Everything was excellent, except a number of desserts not available. It was especially disappointing as we had the set menu and were restricted on our choices

I have been eating here for a long time and I am shocked I haven't left a review yet! Firstly the service is 10/10, nothing is ever too much for the staff, I am unsure her name but there's a lady who always takes our takeaway order who's a credit to this restaurant and I hope the owner sees this because she's so friendly, kind, helpful and just wonderful! As for the food oh my goodness it's delicious! I always get the same thing stir fry beef with shiitake mushrooms, vege spring rolls, pak choy with garlic & noodles with beansprouts and it's always packed full of flavour, I end up endlessly craving those noodles as they are so good and it's enough to last me for 2 meals which is wonderful! (if the lady who serves us sees this and recognises my order I am so sorry I don't know your name but thank you for the amazing service I know she's been there for 11/12 years now). I know it's expensive but it's Kosher however it's 100% worth it! HIGHLY recommend and quite honestly the food and service is MUCH better than Kaifeng!

Great kosher Chinese food. Restaurant can get a little loud but can't really knock it for that. The crispy shredded beef is a must have.

Not a positive review, unfortunately. It's kosher food, and it's Chinese. I think that about sums it up. All our dishes came out within two minutes of ordering, so it's obviously pre-cooked. The duck, for example, was so dry that it crumbled! Duck shouldn't crumble. The staff are okay but apathetic; that's because a service charge is added to the bill by default, so there's no incentive for them to provide good service. And because it's kosher, it's very expensive. £180 for three.

Great food but rather expensive

Had a fantastic time at met su yan for a private party. They provided plenty of food and drink, great variety and good service.

This place is one of the best restaurants around in edgeware. The food tastes authentic and tasty and it has the most amazing feel, vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant, feeling upper class and fancy yet being affordable. The food comes fast when you order takeaway and eat in. I specifically ordered imperial hör dourves and that included spring rolls which were delicious and flavourful, sesame chicken toast which has the most decadent and rich flavour and my all time favourite seaweed served at any restaurant which is crispy and not oily and greasy, their satay chicken has me converted to a savoury peanut butter lover as the mix of sweet and savoury hits the taste buds and delights them.

Actually ordered a delivery. Hot & Sour soup. Soup base was nice. Very little of meat and vegetables. Lacking substance. Singapore Maifun was ok but not spicy. Stir fried mix vegetables was the better choice. Anyhows. Truth be told was that my meal was ok. But just ok. Menu i find a bit too expensive for the what you actually are getting.

Good chinese restaurant. Good choice, and exactly what you would expect ..

We went to Met Su Yan with our son and daughter-in-law and had a very enjoyable evening and a delicious meal. The restaurant was pleasantly uncrowded and fairly quiet for a Sunday evening. The service was excellent andbthere is plenty of choice to choose from on the menu.

Pretty good, service was prompt and food good

I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. The food is superb and the service is excellent. It isn't cheap but one never feels short-changed. Highly recommended.

We went there with some friends, as we occasionally do. The food was, as ever, excellent and the service was very friendly and prompt. The decor is great and the hygiene is excellent. But I have only given one star for atmosphere - trouble is, there is too much of it! In other words, it was one of the noisiest restaurants I have ever visited. It was bad enough when we arrived but after about fifteen minutes two young gentleman came to sit at a table next to ours; one of them had a loud and strident voice and insested on yelling to his companion, who himself was quietly spoken. So, if you are going merely for the food and don't want to talk to your companions, that's fine - just bring earplugs. If you want to speak to those with you, then go elsewhere. In our case, it ruined what would otherwise be a great evening. It's not the fault of the staff or even the noisy diners. It's the hard surfaces on the walls, with nothing to absorb the noise. I have been to many restaurants much larger and with more people and there is just a general bakground hubbub rather than a painful racket. I don't think the management are worried about this as they get lots of diners in who don't seem to mind. I don't think they'd care if we never went back so in future we shall just meet elsewhere. But I do feel worried that the staff who work there might suffer damage to their hearing by being exposed to this racket for hours on end, day in, day out.

Delivery took quite some time and when the food finally arrived it was really blend. I couldn’t taste no salt or soya sauce

Excellent food and service. It got a bit too noisy to be pleasant when it got full. A few soft furnishings would assist but stupendous food and service.

Delicious kosher Chinese / Pan-Asian restaurant. One of our favourite kosher places! Excellent service. Good value for money.

The service was very poor and 4 out of 6 meals were served luke warm and were sent back to the kitchen. The servers were nowhere to be seen when we wanted to order extra drinks. The wait between coursers was very long. Would not recommend this restaurant. On receiving the bill I told the manager that I was not prepared to pay the 12.5% service charge.

A consistently good Asian fusion kosher restaurant. Service is swift and friendly and the set meals (actually quite wide choices) offer reasonably priced alternatives to the a la carte menu. Booking essential.

Quite tasty food. Each had its own entity. Sichuan lamb, chicken satay, vegetable fried rice without eggs. One vegetable fried rice with eggs. Two other lamb dishes. All dishes were tasty. The service was very good. Daniella was great. She even arranged for a small taste the hot and sour so that my wife could be sure that it was not too spicy. Dessert was good too. Thank you everyone!

Food too oily compared to other Chinese restaurants visited and also bland and expensive for what you get. But they do have a decent amount of vegetarian/ vegan choices.

Terrific meal! The Imperial hors d'oeuvres plate is a must.

Metsuyan ticks ALL the boxes! It's a nice space, the aircon was set at the perfect temperature, and the food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Add friendly and helpful staff (our waitress was just wonderful) and what more could you ask for? Thank you for making our special evening extra-special :)

Nice but pricey and 12.5% service charge I addition.

This is my local Kosher Chinese restaurant and cannot fault a single thing! I do not remember her name she's Romanian (I am so sorry) who knows my family well, she's so polite, friendly, lovely and I always get the same when I come in here vege spring rolls, seaweed, beef with shittake mushrooms & noodles and sometimes egg fried rice and the food is so fresh, delicious and just wonderful. I have eaten in too and the service again is always so wonderful, I have eaten at the branch in Golders Green too and zero complaints massive portions, well priced and I always have leftovers for the next day. Just a tip if anyone's seaweed arrives a tad soggy put it in the oven for 2-5 mins but keep an eye on it as it gets burnt very quickly. 10/10 customer service, 10/10 for the food and I cannot recommend this restaurant any higher than I am already!

We came here for a private party on a Friday night. Because it was the sabbath they had cooked to food in the afternoon and it must have remained in warm ovens. As a kosher restaurant I still do not understand how they could get away with serving anyone during the sabbath. The food was so over cooked tasteless and not hot. The vegetables were so over cooked that they were inedible and filled bowls of it were left. The chicken dish was so dry it was virtually impossible to chew as was the beef dish. The desert was awful. We were hungry when we left.

Amazing restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is second to none. The prices are reasonable and not a rip off like other places.

The restaurant has evolved a wonderful waitor team, atmosphere and menu. Relaxed, laid back atmosphere, attentive and helpful staff and thoroughly good food. My only gripe - the vegetarian menu could do with a little expansion at this stage. The current options are delicious; it would just, in this more vegan/vegetarian orientated era, be nice to have a few more on offer. I'm still giving it 5 stars as it's otherwise a consistently great eaterie.

Never been here before - surprisingly good

Situated at the lower end of Edgwarebury Lane, near Hale Lane. Parking difficult but available in the surrounding streets. Friendly staff greeted us on entry. The restaurant has little character inside but the food was great. Nicely presented and delicious. Most of the regular dishes that you would expect from a 'Chinese', with a few exceptions. Met Su Yan has been my very best kosher experience in London ever! Great kind professional staff. Service excellent. Food so delicious, we enjoyed every course enormously! Prices very reasonable. Only knew The Blue Lagoon in Antwerp, this restaurant is much more refined in choices, tasts and ambiance. I can't wait to come back! On top of it : meals are served quickly. It looks great, it tastes heavenly and the atmosphere is so warm. As a customer you feel truly welcome! Thanks you you, staff of Met Su Yan!

I have visited Metsuyan in edgeware 6 or 7 times in the last year or so and found the food tender and tasy - But yesterday’s meal was nearly £100 for 3 with no starters. The Sizzling Lamb and the lamb curry had 3 minuscule slices in for £19 each - Sorry but this is pure greed. I will not frequent them again…

Nice clean restaurant, but the food was just "ok". Prices were as expected for the area, however I found my food to be fairly bland, and a little watery. From order to table was approx 10 mins, which rang alarm bells. Suggests it's not cooked to order, but already bulked up somewhere? The one waitress was friendly, but I felt a little bit judged when I first walked in, as my colleagues and I were wearing our work uniforms. We're back in the same area next week, but will probably try elsewhere.

Frankly it's nice not to have to think about the food. Just order all the meat dishes you want without worry! Had the 3 course £35 menu. Great choices. Particularly terrifically tasty chocolate mousse.

I had read some less than complimentary reviews before we went, but it was lovely. The staff were friendly, and very sweet with my little girl. The food was really tasty and arrived quickly, and with good portion sizes. We ate off the set lunch menu, opting for the vegetarian choice but there were plenty of other options. The restaurant was really nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. I’m so glad we went and decided to go with an open mind. Would definitely go back.

I recently took my wife to her favourite restaurant, Met Su Yan in Edgware, for lunch. They have a very reasonable two course lunch-time menu. We both agreed that the food was really tasty and excellent value. The staff were very attentive and we had a very pleasant time. We will return for more soon! Thanks.

The food was very tasty with good sized portions. I recommend the set lunch menu which has plenty of dishes to choose between and is good value. Only three tables were occupied the mid week lunch time we were there so we had plenty of space between each group of people.

We were there Monday night to celebrate being with Sister and Brother in law for the first time in two years, due to Covid, and thought we would treat ourselves as have always been pleased in the past. However this was a very disappointing experience food was only look warm and did not taste as fresh as it could have done. Not a happy experience gave the manager an opportunity to show some customer good will, albeit the next day but he did not want to know. Won't be going to Met Su Yan again. Expensive and on this occasion not nice.

A real disappointment as in the past the food has been good. Unfortunately not this time. Certainly did not meet our expectations and don't think we would go there again.

Had take away for 2 several times. Was ready to collect very quickly which was great. The front of house was polite and food was good. Now been in for dinner with family and was excellent. Staff and owner were extremely polite and professional and friendly which is important to me. Great restaurant and good food. Would return!

First off I have to say the food was delicious so if you have a regular diet then ignore this message. We went for a family anniversary and on phone the restaurant was guaranteed a gluten free menu (I'm coeliac). The first two courses were fine. On the gluten free dessert menu chocolate mousse was offered. When receiving the chocolate mousse I was about to eat it when my husband noticed the base of the mousse was a biscuit type base. Thankfully I spoke to (I think) the manager who told me there was either a gluten free or gluten chocolate mousse and I as given the wrong one. This is so wrong. I kept telling them throughout the meal to please remember I was gluten free and coeliac and had I eaten the mousse I would have been sick for days. It would also have taken me weeks to fully recover back to normal. This is why I am leaving a review... if a restaurant states they are GF they they need to commit 100%. This is not just a trend, this a something serious.

Chinese kosher food is a novelty for many people. That means no pork. A place to go with friends or family in the area and/or who only eat meat if it is kosher. You can get duck and other kosher meat. Pictures on the wall. Banquette seats. The food and wines were quite pricey for our budget so check the menu online and see if it suits you. We had previously experienced a more fun atmosphere and tastier meal for an evening birthday party with more of us eating, drinking, and swapping and sharing food. For me at lunch time the highlight was the mango dessert. They have another branch nearer central London.

Great food. Not cheap. Service is normally good, though can be a bit hit and miss. Overall, I would recommend it, but if you don't eat kosher, you will struggle to find this good value. Particularly bad value for vegetarian options.

The serves was excellent. The food tasted like it was from Heaven. I am very happy for there to be a delicious kosher restaurant right round the corner. The waiters a kind, and the restaurant it's self is tidy a pleasant to eat in.

This is a kosher restaurant and the food is marvellous. Being kosher it is not cheap but we'll worth it. It is fusion asian and does it well.

Had a really good takeaway delivered to us a couple of weeks ago. Will order again. Shame not answering the phone tonight but perhaps they are closed over the New Year.

We had takeaway from you on Sunday 14 June and the food was awful. We didn't think anything had been freshly cooked, from the soggy seaweed, to the worst lamb ribs we have ever tasted, in fact they were totally inedible, I could go on. We were so unhappy with the meal that most of it ended up in the bin. We emailed you the same evening to give you some feedback. Not only were we extremely unhappy with the food but your lack of response confirms that we will not be using you again.

I was in the restaurant couple of months ago and the food was amazing. Tonight I had to take a takeaway delivery. Very tasty food and the driver was very polite and respectful regarding my social distancing wishes.

A very nice meal. We had the imperial hors d'oeuvres and they kindly swapped the sesame toast for chicken wings, which was good service. The duck in pancakes was good. We shared crispy chilli beef, sweet and sour chicken, sizzling lamb, egg fried rice, noodles and beansprouts and green beans between 3 people. There was plenty of food. The sizzling lamb was a bit disappointing but the rest was good. It could have been hotter. For dessert we shared toffee bananas and lyches with ice cream - both were good. They add on 15% service charge

There was a lot of umming and aahing when it came to the star count here. I tend to lean on the harsher side when rating places. However there are a number of things to consider here, 1. It's kosher 2. It's Chinese, a rare commodity and thus it is decided it should be a 4. And it's not far off earning that. The staff are a little distant even when the restaurant is empty, but once you do raise there attention everything comes together. They did also let us swap a few items around so that was nice. The food it's self is pretty good. It's all tasty and we'll servered, it's just a shame a couple of dishes had obviously been waiting to come out (again the restaurant was empty) and had started to get cold. One or two dishes just didn't do them selfs justice but overall it was as stated pretty good. The biggest shame here is that they have obviously tried to stay competitive and not raise there prices. But instead portions are now smaller, achieving the same goal without the consumer noticing.....as much The set menu does seem to make the most sense and covers all the bases. I guess the only thing left if you have read this far....is to try it for your self!

Wonderful, as the name would suggest

I honestly used to really like this place. It’s gone through ups and downs but after my last visit I can’t see myself coming back. The prices have risen quite substantially with their new menu, but the quality of the food and the portion sizes...

Chicken chowmain was half a portion abseloutly tasteless...Singapore fried noodles was nothing like I've had before, the guy i ordered with didnt tell me it's not the usual recipe and they make their own because they're kosher. Paid £33 and still hungry, thanks.

Got a takeaway here last night. No complaints. Loved each dish.

From start to finish Daniel and his team could not have done more to ensure that every one of our 60 guests had the most enjoyable afternoon. The atmosphere and service were really excellent. Having followed every one of Daniel’s recommendations every dish was both delicious and copious. Special mentions for the imperial hors d’oeuvres, duck and pancakes, steak in black bean, crispy beef and sweet and sour chicken. Highly recommended both for a celebration and for a meal with friends.

Really excellent meal. Imperial starter, Crispy Duck & selection of mains were all superb, Sizzling Steak in Black Bean and Lemon Chicken in particular. All was beautifully presented and service with a smile.
