We recently celebrated our daughter's birthday with a delightful lunch at an outstanding Indian restaurant in Northampton. The warm, inviting walls adorned with vibrant cultural photographs and traditional Indian patterned fabrics create an authentic and cozy atmosphere. The staff, dressed in traditional jathas, add to the charm of the place. Indian music softly playing in the background enhances the rustic ambiance, making it a truly immersive experience. We went out for a meal in Northampton tonight and we came across this restaurant on Google. All I can say it was amazing, nothing was too much to ask for, service was great, food was lovely and hot when served as well as tasting fresh. Bonus - it was 241 on mains! Service was brilliant, very accommodating. The ambience was beautiful and calming. A lovely Indian restaurant overall. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again! The rising hot towels at the end was a lovely treat! Oh and the mango sorbet between courses was an added extra which made our evening that little extra special Many thanks, & we will be sure to visit again!!

Fancy appearance, very quiet so lacking atmosphere. Staff pleasant enough. Some odd rules about having to order mains, even though one of our party (oap) would have prefered two starters and no main (small appetite). Mixed grill was tiny. Portions generally not that big, especially considering the cost. Not that authentic, expensive, just ok food. Makhani tasted like heinz tomatoe soup. Handi was OK. Was expecting much more given the reviews.

We booked a table for 8 for Father's Day. On arrival, there was a terrible band playing music that was far too loud. Singer sounded like a screeching cat. Why don't restaurants understand that background music shouldn't dominate the room and should be just background music.! As the music was unbearable, We left after 5 minutes without eating anything. Won’t be visiting again.!

Have had an excellent afternoon here. The staff are so lovely and accommodating and made us feel so welcome. The food was fantastic with a great variety. The musician was really great and had us singing along to all the songs. What a great spot, will definitely be coming back!

Perfect if you want more than your normal Indian restaurant experience. A fantastic service. Lovely attention to detail. The staff are so friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The food is just amazing with a lot of dishes you will see in a regular Indian. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic food and service wow!

We went for dinner one evening with friends and absolutely loved the place. Authentic, sincere, friendly and the food was gorgeous. We had the set meal which we simply can’t fault!!

We had a family birthday and went for the Sunday buffet - the food was delicious and lots of variety. The staff were so attentive and made us all feel so welcome, bringing dishes to the table and helping the kids pick their food. We will definitely be coming back.

Came for the charity curry and quiz night and really enjoyed the food, drinks and service, plus it was a fun atmosphere with the quiz. Loved the presentation of the food it was very beautiful and went beyond your average Indian restaurant food presentation. Don't know what it's like there if it's not a quiz night but I'd recommend giving it a try!

A cut above the usual Indian, delicious imaginatively flavoured food served with a flourish by charming and attentive staff in a spacious comfortable space.

Presentation amazing with lovely decorative touches on every course. Slightly on the expensive side,BUT quality and overall dining experience is so worth it.Cant wait to go back! Horrible management and very rude staff. We went in and then had a change in plans. They acted like we vandalised their restaurant. Hire a better manager if you want the restaurant to do well. No sense of business or customer service.

The hospitality first of all was outstanding. We were made to feel very welcome and the team made our visit here a memorable one. Next the food. The food was absolutely delicious! I haven’t seen staff this rude in my entire life. They have a policy where if you order starters, you need to order mains as well. And they were super rude about even informing us about this rule. Pathetic place tbh.

Mewar Haveli in Northampton offers an excellent ambience, complemented by exceptional service provided by Suresh and Krishna. Suresh's guidance on courses and spice levels enhanced the dining experience. Despite the challenge of resisting, the delectable offerings, including soft drinks, starters, main course, and appetizers, left a lasting impression. Starting from the pappadom and pickles, in Kerala we don't eat pappadom with pickles and I was wondering why they serve it like that. I had multiple bites anyway😅. Coming to starters The chicken and puri were highlights, surpassing expectations. However, the tandoori mushroom garlic disappointed with its overpowering raw garlic taste. The malai chicken was satisfactory, while the nan varieties, especially garlic nan and tomato garlic nan, stood out as delicious. The Haveli chicken provided the desired spiciness, but the lamb curry fell short of expectations, and the chicken BBQ tasted somewhat bland. A palate-cleansing touch with mango pulp during the meal was appreciated. Despite the quality, the restaurant leans towards the expensive side, and the portion sizes are relatively small. With limited parking at the rear, the establishment opens in the evening, offering a unique and flavorful dining experience, making it my second visit. Additionally, I couldn't resist capturing the visually appealing presentation of the dishes, although I regret not being able to take better pictures. The aesthetic appeal of the food added another layer to the overall dining experience at Mewar Haveli in Northampton. Despite some minor shortcomings, the culinary delights and charming ambiance make it a restaurant worth revisiting.

I have been here multiple times and every time the service is top notch. Staff members ensure to make you feel comfortable. We decided to go for a set menu. The starters were juicy, succulent and were cooked to perfection. The main course was a bit of a let down maybe mainly because the starters had set such high expectations. For the main course I loved the achari chicken. Methi lamb and butter chicken I guess they had just added the cooked meat in the gravy and served. But I guess that's how all the restaurants work. Pistachio Kulfi had too many sugar chunks and was frozen to be icy. All in all it wasn't a great experience but a good experience.

To be honest, have no idea from where should I start. The staff is just 5 stars. Very friendly and warm people. Made me feel almost at home for a few moments. The environment of the restaurant is comfortable, with warm and relatively low light. Perfect to have a calm and chilled dinner. And finally the cherry on top. The food is outstanding. Order butter chicken with garlic naan and rice. Absolutely perfect. Will definitely come back and refer it to some friends. Thank you for having me!!

Had a great time last night! The staff was super nice and paid a lot of attention. The passion fruit martini was amazing. The food was so tasty, can't wait to go back!

Good and service was excellent. Had a party of 8 and food came in good time with drinks being regularly replenished if we needed. We had a difficult member of our party and the waiting staff were still excellent as per usual. Would highly recommend.

Every time I eat at Mewar Haveli, I find myself saying this is the best chicken madras I have ever had. The quality of the food is undeniably exceptional. The staff are among some of the most friendly people I've ever met, who always greet me and my friends by our names. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and am proud to be a loyal customer 💕

The food and customer service are excellent. My mom really enjoys their food, and I've ordered from here multiple times for her. She's currently in the hospital, and they've been amazing with the orders. This Indian restaurant in Northampton is the best, serving truly authentic Indian cuisine.

Fabulous caring staff and super food.

First off, the service is off the scale amazing, the staff look incredible and the place is decorated tastefully. If the food was as good as the experience, this place would be one of the best places you could eat. Unfortunately, the food is tailored to a very specific 50+ year old palette, it was cooked perfectly, but it lacked in basic spice and depth of flavour. The cocktails were spot on and well priced. All in, very nice place, excellent service but the food doesn’t match the authenticity.

The food and service were amazing. We were very disappointed with the bill, as a 12% service change had been added. It was not noted as optional, so we refused to pay it. It was a real shame because this discussion with the waiter ruined the night. We would have probably left a tip of circa £30 but due to this underhand practise, we left nothing :-(. So probably we won't go back..

This place is exceptional, honestly, you have to go here. The décor is beautiful, the staff are amazing and the food phenomenal. To be asked, "how can we improve our food?" Is something you never get asked. You could not, you could tell everything was fresh and i am no food critic, but you could taste every part of the dish. This is a place you have to go to. I am going back, hopefully see you there!

I have been for both the Sunday set menu and the a la carte menu here and cannot fault it . Fantastic attentive service from start to finish and superb food quality . I can highly recommend, you will not be disappointed !

Have dined here on a few occasions and it never disappoints. The food is stunning and matched by very good service from the front of house. Best restaurant in Northampton by a long way.

The atmosphere is amazing and they are attentive, however they told us about a deal then struggled to honour it. Starter was unreal so delicious, will go again to find a better main choice.

The staff were very conscientious about our various dietary requirements, and even made my husband special dishes off menu to accommodate his allergies and intolerances. We were very grateful for this, as he hasn't been able to enjoy a curry in years. We felt in very good hands. They were kind and helpful to our children, making them special fun animal shaped food and interacting with them, which made our family feel very welcome. We're local and had family visiting from afar, so it was very nice to take them to such a good restaurant. Oh, and the food was great too!

This is a fantastic Indian restaurant! Dining here is an outstanding experience in all aspects. The staff are brilliant, attentive and full of character and then there is of course, the main reason for visiting – the food! Apart from the wonderful selection on the menu, the attention to detail, the timing of service, the food is simply delicious. Thoroughly recommend!

Eaten at the restaurant on 2 different occasions. First time was from the normal menu and second time we went on the themed evening with a buffet style dinner. Both times the food was excellent which was only eclipsed by the friendliness of the staff. Food is tasty and authentic in presentation with lots of choice. My favourite Indian restaurant in the area for sure.

Lovely a la carte/fine dining Indian restaurant. Food & service was outstanding. By recommendation from a friend, she joined us at Haveli and it was every bit, the special experience from beautifully presented food that was delicious to the the attentive staff, who looked after you and took care to make sure everyone's dining experience was perfect.

This is the best Indian in town!! Yes you will pay a bit more for the food but it's definitely worth it. The sea bass is one of my favorite dishes, I had never had such a flavorful fish. The service is brilliant because the staff are all so attentive and accommodating. We have been in 3 times and had takeaway once and it's been amazing every time.

Wonderful food and friendly staff. Prawn biryani was one of my favourite, it was totally yum. Drinks were also awesome. If anyone love to eat indian/nepali cuisine I would definitley recommend this place.😊

Our second visit and just as good as the first. Both service and food were excellent. The restaurant is spotless and the decor lovely. Staff are extremely attentive and the meal was presented beautifully... and tasted absolutely delicious, A special call-out for the Peshwari Naan which is stuffed with coconut.. yummy! The meal was discounted because we finished before 7.30pm on a weekday. Nice surprise. Rated as one of the best in Northampton. It is actually THE BEST.

We decided to book here after receiving a flyer through the door. We were warmly greeted and staff were very attentive throughout. It was early evening though so I can’t speak for a busy night. The food, although a little pricey, was amazing. Delicious and beautifully presented. Recommended. We will be back.

Everything about this place is a cut above the rest, food is just superb and the service is second to none.

Food here is really good! Although portions are bit smaller but considering it's a fine dine that's alright I guess. Only issue we had was with the weird policy of ordering mains alongwith starters. I never understand ratiinale behind it. What if I want to have only starters because I liked it - had a bit of an argument over with one of the staff Although won't go back if that weird policy is still in place as I don't like to be told what I can order.

This was our first visit here and we were not disappointed. We always book a table, especially on a Saturday night just to be sure. We wanted to sit at one in the window and they were very welcoming and accommodating whilst they prepared the table. They have very friendly staff.We ordered 2 set menu, 2 drinks and 2 dessert, The staters were impressive , we received outstanding main course to share and the service wasn't rushed and just right. The bill came to just over £60 and was very reasonable. We will be visiting again.

Went for a dinner with my friend . I had the best service and food in Northampton. The staff were very professional and friendly and the food was very testy and presentation nice. Overall the ambiance was very vibrant and I had a wonderful time. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to be treated well and have a fulfilling cuisine.

Business logic - if someone wants to spend 200 pounds on starters, they still want them to buy 10 pound Mains or throw them out. This restaurant has this terrible policy that when you are eating starters and drinking liquor, you have to orders mains as well. When you go and sit, they don't take your starters orders. You have to make your first order for mains and if you don't do that then they all start behaving bad. Audacity was to come and then give us a lecture that you have to order mains if you want to come to their restaurant. Why don't these guys have a menu that only contains Mains so that we don't even have these options on Menu. I have not seen any restaurant where you are forced to order certain items on Menu as restaurant policy, which is not mentioned anywhere. Food quality is not that great and this is not even an Indian restaurant although they use an Indian name. Even after spending so much , there are high chances that you would be lectured in the end. Avoid at all costs these arrogant bunch of People. Place where customer is treated this bad when 70 percent of restaurant is empty in these tough times is beyond me.

Horrible service and awful food. Just because they have Indian name does not make it Indian Restaurant. This restaurant is run on some terrible policies which are not mentioned anywhere on Menu or otherwise. One of these policy is, you have to order Mains as your first order and if you don't do that they would start disrespectful behaviour. They won't listen to you, take your plates, take away your menu and then start passing comments. First time I came across this kind of restaurant where you must order certain things if you want to sit and eat. Why don't they just keep mains in Menu ? The way they behaved and then lectured us about their restaurant in the end, Height of customer experience.

The services provided by this restaurant is outstanding. Last week I went there with my friends which was my first visit I was really impressed by the food and the hospitality services which were given by the staff. Highly recommended thankyou.

Well what can I say..... Absolutely incredible! We were met by attentive staff, who were all so very helpful, polite and pleasant. There was nothing too much trouble. The food was second to none! We ordered the banquet for all 8 of us, and they accommodated for our vegetarian in the party by offering different options to the menu. We had a fantastic evening and rest assured we will definitely be returning for more of the same. Simply brilliant!

Party of 10 of us who all commented on how good the food was - the dishes all seemed fresh and flavoursome What made it better was the staff who were all friendly and efficient They seem to be trying their best to stand out from the crowd of more traditional Indian restaurants

Tried their set menu as a group of 4. Super tasty starters and great selection of mains ranging from low to medium spiced with plenty of naan breads and rice. Good portion size. Food tastes very authentic and individual. No one stock pot here... Would recommend and return.

Impeccable Service and good food

Situated adjacent to Corkers on the Wellingborough Road, this Indian restaurant is set out across one large pleasantly decorated room. Excellent service was apparent the moment we walked in with wait staff demonstrating the sort of attentiveness I haven't seen in a while. Shout out to Suresh, who was dressed in traditional Royal Rajasthan clothing. He was friendly, courteous and really looked after us. We decided on the set menu, where you get a sample of the most popular dishes, including starters and dessert, this was really enjoyable and tasty, with the meat being very tender and the plates beautifully presented. Price wise, it's certainly more expensive than most other Indian restaurants in the area; set menu for two plus a bottle of decent wine, and a JD and coke to open proceedings was just over £100. Will definitely return with friends.

We ordered a takeaway for 3 people at 7.05pm and were told between an hour and 1 hour 20 min delivery time. This was acceptable. However, after 90 mins, still no sign of the meal, I rang and the lady said she couldn't find my order, but rather than keep me on the phone, she'd call back. After 10 mins (and no call back), I called again, to be told the food was on its way. She was quite short with me, as though I didn't really matter as a customer. Food arrived 10 mins or so later and was hot and what we'd ordered. However, it was 1 hour 55 mins after we'd ordered. I know its a busy evening, but no apology for being so late. I won't be ordering a take away again. The food is good but on the expensive side. Best to go and get it yourself!! Or go elsewhere.

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this restaurant, the service was absolutely horrible. After first entry it was ok, drinks were brought reasonably quickly, but after that it was just a waiting game, I would say the service was pathetic to say the least. They were under staffed and the same 3 waiters were just running around like headless chicken's. I will never go back to this place again, NEVER !!!!!

Starters were cold also the time taken to bring mains was way longer than expected also service was not good needed to order extra naans ignored by staff all together dishes and service was not authentic more like pub grub sold as fine dining
