Eskimo Coffee in Derry

Good food and good coffee. The place is open early i think the first coffee shop in town to open so its the perfect place to stop in after an early morning walk.

Awful coffee, awful eggs on toast (boiled egg on "toast"... meant to be poached with a runny yolk...) - the wheaten bread was sweet? Plastic cutlery? Not a pleasant experience at all and also the name of the cafe is a bit problematic now (Google why!)

Quaint place to go for sandwich, coffee and tray bakes! Been in before and usually opt for the Reuben 😊 nothing is ever too much trouble.

Lovely wee place had a lovely breakfast this morning wish I had found it before today. The pancakes were so yummy my sisters and I loved them. My daughter had the breakfast bap and she loved it was so glad that it was toasted and no butter

What a great little place. Seating for 36 people. I like the name and the Inuit theme. I like the Inuit people. I had a breakfast bap. It was super tasty fresh and well presented. I also had a fruit scone with butter and strawberry jam. 🤤 There coffee is delicious. (I had oat milk) So glad I came here. They open at 8 when many open at 9am. My stomach was my guide❣️(it never steers me wrong) SUPER NICE STAFF HERE!

Amazing café in a convenient location for me personally. The selection is brilliant with amazing coffee at reasonable prices. There is a good selection of cakes and traybakes for sit in or takeaway and a brilliant breakfast menu served until 12/noon. For someone who isn’t a big fan of getting sandwiches when I eat out, there was definitely many options for me here as you can customise your own toastie or panini, which you can get a combo offer with soup. On my last visit we ordered a Barbecue Wrap without the cheese ahaha and it was amazing. We also got a rice krispie traybake and a Latté, along with a Cajun Chicken Toastie which we customised ourselves. Definitely one of my new favourite cafés I’ve visited and would recommend to anyone! Great job! 10/10!

The Eskimo cafe offers amazing food and fast service. The dishes are prepared with care, using fresh ingredients, and the flavors are outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient. The highlight was the Dragon fruit and Mango cooler, which was incredibly refreshing. However, I would kindly suggest that the cafe considers changing its name, as "Eskimo" is widely recognized as a slur. By adopting a more inclusive name, the cafe can further enhance its reputation and attract a broader clientele.

A nice modern cafe with a Nordic twist. We liked their decor and fluffy pancakes for breakfast. If you like a filling breakfast or brunch this is the place to be in Derry!

Discovered this lovely coffee shop a few months ago and now go fairly regularly. Coffee great and delicious scones. Always clean and has some nice private booths. Staff halpful and pmeasant. Recommend 100%

Went in as we were walking past and smelt the food. We ordered the fry and the cinnamon pancakes (that are to die for) absolutely amazing food and the service was perfect very friendly staff and very welcoming. Prices are very fair for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend.

Called in here on my way home from the nearby health centre. Enjoyed the coffee served by friendly staff but the location is not good. The surrounding area is rather unkempt. Locals seemingly have little pride in their neighbourhood. Would not take friends there for this reason.

Stopped off for lunch. Food was good. The interior is well decorated, cosy and nice place to relax. Service was quick but found a male member of the staff was not very pleasent. Would return as lunch was enjoyable.

Lovely spot, soup and toasted sandwich always a good choice, they make a really good cappuccino and good veggie options aswell.

love this cafe, beautiful food, LOVE the cinnamon scones, great prices, amazing staff except 1 who had a bad attitude and a bit rude was actually very surprised, I thought it may have been a bad day but happened a second time. shauna and Michael are the main reason I return, otherwise my review would have been very different! Great wee pair they are, great relationship and seem to bounce off one another and keep eachother going! So highly recommend if anyone wants to see teamwork goals, visit these 2! I have said this before to shauna, she can literally do anything! Octopus comes to mind haha, struck lucky finding staff like this but both should get a day off, they always seem to be working ! :)

A very good place to go for a coffee, snack and a bit of chat.

Went in for lunch yesterday and have to say the wrap was delicious & LV the coffee. The staff are the best too, excellent customer service and their friendly nature made us all feel very welcome. I will be back and thank you! P.S. Had to write a review to thank you, the cupcakes & cheese cakes I brought back to the office went down a treat! Highly recommend the food and the experience !

Lovely relaxed cafe. They do a great breakfast with coffee and toast included up to noon.

Friendly staff, but the food was pretty bad. Freezing cold and very limited vegetarian food. Crowded and close proximity which isn’t good for a pandemic. Sorry, but won’t be back!

I had passed Eskimo a few times but never had time to pop in - well I will certainly be making the time in future after my first visit! Popped in for a coffee on my way up to the doctor just up the street. It was about 8.30am but as soon as I walking in I was greeting with such a warm welcoming atmosphere. There was a lovely fire going in the stove and quite a few people in there already. Service was fantastic, the lovely lady I recognised from a different coffee shop in town, i remembered how cheery she was there and she is even more so in Eskimo, a total credit to the place. I was only in for a coffee but a quick look at the menu and the baked goods on offer meant I am really looking forward to going back and trying something. The coffee itself was perfect, a good size, just right, not overly expensive. I sat in one of the cosy booths where there was a socket and points for phone charging. The decor is sort of eskimo themed but in a cosy and quirky way. I was sad to have to leave as you really could stay there all day. A great find in Great James Street.

You can not beat the food and service at Eskimo. After one visit, you’ll feel like you’ve been going there for years. So friendly. The food is incredible as well. That Reuben Sandwich is 👌🏻

I go here regularly and can't recommend it enough. I lived in Sydney for a while and wanted to find a coffee, and a place, that was like the cafes I went to when I was there. Eskimo hits the spot. One of a handful of places I get a coffee from and if pushed I'd say the best of them. Give it a try.

OMG... what can I say but, beautiful food (scones are fantastic), staff are really friendly & welcoming. Brought my family here one day & they loved it too. It’s my new favourite place to spend an hour out of the day. Plus bonus of WiFi & charging ports at each table. I icould recommend this place for sure!!

Quirky new cafe just opened in Great James Street..nice selection of hot and cold food, snacks, cakes, tray bakes, scones etc on offer - sit in or take out - the choice is yours! Very clean; lovely decor; check out the eskimo sayings on the booths.... charging points for laptop, telephone, toilet facilities, contactless payments; free wifi; water station. .. and best of all ... secure parking if you come by bicycle.... hang it on the wall.... just beside the door! Defo a must see, must visit cafe .. check it out - you wont be disappointed...

Great atmosphere and decor. Enjoyed the chocolate brownie and excellent coffee. A fair price range. Area to refill your water bottle. Take away option available.
