We visit regularly this restaurant, and we always feel very satisfied with the food, service and whole experience. Today we visit for the Halloween and my daughter loved it. Pumpkin carving, games, and as always delicious food. Thank you. We be back soon.

3rd year coming here for a birthday meal and it has been great every time! The food quality and presentation is amazing. Great value for money for what you get! It’s like being back in Greece on a holiday (minus the weather 😂) We came as a family and the children’s meals were superb, not one of our 3 children complained. Staff were very friendly and patient when it came to ordering. They were always on hand when we wanted to order extra drinks. Highly recommended ordering the meze as it’s a great way to try different Greek food. The food kept coming and coming & we felt well satisfied at the end. Thank you very much 😊

Really enjoyed visiting your restaurant on Friday evening. We hadn’t booked and were warmly welcomed by the young server. Food cooked perfectly and all at a reasonable price. Have read some negative reviews concerning this place and they must be crazy! Well worth a visit!

Very tasty dishes. We loved the lights and decor of the inside and outside seating areas. There was a lovely relaxed ambience.

First time trying this place tonight, not sure why I left it so long! Service was spot on very friendly and knowledgeable. Great food, loved the meat meze, lots of flavour and tried things I wouldn't normally, we polished the lot off! We will be back soon, this could, intact this will be one of our go to places now. Do try it if you haven't.

Second visit. Both meh and lacklustre Food is quite expensive for what it is. basic taverna/Street Foods. Have eaten at better Greek tavernas both in Athens Thesaloniki and many islands. As well as uk. Service was meh...asked for non alcohol drink served alcohol despite showing the menue of non alcoholic drinks and stating i wanted a nonalcoholic drink. Served an alcoholic drink. Billed for it, then not charged for it. Not really wowed by this place, I would give it a miss. Both times I have not been impressed.

Independent local restaurant, great service, family run, big portions, great selection of veggie and gluten free options! Great food. Indoor and outdoor dining.

Brilliant place lovely marinated pork and chicken skewers with marinated salads although chips was cooked in too much oil and tasted disgusting I believe it was from one of those oven baked chips so it had a huge amount of oil inside service great and fast outside a bit of mess felt like some tables was not available due to bins being there and some other things this is my second visit after 4 years I came back again and this time place wasn’t as tidy as before but in overall it’s a good experience and I would return definitely again it’s a lovely restaurant

OMG where do we begin? We have literally just left this place! We are on holiday for my girlfriend’s birthday in a lodge in Ellesmere. We went out for dinner as a four, we didn’t book anywhere as we didn’t know the area so we thought we would walk into town and find somewhere. After getting a few knock backs from various restaurants as it was a Saturday night so quite expected we walked past this place. We got a table straight away and that should have set the alarm bells off. We went in and the place is nice inside, within minutes there was a make member of staff crying quite visibly behind the bar on the phone, none of our business so we didn’t take much notice and to be fair neither did the two other staff members with him, so I hope this guy is ok. We ordered a Meze between three and a separate main of the a chicken with cream dish. The food came out as it should and quite quickly however the quality and taste was not for us, the chicken and pork was really dry and in my experience was frozen meat then thawed and cooked. When the bill came I myself told the server in these exact words “ Would you like some feedback” ? She said yes I said “we thought on the whole the food wasn’t that great and the meat was terrible” She said sorry and would feed this back to the kitchen. I said “we want to pay and don’t want any money off etc” the other lady came and took payment in full like we requested and again I explained the food wasn’t great, after this we left with no issues and didn’t cause any scene etc Myself and my partners dad waited outside while the girls went the Coop next door. After 5-10 minutes they came out and we started to walk back to our car. Then to our absolute amazement some women ran out the restaurant in absolute rage shouting at me saying “are you the man that just complained” I said yes “she was shouting at me that I upset her staff and invited me into the kitchen so see her staff “slaving away over hot coals all day” Honestly in all my life I have never felt so shocked by this outburst, we didn’t like the food we didn’t cause a scene and paid for everything without question! To then be chased by some angry woman shouting at me in the street because she didn’t like our feedback absolutely astounded us! Listen to your customers and never publicly abuse them in the street, we were not rude and we paid for everything without argument at all. Disgusting service from this woman after her Staff where really pleasant throughout the service. Avoid Avoid Avoid unless you like to be screamed at in the street! I welcome your comments and a sincere apology to the way we where spoken to when we showed nothing but curtsey to your staff?

Regulars here. Food reliably good. Prices, like everywhere else, beginning to rise. Polite staff. Went again last night. The menu really needs a bit of a rejig - it’s been practically the same for the last several years. For holiday makers that’s OK but for the locals it’s a bit samey. Notably it wasn’t that busy last night. The prices have continued to rise - we’ll probably leave it a few months before coming back. We used to dine here monthly but without a bit of variety in the menu it’s unlikely we’ll be returning soon. Maybe they need a “specials” menu and a little more variety for pescatarians or vegetarians.

Came as a party of 5 to celebrate a couple of birthdays. Decided that we would all have meat meze. Decided that 4 meze between 5 of us would be plenty, in fact I think we could of had 3 between 5. All the meze was extremely plentiful... especially the souvlaki, which was delicious. We enjoyed all of our food and all took doggy bags back. Only negative was that the waitress could of been a little more informative... We weren't sure what (if anything) was coming next... None of us were completely aware of what we were getting, although delicious... A little more awareness would of helped our very full tummy's!

Had a truly delicious meal here last night. Chose a selection of the appetizers rather than a main and they were all delicious. Excellent service, highly recommend. Good for vegan and vegetarian as well.

Second visit to Meze at Ellesmere. Hot tasty food, authentic Greek meze. Good range of drinks on offer. Service was professional and relaxing and vibrant atmosphere.

Gorgeous family-friendly restaurant. We ordered a range of starters to share plus a Greek salad - everything came out piping hot and fresh. The courgette fritters and Greek sausage were the favourites, the Greek sausage came in a delicious garlicky sauce. Cocktails are 2-4-1 on Thursdays. Food for two (plus toddler), two rounds of cocktails, beer and soft drinks came to just over £70 which I felt was reasonable.

Went for Mother’s Day lunch, the food was great had the meze, 3 meat 1 veggie, lots of variety and plenty for 4 people, staff where excellent, friendly and accommodating, service was quick with food piping hot, a really nice touch was mums where given a glass of fizz, card & a small bouquet of flowers, well done everyone

We had been really looking forward to our night out here but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The restaurant was very cold and I ended up sat on a cushion with a blanket on my lap. After sitting us down, the waitresses disappeared into the other room and we had to go and ask for a bottle of wine. We ordered the set meal which was tasty but it was all very rushed, food just kept arriving on the table before we'd finished what we were eating. We asked for it to be slowed down but we were told this was the experience and how they liked to do it. We ended up in and out in an hour so didn't get a second bottle of wine or dessert sadly. A lot of money for a very disappointing experience.

What a gem. So glad we've found this great meze restaurant in Ellesmere. We had the mixed meze - which was delicious, and more than we could finish - and two excellent cocktails. We will return!

Food was excellent and very generous portions. Only criticism I can come up with would be the waitresses seemed very inexperienced but they were friendly and smiled and I'm sure they will get better. Overall couldn't complain as our party of 5 had a great experience.

Due to mix up with booking, leaving us quite disappointed, we had take away. My two friends and I can only say they excelled themselves. The food was delicious, couldn't ask for better. Can't wait to eat in. Thank you very much.

Had a lovely family birthday celebration at Mezes. 6 adults and 5 children (2 babies and 3 toddlers) made for a lively group and hope we weren't too noisy for other diners. The food was excellent with the 9 dish meze being much appreciated by all the adults. Each dish was fresh and very tasty with no weak elements.The childrens meals were well presented and lovely quality. Drinks very enjoyable and service exemplary. All in all a lovely meal, well worth the cost and very welcoming atmosphere and service. Definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Eight of us enjoyed a meal here together. Our only suggestion would be to do something about the Falafel. They where the driest and least tasty ones I have ever eaten. They rest of the food cannot be faulted. Thank you.

Managed to visit twice while in the area on holiday. Food was lovely, great atmosphere and cocktails were great! Menu has a delicious selection and caters well for different dietary requirements. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wish this restaurant was local to us, will definitely visit again if in the area.

My husband and I are Greek foods lovers, we came over with our baby daughter and friends. The foods were delicious. My favourites are grilled halloumi cheese with trio of tzatizki dip and tahini dip, feta cheese dip with gluten free pitta bread. Definitely recommend to my friends.

Great food is good value and very friendly staff

Lovely restaurant setting. Arrived and was shown to table without being given menus and left for 15 mins when I stopped a staff member walking past to ask for menu to be able to order drinks. Was then asked to confirm our reservation although had already done this when arriving. Ordered meat meze for 2. Salad & pitta bread and dips were amazing so fresh. Next courses were good, had to confirm what some dishes were. Final round with chicken and pork skewers was large portion. Meat was a little dry but still enjoyable and we took what we didn't eat. Customer service was slightly lacking which if resolved would have given 4 stars.

Came across this Restaurant while on a canal holiday. Recommended by a couple of locals we booked a table and got a table in the outside area. We ordered the Mezze for two and I've got to say, it was excellent. Service was spot on and drinks prices about average. Definitely worth a visit 👍

Visited last night for the first time Fully booked inside, so we had a table undercover outside which was really pleasant. The food was delicious and very friendly staff. We will definitely be booking again

Over priced given there is absolutely no greek restaurants with 100miles of ellesmere. We had the lamb and chicken Souvlaki at £15 for the chicken and £19 for the lamb and both meals were filling and nice as they should be given the price and meat cutts. Could have addded feta to the salad as a traditional Greek salad should be. Staff were great very fast and attentive. Balaclava at £5 was sweet and not crunch abit soggy.

Second time having a meal here and again we had great service and tasty food. We even had a lift home from the owner as we couldn't get a taxi, what a lovely lady.

We came to Meze on a Saturday after having to change our plans and quickly book a new venu for a meal out. This meant we had to have a table outside but this was not a problem as the outdoor seating is covered and very much in keeping with the general theme. The service throughout our visit was pleasant and speedy. We had a shared 3 dip starter, and then mains of Moussaka and Chicken Metaxa. All were great tasting and decent portion sizes for the price. We were only staying in Ellesmere for the weekend but thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My one small negative is that the price of non-alcoholic cocktails were a bit shocking at about 80%+ the cost of their standard cocktails.

We went for a Meat Meze for two. Excellent fresh food but be prepared to get full to bursting point. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff.

Service was great! and had an excellent starter, but I had the lamb skewer etc...for the price you would expect the lamb to melt in the mouth, but unfortunately it was hard, fatty and grissly. But hasn't put me off as it is tasty food.

Went for a date with my girlfriend. Lovely location, sat outside with the temperature still being comfortable due to heating and shelter (with blankets offered if wanted). Food arrived very quickly even on a fairly busy night. And the food was comparable to actual greek food, it was delicious. We couldn't choose a favourite, everything from the dips to the drinks was perfect.The waiters were so lovely and accommodating and so was the owner which would come and ask if everything was going ok as well as the waiters. Value for money and then some. Hopefully will be here soon. Couldn't recommend further. (Also recently have little apartments as well that we kindly got shown around which were also lovely)

Food is very well cooked and full of flavour. Service was as good as always which is why we return here on a regular basis, well worth a visit.

Beautiful little restaurant.. food was amazing. It was however cold in the restaurant we were placed by the door however soon forgotten when the food arrived. One downside one of our group has an allergy to cats, the staff did the best they could to keep them away from us.. but kittys will be kittys 😺..

Wow! This was a true gem. The staff accommodated a vegan and meat eaters in a gorgeous meze. We even had a cozy fire and a friendly cat. One to come back to time and again. Thank you everyone at Meze for a wonderful evening.

A lovely Greek restaurant, we had hummus and halloumi souvlaki as we are both vegetarian. We got so much food for what we paid, and there was a cute friendly cat inside which is always a bonus :)

Freezing!! Only portable gas heaters & some customers even had to have blankets! Apparently only temporary - just our luck!!!

Was going for a takeaway, but these wonderful people allowed our dog in! Off to a flying start, the menu is amazing and great value for the amount of food you receive. We went for the Mezze, which is £21 per person for 9 dishes, prepare for tasty food and full stomachs :) The staff are lovely, the chefs lovely the whole place just transports you to Greece and I wanted to get on the table and dance! We would highly recommend booking a table here, thank you for a much needed romantic meal for two xxx

I can honestly say this is the best Greek experience this side of Greece. Staff very helpful and friendly and good delicious. The hummus and the other Greek dips with the warm pitta bread are the best I have had, only downside is that we were not sitting down overlooking the sea but I will forgive that. I also had the chicken lemonato which was equally appetising. Would recommend and will be going back.

Authentic Greek taverna restaurant. The food...aah!. What can I say... Superb, delicious, mmmm! OMG. Do you know when every dish you try just gives you that relaxed satisfied warm just makes you want to try another and another feeling. . . Well then. This my friends is the place. The standard of cooking is excellent. The staff are lovely and knowledgeable. The portions are huge. We had the Meze and dish after dish was delicious. Can't wait to go back again. Wow!!!

Great potential, but 'very hit and miss'. Lukewarm welcome by waiter who seemed disinterested in his role. Wanted to order three lamb dishes but told curtly there was no lamb!! No explanation given. Could he not have visited the local supermarket which is open to late at night and sourced some lamb? However, alternative pork dishes were very good, but served on stone cold plates! No offer of more drinks - sat with empty glasses for 45 mins! Asked how was the meal only when we had just about finished. Interior was rather drab but enjoyed the Greek music.

Popped in for an early evening meal on a Saturday night, and whilst they were booked up inside, we were offered a table in the ‘garden’ which was just delightful! We only had a main course, but it was a generous portion and super delicious. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. Great value for money in my opinion! 5*

Small and rustic family restaurant with small range of authentic choices. First time visiting so don't know if menu changes. Substantial portions so arrive hungry.

What a find. Delicious food in an authentic atmosphere - we really felt we had been in Greece that for afternoon. So good that we have tempted friends/ family to join us next time.

Outstanding food and service for Father’s Day. Deborah is a fantastic energetic owner and this is reflected in the high quality of the food and service. Was my first time today but was recommended by a returning friend and wasn’t disappointed. Went for the meat meze for 2 plus our group had pretty much a wide mix of the menu and every dish was exemplary. The moussaka was cooked perfectly and the dips obviously freshly made. We even had some croquettes made by the chef before end of service as they had run out. The baklava looked impressive and the portions are very generous. I would highly recommend as a couple or in our case large group (more impressive as all the food came out together). Also the venue felt cosy and the plates themselves were clearly quality, so don’t smash them! Waiter and waitresses also fabulous and with a smile, didn’t look phased at any point despite the place turning full quickly. Look forward to returning in the future. Well done

Greek food is my passion. You cannot fool me. I was very impressed by my meal. The food was freshly cooked with good quality ingredients and tasty. I found the Greek spirit: simplicity, authenticity and conviviality. The setting is lovely and the service is freat. This is now officially my favourite place in the world.

Food was excellent. Beef stifado was spot on for taste and melt in your mouthness. Tzatziki was a tad bland. Really glad they offer Vegan options too. Service is a little slow but you do wait for proper food. Best authentic Greek restaurant I've been to outside of Greece. All the imported beers and wines you might expect to find, while a little pricey you pay for the experience. Will definitely be going again.

Been here most months cannot fault the food. But tonight it was acceptable to eat with cats around you. If a environmental officer was dining he would be shell shocked The staff and clearly the owners think its fine to have cats jumping on the furniture around you Sorry you have this wrong It's a shame but I won't step in the restraunt ever again

Went on a Saturday evening with our young granddaughter the restaurant was very busy even at 6 o clock so I would advise booking in advance the menu was as expected from a Greek restaurant but a bit limited for a young fussy 4 year old The food we had was well cooked and very tasty reminded us of holidays to Cyprus we have had in the past There are one or two cats roaming around which is fine iff you're an animal lover but maybe off-putting iff your not We will definately go again the owners are warm and welcoming to new and regular customers alike

Ordered take away for Xmas Eve for seven adults, one a veg and one gluten free. They were able to cater for both and were respectful to our needs. A good choice of food that was good and plentiful. We all enjoyed it. Deborah was a great help and accommodating.

Went last night with friends for our first visit. It was brilliant a homely feel in a period building, friendly, cosy and the food was a mix of very traditional to lovely variations. Meat balls as starters or part of meze and chicken metaxa for mains. Good Greek wines. Loved it all.
