Middle Eight feels classy and like a true 5 star hotel, at great value too. The classic room was very modern and quite large in size by London hotel standards too. The tv with chromecast & the pod machine with fresh milk were appreciated. The area is absolutely amazing, walking distance to theatres, restaurants, bars/cafes, & attractions. Worth noting however that there is no view from the room.

I booked the hotel for the second time. At my first time it was so perfect. At the second time, the first night AC was not working and it was very warm inside the room. They changed my room to two other rooms but the problem was along the whole hotel although I have been telling the staff that the issue in the whole hotel but they keep saying that it could be your room until the Manager Walter has listened to me and believed that yes the issue with the whole hotel not just my room and they send technician the second day. The third day alarm was on twice at 1 AM and 3AM while we were sleeping because someone had cigarette and they have not found him probably from the first time! Breakfast needs to be improved as well. Not good one compared to other hotels Regards,

This stay started out badly as I feel that we were conned by Hotels.com (whom I will never use again). When I tried to cancel, we were told that we could not but in an angry exchange with the hotel (me, not them), the receptionist explained to me that there was very little they could do as Hotels.com were holding the money. Anyway, blah blah, we decided to stay but had minimal expectations for the stay. Like other people on here, we were very pleasantly surprised when we went to store our bags 2 hours early of the check in time and were told that our room was ready. The young lady at reception was super lovely and we were amazed at the hospitality we received throughout our stay in general. The location is perfect - on Great Queen's Street in Covent Garden, right by the Holborn Tube Station. The rooms were great - only issue was the fact that the lighting system seemed super tricky to use, but we got on with it anyway. On our second night we were disturbed twice by the fire alarm going off with no real explanation from the staff at 2am in the morning. I'm guessing they were hoping that most people slept through it, but it was so loud (thankfully, I guess.....) that it really freaked us out. Anyway, long story short, the stay was perfect, the price was competitive, the location was perfect and the staff were lovely. This will probably be our go-to stay now every time we're in London. Thanks for the stay to all the staff at Middle eight!

My wife and I stayed at the Middle Eight for two nights. We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly reception staff (especially Saq). The hotel is very modern and comfortable with very nice bar and lounge facilities. The location is perfect for Convent Garden, The Strand, Trafalgar Square and many of the theatres. We loved it!

The hotel reception is immaculate and stunning. Welcome team are very professional and we were offered drinks while we checked in. We were early, arriving at 1.30 and hoping to store luggage-we were surprised and pleased that our room was ready so could get settled in before going exploring. The room was faultless-so clean and fresh smelling. There was a feeling of luxury about the fixtures and fittings. Lovely to have robes and slippers too. We were left a little plate of macaroons which we enjoyed later. Beautiful, clean and functional bathroom with a selection of toiletries to use. So peaceful, and a really comfortable bed made for a restful night. WouId 100% recommend this place which is close to Covent Garden and the theatres.

Amazing hotel with a super friendly and welcoming staff. I loved everything about Middle Eight … with this one of a kind location … everything is just at your fingertips (Covent Garden). To be honest, the cheapest room in the hotel is smaller than in the pictures, enough for one person but a couple who are used to stay in spacious rooms will find it small. I strongly recommend Middle Eight for the cleanliness and comfort

We had a pre theatre meal booked here before we went to the opera just round the corner. The location was great but our experience was awful. 1st all the starters never came all at once, it was well over 5min for two in our party of four before all the starters could be eaten together. Then when our main meals came I had to wait 15min before mine came, after the other three in our party's had arrived. After telling our party to continue and not wait for me. They had finished before I started! To be fair, a manager did come out and told us that he would comp the bottle of wine that we had, for the problems caused, just as I was finishing my meal. As time now was getting close to the start of the opera we asked for the bill and when it came it was wrong. It was only for £12:50ish, which was in fact all it was worth. We told our wives to head for the opera and we would catch them up. When the bill did arrive for the second time it had down that we had had two bottles of sparkling water when they had forgot to bring the second one out to us. So we asked the waiter to again amend the bill and this time to remove the service charge, as we felt it was inappropriate given the service we received, which they did. All in all a very disappointing, uninspiring pre opera meal, which we will never repeat. Given that it was a wedding Anniversary gift from our companions, they were very disappointed with the whole experience on our behalf.

Middle Eight is a stylish and modern hotel in a convenient location. Just a 5-minute walk from Holborn Station and close to Covent Garden, it's perfect for exploring the city. The hotel itself is sophisticated with art-deco influences, creating a comfortable and inviting ambiance. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well-appointed with thoughtful touches. The bed and pillows were super comfy, and the powerful shower was a plus. The bathroom amenities, including quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, were a nice touch. Breakfast was lovely with wonderful service, and the staff attended to our needs with a smile. However, our check-in experience was a bit disappointing. There seemed to be a language barrier, and we felt rushed and ignored. We had asked for permission to film a week prior to our stay, which wasn't handled properly and caused some hassle on arrival, though it was eventually sorted out. We also noticed other guests receiving welcome Prosecco, which we didn't get. It left us feeling a bit underappreciated given the price we paid, making us think it might be because we didn't pay enough. Despite these minor issues, the overall stay was pleasant. If you're looking to treat yourself and don't mind spending a bit more, Middle Eight is a great choice for a luxurious stay in an accessible part of London.

I stayed two nights bed and breakfast at Middle Eight Hotel. The rooms were very clean and it was unbelievably quiet considering it was so near the centre of London which was heaven. The breakfasts were good and all the staff were lovely especially the dark haired lady who served breakfast but whose name I did not have. She was welcoming and friendly. I used the restaurant on the second evening, the food was good but expensive

Room was a little on the smaller side, however very clean and very functional, we stayed in the Classic Chic. The hotel itself overall was very clean and well presented with nice styling. The location for the hotel is perfect and next to a tube station. The service was sub-par for a 5 star hotel. When I checked in for my honeymoon I was immediately asked if I wanted to upgrade my room for an extra charge. We arrived early after a 23 hour flight and I understood the room wasn’t ready yet (not their fault) I was however told by the staff at the front desk they would come find us at the bar when the room was ready. This never happened I had to go back to reception after sometime to be told the room was ready. When speaking with staff interactions felt cold with forced smiles and lack of attentiveness for a 5 star hotel. We spent money at the restaurant for dinner and had a poor experience. The waitstaff was cold to us, made me feel silly for not knowing “still” water was a charge. Water back home is always free, we are from Australia. The waitstaff only offered still or sparking water and I assumed still was free as I was not told the cost or brand of the water at the time. The waitstaff that served us checked on the table next to us multiple times asking how their meal was and also avoided eye contact with us. We were not asked until we made an obvious comment out loud. I was never asked if I wanted to order another drink and felt very unwelcomed. Did I make a comment at the time ? No. I’m on my honeymoon and I want to enjoy myself, I don’t want to deal with providing feedback for poor service during my stay at what should be 5 star service. This review will suffice. Not going back simply due poor customer service. Do better for a 5 star hotel. At checkout I was called the wrong name (not a miss pronunciation but a completely different name). The house keepers did amazing jobs cleaning the room and they gave me the biggest smiles out of everyone. Maybe have them assist with customer service training and that waitstaff person that made us feel so unwanted. I don’t remember their name but I’m sure you can look up this booking and find out who served us for dinner.

Our stay was wonderful! Saq at the front desk was very kind and personable and even gave us a complementary upgrade in rooms due to our extended stay! The hotel itself is beautiful, very neat and modern design, super clean and had everything we needed. Bed is super soft and comfortable and the shower shampoos/soaps smelled like the spa! Quiet, no construction issues, never heard our neighbors. The best part about this hotel was location! So central to London and super close to Holborn tube station making a trip from the airport very tolerable! We could walk everywhere and there are TONS of options for food and markets just down the street! Bar was also nice, excellent drinks and bartender. The gym is small but had everything we needed! Will definitely stay again next time we are in London!

Stayed for business and light social events in London. Terrific location, whether walking, cabbing, or tubing. Hotel itself is top class, with good value and great rooms. Very nice modern general design, while staff is extremely friendly and professional. The couch bank and small table in the Urban Deluxe rooms is very useful, and the room size is slightly larger than average in my estimation. The fitness space in the lower level is also very well appointed, however a bit tight if more than 4 people are using it. Definitely well equipped though, and even has a large kickboxing bag. Strongly recommend this hotel, and looking forward to returning soon.

The location of Middle Eight Hotel is ideal for the Covent Garden area with Holborn Tube Station a two minute walk. I had asked for an en suite with walk-in shower and for some reason we were allocated a wet room for disabled people. No great problem, but a bit strange! The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet, but the air conditioning released cool air and the control failed to amend this. Breakfast menu was extensive with healthy options, but I couldn't work out what the restaurant is aiming to achieve because it falls far short of what I expected from a 5 star hotel. All that said, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly revisit when in London and would like to thank all staff for their friendly responses to our requests.

We checked into Middle Eight for 1 night during our 10 day stay in London (we had plans change and couldn't extend our other hotels). When we walked into the hotel, we thought this room would be the best one out of our stay during our vacation. It was not. After we received our key, the front desk guy made a comment how we had a bigger than normal room, with street views which is better than any other room. He really hyped it up. We thought "wow, that is so nice". We walked in our room and it was tiny. Had we have chosen this room for our entire 10 day stay, we would've been screwed. Everything was decorated nicely, but the bathroom was very small. I also woke up the next morning with my back killing me from the bed (it was very firm/like a brick, so if that's your thing it could be good). The room decor was very "moody" and had alot of light options which was nice (the make up mirror was a nice touch). Other than that, we weren't really impressed for the amount of money that we spent to stay there.

After a recent stay at Middle Eight, I found the need to send the below email to the manager: Good Morning, My wife and I have just checked out from a stay at Middle Eight. I had booked the stay as a treat for my wife's birthday, and chose your hotel from the reviews I had read online. The reviews do not do the hotel, service and staff justice. We were checked in by Zhanna at the front desk who was welcoming, friendly and professional throughout our stay. She informed us that we had been given an upgrade to one of your suites (Beat), which was incredibly generous and something we were not expecting! She told us the new room was great, and she was absolutely right! The moment we stepped through the door we were blown away! The cleanliness, the luxury and the space surpassed any hotel we have experienced before. On top of the incredible room, there was a lovely hand written note wishing my wife a happy birthday which was such a nice touch and made her feel very special. We went out to a show in the evening, and when we returned we were welcomed by every member of staff we met in the lobby. In the morning we came down for breakfast and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff continued. I did not get the name of our waitress (a lovely Argentinian lady), but she was so warm and accommodating - nothing was too much trouble and she was very attentive. We checked out reluctantly, and again were met by Zhanna who took a genuine interest in how we found our stay. We informed her that we had an amazing time, and that we will be returning in the future. I would like to thank you and your staff for making my wife's birthday so special, it’s a weekend we will never forget. Please pass on my praise and gratitude to Zhanna, our waitress and the rest of your staff who made our stay so memorable. We look forward to staying at Middle Eight again.

The room smelled of smoke. We were told that there is no smoking in any room. We told staff at front desk who listened to my complaint however they didn't offer another room nor do anything about the smell. The smell remained on all my belongings when I arrived back home! I had to wash and air out everything! Also the day before our checkout we asked the front desk for a late checkout and they said OK no problem. We agreed on 2 pm however someone came knocking at the door around 12:00 and I reminded her that we had a late checkout. About an hour later there was a second knock at the door where I promptly jumped up to answer the door and before I could reach the door he had opened the door. We could have been dressing! Again he asked if we were checking out. By this time I had enough of this circus and we decided to leave for the airport early. Also the air was difficult to control. Sometimes it was too hot and sometimes too cold. For these reasons I would not recommend this hotel.

Location, location, location! That's about it! I am normally not one of those guests who complain or ever even requested a room change wherever I stay, but honestly, the amenities in the room and the hotel are barely 4* , not sure how that fifth star was earned? No stacked mini bar in the room except for a bottle of water lol, don't even think there is a room service menu, they outsource the overnight menu from neighbouring restaurants in the area, which is actually a cool thing but 5* hotels should have their own menus. The bathroom amenities aren't the best, to top it off! I'll let you enjoy the view of which I deliberately took a photo of(I never take photos of like food or views or rooms because this ain't really a thing for me) but I found myself reaching out to my phone out of my shock lol , I don't think a 5* hotel anywhere should have a room view of any kind like that! So creepy and just weird! I didn't complain tbh because I was thinking to hell with it, I'm hardly in the hotel anyway! Well it's also safe to say I'll be hardly staying there again!

Was moved here after the Radisson Blu in Kenilworth had a ‘system error’ - was pleasantly surprised. After the lukewarm and slightly patronising ‘welcome’ at the Radisson the staff here were incredibly friendly and helped assuage my frustrations of having to walk another ten minutes across town after work, with a theatre clock ticking. The room was a definite upgrade on what I would have had, with glitzy finishing and a really fresh and upmarket feel to it. Slept like a log. The breakfast team were very friendly, and whilst I only wanted the basics before heading off the freshly-cooked food others had looked fabulous. Not sure about the reviews on air con, I barely noticed it being on and appreciated it being cooler, but I’m sure for some it might be annoying if it doesn’t turn off. I’ve certainly had worse at big name hotels. I think the only thing in the negative column is that the entrance is slightly baffling (put an ‘Entrance’ stencil on the sliding doorway glass perhaps?) as it just looks like you’ve stepped into an impervious box, and the signposting to where the breakfast is (walk through the bar, don’t stand at the check-in for the restaurant section like this plum did for 30 seconds) could be improved.

We were very disappointed about the breakfast who is really very poor with bad quality bread. Only two types of pastries, one bircher and one yoghurt with cereals, everything else had to be ordered extra and you could only take one extra per person otherwise you were charged extra. On the last day there were only chocolate pastries coming from the day before because they were all hard. At our arrival, the indicated that our rooms we have been upgraded and they asked if we were interested to pay more to have another additional upgrade, very surprising as customer service. And at the end we were upgraded on two rooms with view on the air machinery of the hotel! Hopefully I have request to change the rooms and they agree but I have to speak with three different persons in order to change. Another point who is really not aligned with a 5 stars hotel, you can not turn off the air conditioning on your own in your room, and have to ask to a hotel manager to turn it off!

This is not five starts hotel ... Reception Team and Managers are not in five stars hotel level. They were not able to perform simple activities, like late check-in or receiving a package. We were surprised by Manager Patrick approach, which more tried to get rid from customer, instead of providing a service. Important note, hotel is not collaborating with Booking. We were charged extra money by Booking for “no show”, because Reception team was not able to perform appropriately late check-in. The problem is that hotel Managers are ignoring Booking requests to get details about our stay in hotel. I am not recommending this hotel, there are so many other better options in London.

Nice stay that was sadly ruined at the end. Booked this hotel for my pregnant wife’s birthday; staff were accommodating and the room was very nice and clean. They left some lovely macaroons and a “Happy Birthday” note for when we returned from our day out. However, it then started to fall apart. We had to twice ask for extra pillows, we enquired about decaf tea and no-one got back to us (so I assume this is not something they stock). We then had the battle with the air conditioning (mentioned in other reviews) - it kept coming on all night and caused a lot of frustration: the next morning we raised this with reception staff who advised that you need to phone reception and they can turn it off?!? Firstly; it would be good for them to include this on a note in the room to advise their customers but secondly; this is a 5* hotel and customers can’t TURN THE AIR CON OFF?!? Ridiculous! Lastly; we left in the morning to go and get breakfast and took our suitcase to the car. We left some belongings in the room, so we could come back and check out afterwards. We put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door panel. However; when we arrived back, we walked into the room to find that it had been fully serviced as if we had checked out. Luckily, some items were still in the safe where we had left them. The drinks that we had left in the fridge had gone. Yes, they were just drinks but my wife (due to her pregnancy) needs fizzy drinks to help with sickness - especially on car journeys and she was gutted that hers was missing. We went down to reception and explained what had happened. The staff were apologetic and quickly called the domestic staff to try and locate the drinks. After a wait, they advised that they had managed to get the drinks back (again; not sure if they had needed to fish these out of a bin!). It turns out they found 2 of the 3 drinks but not my wife’s fizzy water. By this time, my wife was so upset and just wanted to go home. We weren’t even offered any type of compensatory drink. They had assumed we had checked out and we didn’t, ignored the do not disturb sign and binned our belongings. Not what you would expect from such an establishment. We will not be planning on going back soon or recommending to anyone.

The hotel felt very posh, and checkin was easy. The room was very comfortable, and even had some complimentary items in the mini fridge (still water, sodas, lemonade). The hotel is a block and a half from Holborn Station, and close to all sorts of restaurants. I would certainly stay again!

I hve stayed in the hotel a number of times and its a great choice. one of the best locations wfor those that want to be cloe to the theatre district and covent garden.Close to the shopping areas of Oxford/Regent/Bond Old and New. Next to three of the best tube station for traveling east-west (Holborn and Coven Garden) and south-north (Tottenham Court Road). The hotel has a gym, restaurant (and tons of choices just outside). Rooms are clean and staff is really professional and accommodating. Greatt works guys and I look forward to seeing you soon in few weeks.

We stayed at the Hotel Middle Eight in London for several nights and also took advantage of the breakfast. The size of the rooms is very satisfactory and the staff is always nice and very accommodating. The lobby area is also very inviting and the hotel generally makes a very good impression. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to cleanliness and location.

Very beautiful, luxurious hotel both in terms of its services and its design. The staff (for the most part) are attentive and caring. The room, ultra comfortable, very beautiful, gave us a delicious night. I am removing one star because for a 5-star hotel and at the price of the rooms, it is not normal that breakfast is not included. Also, I had reserved one type of room but I was given another, supposedly to upgrade me, but which did not at all meet my basic selection criteria. They obviously changed rooms for me immediately and are therefore attentive all the same. small downside on weekends: the night club attached to the hotel whose music resonates in part of the hotel and therefore in the rooms.

My recent stay at Middle Eight Hotel in London's Covent Garden was simply delightful. From the exceptional service to the elegant ambiance, this hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The service provided by the staff, particularly Saq, was outstanding. Saq went above and beyond to assist me both online before my arrival and during my stay, ensuring that everything was seamless and enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, blending modern style with classic charm. It offers a serene and inviting atmosphere that is both elegant and accessible. Located in the heart of Covent Garden, Middle Eight Hotel is surrounded by a fantastic neighborhood filled with attractions and dining options. It's the perfect base for exploring the vibrant energy of London. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Middle Eight Hotel and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in London. Many thanks to Saq and the entire team for their excellent hospitality.

Very disappointed as treated myself and best friend to afternoon tea here on Friday, we got moved around 3 times, was told my booking was wrong, even though it was booked through your own website! Had to look for staff to help and was twice asked if we were part of a bigger group, it appears that as we weren't then we were not important enough! The man that finally helped and looked after us was nice and afternoon tea was also nice. Lovely hotel in a good location but staff and service mean we will not return again. As it was not busy I would expect better, even if we weren't staying in the hotel and only having afternoon tea.

I have rarely been this disappointed. This is my second visit to the hotel: the first was good and this past week was a disaster. You pay for a five-star hotel where the air conditioning system works at the level of a two-star hotel. Best of all, the staff knows their air conditioning is a disaster. And they openly admit that. What do we call it when we charge you five stars, but give a service for two stars..? No deduction from the price occurred to them. Just when I thought I had found a hotel for my stays in London, disappointment came… which is a shame because the hotel has an excellent location. However, like many - they do not know how to maintain a high level of service.

Team and managers at receiption were very disappointing. Starting from cancelling our reservation as "no show" after I informed hotel about late check-in, and later on rejecting our parcel's delivery since "search in guests list did not work". Team was very rude (especially manager on duty Patrick) and did not even try to help. Definetly far from being 5 star hotel mainly due to the staff.

Great welcome and friendly service was let down by broken air conditioning in a boiling hot room with no ventilation. The duvet had been washed and not dried correctly so was all clumps of synthetic filling. Disappointing at these prices. Reception said they could have sent an engineer up to fix the a/c but couldn’t understand that wouldn’t be appropriate at midnight on what was supposed to be a romantic break.

We stayed at the hotel for a week, and luckily and “luckily” (more in a second) we stayed in a “Cosy” - small room and in a bigger “Superior” rooms (sorry if I am wrong in the room types). The hotel is located at the end of a streets that is super close to Covent Garden and all its surrounding streets that are filled with theaters , shops, restaurants and pubs. It’s also very close to Holborn and Covent Garden Underground stations. And, if you are not lazy, it would take you less than 30 minutes to get to Oxford Street Circus, Piccadilly and Trafalgar Square - and more. Well, last Friday night we came back to our room at midnight and found that the Air Condition wouldn’t heat the room. When I called the Front Desk, I was promised that someone would take care of that, but after 15 minutes of waiting, we decided to go downstairs - and it appeared that the manager in charge was looking for a solution. When it appeared that there was no solution, we were offered to move to different room. The lady in the front desk came to our room and helped us to move our luggage, so at 1 AM in the morning we found ourself in a bigger and warmer room, where we happily stayed until our checkout. Bottom line - the price is not cheap, but super-highly recommended hotel! Thanks.

Ideally located within walking distance to Covent Garden and Holborn underground stations. Great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The lobby is quaint and they have a quiet lounge for reading or catching up on some work which is convenient. The room is reasonably spaced as per London standards, but the closet is not designed for efficient use it’s too small and inconvenient. The bathroom lighting is an unpleasant shade of bright white. The housekeeping is not great, they are fast but not thorough leaving tissues on nightstands which begs the question what else do they forget to turn down. They are very stingy with refilling water bottles you have to call and request refills. We requested a wake up call and they came up to the room 30 minutes after the requested time which is problematic if you have a flight to catch. Finally, the gym is well equipped with great devices but hosting multiple private training sessions at once makes it very hard for guests to utilize the space. I kept having to move to make space for the personal trainees and their coach. Overall, would recommend Middle Eight great property but I hope these small but meaningful issues are addressed.

Stayed in this beautiful hotel for 2 nights to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday. From the minute we arrived it was so special. Prosecco on arrival. No standing at counters to check in all done from the comfort of the gorgeous lobby with the sweetest receptionist. We were then brought to our room which was modern, fresh and unbelievably comfortable. We spent a few hours on both days in the main bar area. Amazing service and fabulous atmosphere. This hotel is perfect and we can’t wait to stay again. One of the best experiences ever.

A total rip off! Admittedly, this is a tapas bar so to be expected but the quantities served barely amount to £15 on the £75 menu, The presentation was certainly not refined to reflect the price, As for the desserts, nothing was fresh to the point that someone in our party even spat out the cheese cake, Just looking at the menu I did expect it to be disappointing and it lived to its expectations.

We loved our lunch at Carrots and Daikon yesterday. I had the garlic tofu Banh mi and my husband had the tofu lunch box. The baguette forming my Banh mi was the perfect combination of crunch with a soft centre and the tofu was nicely garlicky. What really made our day were the ice creams! The chrysanthemum and mango ice cream was such a fantastic combination and the matcha and pistachio was delicious too. We then bought one of each of the other flavours and I must admit that the combinations are creative genius! Who would’ve thought that mint choc chip would go with coffee and raspberry and jasmine tea with its floral notes would hit the spot?! I thought that the coconut and lemongrass was super refreshing too. Thank you to the friendly folk at C & D.

Ordered a bacon and sausage sandwich. The food came really fast, and ok service. The sandwich bread were falling apart. I liked that there was a lot of meat on the sandwich, however not much else was added. Overall a bit dissapointed given all the other great reviewes.
