Metro Piazza in Barnet

Came on Mother’s Day with a table of 10 and the restaurant was packed solid. There were olives on the table when we arrived, which none of us had requested, but we ate while waiting for our food which took quite a long time. We shared Garlic bread for starters that came out stone cold but was tasty. Main meals all came out at different times, but they were all hot and everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes. Dessert took ages and 8 out of 10 got their desserts together and the last two didn’t come out till long after everyone one else had finished theirs which was a shame. Asked for the bill and was very annoyed to see we were charged around £7.50 for the olives that we had never ordered. You can’t put olives on the table without people asking for them and then charge them for them. After complaining about it, they did take the charge off the bill. I have to say that really let the place down for me unfortunately. Really cheeky! Food was tasty and would come back again, but not on such a busy day and definitely won’t be eating the olives!

Awful service and food is mediocre. Staff just lied to us. Kept telling us that our food was coming. But we had to wait nearly an hour after our luke warm starters for our mains. Wouldnt waste your time visiting. Go to another, better Italian.

We were welcomed on arrival and quickly shown to our table. Drinks order was quickly taken by the Maitre'd' A large varied menu was available. 4 out of our 6 chose different main courses, all were delicious. Portions were very large and we found it difficult to consume everything. All in all a very pleasant dining experience. Following on from my previous review I received two weeks after my visit a very expensive parking fine which suggested that I hadn’t registered my disabled details at reception or displayed my badge All a load of rubbish as we were told at reception that being a rugby day all parking was free which we then checked with one of the waiters who agreed. Anyway i obviously challenged the fine and after various correspondence and emails parking solutions have relented but think carefully about your visit to which after all is a rubbish restaurant and whether you need the hassle. Another trick of theirs is to not light up the car park so you don’t see the parking warnings!

very costly meal very average food we also got hit with the olive charge asked for extra bread with soup - i got charged for a starter of ciabatta worst of all was the service - took ages to get starter and longer for main and was told chef was serving a large party cutting their turkey very dismissive staff and no interest in appeasing all in all not at all happy with the evening out

I challenge anyone to find a better spaghetti bolognaise anywhere in the UK .. you won’t! These guys seriously make the most mouth watering, tasty spaghetti bolognaise ever! And there are no half measures either. The portion size is magnificent and if you fancy spicing it up a bit I’d highly recommend a little dash of their home made chilli oil. I guarantee you will thank me for recommending this fabulous venue , in particular this specific dish. Everyone who works there is so lovely , polite and they genuinely care about their customers.

Saturday lunchtime.Previously booked and promised a quiet rear room but not available upon arrival and guided to a table in the main area. As with other reviewers, faced with a child’s party in the adjacent area adding to the general frenzy. The food when it arrived was bog standard Italian, pizza,pasta and the desserts seemingly bought in, we had not chosen starters. Prices for 330ml beers over £5 and generally on the high side for food of this quality. Don’t bother to look for the menu on their website as it doesn’t show one. Probably embarrassed at the cost of their food! Which a came to over £35 per person

This is the second time my friends and I have visited this restaurant in the last month and each time I’m afraid I have the same observations. Food is very good and obviously is the reason we went back. The first time we visited took them a hour to serve us!! They had a massive party which is fair enough, but they should have warned us - couldn’t hear ourselves think !The second time, before booking we asked if they had a party and they assured us there wasn’t. We booked 5 days before and they told us no , but anything could happen . It was a Bat Mitsvah which would have needed weeks to organise !!!!on our visit we asked for knives 5 times before we were acknowledge for our starters! Our second course- salads - asked for dressing three times and still nothing until one of us had to physically get up and ask for it. Should have been served automatically ! £9.30 for a glass of wine ! West end prices sweethearts not Mill Hill East! Criminal and will not be visiting until they get their act together! .

I do not understand why people still visit this restaurant, I have been here 3 times and never had a good meal yet . The thing is, I do not remember how bad it is until I arrive there and then I remember how Mediocre it was on my last visit , but this time the service was so bad I had to go to the front to pay as I had waited so long and we just wanted to go home . I complained to the waiter who just shugged his shoulders and still charged 12.5% service .The food is not good and most of it is pre cooked and to top it all , it is not cheap , I will be not visiting there again and make sure none of my family does .There are plenty of traditional and good Italian restaurant locally

Consistency…this is a corner stone of a great restaurant. Metro Italia is consistently great in all areas, food, service and ambiance. The team are fantastic and led by a knowledgeable host who leads his team with skill and care.

Love this place. Excellent quality and tasty food with super friendly and lively staff. It's such a random location but well worth the visit. We were here for a party and the when the starters came, all the tables were filled with so much food we couldn't believe we still had main courses to go! It's very well priced too specially if you want to d an event here. We noticed they also have BBQs when the weather gets better as well terraces so will be going back for more! Obrigada!

Amazing food cooked fresh, staff and owner are so lovely Best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. I am definitely making it a regular place to eat. Price was reasonable and absolutely worth every penny . Can have fun playing Adventure golf or driving range before settling down for something to eat. I love this little hide away. I go in there every Sunday when my son plays football for a latte but decided to have a nice family meal in there. I highly recommend this place you won’t be disappointed 😋

Great food, friendly staff, but, as mentioned on other reviews, it’s disgraceful them are charging for a bowl of olives that sits proudly on the table as you sit down WITHOUT anyone saying they are chargeable. Do you want them or I will take them away. Totally wrong. I wonder if they charge for them if you don’t have any , how many check a bill religiously .

Have not visited for a number of years and it used to be an affordable quickish lunch/evening meal but that has changed Saturday night visit very buzzy and full, so service pleasant but slow Good sized portions of nicely cooked food but for the cost it would be better to enjoy a more fashionable restaurant. Television on for sport a distraction sports bar or restaurant ? but might satisfy the visitors to the attached golf range 15% service for a longish wait a bit fierce

On arrival met by surly manager who insisted we sit in one corner of the half empty restaurant, followed by his abruptly taking our order. Perhaps he didn't feel the need to be polite since they automatically add 15% service to the already overpriced menu for standard Italian fare. Will avoid in future.

First time we ate here it was fantastic and had a great time with good food and staff, the second two times were terrible. We walked into the restaurant and greeted the waitress with a smile which was responded with an evil cut eye nd just ignored us...so we walked right out. We decided to come back a month later to check if it was a one off. The waiter lazily sat us down at a dirty table and said he'll come and clean it in a sec...after trying to grab his attention twice and ten mins later we decided to get up and leave...to which no meber of staff asked us if we were okay on the way out...laughable.

Came on a big family lunch on a Sunday as we had all been doing for many years - we spent a large amount and paid a load for golf and mini golf also. Unknown to us they had changed the parking system without warning and every single driver in the family ended up with a ticket. We phoned to complain to the restaurant that we had no idea that you needed to now pay for parking and obviously then signs were badly marked otherwise we would have all paid. A big part of the attraction of the restaurant used to be that you could park easily. We were given an email to send the tickets to but as yet the owner hasn’t even bothered responding and our family lunch is costing hundreds of pounds in parking tickets. It’s a disgusting and greedy way to treat long term customers and seems to be done deliberately to trick guests out of a load of money. We won’t be returning.

Just left having had a lovely meal with my family - a very pleasant evening. When we were sat at our table there was a bowl of olives on the table, to which we helped ourselves to. When I went to pay the bill I was charged £3.90 for the olives. If the restaurant chooses to put olives or similar on the table there should be notification /signage advising of the charge, otherwise they should have been complimentary. I was so gobsmacked, I didn’t say anything!!!!!!! Would have been a five circle rating if not for the above

Had a very nice meal, the service was great the food was also excellent, plentiful and hot, but overpriced. Probably the most expensive pizza/pasta meal we have had better and cheaper elsewhere. Also do not like the fact the service charge is automatically added to the bill, tipping should be at the customers discretion.

First night of lifting of lockdown, Julio, Ruis, Elder and their team welcomed their customers back with their usual passion. Restaurant abiding by social distancing rules, providing a sanitising station at entrance. Food and service excellent, feel like we’ve never been away. Well done all.

Went here for a family meal and was very disappointed by the quality of food. The pizzas in particular were woeful and the pasta was average at best. Dessert was also below par.

Pretty standard Italian fare, prices are reasonable and the food is not bad. Is hard to score anymore than 3 stars as nothing exceptional and was a slightly chaotic experience on a Saturday lunchtime. The staff seemed very stressed out, not that I blame them as was a lot of large families but they looked like they needed at least another 2 waiters. As a customer I could sympathise with them but you don’t really want to feel it either.

tried the restaurant as was recommended by friends as its Italian cuisine. Was hard to find as is tucked away behind the leisure centre and we are not locals to that area so had no idea where we were going and had to phone friends we were meeting to ensure we were in the right place. The restaurant is pretty with a lovely bar area on the entrance. Toilets outside the restaurant yet easy access and indoor and very clean. The staff was really friendly ad good service. Our table was for 7 adults. Olives on the table were really delicious. The food was average with some dishes being very good, those that ordered pizzas were not impressed and said they were average,(all our friends at the meal were Italian and know a good pizza). I had the large king prawns and they were absolutely delicious. The fresh fries I ordered as an extra were really tasty and cooked to perfection. I did have to wait a while after everyone else was served to get mine. I think they forgot my order. No apology was given for the delay. Hubby had the Veal Milanese with penne arrabiatta and wasn't highly impressed though, said it was average. A couple of desserts were ordered and they seemed to go down well. I had a really well made cappuccino. A nice meal and we will definitely go back yet not have pizza.

Pleasant if unspectacular Italian restaurant. Friendly staff. Very well located for Allianz Park as it’s just outside the entrance. That does mean it’s packed on Match days. Would advise booking though we did walk up.

La ubicación, aunque inusual, es fácil de encontrar y hay mucho estacionamiento gratuito disponible. La calidad en todos los frentes es liderada por el gerente del restaurante que mantiene los altos estándares consistentes y una cálida bienvenida abierta y amable en todo momento. ¡Lo peor que puede pasar si visita por primera vez es una gran comida y una cálida bienvenida!

The food first was great 5 stars was unbelievable and the staff I mean, the 2 young lads work together perfectly as a team quick hands quick thinking tbh I think it’s excellent that this restaurant has a team working so well today all I see is this two young boys running around and having fun it’s wonderful. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had congrats especially to the young boy he’s so young he’s got a bright future in the restaurant I can tell........ thank you to all the staff for today especially the chefs. I have no words !!

We tried spaguetti Marinara and was lovely.The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.I recommend you to go there and try the pasta and you will like the place;)

Fantastic experience. I don’t even have words to explain my experience that I’ve had in this restaurant. The staff are the best I’ve ever seen always on there feet none stop yeh they have a bit of fun but That’s part of making customers happy too. There’s was only two guys just working There especially it was very busy so there should of been more stuff but my experience was fantastic. When it’s busy it’s better experience on my side anyway. Congrats to everyone working there I would really recommend everyone to go to metro Italia. The waiters probably the best I’ve seen and congrats to the new young waiter Steve he’s gonna change that place and it’s been a lot better.... always in a good mood never seen it before. 5 stars 100% the restaurant is the best and the 2 guys that work well as a team will always make ur stay welcome and enjoyable would really recommend it. The owner and manager should be proud congratulations never done a review before but this 100% was needed in my opinion.

Found this great cafe/ restaurant while out for a walk,been there a few times,

We came here during the hottest week of this year and the staff were absolutely amazing , they fall over themselves to please their customers- even at 36 degrees! Our glasses were kept full throughout our time here. The food was it’s usual great quality. Can’t thank Ruis and Elder and the team, including the chiefs and kitchen staff for their high commitment to customer service, especially in such extreme conditions.

My partner has been on at me to try here for ages, but I thought it was more like a café. I was wrong, we went there on Saturday evening and it was lovely. We had drinks outside on the patio and came into the restaurant to eat. Food was really nice. The staff work so hard, the restaurant was full with only three waiting staff but no was kept waiting. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis and would recommend this place to all.

The food didn't take long and the quality was astounding. Sometimes restaurants serve cheap tasting meals but our food was excellent. Pizza was crafted beautifully and the pasta was exquisite.

You have not tasted food until you’ve tasted food at metro. Every mouthful of food was followed with an explosive array of colours that filled my mouth with such delight that I couldn’t help but smile with every chew. But hey, come and see for yourself.

The food was so amazing and scrumptious! They even have crazy golf where you can play before or after your food at the restaurant. I went there for a birthday party with the family and couldn’t ask for a better service and food.

June 2019. I was sat down and offered a menu and a drink very quickly. Great. Ordered the focaccia and olives to start. The bread was not traditional. It resembled an over cooked pitta bread with rosemary garnish and the olives seemed to have deteriorated owed to the curse of time, to which we all tick to its cruel beat. The pasta was great and service was good. Wouldn’t agree with the best restaurant I’ve been too but not the worst by far.

Metro is one of the best resturants i have been to.. The food was very.good with huge choice of pasta and pizza dishes..and they offer great kids menu. Great selection of desserts and ice cream was spoilt for choice.. The service was amazing ruiz greeted us and made us feel very welcome and our waiter helder was very attentive and was very friendly and polite and ensured we had the best service.

We went to Metro Italia a few months ago and have returned several times since. The waiter, Helder has been very attentive and friendly with excellent menu recommendations when we have been indecisive.the food is very good and has a lot of choice.the restaurant has a great atmosphere attracting family and friends of all ages.

Booked a table for 2pm for 7 diners on Mothers Day - had never been to this place before but the reviews for the food were on the whole quite complimentary. We arrived, the (small) restaurant was packed/diners waiting to be seated - there was nowhere to comfortably stand without being jostled by waiters/diners coming in/out - not nice for an elderly mum to be pushed about. We sat down to eat at 2.30pm, after 5mins was asked to move tables. Food arrived, pizza for the kids was forgotten and then arrived as everyone had finished eating. Waiter kept on saying their food was coming/it was in the oven etc. Didn't quite know what truths, if any, were being spoken but our dining experience ended in an hour, no service charge paid.

From the moment you enter this restaurant the staff are welcoming. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, lead by a great manager who goes the extra mile to listen to the customers. The food is consistly fresh, well cooked and presented. The service is excellent.

Hemos estado viviendo en esta área durante más de 6 años y descubrimos el lugar cuando mi hermana y yo nadamos en la piscina en la misma área. La comida aquí es excepcional. Son buenas raciones grandes. También tienen helados increíbles, así como postres de helados. Recomiendo encarecidamente el boloñesa de espagueti. Mi hermana es lactosa, tolerante y se la toman muy bien cuando venimos. Los camareros son muy amables.

To my great sadness I’m writing a negative review of one of my favourite places to eat.

We have been there several times now and the quality of the food and service is consistently very good. Pasta or pizza, nothing to criticize. Usually that kind of restaurant, in sports venues or golf clubs, are average at best, but this one is special. The family feel of it, the kindness of the staff, make for a very nice experience. My favorites are simple: spaghetti bolo for £8.95 or Spaghetti Marinara (sea food) for £12.95. Good draft beer, Pimms in the summer...what else ? We willbe back again !

I would like to address what a pathetic service we received today.

The staff are great and the vibe is good also a really nice location. I was a little disappointed with the food as it wasn’t cheap but the seafood in my pasta dish was quite over-cooked

Have a weekly meeting here as part of a Business group. Spaghetti Bolognese is excellent. Atmosphere was very good staff are very attentive.

Went there on a business lunch asked specifically whether I couple things on the menu were either fresh or frozen and was told they were fresh. Turned out to be untrue I know the difference between a frozen hamburger and a fresh ground beef one. They do nice ice cream. Certainly would be careful what I order in future if I was to return.

A great night with friends. The service was good and the food was delicious, but the only problem was the waiters were rushing us in the end as they wanted to close it down and home- we had to rush through the dessert.

Food always good here and big choice not only of pizza and pasta but meat dishes too. Visit regularly with friends and family and never disappointed.

La ubicación de este restaurante es un poco raro. Los residentes locales saben dónde encontrarla y la mayoría sólo saber de palabra de boca o fue encontrado porque está al lado de un campo de prácticas y los sarracenos se han trasladado su baja cerca. I was invited here by a close friend of 66 years only ( we met when we were 2 ) for lunch with his family on his birthday. I have never been here and was very pleasantly surprised. The place was interesting modern yet oldy worldy with tudor beams. It is situated at the golf course but a completely different enterprise. It is also by the Saracens Rugby club. There was a real mix of customers , golfers, rugby players and people like us out for lunch. The only minus was that it was noisy from the people talking. High glass ceiling , can't do much about that. The service was great , the food well presented and very tasty. I will certainly go back and also try the Ruislip branch to see if the food is as good.

Unfortunately we took our grandma here for her birthday. It was clear the restaurant was full of frustrated customers who had been waiting over an hour for their meal. We sat down and had to wait 30mins for someone to take our order. 55mins later...

Have eaten here twice and both times the staff have been very welcoming and friendly to ensure we had a good time! The food is excellent and the restaurant caters for large and small groups. Thank you!

Booked this restaurant as I had been before and really liked it. I then decided to have my daughters birthday here and they didn’t disappoint! The food was amazing! even though we were a very large group we got served quickly and the service was fantastic. They catered to all the kids (and their fussy eating habits) and could not do anymore to make my daughters night more special! Thank you Metro Piazza for an amazing evening as always!

Mi esposa había comido el almuerzo aquí hace algunas semanas y me gustó bastante. Sobre esa base, decidimos cenar y qué error fue. Los camareros son muy amables, por tanto, las dos estrellas. Sin embargo, la comida! ! ! ! ! Entrantes Ensalada Tricolor: estaban bien) y sopa minestrone hasta helados hechos (ninguna cantidad de sal y pimienta podría cambiar una sopa sin sabor). You have to visit the newly refurbished Metro. Beautifully and tastefully done. We had a whole section to ourselves in a large square table seating 16 people. The staff could not have been more attentive and the food was excellent. You could not fail to find something you liked on the varied menu. Would highly recommend.

My friend and I decided on an Italian meal on a Tuesday evening and as I hadn’t been to Metro since the restaurant was extended and redecorated we decided to come here. A great decision. Plenty of free parking in a car park in the shadows of the Allianz Arena in Mill Hill where Saracens play their rugby matches. We both had Penne Arrabiata which was perfectly cooked and a good size portion. We shared a side salad which was plentiful. I had a large glass of house red - excellent, my friend had a Peroni and we both had coffee afterwards. For the quality of the food and including service the bill came to £20 each which I thought was very reasonable. Will come here again.

Primera vez desde su restauración. Muy agradable. Teníamos Escalopes de ternera fue excelente. Un servicio encantador. La necesidad de garantizar la gestión de los inodoros son regularmente revisadas, ya que no eran muy agradables. Pero todos pasamos un fin bueno. Y volveremos.

I've been to this restaurant on a few occasions but the first time since its refurbishment. Pleasant surroundings by the Golf complex and Allianz Park and nicely decorated. I chose Spaghetti Bolognaise and this was excellent - fresh pasta in a nice meaty sauce well presented and piping hot. My friend had a tuna baguette with salad which also looked good. Service is good if maybe a little stretched at times.
