Meze Turkish bar and grill in Liverpool

Was in Troughton for business looked at web day before it was 5 min away from my hotel. On arrival staff refuse to pay by business card. Have to order pizza over the road from Domino's. Waste my time. Have a take away diner in Portsmouth day before in no issues with payment. The Mezze turkish grill and restaurant.

I recently purchased a voucher from Groupon for Meze. I was not able to contact them by phone to book. I thought I would go and pay a visit, as I live near the restaurant. When I arrived the place was like a building site. I asked the workmen what was going on, he said it was no longer Meze, but was going to be a Mexican now. I rung Groupon and told, they refused to give me my money back, just a credit! I told them the situation,and they should stop selling the deal on Groupon, they just said they will continue you to sell the deal because they had not been notified by Meze! So everyone who buys this deal, which is still being sold on there site will just get a credit note. I think Groupon are way out of order still selling this deal, when I have told them the situation. Its there duty to contact the owner to investigate. Oh by the way, this is about 5 weeks ago, I told them. Be warned!!!!

10 of us went for my grandads 90th birthday meal. The night was amazing they made my nan and grandad feel so special. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional, so friendly and helpful. will definitely be back soon.

Nice restaurant and nice staff but food was moe English than Turkish style not enough sauce with my Adana kebab and salad not very Turkish the half of tomato no cooked enough nor the green pepper but well presented and good kebab

Ordered the Meze Special and calamari to share. Very good value for money and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going back.

Been to this restaurant 4 times now and always found the staff to be very good, the food delicious, a relaxed atmosphere and lovely music. Will definitely be dining there again.

Headed to Lark Lane whilst in Liverpool on business, found Meze and wasn't disapointed. Very generous portions and the Mixed Grill was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, hard to fault really and a nice part of Liverpool away from the Centre.

Tonight we booked Meze for my husbands Birthday. A rare night out without the kids so really looking forward to a nice meal and some time to chill out. I have to say the food was just about ok. The wine list was limited and we had to select from only a few as most were out of stock. In terms of starters we were really disappointed in the prawns which lacked any taste. The main course was definitely large but again lacked flavour. Generally the staff were pleasant until they asked for feedback. Having expressed our honest opinion we were not offered any recourse except to be landed the bill. After some awkward conversation with our waitress we eventually met the manager/ supervisor. Not sure what her role was, but she was extremely hostile and rude. Apparently we were being watched from the get go as we had asked to sample the ‘limited’ wine menu. I am outraged to think we were being ‘watched’ on cctv because we asked to sample one wine. This was clearly interpreted in a negative way that we wanted to check the wine before buying a whole bottle. I would never recommend this restaurant after what unravelled from this point. At 20.50;pm the restaurant was empty bar one other couple who heard the unpleasant exchange that then took place. The manageress/ supervisor was only interested in setting the bill, she had no interest in receiving feedback and then disclosed she had been watching us all along ??? This is highly inappropriate. A simple gesture would have made all the difference. A coffee, an acknowledgement, or NO hostility would have done the trick. We actually left without paying, we have NEVER not paid for a meal before. In fact the money sits here waiting to paid. No issue with that. I would love to hear from the Manager/ Supervisor/ ? Outraged to say the least.

Went early from work for the earlybird menu. Quiet which suited us - waitress looked after us really well and happily talked us through the menu. Food was lovely - all hot and very tasty. Think we all cleared our plates! Got busier but there was no rush for us to vacate our table as we enjoyed dessert and coffee. Great price - will be back!

The food here was excellent it was great place to eat. The menu had a variety of different meals to choose and the atmosphere was incredible. The waitress with the purple hair was very helpful and her service was amazing. Definitely coming here again.

The Meze Special really is special. Although presented as a sharing starter it is big enough for a shared main, and at £14.50 is fantastic value. Very quick and friendly service
