Anar Turkish BBQ Restaurant in Liverpool

I regretted going to the birthday reservation I made today. The person I learned was the kitchen chef did not insult us because of the glitter that spilled while blowing the cake. We ask ANAR restaurant, which I go to with pleasure, to warn such a disrespectful employee.

After been waiting in the table for 15minutes, and my daughter ask me for eat, decided to leave restaurant, as NOBODY aprouch to ask, even for drinks. Really desapointed. Not just for me. I been there several times, and restaurant didn't was busy anyway. Other customers been seat and served before us, not recommended if u are Caucasian.

Brilliant place,staff is very professional.

Poor service, they will literally ignore you and not paying attention n to you and I literally waited 10min for spoon and extra plate.

Excellent supermarket, what can I say.

The Food here is great quality, the menu has good variety and in my opinion something for everyone! The atmosphere can be more quiet and loud depending on where you sit. The staff are very accommodating with any requests, they do make you feel as if they’re always there to help! Price is fair and there’s alcohol served here at an affordable price, there’s also a smoking area.

The best Turkish restaurant in Liverpool. I always go for the shared hot mezze as starter and the mixed kebab for main course. And if you want to enter the Turkish spirit get a bottle of Raki to go with your meal.

Dingy atmosphere, lots of TV screens with turkish pop songs, not really appropriate for children to be staring at. Food portions were so small, especially the Iskender. The lamb was tasty but such a small portion for £17!! The chicken shish was also £17.50 for 1 skewer of chicken pieces, unbelievable. Average taste. They didn't let us swap the rice to chips so 3 portions of rice were wasted as the rice was too mushy and buttery, it was too sickly honestly. I got the chicken sarma, it was too oily, I couldn't finish it. The manager wasn't friendly on entering or leaving, he held the door open for us to leave, without saying bye and not a smile in sight. The waitress was nice at least. Overall genuinely really bad experience for the prices paid you would expect some good manners and welcoming attitude. Also water served in plastic cups. How strange, and cheapskate. No pide or lahmacun on the menu. Perhaps I'm more critical as a Turkish person but really there are much better places in Manchester and this place should take note and raise their standards a bit...

This was out first visit here and definitely not our last. Food tasted fresh and clean, and you could taste all the flavours. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Stan was a great hostess. Thank you for a great first experience. We will be back

One of my favourite place for it’s stunning Food and atmosphere. Best turkish food but rice is too much in mix plater. Should be less rice with proper cooking. Lamb ribs are really nice among them. And Bread serve with plater also should be more soft.

We went there a few minutes after 9 and the waiter was so rude. He told us they close at 10 and it’s not his problem what we would do if it got to 10 as we had to leave. The food was good but the portions were not enough.

The food at the restaurant was terrible. The meat was undercooked, the rice was awful, and it really ruined our Christmas day by eating this meal.

Staff cared and was attentive to all my family,food amazing everyone was full and also we took home some food because can’t finish in restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our second staff meal here. I got the lamb sarma both times. Everyone is always very satisfied with their food!

We booked this restaurant cause it resembles the one we originally wanted to go to but couldn’t find any tables even though we were trying to book 2 months in advance but we’re very disappointed with the food portions. ordered for 4 plate but honestly that meal looked like it was for two people if it was in elif restaurant. really disappointed by that but the actual food was good just the tiny portions for 65£ was not worth it at all and disappointing won’t be going there again. And the bread was hard like it was just sat there for hours not fresh at all the side salad was also disappointing but service was great the atmosphere was good as well.

I’m sorry to say this but the quality of food really gone down, we had a takeaway around 5pm and was not busy at all, but they manage to miss all the side orders. Ordered 2 Sharma suppose to come with 2 rice and 2 salad with deeps, they only send 1 salad and 1 deep no rice at all, the food was bland and falafel undercook. Use to be soo good but really disappointed in my last visit. The manager told me he going to look after me next time, we’ll see if improve.

I am sorry to say that I was disappointed. The restaurant was nicely designed but the food was tasteless, the waiters did not smile and it took time to fulfill our requests. For example, we had to ask 4 different waiters for 2 drinks, the bread was very stale and tasteless. We ordered lam rips but there was no meat, it was covered with fat, I ordered lam saute, since the plate was hot, they ordered the plate on a small bread basket so that it would not damage the table (I think). No one said goodbye, see you or goodbye to us when we left the door. I think saying it as a courtesy would benefit every workplace. I hope the owner of the business reads this and fixes these deficiencies.

Reservamos una mesa para 8 en cuanto entramos nos sentamos desde entonces todo era bueno, desde pedir hasta bebidas. El personal se viste muy bien. No podía elegir uno, ya que toda la buena comida era buena. Conseguí kabab mixto para 2 de nosotros. Otros recibieron comidas diferentes. Todos dijeron que bueno volvería de nuevo.

A little disappointed, bland food and a dull atmosphere... Garlic mushrooms drowned in cream with no flavour or seasoning, a large portion but totally wasted in a pint of cream, bread was stale and as rough as boot leather... Both had Chicken Shish, chicken was overcooked, rough and again bland. Rice was stodgy and lacked flavour. 1st and last time visiting Anar, it was mediocre at best.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had I’ve been multiple times and always love it the food is amazing the service is excellent and it’s always so clean. No matter what time you go you will have a great time.

Came in and the waitress was rude

First time here at Anar, lovely atmosfere, food cooked lovely. It brought me back memories from my own home country (which is not turkey) but we have a huge turkish influence in our cousine. Very homely and turkish autentic which i love. Staff was very acomodating, attentive, dishes cleaned off the table straight away, prompt service, we didnt waited long for any of our dishes of drink orders. Not one reason to be unhappy with food or service, and was my birthday treat. Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

Mixed kebab everytime I visit....One of my favourite places to go for a kebab...I do need to try other meals in the future though...

Nice food. But I've had better turkish food in Germany. Adana kebab was dry and too salty.

Fantastic food and service. There isn't a designated prayer area, but the staff were happy to give us a corner to pray. Really nice people.

Everything about this restaurant was first class

Muy caro para lo que se obtiene, la mayoría del kebab mixto eran alitas de pollo, que es muy barato, no hay mucha ensalada que todavía teníamos hambre cuando nos fuimos, en general es una estafa

First time visiting for my nieces 16th birthday and we had a lovely evening our waitress was Stan she was lovely food was amazing and plenty of it would highly recommend the kebab for 2, the staff made a big fuss of our niece all singing and playing a drum made her feel special we will defo come again

Had a fantastic dining experience at Anar Turkish Restaurant with my family. We ordered the mixed kebab for four, and it was not only incredibly tasty but also generously portioned—easily enough for five of us! The flavors were spot on, and every dish was fresh and well-prepared. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. One of the worst customer service and uncooked food. They have new staff woman. She was very rude. She wanted us to ordered for 8 people even though one of our guest was on diet. Next time duman restaurant never anar.

Very bad service waitres is very bad manners and food is cold and food come without breads we ask for bread so she tell me we charged sauces and breads we are go there with our guests we feel much shame and i go to reception and i request plz change the waitres and next waitres is great but we are regular customer neve go there.i recomend all customers go to dhuman L9 and istanbool Manchester is excellent customers service

I am really sad to take my time to come and write this review. The service and the food was good up until the end Where one of the staff was quite rude and passive aggressive. They made a mistake on our bill and the waiter was gaslighting us and didn’t wanna accept that they made a mistake. He made snarky comments to make us feel like we didn’t wanna pay or couldn’t pay, even tho we were trying to explain the situation and solve it.To then later find out that they’ve put a wrong order on our bill. We did not get any apologies and they were still acting as of though we were in the wrong. I felt disrespected and the way that they handled the situation was very disrespectful and shameful. Personally, I will not be back. Please train your staff to be mindful on how they approach, treat and deal with customers. Food and drink was nice

Food hot and absolutley lovely. It was quiet but service wasn't as should be or has been in past .staff standing round talking had to wait to catch their attention .

Excellent food 😋 👌 real authentic Turkish grilled food . I had the platter for two quite big but I ate it all unreal tasting . Then there's the deserts on offer just woww I went for the biscoff cheesecake , So I'd highly recommend anar especially the meat eaters !!!

Just been for the first time, the food was delicious and top quality. The portion size was very generous. The staff were fantastic and really nice. Highly recommended.

I went this morning, the 25th of August, around 9:30am, and a guy name Boris (don't know if he gave me a right name or not) came to take my order. I wanted to get 3 portion of Supreme Breakfast, taking away for my family at home, which was £90, he said no, we do not do this kind of breakfast as a take away, I said can you please explain why you don't ? He said no, no, my manager told me not to do this breakfast for taking away, I said can you ask your manager the reason, he said no, and he was super rude. Then I came to Istanbul's Bar & Grill in Woolton, he was super friendly and I ordered turkish breakfast for 7 people, and I was super happy. I am super angry with Anar customer service and I don't know why they did let me down with that much rudeness. I live in London and often comes to Liverpool as a member of my family is here, always have this breakfast inside Anar restaurant, and it was the first time that I wanted to do takeaways, really sorry for the management and the rude server, I will not come to your restaurant ever again and I will let others know about your behaviour and rudeness, terrible service 👎🏼

That's why they're rated top don't get me wrong Food only 2 stars why ? The portion is very small for the price. If in Liverpool I pay £26 for a mixed grill I had the same for 50% in Leeds. If I pay £39 for a bigger portion and given a smaller portion like a £26 pound worth you'd think twice but taste ok. Just the smaller portioning on the serving. Also, they try to hide the bread along with the real meat in the sauce. We're paying for meat not bread but 50% or 60% in the dish was bread. Come on.

One of the best restaurants in Liverpool, we celebrated my husband 30th birthday. Staff cared and was attentive to all my family,food amazing everyone was full and also we took home some food because can’t finish in restaurant. Highly recommended to everyone. Big thanks to all staff !!!

A very wonderful restaurant. There anyone can taste Turkish and oriental food, and enjoy a good time in the company and care of the staff who care about every little thing to satisfy the customers.

Went here for dinner with my parents a couple of weeks ago, we were all thoroughly impressed with both the food (quality and quantity!!) and service. Unfortunately we didn't get our waitress's name but she was delightful. There was a small mistake with our order and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience nice.

I've had many a takeaway from here and its always good, not today Sunday, chips absolutely freezing, salad bowl half empty no lettuce bit spare, and rice was really wet. I think next time I will go to town and order from another Turkish restaurant.

The ribs had more salt on them then the Pacific ocean. If it wasn't for our lovely . Amazing server I would boycott the place... however she made us want to try again

Fantastic food 👌🏻 This tops Elif, my previously favourite Turkish restaurant in Liverpool. I visited with 2 friends, and was glad we booked, as even on a Monday evening it was busy. The food was delicious, plentiful and served quickly - right off the charcoal grill! Would highly recommend the Adana kebab and mixed grill to anyone struggling to decide. I’d definitely come back and will be bringing my friend and family with me!

After a long drive from falkirk Scotland we arrived here in Liverpool on Monday and came across this restaurant. The food was really delicious and cooked to perfection we really enjoyed the Sarma and Adana kofta. I would’ve been a 5 star if we weren’t disappointed on the chicken wings there were so tiny for the price you pay for them. Like you get 8 to 9 pieces but there so small and not worth the price and another thing most restaurants swap rice for chips but the waitress was like no u have to pay extra for the chips which was odd as kids don’t really eat rice and my kids wanted chicken wings with chips not rice. Other than that is was really good and the atmosphere was good.

Love everything about it. The place is comfortable with plenty seats. The music is not too loud. Various choices of menu with great taste, appropriate price and portion. Fast services.

Literally must be one of the best Turkish restaurants in the north west nevermind Liverpool. The food is always fresh and tasty whilst remaining very competitively priced! Id recommend the Adana kebab and chicken shish, also the feta cheese spring roll starter!

Promised so much yet failed to deliver. First off they didn't have the drink I ordered so they replaced it for another without even mentioning it. The food was mediocre at best. We had the mixed kebab for two. The rice was extremely over cooked. Food portions weren't great for the forty quid it cost for the main course. The only shining light was the baklava and ice cream that was delicious. The atmosphere was more school canteen than a restaurant for grown ups. Don't know which was more annoying. The fact that most tables had an annoying loud mouth or them banging that bloody drum every few minutes! Won't visit again. Not impressed over all.

BE CAREFUL Scam! I received a debit in my credit card for £180 from this restaurant. I don’t live in the UK, I have never been there . I called the restaurant and they were super rude to me , and they just hung up on me . I am reporting this to the police

The food was very delicious, especially the mixed grill, and the service was wonderful, especially the girl who was wearing a hijab.

We often go here for lunch and to be honest today it was awful. We asked for a table in the back where we usually sit as our friend has a bad back and the taller seats against the wall are more comfortable for her. Breakfast is advertised as being served until 3.00. it was approximately 1.15. We were told we could sit at the front corner table and only given the main menu not breakfast, I presume he was the manager but he was unsmiling and quite unfriendly and we did not feel welcome at all. The usual friendly server laid the table she is always very good, had a quick chat and a friendly word. Then a young server took our order. Once the food had been served noone asked if it was okay. The sausage was so over cooked it was like leather. We couldn't send it back as noone came near us. About 20 minutes sitting with our used plates still in front of us, we had to ask the first server to clear. He just waved and walked away. We spoke to a different server and asked for coffee etc. He cleared the dishes. The first server then came back with our bill and we explained we had ordered more items. To be honest it was dire. It was only the lady and the second server who showed any welcoming, professional behaviour. Thank you.

Been here for the first time tonight. Booked at short notice - advised that we needed to & managed to get a table with 40 minutes notice. Excellent quality food. My steak salad was gorgeous & my friends food looked delicious. Really high quality meat. Wonderfully attentive staff. Will definitely return

The first meal I ordered was on the cold side and without hesitation the meal was replaced and actually upgraded. The lamb was some of nicest meat I've ever had and I've been to Greece, Turkey and Marrakesh and yep this was stunning. First time here and will be back!
