MeriGo Piri Piri (Small Heath) in Birmingham

Asian lad on the till has a severe attitude problem. Seems he needs a change of career if he dislikes it so much. Very rude. Seemed to cry after I asked about the lack of toilet facilities even though by law it is a requirement if there’s over seating for 10, which this establishment has seating for 26. Poor attitude. Poor service. Think his Mrs left him for the postman. He said it is okay to drink toilet water after refusing to provide drinking water. Poor hygiene and attitude from the young man.

Very disappointed that I lost my food and money. I accept it was my fault for not checking the delivery address before completing the order. But I wish I could contact the delivery driver to rearrange the delivery to my correct address. Or it would make sense for the delivery driver to contact me directly when the delivery was rejected at the wrong address. I could have gone to the driver to take the food from him as the correct address was close by. Very sad.

Peri peri was dry and had no flavours. Period!

The chicken was nice, unfortunately the rice was lukewarm and pasta. The sauces tub had opened in the bag leaving a mess. Also the packing of the chicken had gone soggy and ripped from the corners leaving a mess. And this shop is only few minutes away from me!!

Used to eat here occasionally when I was local, moved out the area so decided to get it delivered via Just Eat. 15 minutes after the latest time it still said courier at the restaurant but didn't turn up. The reason for the 1 star is because of the guy that answered when I called. Rude guy who usually isn't as I've been in store and always been good but because of this experience I won't eat from here again (not like it'd matter to them as I'm only one customer). First put the blame on the driver and to call him, then I explained that it's still showing that courier at restaurant. Made it out like he's done his job and blamed it on Just Eat drivers who aren't linked to them and to call them as it says delivered on their end and made it out that I was lying. Even if that was the case being delivered on their end he could've handled it better as I had a similar situation with another restaurant where they handled it better.

Foods not the same anymore chicken in burgers was very hard and dry. Couldn’t even take a bite out of the burger properly and we asked for hot flavour and it was really bland. Not much taste in the food. I feel merigo’s is not the same as it used it be.

Food was excellent service time was good portion size was nice for the cost of meal.

The hot full piri piri chicken 🐓 is delightful, the sauce is extremely tasty and chicken grilled to perfection. The shop is spotlessly clean and the guys are very friendly.

I had the barbecued legend Pannier want it hot chicken too dry for my liking I had drip onto chilli sauce order milkshake didn't have it so have water the meal instead big let down after didn't eaten anything during day until now looking forward to it boy big disappointment eating experience for me eating area it self it was clean no offence I had better elsewhere

Came here Thursday evening Hardly any customers in the shop but still had to wait 40 minutes for my small order Ended up listening to some Kashmiri talking nonstop in their language to the owner which was highly annoying. Food wasn't nice, the sauces they provided taste nasty, especially the red

the food was great. nice fresh and hot unfortunately the cheap toy let the experience down for the kids. kids prefer colours or a maze or idk a bouncy ball. not rings and watches. maybe even a cheap car. a stretchy man. sk nay penny toys you can substitute for.

Had a burrito meal today. Was fantastic fresh food.

Overall, food taste as good. Only one thing which should be considered is quality of Bun used for burgers as it was not of finest quality. Would recommend to visit.

Was in town for a few days with work. Ate here 3 times in 4 days. Well presented and clean. Staff friendly. Food was genuinely excellent. Tikka Masala Pita Bread sandwich is my firm favourite, not just here, but of all the fast food I've eaten. Oh amd it is very well priced. Great value. Highly recommend! Need you guys in London!!!

This place has top quality food. Zinger burgers are perfect in terms of crunch, taste and texture. The peri peri chicken is cooked to perfection always. Fries are 10/10 . Highly recommend.

Burnt food , caused me to vommit. Raised the issue to Mr Adnan who calls himself the owner, he started crying about gas prices and how he is struggling. Still this does not excuse handing out burned food. The place deserves to be reported to food standards , clearly burned food is a problem as per the numerous reviews on this place

Rude cashier did not inform us that we couldn’t eat inside before we ordered then when we did he began to shout at us letting us know we can’t eat inside even though it was 30-45 minutes before the store is set to close. We had to go out in the rain with paper bags and the food became soggy. Very bad first time experience and will never come here again

Since I have been going to merigo the young chap at the front is very friendly he has one of the best service out there always smiling never angry or moody like other places he is the face of merigo he is very professional an hardworking whenever I go I always see this chap working very hard keep up the great work an the food is absolutely astonishing people need to try it out

Its not going to make the shop bankrupt by giving 1 extra sauce tub, foods ok but its like the third time you guys wouldn’t dare give an extra sauce after paying for like 2 extra and asking in the notes. Some stingy brothers🤣

The burgers and milkshakes are great. The waiters are nice and the service is quick. It would be great if the restaurant replaced Coke, Sprite, Pepsi and Fanta with alternatives to stop supporting companies that support the genocide in Palestine.

Visited merigo stechford on the opening food was amazing and staff went out their way to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Thank you to head chef abid for looking after us. Definetly worth a visit

I ordered the chicken pasta box in mild although it’s a small box it’s a heavy box especially with the amount of grilled chicken pieces it’s very filling on its own and the large fries were a big portion. I really enjoyed my order you can really taste the quality especially the grilled chicken I found this to be a healthy alternative to fried.

Basically they are trying to copy Pepe’s peri peri. Big portion of fries and rice but not much flavour. Chicken also did not have much flavour.

The worst chicken shop ever! Ordered whole chicken it was nasty and wet the sauce disgusting! It was as if someone gave me a boiled chicken. The fries were rock solid and the drink was warm! What a waste of money! Please avoid these fraudsters at all costs

I ordered half pounder burger , wasn't cooked properly, fries were stale. Also ordered half chicken which was tasting very burnt and I could not taste any flavour at all. This place use to be good but now is downhill. Save your money and avoid!

Burnt food, quality has gone down, tried to return the burnt food immediately but Mr Adnan the owner started crying about gas prices and inflation and used that as an excuse to not refund , tried to ask for replacement and the guy tried to make out im asking for freebies. Adnan Saab (fix up your character all the reviews show there is a problem with your food often being burnt!!!!. Vomiting your food out shows there is a serious concern with your food and if you fail to address the issue it's your own loss

From my experience the chicken burgers are meady due to the fact that they are averagely flavored and rely on mayo and cheese to add an extra hint of flavor in. I asked for extra hot and the chicken barely even gave a bit of heat on my tongue just a weak chicken with no flavor. Apart from that my food was cold.. I’d rather have ordered from somewhere else than have a restaurant that sends a driver to drop 3 deliveries ( me being the last one) so all in all I won’t be eating from here again..

Rude staff - when you call to place an order, no mannerism or courtesy. Always moody and never any gratitude. Yes it’s only a fast food place but customer service is key. Don’t be rude on the phone and expect customers to come in. Terrible service & communication.

I love merino piri piri. Spot on food. Staff very very polite and helpful 👍. It would be hard to find a better restaurant. Oh yes and it's not that expensive.

Great reasonably priced food, extremely quick service and a very clean seating area. You can get a large ice cream cup and fruit milkshake for 4 pounds. Proper bargain fam

Chicken is flavourful and not just spicy
