Mettricks Portswood in Southampton

Pasé aquí para reunirme con un grupo de amigos. Estaba bastante ocupado, así que debería haber reservado una mesa, pero consiguió uno después de 20 minutos o así. El servicio era increíble, la comida era un poco cara pero deliciosa y ofrecía opciones sin gluten. Ambiente no demasiado ruidoso y relajado.

Increíble servicio servicial, y el personal muy amable y servicial. Se habían quedado sin pastel y el tipo del bar fue a ver si la hoja había hecho algún pastel de queso brownie. Lo tenía, y fue increíble. También tuvimos una charla muy bien informada sobre decaf y nos dio un gran sitio web para ir y echar un vistazo a (Craft Decaf). Música blues sonando, cálido entrepiso arriba, cómodos sillones. Impresionante visita.

Hemos estado visitando Mettricks por un tiempo, ya que vivimos localmente. Es el café más sabroso de la ciudad y se tuesta en el lugar en la sucursal de Portswood. El menú del brunch es excelente y el personal siempre es acogedor. Si fuera a visitar más tarde en el día, recomendaría encarecidamente la cerveza que también se elabora en el lugar - es de gran calidad.

Sé que este es un buen café ya que un amigo me compró un poco como regalo. Así que pedí más. Parecía haber un problema con la entrega, el rastreador dice entregado pero no recibido. Esto sucede y por lo general no sería un problema, PERO tratar de obtener de ellos para consultar es una pesadilla - de hecho, uno pensaría que activamente no quieren hablar con los clientes. He probado FB messenger, Instagram y X en absoluto en vano. Agradezco que las entregas desaparezcan pero esto es ridículo. Quizás ellos realmente lleguen a responder esto = Lástima porque disfruté el café

Almorcé aquí, el café estaba bien, pero el sándwich era terrible. No coincidía con la descripción. No estaba tostado, apenas tenía queso, el pollo estaba tibio y tiene mayonesa. El personal es amable y tiene un ambiente agradable.

Wow, just been to Metrix in Portswood today and absolutely loved it. Great coffee, roasted on site and the staff are friendly. Mia the manager who served us was really helpful and knowledgeable. Food was great and the cakes are amazing. Looking forward to trying the beer next time. See you soon again

Such a lovely place, the staff were so friendly. Drinks were amazing, the cocktails were well made. Would recommend to anyone.

(disclosure; the new chef is a drinking buddy, but I am reviewing this based on a visit on a day he's not working, I have no relationship with the business) I've liked the food in this place since it opened, but the standards noticably dipped a while ago and I stopped going-- for example every meal had at least one thing missing . But I'm happy to report that it's now back to it's previous high standard. The coffee here is very expensive but I buy it as a treat as it's also the best coffee in the area. I usually have the oat latte. I had the large breakfast, but the vegan breakfast is good too and I sometimes have that. It's definitely at the brunchy end, rather than the greasy spoon end of a fry-up. Good quality sausage and eggs done right. Ideal for a medium hangover. If I'm more hungover they also do bloody Mary's but I'm here "working from home" on their wifi today so cocktails would be a tad unreasonable.

For a coffee or brunch I’m sure this would have been better For lunch service was very slow. The restaurant was very cold. The avocado on toast was lovely but the open chicken wrap was a massive let down. Looks totally unappetising particularly the two slices of “plastic” cheese melted on the top. Taste no better. Hash browns overcooked. Photos below. Would go back but not for food. Coffee and snacks only.

Second visit. Not disappointed. Great food. I had a burger and it was top quality. Really good atmosphere. A big thumbs up from me!

Very impressed. Great décor and ambience. Drinks and menu food good value. I had the Pancakes with Maple Syrup wife enjoyed he fish finger sandwich with fries and proper cutlery. Hot Chocolate and a Latte for drinks Great experience.

Excellent coffee - which is the most important thing, so it's great to be able to also say that the food is terrific and the staff are delight. Cool vibes without being intimidating.

We go to Mettricks in Portswood at least once a week for coffee because the coffee is the best out of any of the coffee shops in the area. The staff are so friendly not only to us but to our daughter as well and always make an effort to engage with her. Lovely atmosphere and the building has been kitted out beautifully too. Really comfortable and cosy. The only bad point is there’s so many tables crammed in it can be hard to navigate around. Me and my partner went for brunch and the food was great although it was quite expensive, but then it’s cooked to order and more unusual than your bog standard coffee shop food. It came in good time and the service with that was great too. So glad Mettricks opened in Portswood, we wouldn’t go anywhere else now.

Visited with a group of friends last month and had an excellent time. The cocktails were creative and tasty, the food menu had fantastic selection for both vegetarians and carnivores and Chris and Andy were both attentive, helpful and hilarious. Would highly recommend

Came here for birthday drinks with my friends, we were in the vault and served by Chris. Brilliant service, delicious drinks and very attentive, when his shift finished we were served by Kyle, another brilliant server and more delicious drinks. We also had the baked Camembert with marmite (I think it’s a must have for everyone) 10/10 would recommend visiting here! Great job Chris and team!

Ironic - Ex Bank now low service bar says NO to CASH. The atmosphere was lively and had a very convivial crowd in there, but having cash at a bar for lager turned away triggered a real resentment in me - the Manager bless him took a good verbal coshing, yet remained spineless on my complaint. Saying NO to CASH must be outlawed. It is legal tender.

We have visited Mettricks other sites in Southampton and always had a good experience. They recently opened in Portswood so we thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately, they were busy (Sunday morning) and they did warn that there was a 45 min wait for food. We were fine with this, but the staff were unfriendly and unsmiling. I was told that I couldn't have my bacon sandwich with toasted bread (even though they sell toast!). Our drinks arrived fairly promptly, but we ended up waiting 75 minutes for our food (eggs on toast and a bacon sandwich) - another table who arrived after us received their food before us. We had to ask where our food was. Our table wasn't clean when we arrived (very sticky with either honey or maple syrup on it), I ended up cleaning it myself! The bacon in my sandwich was very salty and my husbands fried eggs weren't runny, so all rather disappointing. I wanted a drink of water, but although there were plenty of glasses, there were no water jugs - I found one on a table that had just left. I don't feel we will be rushing back any time soon.

A spur of the moment decision while out shopping with a friend. We both ordered the scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. This was a cautious decision having had eggs masquerading as rubber, brown and burnt or totally undercooked, so with trepidation we ordered. My congratulations to the chef, by far the best scrambled eggs I have ever had. They were soft, creamy and perfectly cooked. Combined with great coffee and excellent service the perfect place for breakfast.

Good things: Good coffee beans, selection of music (suits all ages). Menu looks tasty. Will be cosy in winter/wet weather/night. Staff friendly if inefficient. Bad things: coffee took an age to arrive despite four people having a dance behind bar. Latte was Luke warm though Americano was fine. What’s with menu? Looks tasty but so pricy. A fried egg for £7? And not everyone likes avocado and yet there it is - making up a significant part of several dishes. Stools too low for tables for two. Coffee was at chin level practically. I suppose that means those table wont be occupied all day with people on lap tops - because there’s no way you could type for long.

Great coffee, tasty brunch and even stayed for a cocktail! A great bed addition to Portswood, courier recommend it more!

Recently visited the new Mettricks site on Portswood road and it did not disappoint! The best of Mettricks taken to the next level with the coffee as good as ever and a great selection of alcohol making it the perfect day-night place to head for a drink and some tasty food - would absolutely recommend, so happy Mettricks has expanded over here!
