Ordered ahead for gluten free. Food was ready, clearly labelled and staff were knowledgeable about gf. Husband and son said the gf batter was the best they'd had. Lots of choice for gluten free too which was so nice to see. Portions were huge, it comes to something when three teenage lads say they could go for a kids meal next time! We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately a huge case of quantity over quality. The service was good, efficient, chatty, friendly, but when we got the chips home they were among the worst we've ever had. A good portion, but soggy, stuck together, seemed as if they'd been sitting around for a long time. Really didn't taste good. Tasted old & greasy. A real shame.

Had gluten free fish and chips wow. Hard to get gluten free when u trust it to eat it without getting ill. Even offered gluten free salt and vinegar... How many non coeliacs would know that vinegar can have wheat in it!!! Excellent cod and chips as well. l round will be back.

We were recommended this chip shop by a friend. Fish and chips, curry sauce all gluten free. Was absolutely lovely. Lots of gluten free choices. Will definitely we back.

Use Sea Bass a lot but this afternoons food was the worst we’ve ever had. It was like it had all been warmed up from lunchtime. Money Not well spent!!! Very disappointed…

Good food but expensive for what you get

The battered sausages were excellent. Only stopped for a snack and my mother and I were both impressed. Price was on the upper end of what we're used to but we're not local.

Best chippy in town....after 7 years I.ve never had a complaint...the young lad serving is always smiling and pleasant as is the woman. Fish and burgers piping hot...Milk shakes to die for. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

best place to go, friendly staff, good portion sizes, very helpful, i came to collect my order a little early and cameron had it all prepared and handed it over to me so i could go home and enjoy my takeaway! see him all the time in there and he’s always working hard and always so happy and friendly, would definitely recommend it’s lovely!!!

Stopped here when we were travelling down to Cornwall. 5 mins off the M5, plenty of parking outside and more importantly the food is amazing! Highly recommend the cod bites if you don’t want a huge piece of fish. We had 4 pieces between 2 of us which was plenty.

Food is of a reasonable standard. Chips were bitty. £2.80 for the size portion did not represent good value and they charged for a plastic bag.

Food is ok, service is good. Disappointed with the refusal of filling my water bottle whilst cycle touring, on one of the warmest days of the year so far. I had run out of water and thought the purchase of fish, chips and can of drink would warrant a worthy enough purchase to refill my depleted water bottle. The person serving said “sorry, we are not allowed, I feel bad for saying it but no we can’t”. Not even to the offer to purchase a bottle of water. First time I’ve been refused such a basic request. Wish I’d not asked for salt on my chips now!

Nice little place, chips are good, or at least my kids think so, I also find portion sizes vary dramatically depending who's working, which is fine by me, my kids though are left disappointed sometimes 🤣but all in all its good and reasonably priced for sure.

A great fish and chip shop handily just off the M5 in Taunton. Great food and superb staff. There is a big park opposite as well, perfect for a fish n chips supper on the way home.

Im do disappointed to say this as i love their milkshake drinks however recently i haven't had good experiences as before when i went with my partner he found hair in his burger and today after going there again i am now sat in the bathroom feeling really sick and diarriah after eating out of date cheese. I had noticed an odd taste but then was pointed out it may be out of date and to wait for the results of it .. and here we are

What's the point in ordering and paying online then when you get there you have to join a queue!! The whole idea is for it to be ready at the time they give and just pick up and go! I might as well of just gone in as normal, we had to wait for the fish to cook and the chips were cold. When we asked why order online if its not ready when you arrive we were told they don't have the staff to manage that side! No apology or offer of a part refund 🤔 what is the bloody point 🤔

As always the Sea Bass is great. Great food at a reasonable price. I visit at least once every week or so and have never been disappointed. Their gluten free menu is very good.

Very positive experience. At the moment of writing this review, it's my favourite take away in Taunton (not that many on the list so far). The food was amazing! I had a double chicken burger (🐔🐔🍔) with chips and a bottle of Fanta. All this for £7.50. We ordered online for collection and when my driver got to the place, all was ready and we ended up eating food which was still very hot! Definitely recommend!

I visited this fish & chip shop whilst staying locally & ordered haddock & chips from the stern young lady on the till, who seemed very unfriendly towards me as she told me I would have to wait as the fish needs to be cooked, I was fine with that & prefer freshly cooked food anyway, so I sat down & looked at their menu on the wall which is very extensive including a wide range of delicious sounding burgers, fried chicken, kebabs as well as the standard chip shop items, including gluten free batter, I also saw several lunchtime good meal deals what sounded very reasonable in price. Several people came in and made their orders which were dealt with instantly, which is great news to me as some chip shops make you wait in line even if your order is just for chips which is a rediculous system, sadly I kept hearing the chips being scrapped & scrapped with no fresh ones being cooked, i thought I would be lucky but no, when I heard my haddock was ready I got every last chip bit that was inside the unit, but the fish that went on top looked large & tasty, so I couldn't wait to get back to the car & start eating rather than wait to go back to my hotel room & risk it getting stuck to the paper, even though I chose not to have any salt & vinegar put on. There was a lot of oil when I opened the package with a strange aroma in the air,, my fish was broken on top as the batter wasn't crispy except at one end, the soggy underneath just resembled thick rubbery & very greasy jelly, not nice as it just all broke apart, but neither were the chips as most of them were just small hard cold bits, very disappointing for the price paid.

Visiting whilst on holiday. The portions are massive! The child's fish and chips is enough for anyone. However... I ordered online to collect at 5:35. When I arrived, it was waiting for me, which I wa impressed with. When I got the food home, it was like warm. The batter on the fish was soggy. The fish tasted 'bleachy' and my children wouldn't eat it (when they normally love fish and chips!) I ordered roe and it was obvious tinned roe!! I expected fresh roe, but I stead, I had this tinny, processed muck! Overall, a tea-time disaster!! I won't be visiting here again in a hurry!
