Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel in Aberdeen City

I stayed for 4 nights @ the Mercure & had a pleasant stay, staff helpful and check-in process fast, room comfortable, wifi fast, good powerful shower over the bath, food in restaurant was ok. Hotel centrally located. Special shout out to the lady serving in the restaurant, she was very pleasant and chatty, made you feel comfortable and was always busy working away, if not serving, then cleaning, ‘what a star she was’🌟, when she had a day off there were 2 ladies looking after the bar Overall, i would definitely recommend a stay here Hotel has a small ‘paid’car park which appears to be run independently.

Excellent location,lovely staff,lift was out but didn’t dampen our spirits,reasonably priced through City Breaks,breakfast was great plenty of choice an old Hotel but works extremely well,will be back

Negative - •Food was basic and bland • bed hard and uncomfortable • we was on the first floor and could hear from the lounge below music until 1am which was so loud I couldn’t sleep went to complain and all I got was earplugs. Only reason I’m leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff was really great.

Rooms absolutely disgusting - hotel needs a full refurbishment. Carpet in our room was filthy, hairs in beds & dirty cups. Unsure how this hotel hasn’t been sued for false advertisement in their pictures. I felt like I was staying in a hostel. AVOID

A hotel with perfect location downtown Aberdeen and with a friendly atmosphere

Car parking 'logging in' and qr code confirmation pathetic, breakfast chaotic with not much left including cold coffee, no hot water for shower, curtains didn't fit properly to block light, noisy room and corridor floorboards, receptionist rude.

Clean and comfortable but sterile .Nice building with boring corporate decor.Staff not around very much . Breakfast had good choice but some food was cold.

Room and double bed very small. Overall, it is very old. The breakfast could have had a little more selection. Location OK, many things easily accessible on foot or by bus.

Had the loviest receptionist (I believe) named Wiktoria with red hair. She was so lovely and warm towards myself and really helped me when I needed it! Made a bad day a lot less. All staff were so incredibly lovely, I definitely would stay again simply due to the friendliness of the staff!

Hotel a little old, but with an unbeatable location

Very dated environment, very courteous and friendly staff.

This is a tired hotel that needs top to tail refurbishment. Carpets are worn, furniture old, paintwork in need of redecoration. The location is good and the staff provide a reasonable service. Lots to work on here.

Rooms at the rear of the building are quite noisy as you need to keep the windows open to counter the heat from the towel rail. Added to this we had one day where housekeeping failed to service our room. Okay aside from that.

Went for Gin and Tonic Afternoon Tea. Great selection of sandwiches made freshly. Choice of scones and plenty cakes. We required container to take home the cake's we didn't eat. Staff were great as always. Looking forward to going back next month for same deal

Great stay and Sharon on reception was really helpful and gave advice on taxis and booked them for her. She was friendly , the room nice and breakfast lovely! Only downside it was an adjoining room with noisey neighbours and loud bar across the road.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Right in the middle of town with a car park at the rear albeit you have to pay. Think it £12 for 24 hours. We upgraded to a suite after reading reviews of some rooms being very tired and old. Wasnt dissapointed it was large, clean and fresh with a comfy bed. All throughout the stay the stsff were good espcially Hugh in the bar and Ryan at breakfast. We had breakfast both days. The buffet hot breakfast was very good and i ordered an eggs royal from the menu which was huge and delicous. Also had an evening meal and again starter and mains were great. Certainly the public parts of the hotel stairs etc look a bit tired, but it still has its old character and feel. Would i stay here again, definately.

Great afternoon tea and lovely cake selection, Your choice of sandwich from a list of tasty fillings. We couldn't manage to eat it all (we were invited to take home what we didn't eat). The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. The surroundings are comfortable. The value of the groupon voucher (in our case for 4) was the icing on the cake. Thank you Caledonia Hotel for a lovely afternoon outing. I have given full stars, although I haven't used the rooms, as would not want to bring the satisfaction score down just because I haven't used the service.

Tradition, style and close to vibrating Aberdeen life.

The positive stars are for the really friendly staff. I had a single room that was really in the TOP 3 of my least favorite hotel rooms. I don't understand why they don't make any effort to make the rooms nicer. The room is also very old, my toilet door didn't even close and I could hear everything that was happening in this hotel. We also spontaneously chose breakfast and were surprised to find that a cappuccino was not included in the price and costs extra. That simply can't be the case for an international chain and I haven't experienced anything like that even in the cheapest hotels. Breakfast was ok, but not breathtaking. No scrambled eggs but fried eggs in stacks. Pancakes were left cold. But everything is not worthy of Mercure. We expected something better for this name. Positive, hotel is centrally located.

We had a lovely stay at Mercure this weekend! The reception staff were all super friendly, and we felt very well taken care of. We were travelling at the same time as another couple, and the hotel staff made sure we got a room next to our friends. They even gave us an upgrade to a deluxe room to do so! The rooms were a little bit worn, but nothing too bad, and felt clean and well maintained! The breakfast had a fair amount of hot and cold choices, and we were pleasantly surprised and very happy to discover that they also made omelettes and such on order, delivered to your breakfast table! Would absolutely recommend trying the omelette - it was quite large (we split it between the two of us) and it was suuuper delicious! Will definitely be back next time we visit Aberdeen!

We received a very warm welcome upon our arrival, reception helped us with parking instructions and looked after our case while we moved the car. Breakfast each morning was delicious with plenty of food to choose from. The room was cosy and clean.
