Medusa in Lancaster

One of the best restaurants in Lancaster, honestly, worth a try. The employees are distinguished by their ethics, sophistication and good behavior. The food is delicious. I recommend trying it

Ordered at 19.55, still was saying ‘preparing’ at 22.15. No option on Just Eat to check where the order was, ended up getting the number off google & ringing the restaurant, they lied & said the order had tried to be delivered and we didn’t answer the door, we have proof on our camera that no one came to the house. They ended up delivering our order 15 mins later but the food was stone cold like it had been sat on the side for hours, normally the food is good but wouldn’t recommend after tonight

Wont be ordering anything from just eat or Medusa again. Was given the wrong order and Medusa are not interested in whst Just eat do !! They couldnt care less about the company they use to deliver THEIR Food. Not their problem apparently!!

We were here last week looking for somewhere to have lunch. The menu in the window looked interesting so we went in. So glad we did because the food was delicious. We shared each other's prawn and lamb dishes and the accompanying rice and salad were great too. I should have taken photos of the empty plates because we didn't even leave a grain of rice behind!

Really nice food. You need to wait about 15-20 min., but they are cooking straight away. The food not heated up, but cooked while you are waiting. Definitely recommend.

Amazing, oryginal and perfectly prepared food. Delicious hot bread baked in the restaurant. Big portions for resonable proces. Lots of interesting dishes in menu to chose. Strongly recommend Medusa!

This was suppose to be a Turkish restaurant, the place is nice, the waitress is extremely good and helpful, the food is one of the worst in quality of any Turkish restaurant I have been to, the meat is dry, they use burgul not rice, they serve cheap tortilla bread rather than freshly baked or even locally baked Turkish bread.. I did feel a bit sick after having my meal, never again

Large portions of delicious food at fair prices. Very relaxing music and atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. Great place for lunch.

I visited this restaurant on the Tuesday. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was fantastic and authentic. A real find, will be visiting again in the future. Highly recommended!

Came here last for a meal after walking past this place lots of times... So so glad we chose to come... The food was Amazing!!! We had the Borek and calamari for starters then both had kebabs.... One lamb and one chicken and a side of fries... The meat was perfect and tender the accompaniments were delicious and everything was hot.... Service was good... They Brought our drinks quickly... The only down side for me was that we were sat in between 2 rather larger groups of people one of which were quite drunk and loud.... Not the resteraunts fault but it would have been nice for them to have realised they had sat a couple in between 2 large groups... Anyway that aside we would DEFINITELY go back and I'll be telling all my family and friends about it too... Oh and before I forget all that food... A soft drink and 2 large glasses of savignon blanc was just £61....fantastic value for Amazing food... 👏 😋

Used to be a lot better, its starting to show its age. It felt cold and the upstairs area, where the toilets are, was dark and freezing. Prices have shot up in the last year or so. Food is exactly the same and still good.

Absolutely delicious - all of the food was so good, even the chips. Sauces had lovely flavour. The delivery was so quick and the food arrived hot. They even gave me free rice and salad, which was a nice bonus! Will definitely order again in the future.

Genuinely shocked at all the good reviews, couple who got their food before us left without eating any. Ours was dry, bland with curled up, stale salad. Staff didn’t seem phased that both tables left all their food.

The flavour was nice but the food was wayyyy to salty!

My partner and I have been to Medusa multiple times for Lunch and a few times for Dinner. The newly introduced menu brings together a wide variety of affordable, delicious and filling dishes. Most of them come with a side of bulgur rice, chips, bread or salad. Minutes after you order a Lamb Kofta or a Lamb sizzler, you’ll be brought a full plate packed with so many different flavours, you’ll want to order the entire menu just to find out how good it can get. Besides 10/10 for food, the staff is always very kind and try to accommodate any need. You need them to tone down the spice on a dish? Done. You want an extra piece of bread with your soup? Done. I organised a 12 person birthday booking at medusa, and all I needed to do was nod at the staff after everyone finished dining, for a show of drums candles and cakes to appear! For no extra charge! Safe to say the birthdayee loved it! Besides their birthday thing, I have to give a special thank you to Layla. She has been the face of the restaurant for me and my partner. She does an amazing job of customer service and ensuring our dining experience is always 10/10. Her adding a starter to my partners meal free of charge because she was torn between two, or her rounding up the receipt to a better price for us, or giving us a taste of a dessert here and a taste of another starter there means a lot. That’s what good customer service looks like, and it certainly brings us back!

Excellent food, really good quality and good portion. The only reason why this review is 4 star is because it was a little slow. But other than that, really friendly staff. I will definitely come back :)

We were in City break in Lancaster and decided to have a Turkish food. The menu was full of so many delicious dishes - you can get lost of reading. In general, I really enjoyed my drink - Efes beer 🍺.

I've been meaning to visit for a while and finally got the opportunity when our work christmas meal was booked here. The food is delicious, and I've messaged them to book for my family tomorrow 😋

I went for lunch with a group of friends. Staff were helpful and friendly. Most of us chose from the two course lunch menu. Interesting food, well presented. Good value. Portion sizes appropriate for lunch. There is plenty of space downstairs and a well equipped disabled WC on the ground floor, which made it a good meeting place for our group, one in a wheelchair and several with mobility issues.

I just visited Lancaster for the first time and first time at Medusa the food was brilliant and staff was amazing absolutely recommend this place and will be back soon Thank you

The food was tasty but rather expensive. The waitress, however, seemed rather bothered to do her job, and did not keep an eye on our table at all, we had to go physically to the bar to order more drinks after waiting around for about 10 minutes. I would not go again.

We've decided FIRST TIME to have a special meal in Medusa before going to the Grand Theatre to see Roy Chubby Brown. The service was good and attentive but everything fell down with the food. I should have known when I saw the starter. But the main wouldn't be much better. In fact ,my partner couldn't eat at all. What is the waste £65 !!!! :-(

Ordered their seafood platter and meaty pizza (chicken, pepperoni, lamb) along with sides, and was really impressed. This was a home delivery, food arrived in about 40 minutes, pizza was just divine, garlic bread wonderfully fluffy, and the seafood was according to my partner, delicious. We'll be making a booking soon for an actual meal in the restaurant. But yes, seriously tasty food at reasonable prices!

Received a very unexpected phone call today from Medusa. There was an issue with our recent takeaway order and they phoned to apologise and to say that they would be sending some complimentary food. As you can see from the photos, this looked and tasted delicious. Really appreciate the after care service. Thank you!

Wish I could post a picture. Ordered calamari and received 4 of the smallest pieces possible. I would be embarrassed to serve this. Also one small rice and salad for 2 people. No bread with the hummus. Just as well we ordered extra bread.Shame because the food was tasty.

Initially they missed our booking,then they could fit us in upstairs(no one else upstairs) The food was ok,but I find expensive for the quantity.

I used to love comingt to Medusa but now their staff doesn’t speak English and it’s really hard to order our meals. My daughter has allergies and our group spent a good few min trying to ask a question to a red haired young waitress that speaks very little English. We think she was a waitress as she wasn’t wearing the usual uniform and was just eating behind the bar. When we got our food, it came wrong but we didn’t even complain because we knew she wouldn’t understand. The service used to be very good, the waitress were lovely and polite, but now it’s hard to order anything and as a loyal customer of Medusa for many years, I should say that you should hire front house staff that actually speaks English. We had a party for 15 booked but I’ll be cancelling it.

We have walked past the restaurant for a long time and ignored it. We decided to visit and so glad we did. They have a good offer if you eat all day and early evenings. The staff where fabulous, the food even better. We had prawns and moussaka, What a pity there where not more customers.

The whole experience was brilliant. We have the early bird menu which was £14.95 for two course. Wow! The mezze sharer was incredible, the dips were beautiful, and to top it off the bread was homemade. The mains were flavourful and presented beautifully. The house wine on the offer was £13.50 and was a lovely Pinot Grigio. Value for money, I really don't think you will find better in Lancaster! Shoutout to the FoH staff as well, professional, kind and courteous. Thank you guys!

Was quite disappointed overall. Went for a Saturday night and it wasn't full. There were two fabulous singers, singing/playing live, but they were far too loud so we couldn't enjoy a conversation whilst eating. This was a real shame. The starters were good (although expensive for 4 prawns in a sauce) and the bread gorgeous. Let down by two bland main dishes, with what tasted like dry packet rice and a limp little chopped 'salad'. A different experience from when it first opened many years ago. The staff were lovely though.

The food was lovely but the Lamb Tandir was tiny! There was about 8 pieces of lamb, the halves of potato and one piece of carrot (about an inch long) - not much for £11.50! The Iskender kebab was nice and there was a good size portion. The Karniyarik was really good and came with Bulgar wheat and salad - good size portion.

The food is amazing from here, the waitresses are great and helpful.

Ordered teriyaki chicken got something in white cream sauce I questioned if it was teriyaki chicken they said it was don't think so worst meal ever.

Went for the early bird . Before 7 30 Monday to Thursday . 14 pounds or thereabouts for 2 course . Asked for them to come together starters and main , so we could share them all 😇😎🤷‍♀️. So we could try them all ! Got spinach and feta parcels and garlic mushrooms for starters ! Both cooked really well and came out hot !! For mains chicken and mushrooms in a creamy garlic sauce ( looked very much like the mushrooms ) and lamb meatballs in a tomato sauce , both served with bulgar rice and salad and riata ! Served hot ! And all looked very tasty 😋

Had a lovely lunch here. Only had the lentil soup but it came with freshly made bread. The £6 even included a coffee/tea or soft drink. Very tasty and very friendly helpful staff, highly recommended.

The only good thing is that it arrived on time. The order have been of an amount of £80 and was supposed to be for 6 people, each individual chose a main for themselves, but it was not even enough for a child! Worst value for money ever seen on a restaurant. Even the salad was just for a child enough. Worst portions size, worst value for money.

This was the worst lunch I have ever had. The chicken dish with rice was so bland. No thought or effort went in to it AT ALL. absolutely no flavour. It took ages for our drinks to arrive whilst the girls at the bar chatted. My grandma ordered a dish that came with a cold egg, salad that was brown and drenched in hummus, this was presented very small and looked just thrown together. Very disappointed. No check backs on the table were made either. We will never return.

I'm tired of paying a fortune for pasta and microwaved dishes. This is really a tough one as the food was amazing, full of flavours and freshly prepared so top marks but let downs: Bar person did not know how to make cocktails. Empty plates not cleared when main course arrived and after finishing the meal. Considering the restaurant was very quiet I expected a better service!

This is very unfortunate but off late the experience (couple of instances in 2 weeks) has been falling down. The staff does not appropriately understand orders and it seems to be under staffed. I hope they improve their staff training because the food is great.

The food was really nice I had Halloumi for starters With creamy chicken in sauce and rice they had a good selection of drinks . Really nice atmosphere. They had loads off offers on for in the week and weekend my was 16 pounds for 2 courses the cocktails was a bit pricey at £9.99 but still nice beers where and £6 a pint
