Midtown Bar + Dining: A Mixed Bag in Holborn Midtown Bar + Dining, nestled within the NYX Hotel in Holborn, offers an intriguing blend of art-pop, modern, and abstract decor. The space is visually striking, with its bold colors and unique design elements. Especially their LED lighting they turn on in the evening for a sort of light show. One of the perks of visiting Midtown is the complimentary self-service popcorn, a nice touch even if you're not a hotel guest. The bar boasts an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages, with Pacifico Mexican Beer being a standout choice for a refreshing drink. However, the cocktails, while decent, are somewhat average. The Strawberry Daiquiri, for instance, lacked the depth of flavor that one might expect from a classic cocktail. Unfortunately, the food menu falls short. The Truffle & Parmesan Fries, for example, were more cheese and garlic than truffle. The dish lacked the distinct, earthy flavor that truffle is known for. Despite these shortcomings, the service at Midtown is commendable. The staff is attentive and friendly. Overall, Midtown Bar + Dining is an okay place for a business meeting or a casual drink. While the ambiance and service are commendable, the food and cocktails could use improvement.

Everything was good and quality product. Waiters took good care of us and we appreciated they warned us the kitchen was about to close fs we wanted to order anything else.

The food and service were great!! Late dinner. Burger was perfect. Wings, delish!!! Everything was great!!!

Probably the worst service we've ever experienced. We had been sitting for a good twenty minutes, but the female server didn't make any effort to come to us. She was simply standing and we knew she saw because she would sometimes look at us. In the end, we just decided to leave. Totally not worth it. Let me add we were there on a Tuesday evening and there were five other customers in the bar.

Been waiting 15 mins to be served and still waiting. There’s 4 people behind the bar and only 1 serving. First and last time here. Exactly the same scenario going up the second time and ignored by staff to the point I had to politely say something. We left and went somewhere else.

I had a dinner here after visiting the British museum. It looked like a nice place to dine but the service has ruined all impression. I found something looking like a broken earring in the salad mix, presented it to the waiter but received not even an apology. Not to mention, the service charge was included in the bill. Terrible experience.

The design of the bar is good. And it has ok collection of cocktails but they taste so so.

We booked this bar well in advance for a work leaving drinks and were bitterly disappointed with the lack of attentive staff and poor customer service. We came on a relatively quiet Thursday evening, but the venue seemed ill-equipped to handle our group of 18, despite pre-booking. We were promised table service but had to wait over 20mins for someone to take orders and a further 15mins wait for drinks to arrive. Beyond the poor service and planning, the bar lacked ambience; there was no music and drinks were quite pricey. Certainly will not be returning.

Service pas au niveau, l'impression que la moitié du staff découvre son boulot ou le déteste (peut être suis je mal tombé mais bon 3 échanges mauvais sur 6 discussions avec le staff, ca fait trop). Indigne d'un 4* (idem accueil hôtel). Une seule personne a relevé le niveau.

The cakes & tea were lovely. The food was mostly seafood (this was booked for me as a gift so I was unaware of the menu options in advance) but the staff didn't explain what the items were or check for allergies. Luckily I didn't eat any before asking someone to confirm contents. Service was slow even though the bar was empty when we arrived and less than half full when we left (even trying to pay took unnecessary time). But it was beautiful to look at.

Service was terrible. Took them 30 mins to serve us one drink and then another 30 minutes to give us our bill after asking twice. Added a service charge to our bill, I can see why… as the service was awful and they must need it.

Surprisingly good and good value for money. Lamb is a tricky meat that’s often poorly cooked and dry; their rack of lamb was perfect. Even if you’re not staying In the hotel and you just want a decent, quiet dinner, it’s worth it. Good service, good food, good prices.

We had a great meal, an excellent tomato soup and tender succlent steak with a lovely gravy...and of course wonderful service.

Stayed here for a Hen weekend recently and loved it. They staff are so lovely and friendly and if we needed anything they were more than happy to help. The hotel was spotless and is in a great location too. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back again : )
