Amazing Fish n Chips for miles! Staff super friendly and great portions! Cod was crispy, chip was lovely with mushy peas!

This is far from a great fish and chip shop. The welcome was not warm. The fish was okay but chips not so good and for portion served vastly overpriced. Not boxed just wrapped in paper. we will look else where for fish and chips in the future

All round not the best. Wrapped in paper and not boxed so not so easy to carry. Fish was broken in two . Chips cost £3.65 no option of small chips at a lesser price. I have eaten a lot tastier fish and chips at lower prices recently. The Service was efficient but not welcoming. We will be going elsewhere next time

We were not give a warm welcome far from it we were greeted with what appeared to.be a grunt. When our fish.and chips were ready it was poorly pa package. Whilst the food was very nice it should be for the price paid

Had 3 portions of fish and 2 chips. The fish had so much hard batter on it, could hardly taste the fish. The chips were greasy. Will not be back

My husband and I bought our Friday evening treat and it was amazing as usual. Rock fish delicious, scampi to die for. OMFG the chips were amazing. This little place in Bookham is definitely the best fish and chips around.

Really nice fish and chips with lots of different options from fish to sausage. Based in bookham there is parking but not very much so you may need to park nearby. Friendly family business and affordable prices. You have to go to the store to pick up the food

Food is always good but the large chips is more like a child's small and things just seem really overpriced

The fish and chiips here are freshly cooked and nice but in our view a lot ocerpriced, We could not believe there were served in grease proff paper rather than a box. Very poorly packaged.

Always friends service. excellent fish melts in the mouth worth every penny. My son always has the sausage and it’s his favourite. Would definitely recommend

The plus point is the food was nice and fresh. However we considered it was vastly over priced for the advertised small portions. Also a rarity nowadays it was not boxed up and we found the service being very disinterested and surly. Probably will look elsewhere for our fish and chips in future where it will be better value.

The best point about Michael's is the food is freshly cooked. The service was very efficient and friendly. We were informed we needed to wait for six minutes whilst the fish was being cooked which we found reassuring. When the food was served it was wrapped in greaseproof paper (yes there was some grease) rather than a box which is much better. We thought even in the current climate £7.80 for a small cod and £2.50 for a small chips was over the top more expensive than other fish and chip takeaways we have been to recently.

Been here many times .The quality of the food is good and the staff are friendly . The portions are good value .

Can always rely on the food and the friendly service and enjoy fish and chips fairly regularly. I know that people come from miles away to get their food here and I can understand why. I would do this but thankfully don't have to as we live locally. Looking forward to buying fish and chips again tonight in lockdown as something to look forward to.

Delicious fish and chips yet again. The service is good even through CV distancing. These people are very pleasant and helpful. The shop is beautifully clean and good portion sizes.

I like to think I am a bit of an expert on what constitutes good fish and chips, have eaten a lot in various places. I regularly buy fish and chips here and as long as you get them fresh out of the cooker, you really can’t fault it. The queue can be a bit tedious, but that’s all down to their popularity.

Once again I get home to find I do NOT have what I have ordered. This isn't the first, second or fifth time this has happened it's becoming a regular occurrence. I ordered 5 meals each different, each with chips, I get home to find that two have been combined, i.e. 2 battered sausages and chips AND 1 savaloy and chips becomes chips with 3 sausages. SORT IT OUT I paid for 5 meals not 3 and two combined. It's too far to go back and sort it out and too much hassle (they won't answer the phone). I talk slowly when ordering just so this won't happen FFS.

Just been to get 2 fish, large chips, sausage in batter and a saveloy.What a load of rubbish!! The ‘Large’ portion of chips would of fitted in a cone!They were dry and tasteless.The sausage in batter was the length of my little finger with hardly any batter on it.The saveloy was the same length!!The fish had no taste and again very small portion! All came to £19.00!Rip off, will definitely not be back.Serving staff were also rude with no customer service skills!

Waited over 20 minutes for a food order which I regretted placing. Counter staff chose to serve others arriving after me before taking my order who they clearly knew, then I was ignored whilst 8 people who placed orders after me got theirs first. It seems they look after their favourite customers and unknowns get very poor service.I won't be returning.

A high quality fish and chip shop,always a que obviously a significant good sign on quality and service. Other food choices available and value for money.

Honestly, I've tried a few Fish & Chip shops around here and they were mostly rubbish (the worst being Superfish in Ashtead) but Michales was fantastic, fish was cooed to perfection and the chips were perfect. Very fast too. All was great except the chicken which was too dry for my liking but Fish and chips from here are the best for miles.

Chips were small portion, not good value for the price/size, no service with a smile, any conversation or interaction. Popped in as it was handy as was visiting, would say it was great.

This shop serves the best fish and chips for miles around. The food is always cooked fresh and with ample helpings, and reasonbly priced. The shop is always clean, neat and tidy and the owners are cheerful and welcoming.I would not go anywhere else.They also offer other dishes and have many options of they menu boardAll the family work in the shop

Just had my first fish and chips from Michaels in about 20 years, I think it will be at least that long before I bother trying it again. Plaice, chips and a curry roll. By the time I’d gotten home, about 3 minutes, the bag was soaked through with oil, the curry roll looked like it had been run over, was limp and soggy and the batter was on the fish was much the same. I’m going to go get a kebab and chuck the fish and chips out for the foxes, although I’d be surprised if they’d eat it

A regular chippie for a quick dinner! Always polite and serve hot scummy food! Erm 100 words? Erm our favorites are pineapple fritters, saugages and of course the delicious flaky cod!

This is our regular fish and chip shop and the quality and service are excellent. It is very popular with the locals and all the food is cooked fresh. My son particularly likes the cod and I love the rock. Thank you

Convenient but getting pricy. Can have a sit down lunch at the local Chef &Brewer; (Ye Olde Windsor) for less. I know where I would rather eat ! Had a small cod and chips for £6.40 but Windsor Castle offers a lunch menu which includes cod chips and peas with all the trimmings for £6 and you can get 25% off most meals with a Gourmet Card which is available online for trial 3 months for£1.

The very fact that this shop continues to thrive speaks volumes. The staff are great and so is the food.

Nos hemos trasladado a la zona y necesitaba una comida fácil entre todos el desempaquetado. Gran patatas fritas a un precio estupendo. Compañero ordenados una salchicha maltratadas y lo disfruté. Vuelto aquí varias veces y nunca me ha decepcionado. Servicio rápido también. Estamos en y fuera en 3 - 5 minutos normalmente. El personal parece amable y trabajan super rápido.

We come to Michaels once a month to buy a fish and chip treat. The food is always good,generally cooked fresh rather than sitting in a warming hatch. The service is quick, efficient and always with a smile.

I had a portion of chips ( lukewarm ) and battered cod. The fish was overcooked and the batter soggy. Can't guess how long it had been under the warming lights.

Great food and very friendly owners. Food was qcell cooked to order and was delicious and piping hot, and very generous sized portions.

We arrived back from holiday - nothing in the fridge and very hungry. The fish and chips were excellent and piping hot - a real requirement for my husband! Absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Went here today and have been going here for years, I'm not a massive lover of chips but being English I owe it to myself to eat them once in a while, even though I never finish them. But today I finished the whole lot. Just sooooo good and there is not competition for this place for miles. If you haven't eaten here then you should. The fish is in a beautiful batter and not too heavy, the chips are light and golden and fluffy. The staff are always happy which is a great thing to go in and see. 10 Stars for Michael's!!!!

Michaels is our local Fish and Chip place. The food is lovely, the family is a really hard working family, they will cook to order. Nothing is too much trouble. :-)

I've been here a few times, but the chips are often greasy, the fish is OK, but is far too expensive for average portions and average food.There other takeaways locally, which offer well cooked chips, crispy batter on fresh fish and better priced.

I telephoned my order ahead which saved waiting too long and was served quite quickly on arrival.Very popular on a friday evening about 7pm, several people waiting for dishes to be cooked.We ordered small Haddock which was good, the chips were a little soggy in my opinion, perhaps needed hotter fat or cooking a few minutes longer.It appeared to be a happy, family business, I will use it again!

3 cod and chips ordered. Now I am no expert on fish but I do know cod when I see it and this was not Cod. Chips soggy and stuck together in a ball and nasty after taste. Attitude of server stone cold.
