Amazing restaurant, the food is top quality and all the staff are lovely and helpful.

Mei's is a really good Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet, especially for a decent price. It is slightly expensive for a person, but as long as you can eat what you have on your plate, it shouldn't be much of a problem. Just make sure not to spoil your appetite before! I last visited the place on my birthday (19th December 2024) and it was amazing! If you really want to have something where you can eat what you want, as well as have some cheeky dessert after, Mei's is the place for you

I took my partner and 2 children for dinner at meis, on this occasion it was chaos. We paid for our food and drink's before being led to a table only to be served plastic bottles of coke (these cost £4 each.. for plastic bottles!!) My little girl got pushed out the way by a fully grown man at the pudding section. The food wasn’t very hot and was very poor quality. We went home disappointed only for my partner and both children to spend the night being violently sick. The following day we contacted meis and was met by a very rude and abrupt lady on the phone telling us they was ‘to busy on the night that we came in’ and ‘get evidence that it was our food that made you poorly, you won’t’. Absolutely horrendous experience and will not be returning!

the food was dry. after getting home everyone who ate prawns was sick. It was very busy so unsure if they reheat the dishes to keep up the demand but the food taste rubbery and last time i went it was great. massive let down.

Meis restaurant in Taunton, Somerset is a useless place. A couple of days after my daughter's birthday, my family went out there. My daughter just turned 10 and we were there to celebrate but we were told we could not pay child's price for her. They insisted they were going to take adult price because of her height. Is it her fault that she's got the height she has? It was a bit of body shaming for the innocent girl. Why should a business deliberately do things that will shake a little girl's self esteem? She has said she will never go to Meis again. It was a horrible experience!

Excellent service, attentive, helpful and friendly staff. The food is wonderful with a good selection, from sushi to chips, rice to sweet and sower chicken and many more. There is a good choice of desserts as well. I recommend very highly. Usually no need to book but now I have told everyone how good it is, better safe than sorry book! Enjoy, I know you will.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. As far as buffets go there are definitely better, especially the new one Somerset buffet in Taunton. The food was mostly stuck together as over cooked and claggy. Chicken was very low quality, batter was gooey, rice was ok, chicken nuggets were ok but you can’t really mess them up, it got 3 stars as despite its underwhelming taste and quality it is still good value for money, like they say, you get what you pay for. Once was enough for me.

Mei’s always delivers with good atmosphere and food. Im never disappointed when I go here, most of the times are with work colleagues for a Christmas parties and been a few times with family we all enjoyed. Staff are always there to quickly get some fresh food in and clear our tables. Toilets are always clean.

Nice and hot food, good service and good atmosphere. 2 down sides are that there is not a lot of choice for puddings and I think it’s a little over priced

Simply a great place for a family get-together. Food never disappoints, the bar is a bonus as it's easy and quick to get drinks and the staff is tremendously friendly and attentive. We'll be back soon as it's just such a lovely place to go for an affordable meal out.

My wife and I enjoyed a delightful lunch at Mei's Buffet Restaurant. The food was fresh, warm, and flavorful, with an impressive variety of options, including chicken, beef, pork, steamed fish, and sushi. The dessert selection was equally enticing, featuring a range of ice cream flavours, bite-sized cakes, jellies, sweets, and a fantastic pancake/crepe station with delicious toppings like caramel, hazelnut, and chocolate sauces. We took our two grand sons for an evening meal. The food was fabulous, all freshly cooked. Even though it's a buffet style, fresh food was constantly being brought from the kitchen. All your favourite takeaway Chinese dishes plus there was a selection of sushi freshly made to choose from. Even the desserts were great. Usually, they seem to be an afterthought. But desserts here were as good as the mains.

Always visit Mei's for birthday's and anniversaries. The vast array of food is second to none. Great for the children too. So much choice for everyone

Food quality is poor, horrendously priced soft drinks. Restaurant clean and tidy. General staff very friendly and helpful. Although not the fault of the restaurant....but unpleasant having children running around and using the restaurant as a playground. Not going to rush back.

Excellent selection of fresh tasty dishes including desserts. Only slight issue was was asking for a jug of iced tap water and only getting a glass.

I’ve enjoyed a few solo trips to this venue. I’ve been seated quickly and it is value for money. There is a range of popular dishes to choose from and the usual choices of deserts you’d find at a large buffet. It can get very noisy when busy and lacks authentic ambient music. I’ve enjoyed most dishes.

We had a lovely evening here food was very good . Plenty of choice . But One of our guess was gluten free . The choices for them was very limited so there experience was not as good . Which was a shame

Myself and a mate went for the buffet last night,and to be fair I was abit apprehensive because of some of the reviews.however,I shouldn't have been,we were greeted at the door and shown to the bar to pay.we were then shown to our table and drinks brought over and left to picking our food from the well stocked and really nice hot food. All in all it was really good,would definately go again and take the kids.theres loads of deserts which they'd love.there is a charge on cards under £10,so as usual,cash is king!

Service was a little rude but the food for the price is great, just didn’t like how they were speaking to all of us, but yeah recommend going during the week as it’s cheaper.

We were visiting the area ,Tried to get in at 2.35 and was told it closed at 3pm not very welcoming. I always thought if the venue was open, you could go in until the stated closure time very disappointed.

We found this restaurant awful We had a table booked But when we got there was a queue out the door it was chaos I seen people walking straight in so I made my way through the queue A d approach the woman that was Standing taking names She came at me like steam roller When I said we had booked all she kept saying was You pay ,you pay,you pay, you pay I was dumb founded She was extremely rude The noise was horrendous And I Tried to say we were meeting other people here And she carried on shouting You pay ,you pay ,you pay if it hadn't been a birthday meal I would of walked out there and d then I made my way to the bar to pay and didn't hear what the lady said so I put my card in the machine stupidly thinking it was OK only to find that when I sat down I had been over charged But to give the lady on the desk benefit of the don't she refunded me But cheeky so and so offered me a voucher to come back rather than refund my card I said no I want the money back And she didn't argue with it When I got to the table where my friends were The first woman followed me over and started telling us to hurry up and eat I want table Well how I didn't blow a fuse is a miracle When we did get food it was warm not hot and it was pretty tasteless And the drinks were warm we will never return The woman at the desk I think was the manager and she really needs some training on people management Awful place

First time, took the missus out for dinner. Glad we went there, so much choice, ate too much. Too much sushi, and Peking duck wraps. Way too much dim sum and Chinese chicken and sweet corn soup. Banana fritters and chocolate gatue, ice cream and so much more. Really friendly and professional staff, very well organized, food never ran out. We'll go back, well done Mei .

The food is good but the only annoying thing is that if your 150cm you are charged as a adult even if your not one, you could be 10 and be 150cm but they would still charge u as a adult

Never had a bad experience here, and we come roughly twice a year. Super crazy busy today as it was fathers day. Place was so organised and all food kept topped up and fresh 😋

It's a Chinese buffet so is busy but we got seats when we reached, ofcourse we had reserved ahead of time. The dishes are either very good or not at all. There is no middle ground. All the prawn 🦐 dishes were yum as were the duck 🦆 pancakes.

Arrived at 12 food was lovely and fresh. Good variety of food, all you can eat so my 18 year old was happy. Nice and clean. 3 adults cost £50 pound with drinks.

Went with my partner and his parents for a meal, only to come back with a plate of tasteless and dry food, my partner had to raise concern to a member of staff as his chicken was completely raw in the middle. They brushed us off at first but then got someone else to look at it and it was confirmed raw. Whether the tray was removed we were not sure but the whole buffet was poor quality of food apart from the noodles. We were extremely put off by the service given to us and the quality of food. Me and my partner both have fallen unwell with upset stomachs and will not be returning to this restaurant. PLEASE AVOID.

Food good, unfortunately table behind us were having a very loud face time chat... shouting rather than talking, phone chats are very tinny sounding, very annoying, asked to move tables which to be fair they did with no fuss,then that same lady finished her chat and was playing some kind of music even though restaurant was playing music.nothing was said to her.when we moved tables we then had2 of their workers sit behind us and do the same thing... phones should be banned... trying having a conversatuon with the people who you are sat with. Some diners have no respect for others, lady sat near us was clearly annoyed by it as well.

Went for a 4 seater meal tonight at 5pm, table 33a. Got the first round of plates back to the table and as we were tucking in I cut the satay chicken open to find it completely raw inside. Pointing this out to a member of waiting staff who then confusing asked "really?" He then had to go to a member of bar staff, who told him to speak with the manager. The manager then came over to the table and inspected the 2 pieces of chicken on a napkin at the table and confirmed them to be raw, as a result they went back to the kitchen, I'm unable to confirm if the tray was removed from the buffet but should have been due to cross contamination. We were given a free round of drinks (soft) but were completely put off by the rest of the food after (tastless) and staff (miserable looking) and atmosphere (dull and gloomy.) Since we have gotten home two of our party- my partner and myself and been ill. Will never be going back as a result of this experience and advise others to avoid, avoid, avoid at all costs. For the prices this buffet charges you can get high quality meals in Taunton. *Edit after a very uneasy nights sleep and reading other review about raw dishes and cross contamination likes bugs I have taken it upon myself so report this place to the food standards agency as their is not possible way this place can have its 5 rating from last year.

Having to change my review of this place unfortunately. Really liked coming here for birthday treats and on the odd occasion due to how good the food is for the money but unfortunately last night, me and my partner noticed the quality of the food wasn’t as good as it used to be and after returning home both have come down with food poisoning. I believe it was the crispy beef as even after they had just restocked the tray it was almost stone cold and couldn’t really see anything else being the issue. Usually wait times are minimal and food is really good but really unfortunate that we’ve had to let one of our go to places due to something like this. Would advise you avoid for a while until they sort something out.

I came here for lunch yesterday against my better judgment to see if it had improved since the last time I visited and wasn’t shocked to see it had not! A few scraps of dried out meat in some of the containers but most of them were pretty much empty! The soup was cold and the noodles were burnt (didn’t even know that was possible) shouldn’t have learnt my lesson last time! On another note I was in the dentist behind the lady that owns this place last week listening to her inform the receptionist that she is in receipt of tax credits and benefits so she doesn’t pay for her NHS dental treatment - which was interesting as she was wearing a mulberry dress and her son had a private school uniform on. After this they left in a brand new Range Rover jeep…. Interesting! The amount you receive from benefits must have seriously went up!

Very tasty, very impressive Chinese buffet selection at Mei's! Excellent value for money which includes pancakes, sushi and desserts and sweets. I always feel annoyed to be stuffed as I want to try it all! 😄 They are extremely good with all things covid related, everyone is spaced out and everywhere is clean and sanitised. Drinks are £3 and under. We got 4 soft drinks and 2 kids drinks for under £13. The whole lunch for 6 of us was less than £70. (£55 for all-you-can-eat food) I love it there, we go on every birthday of mine and our anniversary.

Absolutely love this place. The food is always hot and fresh, the staff are very friendly. Apart from the sour faced lady, whom I can only assume is the owner. I mean, i know she is busy, but a smile wouldn't go a miss. And maybe dont shout at the staff in front of customers? Everything else is perfect. Definitely recommend for a good Chinese meal with loads of choice!

I'm not normally an "Eat all you want " kinda guy tbh... although I've had some experiences in the past & really not that impressed... this one though I have to give 10 out of 10 for.. the food was fantastic, warm, hot, moist, full of flavour and really incredibly tasty. I wasn't a piggy, thought it was incredible value at £20 per head and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.. Well done to all the staff it is incredibly well run & the toilets were dining table standard... cannot fault the place...

Great place to eat food is tasty with lots of choice. Disappointed that on arriving I was charged adult price for my granddaughter who was 10 as they said she was tall, but then charged £4 for my great granddaughter because she was 13 months old and over 1. When asked if their policy was age or height I got no reply.

Good selection of savoury and pudding. Sushi bar included so you can easily get your moneys worth with how little you actually pay.

Absolutely disgusting food. Chicken was dry, battered squid was flavourless. And when we complained to the manager she started shouting at me in the restaurant and threatended to call the police as she couldn't accept criticism that her food is dry and tastless. In all my life I have never been shouted at by complaining because the standard was well below average. All the staff where untrained to the complaint procedure and looked to young to be serving alcohol. All in all you get better customer service at McDonald's and at least if you complain about poor standards then you don't have a child shouting at you in another language

Can be very busy place so can be hard to hear others, but good been great anytime been, always topped up. Great place!
