Really loved this spot, the food was amazing came as a group of 7 and we tried a number of dishes including the pork fillet, seabass, panang all would recommend! Lots of great flavour and the Tommy margaritas are yum!

The first time we visited this restaurant we had no booking and there was no table available, but the person we met came outside with us and took the effort to point us in the right direction for several other restaurants as we were new to the area. The second time we made a booking and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the service excellent. Nobody blinked an eye when I asked if we could move to the quieter room in the restaurant as our child has sensory differences and was finding it noisy. (The noise was just other diners and music and would not bother most people!) We were moved with no fuss. Highly recommend!

Fabulous eating place in Derry City centre. The food is excellent. Fresh, beautiful flavours, beautifully presented. Lovely attentive staff. Totally unpretentious and laid back. I highly recommend Mekong!

By far the best meal I've ever had. This was the first time I've been to Mekong, I've never been a big fan of spicy food.. and now I'm regretting letting that put me off. The flavor of the food produced was unbelievable. Could decide on a starter/small plate so we got 3 between the two of us and I'm so glad we did. Every one was a completly different experience. The main was by far the star, crying tiger beef. Spicy...... But could not stop eating it... Even the deserts were exceptional. The pistachio mirror cake was unreal. Cannot wait to return, maybe even just for the Lychee Spritz cocktail.

I would highly recommend this for trying something new in an evening out. Excellent quality of service and friendly staff 👏

Everything 10/10 in Mekong, the authentic Asian food and attentive and quick service makes the whole meal even better. Great range of cocktails (and mocktails for those who don't drink) food could be taken straight out of Thailand itself.

The food was delicious, the servers made sure everyone was ok for drinks often enough and made sure orders were perfect, I loved the wall art and atmosphere. I got the Pad Thai main. It was delicious and perfectly spiced. I'll be getting a starter next time as they looked just as good.

Expensive but the food is worth it. The restaurant is very loud though so not very agreeable to try and have a conversation. I wish they installed some noise absorbing material.

I dined in and ordered a meal. I was given the wrong order and when I informed the waitress of this she was nice and told me she'd go get it right, however, another waitress came back to argue with me that i gave her the wrong order when she triple checked with me when ordering. The food was okay. I didn't eat most of it and went home hungry but the shrimp/prawns were very good. Everything else was mid. The music was way too loud and could hear everything going on in the kitchen. Could barely hear my partner. Dont think ill be returning unless its for the king prawns. They were the best.

Had a lovely night at Mekong . Very accommodating to 1 fussy Italian, the rest of our table had no problem choosing from the menu . So tasty and great atmosphere - hope we don’t wait so long to return !

Superb, Thankfully we booked for last Tuesday night as we passed during the day. It was buzzing and no wonder. Amazing food great flavours and terrific service. Wish we had a Mekong in Dublin. My starter of leg of duck tartlet was divine. Main course of seabass and duck also.excellent.

Did the restaurant change the chef? Are we eating the same dishes? We booked this restaurant after reading many reviews (cancelled other restaurant booking) but were met with huge disappointment. What the hipe was about the food here? I am an Asian and my husband had been living in Vietnam and Tailand for years. We didn't expect authetic dishes, but delicious and flavorful food. Thst was all. The shaking beef was so tough that we couldn't possibly to chew it. When the waitress offered to take it back or tell the chef, my husband who doesn't like any confrontation or unpleasantness, said everything was fine and tries to swollen them down. But he said it was just way too tough. The chef didn't season the beef with salt either, so you have to rely on the sweet sauce. And the bone marrow fried rice was nothing special either. We love fried rice and often order them. We had a really nice one at a Thai restaurant at Killarney. Even worse the shaking beef is £30. My husband was shocked. We had an amazing lunch at Artis which cost £30 for 2 courses. They were well seasoned complicated innovative dishes with various ingredients and sauces. And it only cost £30 for a starter and a main course. The phad Thai noodles hasd no much flavor. The worst we have ever had. Except Chilli, don't the chef use other spices for the noodles (I don't eat chilli, so asked them not to add chilli.) I am not a good chef myself, but if I sauteed anything with oil, salt, soy sauces and garlic, all the dishes came out tasty. So it is hard for me to understand why the chef can cook a dish without much flavor. The mushroom spring roll has only one piece of mushrooms and didn't taste as good either. The only thing good is the fried tofu we added to our Phad Thai. It didn't need the sweet sauce either. But just a little salt or sauce. All in all, a very disappointing dinner. we regretted to have cancel Lemon Tree restaurant for this. The 3 servers were nice and sweet, but gave us a free desert to compensate the tough beef. But the entire dinner was bad. I am writing a honest review hoping the chef seasoning the food better and not serve tough tasteless beef. Not all the sauce has to be so sweet.

Pros - The food here is outstanding. My partner and I ordered the bao bun, chicken wings, Panang curry, pad Thai and tender stem broccoli. There wasn't a single thing that wasn't delicious. - The servers working there are very friendly, cheerful and check in regularly to make sure you're happy. We had our orders placed within minutes of sitting down and there were no delays getting our food. As soon as the starters were cleared, we were getting our mains. - The portions look tiny in photographs, but they were actually huge. We were both so stuffed, we couldn't even think about dessert. - The price was extremely reasonable considering all the food we ordered. It was cheaper than Mandarin Palace, Martha's Vineyard, etc, despite the food being the quality you'd expect in a fine dining expensive restaurant. - The decor is cute with movie posters for various anime and some beautiful murals on the wall. - Everything was clean and spotless. There wasn't a speck of dust to be seen anywhere, not even on the windowsills. Con - Getting a booking can be a challenge. We rang several times over the course of a couple weeks, but no one ever answered the phone. Their website directs your to message then on Facebook to book a table, but their FB redirects you to some booking site that requires you to sign up for an account and provide your credit card information ahead of time. - The restaurant is quite small and does get very noisy even it starts to fill up.

Excellent place to dine. Excellent value for money. The welcome was perfect and the place very pleasant, I recommend! 🙌

Very good food, really enjoyed the sharing plates we tried.. Especially the scallops and the chicken wings. Curry was flavourful aswell. Desserts were the highlight for me. We went right as they opened and service was a bit slow but that didnt take away from the experience at all.

Such wonderful food. I've been here 5 or 6 times since they opened and have had a big selection of different things each time. Generally speaking, all delicious. Even the stuff that didn't quite hit was interesting and clearly made by someone who knew what they were doing and had thought about the meal. A lovely restaurant. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. Not a bad word to say about any of it.

Can't recommend this place enough. Make sure to place a reservation however as it does get busy. The food was fantastic and the beer the brew there is great too.

The food was great and very affordable! I would totally recommend this to anyone who is travelling here. Their chicken is lit and pad thai is to die for. Additionally, their staff are very welcoming and kind. I recommend that you make a reservation beforehand.

Was the tastiest taste long time

Every single bite was heaven. Table of 12 and everyone's dish was equally gorgeous. Cocktails were also excellent.

Hands down one of the best places I've ever eaten in Northern Ireland! These guys really know what they're doing and deserve heaps of praise. Three of us went for dinner Saturday past and despite the power going out during our meal the front of house staff and kitchen staff excelled in delivering a perfect experience. We shared various dishes from each course. The flavours were balanced perfectly and each element of every dish cooked to perfection. The passion these guys have for food shines through in every morsel. The service was incredibly attentive without being intrusive or stuffy. A very warm and friendly bunch of folks. I should also mention that their cocktail game is bang on the money too! Far too easy too drink more than one should haha If you're reading this and considering eating here, just do it! You will not regret it! Thank you to everyone at Mekong, we will be seeing you again very soon! You guys rock!

Nothing screams cost of living crisis more than a single fairly bland bao bun for £6.50. Food was alright but the restaurant is doing well on the lack of Pan-Asian competition in the area. Bit overpriced for what you get and the decor was nothing special. Would recommend if you’ve never had SE Asian food before.

Best pad thai I ever had. The tofu with it was deliciously crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Can highly recommend :) staff was very friendly as well.

The food is top class and the staff are super friendly and helpful. A great place to go for great food. The menu isn't very big with maybe 5 or 6 mains to choose from, with one vegetarian option I think. The beef shank was perfectly cooked. I would defs eat here again.

What can I say we've been wanting to try mekong for a long just sad we left it so long. Really nice friendly vibe as you enter lovely staff. The selection on the menu is small which I prefer but it didn't need to be big as the food spoke for itself it was outstanding couldn't fault anything. The bao bun is out of this world would have been happy to eat those all night. As for the cocktails the east 8 hold up was my fave. We had to make a reservation as it can be very busy but I would highly recommend you try it just for something different. We shall be back.

Well-rated asian food restaurant with simple yet well-made dishes. Full of flavour and generous portions. May not necessarily be authentic but good nonetheless. Interesting atmosphere. Can be busy and noisy at times but that much is due to its popularity. The pad Thai is flavourful and the chicken, pork and prawns were tender. The fried pork rice roll leaves a little something to be desired tho. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. The decor can be somewhat referential but that's what the millennials are into these days anyway.
