Carmelli in Barnet

Searching online for somewhere to get bagels in Golders Green, but although they have bagels for sale they told me they don't do beef. Disappointed.

Simply the best cakes!! I could honestly buy the whole shop, everything looks so delicious and the staff are really helpful.

Amazing Bakery, all the delicious pastries, homemade cookies and cakes, and my favourite bread challah always fresh. Lovely Beygals as well.

Estaba satisfecho con los recipientes de ensalada de atún, ensalada de huevo y queso crema. El pan rebanado estaba bien. No compré los sándwiches preparados ni ningún pastel. ¿VALIÓ LA PENA EL COSTO? Estaba bien. ¿“VOLVERÍA A VISITAR EL LUGAR”? Quizás/probablemente porque está muy céntrico ASESORAMIENTO Es la panadería más grande en la mejor ubicación privilegiada

There is no place to sit. The food is delicious but very expensive. The employees themselves do not answer questions that for them are not legitimate questions. Costs about 3 times more than other places whose price is expensive as well.

We came across this place and thought the food looked nice, but we came back 3 times during our trip because it the food was great. Everything was fresh and tasty, we even brought some baked goods home to Germany. Definitely worth a try, we will come back during our next visit !!

Whenever I have the chance to come to London (-Golders Green) I go into the bakery, and enjoy Carmeli's pastries and sandwiches. Fine and tasty food. In the morning there is the Israeli seller (I forgot his name) who gives an amazing feeling to all the customers. Highly recommended.

The staff are brilliant, the bread is gorgeous

Thieving, dishonest charlatans who lack integrity and steal from their customers. I bought a few items on 8 January and upon leaving the shop I noticed that a plain croissant had been added to my bill which I did not order. I went back and after showing the man that served me the receipt he gave me the money. Please note that the majority of items conveniently do not have prices displayed. Whilst paying it was difficult to keep track of what I was being charged for as the till displayed several unrelated items in addition to my items, as if they had been deliberately put there with the intention of confusing customers. Upon pointing this out I was told to 'forget it'. The staff here are rude, cold and unwelcoming. At the very best they’re incompetent, at the very worst they're criminal. The high street is grim and depressing. Avoid and go elsewhere.

Carmelli got us through 3 days of breakfast and lunch since kosher options open late in Golders Green and are non-existent in the center of London. The coffee is prepared with attention and I warmly recommend the chocolate and almond croissants and the delicious triangle sandwiches (salmon, tuna and egg salad), all very tasty and hygienic. The prices are also reasonable compared to all other options we tried. Carmelli is the very best if you're staying in Golders Green.

Hace años viajábamos a través de Londres para venir aquí a por el pastel de queso más sobresaliente. Se vendía por lonchas desde bandejas enormes y era verdaderamente delicioso. Lo que acabamos de comprar fue horrible. Se vende en un horrible recipiente de plástico y degustación de ingredientes artificiales baratos. Después de solo dos bocados el resto se fue a la papelera. Para añadir insulto el precio era ridículo. Solo puede asumir un cambio de propiedad.

We have really enjoyed the salmon bagel :) and the cheesecake (very big portion)! I have noticed they sales a low sugar version of the cake too!! My boyfriend said this was his childhood memory and is highly recommended by his mum :)

Best bagels!! But this place is more than that. Whenever I feel like I am missing some yummy pastries from Israel this is my go to and it reminds me of home. Mazel!

I would highly recommend this bakery for their rugelachs! They have them with chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and they're all incredible! Prices wise, it can be a bit expensive but it's definitely worth it

All good products!!!! It's like being at home...we were in London for a few days unfortunately, but we had a great time. Many greetings to the owner of the shop we saw in the evening!!!

As prices go up, taste goes down. What once was the premiere bakery in Golders Green, is now, in my opinion, nothing special and overpriced at that!

Walk inside, and the amazing smells will do their job. Best Rogalach and Challa bread - in all shapes and sorts, that one can find. They keep their high quality for many years. Wishing I lived nearby to go there more often...

Expensive and low quality. The young lady is very rude, made me feel unwelcome. It was my First and last time!

I’m thoroughly disappointed. I ordered a birthday cake, discussed it with the baker in store who gave me a heads up that she didn’t have edible glitter in store, however everything else was possible. I was shocked at what I spent my money on when I picked up the cake. It was very lazily done, I couldn’t even take a picture of it to share with loved ones and had to buy an alternative cake elsewhere. I had my birthday cake done here last year and it turned out perfect. I’m not sure what happened but I won’t risk it again What I ordered vs What I got ..

Expensive and low quality bakery. There are no prices available on most of their items so it can be quite shocking when it comes to paying. The £2.80 bureka was greasy, textureless and bland. I would only consider buying the bagels or challah here.

Currently the best bagel shop in london, including any of the hipster and old school joints you’ve seen online. It has great challah bread as well and decent rugelach if I remember correctly. For non-jews just remember its closed saturdays. Use the day of rest to meditate on why other hackney hipsters can’t bake a bagel to save their lives, but will still charge £10 each for the attempt.

Went few days ago to buy doughnuts for Chanukah and omg they were sooo dry! Also their bagels are super dry! Just avoid this place. Go to other bakery (lime Parkway) which serve fresh stuff!

Decent bit should seperate totally vegetarian and meat items.

Being a West Londoner I am at an extreme disadvantage in my choice of bagels. Despite excursions to Whole Foods and MandS there is absolutely nothing that compares to the unique taste and quality of a Carmelli bagel. Even the cost of petrol to get there makes it all worthwhile for that very first mouthful- yum

Being an international visitor on holidays, it's hard to find a good place to eat. We had this bakery next to our accommodation. I'd thought I'd give it a go for afternoon tea. Their cakes and pastries are amazing. I called in every day for the week we were there and got something to either take with us for the day or got something for a cuppa after dinner. I noticed the magnificent wedding cakes on display as well. The staff were always friendly and the store was really clean.

Average bakery. The cheese Bourekh that I had was nice but nothing exceptional. The lady was very cheerful and nice. The gentleman showed no customer service I’m afraid.

Extremely unfriendly staff! Not just that just very unhelpful with an attitude that they have something better to do than help with placing your order. My household loved their fruit gateau and has been the go to for past 4+ and possibly anymore. They added so much sugar and it tastes very different. Called after 2years of not bothering with their cakes but lady who usually answers just always has better things to do with an attitude you can pick up. Her tone is not helpful or friendly almost intimidating and ordering a cake shouldnt be an unpleasant task. I think they have enough customers and not looking to improve at all. I'm off to Patisserie Valerie who do just as delicious cakes where I don't have to put up with rude customer service.

Yum! Delicious selection of tasty pastries. Still the best bakery around. Make sure to get some of the Florentines, almond cookies with chocolate.

This is their cinnamon roll. Soft, slightly crispy, perfect balance between the sugar, butter and cinnamon taste. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices considering is a small business.

Always worth the shlep from SW London to pick up a large rye but couldn't the challot be reduced in price a little? Nearly £4 for a medium is somewhat hard to swallow.

Not had Jewish bread for ages , so I got some to try , I know Jewish products are expensive, I am not Jewish but I guess the reason why Jewish products are expensive because Jewish people have good luxury products not cheap stuff so I guess that's what you are paying for plus it's handmade , as a treat I not mind getting Jewish bread once a week. I have been going to Carmelli since 1991. The best bakery this side of town. I have no words to describe the bagels, challa and rugelach. Absolutely amazing. Carmelli set the bar way too high for anyone to follow. My parner and I wouldnt touch a bagel or challah unless it was made by Carmelli. To everyone at Carmelli thanks for all these years of awesome food. Keep it going!!!!!

Carmelli is an easy bakery with a great quick shop and go selection. Food is great. Service is great. Prices slightly high, but worth it.

Was given the longest, absolute most foulest of dirty looks when walking into the shop from one of the girls that work there. You would think if you wanted people to buy your products you wouldnt do this, you know... Prices are hilariously high even within this day and age. Honestly just go to daniels for better food and service.

Oh dear what has happened? Lovely mini pastries gone, Wimpey style slices of cake in plastic boxes. Change of ownership is very disappointing.
