Food was do tasty and the portion size was huge and come with so many extras

Food was cold when delivered very sub standard for this my favourite takeaway. Normally my review is 5 star

Food was nice but not very hot considering it was delivered early. Disappointed the bread didn't come with it and needed to be ordered separately, thats unusual, all other Turkish ive ordered from before sends it complimentary. That said value for price was decent and I'd order again - thanks

Chips were cold. Small amount of chicken, although it was nice.

This is my favourite takeaway, thank you for my lovely dinner. I really enjoy there food and always have it delivered and it always arrived hot and tasty i would definitely recommend.

kebab and sides lovely, need another way to package chips always arrive warm and soggy which spoils the meal

Running a little behind time, but that meant the food was fresh and hot. Had the Mez special, and it was more than enough for 5 of us. really enjoyed our meal.

Exceeded the expectation. Food was fantastic with superb hospitality. Veg. Moussaka, king prawns, Garlic mushrooms were delicious and finishing off food with Turkish tea..Good very clean inside.

Iskender didn’t have any yoghurt in it which was disappointing but overall food was very nice.

Its closed ! Makes me walk 20 minutes

Was one of the best kebabs I’ve had! Chicken Donner, with rice and traditional flat breads! This will definitely be my new go to! Will be ordering again soon

Was all cold late got a notification to say it was on its way then one saying it had been delivered I rang them and it hadn’t even left the place

Lovely Turkish food, we shared the family platter between three and really struggled to eat it between us. Really friendly staff and amazing food. Would certainly reccomend and we will certainly be back. Thankyou to all the staff at Mez !!!

Turned up late. All food was cold. Driver couldn't find me when everyone else can. Waste of money

very disappointed tonight ,my go 2 takeaway and was stone cold 1st one ever i think ! I won't not order again but just very disappointed , sorry!

Ordered 1915. Delivered no later than 2005 they claimed. 2020 I called and was told it’s out for delivery. Called back 15 mins later (I live 5 mins drive away) was told must be an error and it’ll be there no later than 2-3 minutes. 10 minutes later this is now 2100 STONE COLD! Told the delivery driver she said phone the restaurant. Bearing in mind this is high risk food rice chicken etc was told they would do another lot as a priority and send it out and it would be with me within 15 mins. Still waiting. Late again.

Portion sizes are very good and the food is tasty. Can’t complain!

Booked on line for a birthday the food was amazing the staff were great and attentive but enough for us to enjoy our meal and food sizes were great birthday girl even got a free shot ...thanks for a great evening will be back

Delivery time was when was set, but the food wasn’t great. The rice was old rice/over cooked it was sticky and had dried together in clumps. The lamb was over cooked and the meal came warm at best even though I live 5 mins from the restaurant. Never had an issue here before but together let themselves down.

lovely as always , chips were extra hot , little dissapointed wasn't as much chicken doner as usual in fact seemed loads of salad and had to look for meat , was still nice but dissapointed unfortunately this time

I had the chicken and lamb kebab, the chicken was really nice but the lamb was over cooked and some was burnt. The chip was warm and not very hot this is the first time it wasn't very good 😔

Just came with family and friends and absolutely loved the service here! Amazing friendly restaurant with great tasty food. Thank you very much for treating the group so well....the portions were massive and so worth the money. Giving lollies to the kids was just a perfect touch!

Was late took hour and half to put together a wrap and chicken burger wrap was cold soggy old lettuce and then had some warmed up cheese on stone cold in cooked chips nice one won’t be eating from here again 👎🏼 🤢

The whole meal was STONE COLD. And the lady said to me, next time you’ll need to come down and get it yourself!! We don’t normally go up the stairs to deliver!! Complexity rude, unprofessional and lazy.

We usually order takeaway to our house, but today decided to eat in for the first time. The restaurant was really clean and the heating made it very warm and cosy. The food never disappoints from Mez so the experience was of course on point.

What a find.1st class service and food was fantastic and great value. Defo recommend to anyone who likes turkish cuisine tbe mixed family mez is great

So first off delivery was sooooo fast, 15 mins early, took about 25mins from order time so awesome… I was unsure if to try Turkish Lemonade as it said 330ml so i was thinking must be a can and it was £2.50p. So price bit insane but wow t was really nice was a small bottle, wish you got big bottle for that price but was nice to try it. Meal was again awesome loved my meal

I'm amazed how quick the food was delivered and it was piping hot and it tasted amazing.

Attentive service, delicious food, great value for money. Although they had about 3/4 vegetarian meals, there were other options to add to enhance the menu . I usually find baklava to be too syrupy. However, the baklava served here has the right balance, and the restaurant has a homely, comfy feel to it. Would definitely visit again!

Turn up 40mins after I checked just eat and said it was out for delivery flagged this with the driver. It was stone cold and chips were rock hard. Total waste of money as went in the bin. I understand how delivery's work as I use to do it, but I expect my food to be warm atleast

The meal was for my husband and he had tried a few kebabs on Canvey but until now he hadn't liked any of them but said Mez is the best kebab and will defiantly be ordering again. The delivery guy was friendly.

Ordered two t bone steaks and one chicken Shish, the chicken was good, the t bones were of poor quality and one of them only had one steak the other side had been cut off like we wouldn’t notice…inconsistent has been my experience with Mez after several orders.

The was so cold .. such a shame as the quality would have been so good 😞

Cous cous wasn’t delivered, all the food was cold and delivered 15min late. We have used Mez many times before so this has been disappointing, we will order from them again as we believe their normal standard is exceptional and hoping this has just been a bad/busy night for them.

Both me and my son said best kebab had I ages, had the doner and chicken on lamachun , only disappointment was garlic mayo missing on both but apart from that really nice chips nice too will order again hopefully sauces not missising x

After calling after the delivery time I was told it was that the driver was busy and was going to be another 5-6 minutes it was at least another 10-15 minutes and was freezing cold

As usual it was delicious.. just missing the turkish bread which was a bit disappointing

5 of my family and myself had a birthday meal for my wife A very polite and helpful waitress came and took our drink orders and returned quickly with refreshments. We all ordered our meals and extras. Meals included chicken, lamb , and shell fish . The meals were delicious, all cooked just right ! I think we all left some food not because of bad food but the amount of food we had ! We will definitely use Mez again and would recommend. Give it a try , doubt you'll be disappointed, I know we weren't. Thanks .

Was going to go in and be a customer but only saw one of the staff be abused by what I assume is their boss is not right behaviour you should never be allowed to hit your staff have contacted police and they are aware of the situation

One waiter, 2 men behind the counters telling the waiter what to do... Noisy as no drapes... Poor cutlery, food was good, but had to wait a good time.. needs work, and an experienced waiter to run the orders properly

My wife and I have been going to the Mez since it first opened I think the owner's name was Alex, and the food and service were excellent, but the last two times I have been with friends, it's been absolutely RUBBISH. The new owner, Abdul hasn't any idea how to run a restaurant, waited for ages to order a drink, and they didn't have a small beer, so had to share with a friend because I was driving. I ordered Moussaka, and my friends ordered chicken & lamb skewers, the chicken was OK, but the lamb was very tough. The Moussaka was supposed to be meat, but mostly carrot and aubergines the cheese on the top was uneatable. Without a doubt, it was the worst meal we had ever had in The Mez Canvey Island. We WILL NEVER BE GOING THERE AGAIN. I would advise, since the new owner took over it is not worth a visit. Jim Cartwright

Food is very good and under rated. Portion sizes and very good and price is very on point. had many takeaways and visited a good few times. EFES on draft too which is great

I have ordered in the past and it was fine but i ordered again yesterday and it was awful. It looked like someones left overs and it tasted disgusting so i threw it in the bin and now it has left me with a stomach ache after just a few mouth fulls. Never again 🤢

Mother's Day 2023. 10 of us popped into here simply by spontaneous choice. We hadn't booked anywhere and were pleasantly surprised by the welcome on such a busy day. Our waiter was Abdul, and he was wonderful. Plenty of cocktails to choose from, and the food was exquisite. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants delicious tasty unique food. £200 for 10 people, you can't complain, it was all delicious.

The staff at this restaurant were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. They even offered us Turkish tea while we waited! The food was amazing; we ordered a MEZ platter for three, but there was enough to feed even more people. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty - we highly recommend it!

Im done. It used to be good, it used to be worth the extra money but not now. Ordered on a Tuesday night and waited an hour and a half. Called to query and got a 'it's coming!' response. Food OK but no better than cheaper, more prompt options.

We stayed for one night on Canvey Island and weren't sure where to eat. We came across Mez while looking in other restaurant and thought this looked nice. The food was delicious and the portions were very large you are also given the most delicious complimentary bread and dips. We had a moussaka and lamb and chicken kebabs and everything was well cooked and very tasty. Nice ambience and friendly staff.

Stayed one night on Canvey Island and we weren’t sure where to eat on seeing Mez we decided to give it a try. The food was all very tasty, portion size very generous and staff friendly. They also gave us complimentary bread and two dips which was a great touch and very tasty. Smallish restaurant but it had a nice ambience and definitely worth trying if you are in the area.
