Usually our go to Indian but this time the naan was really gritty and there was this shard of plastic in the main course

We (1 adult & 1 child) visited on a Sunday for a lunch and opted for the buffet. We would highly recommend this restaurant-the buffet was excellent with a variety of great tasting Indian food at very reasonable prices. The service was also very good and attentive throughout.

Super friendly place with quality food. They'll tailor a dish to your taste if needed. Good value too.

Avoid this place at all costs! Don't be fooled by the fake positive reviews, because the reality is far from it. The food was bland and tasted like it came straight out of a microwave and the chicken was completely off. The service was atrocious; rude staff who seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves including the manager or owner, than attending to customers. The ambiance was dingy and uninviting, making the whole dining experience utterly unpleasant. Save your money and go elsewhere for authentic Indian cuisine.

We went for an early dinner without a reservation, and a table was promptly provided for us. The waiter was very helpful and assisted us in choosing the dishes. We got the Mishti Kodu Chicken which was a delightful experience, also we got butter chicken, I enjoyed its flavor with both bread and rice. We also ordered some starters & Side dishes, which was tasty. Overall, the restaurant atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were cooperative.

I feel tricked by the good reviews for this place. We ordered butter chicken, mattar paneer, saag paneer, coconut rice and naans for delivery. Everything except the saag and naan was so sugary sweet that it was inedible. I’ve truly never had such bad Indian food in my life. The consistency of the two curries was extremely thin and watery, no spice at all, no fragrance, no flavour beyond sickly sweet extremely bland tomato-y almond. The paneer and naan breads were tough and undercooked too. Hoping we just got them on a bad night, but it’s disgraceful and so upsetting to spend £40 and have to throw almost everything away.

Food always late from this restaurant now, they seem too busy for the given delivery times. I can't order from them again because of this.

Very tasty food & attentive service from staff. Staff had a great sense of humour and made us laugh. The only downside was how long we waited for our main courses, it was at least 45 minutes after we had finished our starter. We feel that delivery might have been prioritised over covers because there were a lot of drivers who seemed to be getting bags of food before it got to our table or any around us.

Don’t go here if you are a party of more than 2 people and want to eat within 2 hours of arriving. Attended a birthday dinner for 11 service was shocking, admitted the menu is out of date, waiters sprint past you ignoring you, food wait was over 2 hours, the restaurant has no ventilation so the smell and smoke just sits in the air unless they open the front door so you frequently get a blast of cold air constantly while eating. Food is on par with your average Indian takeaway some dishes oily, some dishes ok. Ordered a mild dish for a child and waiter agreed to request a mild version. It was so spicy it was inedible and then same waiter said he cannot guarantee anything can be made mild (why agree in the first place!). The toilets are disgusting in dire need of a deep clean (worse than a grotty club). For cheap date night would be excusable but a birthday dinner it was appalling.

Dishonest, don't order delivery from these guys. Ordered £70 worth on a Friday evening, was told that it would be 40 mins despite deliveroo saying it was out for delivery, never arrived. Will try to get our money back asap but will never again order from these guys out of principle. Shocking

Biriyani was tasteless. I don’t know if the chef has changed but I don’t think I’ll order from here again. Food has been below standard too many times now and I don’t want to pay for tasteless food anymore.

There was chicken korma or chicken tikka masala and then tastier or hotter options with lamb bhuna, chicken shatkora, fish jalfrezi, chicken naga - very hot was written on this. Sides were chana masala, saag aloo and tarka daal. Service was friendly at all times. We were asked a number of times if the food was ok and these seemed like genuine questions not asking but not really wanting a response you sometimes get. We won’t leave it so long next time.

Honestly the most delicious Indian food I've had in a very long time! We had a mixed starter, the tikka masala and the garlic chilli murgh masala curries, and all of our food was seriously yum! The meat was beautifully done. Service was great, house wine was yum, and we enjoyed the ambience. Would highly recommend!

Really disappointed and it has been coming. Biriyanis had no flavour and was literally full of oil. There hardly was any chicken in the biriyanis and I have noticed this has been decreasing over time - The salad looked like it was old and the poppadoms smelt off like fish and so we threw half the food away. To top it off, it said food was delivered when I was still waiting for it - it’s as if they didn’t want the food to be late on the system when it was anyway. Not happy at all

My family and I went there in winter, and it was amasingly in its own hot bubble with an amazing service and what could well be the best Indian cuisine I have tasted.

We had the Veg thali & Meat thali - both were delicious

The meal was first class Service good to begin with Sad to miss out on desert and coffee and hurried out of the restaurant before digesting. Reason. Very busy due to the Christmas season. Staff needs customer care training

2 hours late, tepid temperature, dry chicken. we always buy from memsaab but this was a terrible experience. i called 3 times to find out where it was, the first time at 835pm (the eta was 815) and the time frames given during each call were inaccurate hence calling again

Every time I’ve used this restaurant. I knew the food not the best here. The customer service for me personally is great. You go out to have a good time. Last week was the killer for us. The food were a letdown. So we decided to stop going there again. Like I said the staff are pol but the food? No

My favourite Indian restaurant in London.

Our favourite Indian in East Dulwich. The food is super tasty, I would recommend the lamb Karahi. The staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is laid back meaning it’s the perfect place to go for some good food and a few drinks.

The order was late, by an hour. The food was OK but half the order was missing.

Quorn korma was pretty inedible, small hard grey chunks that barely resembled the quorn product. Possibly overcooked or pre cooked and left out. Pilau rice tasted like plain boiled rice. Mensaab are cutting corners these days, have used them for years but time to change.

Terrible !!! The food was nearly 30 mins late, when I called I was told it was 2 mins away and then it was 10 and then when I called the Katz time the guy hung up on me . The order took 1 hr 20 mins to complete (and food was cold when it arrived).

Our order was about an hour late. We were really disappointed with the reaction of the restaurant who refused to give us any money back for the delay. We’ve been customers for years and love the food but that service is really disappointing.

I just ordered Lamb Tawa Masala, Mattar Paneer, Cauliflower Bhaji with naans on JustEat. I called them to ask them to make it spicy with fresh green chillies. They called back to say that the paneer is normally mild and a little sweet but I insisted I don't want it like that. They absolutely gave me exactly what I wanted. Delicious!

Disappointed in the quality of the food. This is the first time I have to complain, the portion was less than normal and quality was disappointing.

Food was delicious every time I order from this restaurant it does not disappoint!

I have never experienced such rude staff before in my life. After I asked for a second glass of wine, and relaxed with it to finish off the meal I was eating in the company of my husband and a friend, a waiter came and tried to get us to pay and leave. I explained that we were not ready yet. This scene repeated 3 times, with 3 different waiters and an increasing degree of insistence - but worse of all was their alarming familiarity. They all thought it was OK to keep patting me - in a supposedly "friendly" way, but in fact breathtakingly patronising and rude! - manner on my arm. May I add that I am a woman well past her retirement age and do not expect to be handled by strangers in any context, and especially not when I pay to for a relaxing time out. We had been there twice before - but never again. The manager came in the end to explain that they had a booking waiting. Well, not my problem, surely? And if they knew that they were squeezing us in before an imminent booking, the normal way restaurants deal with this situation is to say "But we have a booking for such and such time, will you be able to finish by then?" So the problem was caused by their greed and total lack of understanding what eating out means to the customers. I had already thought they were crassly overfamiliar on a previous occasion, but the totally repellent physical contact was a first. The oversweet, greasy food and tepid rice really did not merit having to suffer this appalling lack of most rudimentary manners. Avoid like the plague!

Best Indian restaurant in the area by far

Ordered at 7pm food didn’t arrive till 9pm. Called the restaurant and they said it would be there in 20 minutes it then took another 40. The food was then cold and the Curry tasted like water. Wouldn’t order from here again!

The first time I ordered from here, the food was amazing. The second time, it was not as fresh. When it's fresh, the food is amazing.

First and last order with this restaurant. Food very bland and tasteless. Extremely tough chicken. 2 tiny samosas, naan was tasty. Overall very poor value for money. Will never buy again.

We went for Sunday buffet and were served by Mahfuj who was a wonderful host and treated us like royalty. The buffet selection of food was incredible, fish Jalfreizi, Naga curry (which was amazing), among so much more. Such a good price and (I think) now the only tandoori that does a Sunday buffet in Dulwich. Massively recommend, go check it out x

A lot of my favourite restaurants have closed, leaving me without favourites. Memsaab was new to me. Their flavours were absolutely mind-blowing. Their food is so delicious! So full of flavour! I ordered vegetable sides - aubergine curry (brinjal bhaji), okra curry (bindi bhaji), mixed veg curry and red lentil dal (tarka dal). The tarka dal was a little too runny - it was more like a soup. The rice was a little bland, but that made it the perfect foil for the curries. And the paratha was slightly too wet and under-baked. But these are minor quibbles. If you want to enjoy amazingly flavourful food, you've got to check out Memsaab.

Food tasted ok but portion sizes are really bad, I ordered 4 onion bhajis but received 2, I ordered quarter tandoori chicken and received a chicken leg and the lamb chops were the size of chicken wings, i wont be using this place again

Food was cold and items missing from the order. The rice was wrong too and i asked for a madras sauce with my shashlik which didn’t get delivered. Poppadoms were not cooked properly. Not happy!!

Food was very unflavourful, In particular the lamb Tika masala was ridiculously sweet with no other flavours coming through - sag paneer was also very bland. Food arrived around 40 minutes after the latest deliver time, we had to call the restaurant for an update - when called they let me know the food was still in the kitchen (despite the just eat app saying it has been delivered 15 mins ago) Over all, sub par food and a very late delivery - will not be ordering again.
