The service is super efficient, at the same time friendly and helpful. The food arrived very quickly, looks delicious and tastes amazing. The restaurant decor is cool, with sumo art and cherry blossom on the ceiling. This is clearly a well known and loved restaurant with locals.

This was a takeaway meal. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong food but I am used to tempura with broccoli, carrots, red peppers and other crunchy vegetables and aubegine. This however was mainly sweet potato and maybe cassava I wasn't sure, Shiuld despite a crispy batter it was stodgy... pretty disgusting. We struggled to eat what we did. The rest was binned, sadly. The chow mein was weighty and flavourless as were the tempura prawns. It was also pricey for what it was.

Lovely food, and service really courteous and polite. We had sashimi and bento boxes and green tea. Very conveniently located close to the Shepherd’s Bush Empire so we popped in to have an evening meal before a gig. (We had been once previously for lunch) Tonight I’d like to say a special thank you to Max, for helping out with a little predicament!

Good food, good portions and a lot of choice for a very reasonable price. The place is nice and so is the personnel.

This place is a hidden gem. I came here and tried the Spicy Ramen Noodle Soup. It was very tasty and the portion was just right. I will definitely come back again with friends to try the Soft Shell Crab which I missed.

I am a white gentleman in my 40s and my friend is an African gentleman in his 70s who has lived in London for 60 years since immigrating. My friend wanted to treat me to a meal after our work in W12. He is not from the area. Server at restaurant was very rude to my African friend and would not even serve or look at him. He has trouble hearing. She didn't care. I am actually disabled so they must of thought I was drunk from my stammer and movements. I don't drink. We only asked for tap water as it's all that we wanted. We were only hungry. They demanded he pay in full before they brought any food to us. Took ages for food to come. I was so embarrassed. Average food compared to others with Japanese in London. Dinner with food and without drinks for two cost over £70. Ripoff. I could never go again even though I live in a live in flat 200 yards away.

Awful place! Don’t eat in here. We ordered a soup and it was disgusting and inedible. Overpriced and rude staff, the waitress threw at me and she looked unhappy because we were there. This place should be closed!

All dishes we ordered (soup, salad, spring rolls, variety of sushi) were tasty however very small in size, therefore you need to buy more.

Bit baffled by some of the bad reviews. My partner had sushi which was he said was delicious and I I had the vegetable tempura with miso soup which was also very nice. Reasonable price for London.

We ate with friends at Mikawa on Monday night (12.12.22). The food was terrible! I have no idea what they think they are serving, but it certainly isn't Japanese food. The vegetarian ramen we both had was virtually inedible - my wife barely touched hers and had to eat when we got home. Neither of us has felt particularly well since - of course it could be something else but it is remarkably coincidental! The service was appalling! A complete lack of charm from the staff - it was almost as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. The staff are certainly not Japanese - had they been they would almost certainly have been polite and welcoming. The woman who served us had such a strong accent (probably Chinese), and got angry with us when we couldn't understand her when she announced what it was she was bringing to the table. It was almost comical - rather like an oriental Fawlty Towers - but we were not in the mood to laugh. In any case she would have only shouted at us some more. The food was not worth eating and was certainly not worth the amount we were charged. For the money we paid, you would expect to have been treated with respect rather than ill-concealed contempt. I left Mikawa wishing we had gone to McDonalds instead. We would have got a better meal that's for sure. Oh, and what appeared to be the proprietor seemed to feel it appropriate to walk around the restaurant with what appeared to be a couple of fox furs hanging round his neck! Not sure what look he was going for but it was a bit off-putting. On no account be tempted to eat at this restaurant! Unless of course you enjoy bad food and bad service!

I'm a frequent customer of Mikawa and usually I'm happy with their service. Today, however, I ordered two portions of Uramaki and when I received them the soy sauce was completely missing. So, naturally, I called the restaurant and they simply said that they were a 100% sure they have put it in the box (probably thought I'm blind and don't see). I said, well, now it is not there. And they've tried to blame it on the driver (why on earth would the driver steal a couple of sachets of soy sauce?!). Ultimately, I asked them how would they resolve the situation and they said I live too far from them to deliver the soy sauce. I contacted deliveroo and they issues a refund, however, I was a frequent customer and I'm very disappointed with how the restaurant handled the problem. I won't be ordering from them again.

I've been with a friend today. And this is what I noticed The lady who came to ask how many person does not even smile. I commented that my laksa is very nice but I can't finish so I'm taking the rest away, No Response, I don't know if she is happy with my comment or not..didn't even say thank you. We paid our bill and still no smile or appreciation . Your staff lack customer service Train them. That without customers, business will fail. UNLESS SHE IS RACIST BECAUSE WHEN THE TWO PERSONS LEFT BESIDE OUR TABLE, SHE SMILED AND SAID BYE BYE WITH HER COLLEAGUE. she is not white, I am not white, I am brown, we're both ASEAN.. Customers are always right they say. whoever is that lady, learn to treat people same way you wanted to be treated. Food is okay but a bit pricey compared to eat Tokyo. Eat Tokyo is still the best so far. Mystery Reviewer

I work in White City so my lunch is usually in Waka - fantastic staff , very nice and friendly, food portions are good. In 2 weeks I generate about £75.00 only in Salmon and Rice options (my fav) but now I have to look at other options as they increased at £8.50. Cheaper options around and good quality food too.

I cannot comment on the quality of the food because the service was so appalling that it overshadowed the entire experience. We had made a booking, and the restaurant confirmed it, instructing us to arrive on time. In fact, we arrived five minutes early. However, the staff were extremely busy, so we patiently waited outside the entrance, assuming someone would greet us shortly. When a staff member finally came over, we were shocked to be told there were no tables available. They suggested we either cram five people into a four-person table or leave. Perplexed, we asked why there was no table for us despite having booked in advance. The staff bluntly replied, “You were two minutes late.” We tried explaining that we had been waiting outside for five minutes because no one came to assist us, but the response was even more infuriating. “Sorry, there’s no table available. Take it or leave it,” they said dismissively. This rude and dismissive attitude left us speechless. It’s truly astonishing to encounter such poor service nowadays. Regardless of how good the food might be, such behavior is unacceptable. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
