George's Bar in Derry

We really wanted to find a locals pub with live music. Didn’t fancy the touristy bars in the centre. This was one of the friendliest bars we found on our tour of Ireland. Great atmosphere and live music on the Friday night we visited. Couldn’t fault our night in here. Superb Guinness. Many thanks to the staff and locals for a memorable night.

Very well received, good atmosphere! I speak very poor English but a young man came to chat with me while drinking a few beers The best place to understand the charged history of this city between historical photos to the glory of the martyrs of Ireland and Gaelic football jersey or Celic Glasgow... No doubt we are in “free Derry”

Janet and I walked up from the Bogside and were delighted to find George’s! Excellent atmosphere, superb people! A couple of pints, refreshed, and we were on our way! Very nice people, and I say that again for emphasis. I fully recommend this pub. Huzzah!

George's Bar, one of the finest old school wee pubs left in Derry, The decor is wall to wall nostalgia and have a story to tell from floor to ceiling, The staff are are honestly some of the best in the business, and the locals are a very welcoming bunch indeed. Highly recommended.

Lovely evening spent in this local bar. They have some very interesting decorations. History is still being lived here.

Gran bar pequeño justo fuera de las paredes de Derry. La pasamos de maravilla y se portan muy bien, pero tuvieron que irse cuando entraron un par de chicas (creo que las mellizas) y fueron pilladas y tratando de cantar junto con las canciones en el sistema de música. ¡Piensa que uno de ellos dijo que solía cantar en solitario en los funerales! Dios ayude a los dolientes!

Estábamos cerca, así que una Guinness tranquila parecía estar en orden. En el momento en que entramos, nos envolvimos en la conversación de los otros clientes y recibimos una cálida bienvenida irlandesa. Pequeño, sin pretensiones, pero un lugar para visitar para conocer a los lugareños

dirigimos al bar de george el sábado 3 de marzo mientras yo y otros 8 visitando la ciudad para mis 65 tías tías si tocaba una canción de cumpleaños para ella y cantante en la noche cantaba también la canción de cumpleaños, un pequeño pub agradable ambiente y personal fueron increíbles, pasamos parte de nuestra tarde aquí y luego volvimos por la noche nuevamente para entretenernos y el personal del bar fue muy amable, incluso nos dio la mano y nos abrazaron cuando nos despedimos en Hometime. nos vemos la próxima vez que visitemos. muchas gracias zoe y las chicas

I visit Derry on a regular basis.. Georges Bar is a place I love to go ...People are very welcoming and nice... Seany who runs the bar is someone that personally greets the new visitors . They have music on most weekend s when I visited the guy called Michael Mc cafferty was playing Just Fantastic very wide range of songs .... Would recommend this homely place to anyone

Ahh georges. Never a dull night in here. Always great craic. Bar staff are more than friendly and always full of friendly locals. A must visit.

Un pub authentiquement républicain avec des affiches concernant la cause nationaliste, des souvenirs du conflit, des photos de clubs de football prisés par les Irlandais. Accueil chaleureux, simple et prompt à expliquer.

This bar is just outside the walls on Bishop's St without and it's one of the best bars I've been in. It caught my eye a few weeks back, so while in Derry again yesterday, I decided to call in. It's not a large place, but it's comfortable, and you could easily spend a few hours here. All the customers seemed to be locals, and I'd say that they are very loyal to their bar. Even though I didn't stay long, they made me feel very welcome, and only because I had other commitments, I would have stayed longer. On leaving, a few of the punters wished me good luck. I felt like I belonged.

Georges is the spot for a few quiet pints and the best jukebox in Derry! Friendly staff and decent enough locals.

Todo comenzó cuando entre en aquel bar. Su buen ambiente me dejò atonito. Comenzaron las cervezas y encontre ese ambiente del que tanto hablaban las guias turisticas. (Acercamiento a los lugareños) y eso que no tengo ni idea de hablar Ingles. Pero eso no me freno nunca en mi viaje. ""El pueblo de Derry aporto mucho en mi viaje"" Gracias por todo.
