had in Thailand . Please try this quaint little spot on the square .... You won't be disappointed. Remember no credit cards ... Cash only . ATM Across the street in the market .....

Have been in a few times for Sunday lunch, and the food's always been tasty and filling. The selelction is great, and there's something for different tastes. Tried one of the Thai options yesterday, and wasn't disappointed. Meal was reasonably priced too (just over £30 for 3 meals, and two drinks each).Granted, the cafe might benefit from a bit of redecoration, but it's clean and comfy, so that's important.

I’ve been here before and I will be back. The Thai food menu isn't bog, indeed there are only four choices. I have tried them all but my favourite is Thai red curry. Absolutely sublime! Just so you know, medium for many is too hot. If you don't like it too hot go for mild, just like you do in Thailand.

We called in here while on a trip out with family from abroad. At the time we called the menu stated that breakfast was over. However when some other people arrived later they were able to have off the breakfast menu. Two of our party ordered paninis. They were almost impossible to cut and the filling was without flavour. When we tried to order coffee we were told that they only served instant. We would definitely return.

Had sunday roasts here a month ago and was very happy with quality of meat and quantity. Today had ulster fry’s and couldn’t fault them either. Service is friendly, prices are reasonable, so its a five from me!

Iwas about 2.30pm and we were passing through Bushmills the first we had been there for a long time then I remembered this cafe which we had been in some yeaars ago and decided to have lunch. We ordered the ribeye steaks which came with mushrooms . FF onions a little salad the quality was excellent and the service was very good. While waiting for our meal I saw they had Thai specials, I asked for this menu and while not large it looked excellent, but that is for another day. The staff wwere very polite and efficent, definately a return visit.

I've been in here before and it was nice basic cafe food and I was passing through so I decided to stop for lunch. The Thai waitress bought over the specials menu which has 4-5 Thai dishes on it I had the panang curry it took me right back to Thailand absolutely beautiful I'll definitely be back.

my wife myself and dog stopped for breakfast and as it was a nice morning thought we would eat outside.after ordering i picked up a morning newspaper to read while the food was being prepared and was told by the owner in a rude manner to make sure i would return it.the food was very good but would not return because of his manner.

It's always best to eat where the locals eat so whilst i was in the post office, I asked for a recommendation of where to have lunch. they suggested Mike's, just around the corner.

I have been using this coffee shop since I was a child. Good portion size & service. Great homemade roast dinners & Thai food worth a visit just for this.

Now I will say that on the surface this place looks as if one could just walk by and not really miss anything, however you have to scratch the surface on this one to get to the golden nuggets that await your tasted buds. I speaking terms of the Thai food offered at lunch primarily. Best doggone Tom Yum soup I have had in ages. The depth of flavour and explosion of tastes abound. Do yourself a flavour and stop in for a friendly fry and cuppa or some really fantastic Thai food.

We had to travel through Bushmills almost daily to get to various attractions. We always made it a point to swing into Mike's Coffee Stop to grab a drink for the road. Super fast service and the staff was always helpful in giving suggestions in places to see.

We ate at Mikes on 5 occasions. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. We would highly recommend this little gem!

ブッシュミルズ蒸留所を見学後、街ブラをしていてランチに立ち寄りました。とてもリーズナブルで、イギリス料理定番のフッシュ＆チップスやハンバーガー、なぜかアジア料理（タイカレー）などありました。確かに混んでいましたが、料理が出てくるのにとても時間がかかりました。店員もアジア系の方がいたので、カレーなどを頼んだ方がよかった。（ハンバーガーはちょっとがっかりした）

Was at the Giants Causeway and on way back we stopped for food. We were so surprised at the standard of food, the service was excellent, big portions and great value for money considering there were 6 of us. Highly recommend Mike's to anyone going through Bushmills.

What a great cafe, we stopped here on the way to Giants Causeway, I had the American Breakfast and my Mrs had French toast and bacon, wow it was excellent food, fresh hot and delicious, would strongly recommend and will visit again, and very reasonable, friendly staff too, a little gem in Bushmills!!!

Visitamos la destileria Bushmills y en este pueblo habia un par de buenos sitios para comer uno se llama The Copper Kettle, estaba lleno y se ve no hacen remonte que es como se llama en hosteleria llenar dos veces o mas el restaurante, nos dijeron que no podiamos comer, teniamos hambre, era tarde y aun teniamos un largo recorrido por la maravillosa ruta de la costa en coche, hasta Derry segun los Irlandeses o Londonderry segun los Ingleses, esta ciudad es una colonia Inglesa, encontramos este coffe shop y tenia buena pinta, lugar comodo parecia, por fin comimos fish & chips plato tipico Irlandes y mi esposa pescado fresco a la plancha, 7'15 pounds cada plato y 1'30 pounds una coca-cola, precio mas que barato, en este lugar no venden alcohol, no tienen licencia.

Popped in for a late lunch and enjoyed the Chicken Caesar salad. Loaded full of chicken. Lovely fresh lettuce and a side of garlic potatoes. Delicious lunch, cheery friendly service.

Stopped here on a Sunday morning for a bite to eat, ordered a small breakfast & eggs/toast etc..not a big deal !! Waited 40minutes and reluctantly asked the waitress would it be much longer, she grunted at me and walked away,no apologies nothing !! Service was terrible. That's when we walked out. Would never go back. (Cafe owner) Maybe you should train your staff a bit better

Lots of cafes in the area, but we chose this one as it was more welcoming and the menu was huge. Cheaper than most of its neighbours, we had a scone, Diet Coke, burger, soup and panini.

Our first visit was by chance, stopping to buy a paper and noticing Mike's coffee shop next door, thought we'd like a coffee - and it was so good that our overseas visitor said she would like to take us there for breakfast next day. And what a breakfast it was, my mini-fry was so good and freshly cooked. And I don't even like breakfast! One of us had the black pudding breakfast, highly praised, and the other had eggs benedict. And the coffee was delicious again. Would like to come back and try the Thai offerings.

Friends recommended a visit here as 'something a little different' for a cafe. From outside and inside decor it's just a cafe serving typical snacks and breakfasts, but it's the special menu we chose off. 4 or 5 Thai dishes to choose from, all only around £6 or £7 but the quality of food when it arrived was fantastic. Great quality and super flavours and all very enjoyable, such a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

Me and the wife popped into Bushmills whilst waiting for the sun to go down as she is a photographer and wanted to get a sunset shot. We had a couple of hours to kill so off we went to look for somewhere to eat...after looking around and noticing a lot of places shut (seriously on an easter sunday when its busy) we came across this cafe..we sat down and a guy (im presuming the manager) gave us a couple of extra menus and said we could choose from them also...i decided to have the gammon steak and garlic chips whilst the wife had chicken goujons, chips, peas..the meals came and we were both surprised at how big the gammon was, it was massive...the meals were as good as anywhere else we have eaten and the prices of this cafe are very cheap..a steak £13 where anywhere else you will pay over 20 quid....we was going to go with dessert afterwards but we were both full..well worth a visit if your hungry.

My son daughter in law and myself called in as there was parking outside. The man who brought the menus was extremely helpful and friendly. The roast dinners were well cooked and presented and there was plentry of it. At a price of only £6.95 you can't get much better. Well worth a visit .

Had visited the distillery, it was late Sunday afternoon, most places closed and we needed a meal before dashing to airport. Doesn't look much from the outside - greasy spoon look about it. BUT THE FOOD - fantastic. Freshly cooked. Fish and chips were up to chip shop standard, Thai curry was very authentic, Ceasar salad very fresh and good amount of chicken, breaded chicken fillet, champ and sauce very tasty. Very reasonably priced

Call here quite often and food extremely good but unfortunately Mike seemed a bit cross yesterday and questioned an innocent request for a warm plate which wasn't meant as being disrespectful but has put me off going back

We had lunch here...it is a cute eatery!. The have a breakfast and lunch menu. REMINDER they do not take credit cards and only take their cash. Finding out after we ate there is a ATM nearby! We had a great burger and chips for 4 pounds. Most food items under6 pounds good deal for the money. I would eat there again. My burger had a tomato relish on it...was to die for good!

Mike is friendly and he makes a great breakfast! We came back the next day because we loved it so much. Great options and all of them tasty. Mike gave us good sight seeing tips as well. Definitely highly recommended. Good prices too.

Bushmills abounds with places to have coffee. Not knowing which was the best venue, I opted for 'local' and chose Mike's for a quick cuppa. No good deed goes unpunished and punished I was, for attempting to support a local business.

What a rude horrible man runs this dive. From the minute we went he he was rude even to my kids. Is you would spend more time learning manners rather that smoking 50 fags a hour it would help you.only thing I can say was your daughter who was about 40 was really nice to us you could see she was really embarrassed by you.

Sólo me metió con un amigo porque queríamos algo fácil y rápido para comer. Mike y la esposa era realmente agradable y servicial. No tuvimos que esperar mucho y la comida era increíble. Los precios son muy buenos. Lo recomiendo de verdad!

First open in the town the morning we were there, decent tea and real coffee not from a pod! Classic old school interior but all good.

Another return visit, as we know exactly what to expect. We had Gammon and Pineapple, Chicken Filter Burger, Kids Fish Fingers and Chips, and the excellent Massaman Thai Curry. New square plates, and usual high standard of food.

Mike's Coffee Shop en el centro de Bushmills no una maravillosa variedad de comidas de la hora del almuerzo. La carne o pollo asados, tradicional a la lasaña de pescado y patatas fritas. Junto con el menú principal también se dio un pequeño menú tailandés. Esta es la realidad, el curry tailandés cambia todos los días, así que tienes que preguntar qué es lo que está en oferta.

Yo estaba muy disgustado con mi visita a la tienda de café de Mike. Yo estaba en un viaje con mi marido y mi madre - nunca había estado en Irlanda o Irlanda del Norte antes. Cuando nos sentamos a comer, Mike era brusco y grosero. Rápidamente nos pedimos y nos trajo la comida. La comida estaba bien, nada fantástico. No me gustó mi plato, y Mike no hizo nada para hacerlo mejor. Que está bien, no esperaba nada. Lo peor ocurrió cuando fuimos a pagar. Habíamos utilizado todas nuestras libras más temprano en el día, pero supuse que podríamos usar nuestras tarjetas para pagar ya no había nada en el restaurante diciendo lo contrario. Mike nos informó rápidamente, en la voz más pomposo, que no aceptan tarjetas y él no aceptaba nuestra euros como él sólo tomó "Sterrrlinggg. "Nos dijeron que ir a un cajero al otro lado de la calle. Desafortunadamente, no tengo ninguna tarjeta de débito para sacar dinero del cajero. Afortunadamente, encontramos a un hombre amable en la calle que negocian nos euros por libras y pudimos pagar Mike. Cuando le informó que debía poner un cartel para que la gente no trate de pagar con una tarjeta de él farfulló" hay carteles de todo derecho" y la insultaron en nosotros de forma grosera. Nunca he visto tan grosero y el comportamiento inapropiado de un propietario de negocios en toda mi vida. No comer aquí. La comida sin duda no vale la pena la experiencia.

Mike's Coffee Shop se encuentra en la diamond en el centro, la rotonda, en el pequeño pueblo de Bushmills. Entrar en el restaurante se puede oír acentos locales y inmediatamente a menudo acentos de todo el mundo. Mi esposa y yo visitamos en muchas ocasiones, se recomienda el sobresaliente, como es la lasaña. Yo casi siempre van por el plato tailandés. El panang curry es excelente, muy recomendable.

We stopped here for breakfast after leaving Ballyness Caravan Park. A great cooked breakfast served by pleasant and friendly staff. We would use this coffee again and recommend you try it next time you visit Bushmills
