Mediterranean Cafe in Manchester

Wow. What a gaff, usually not in Whalley Range. But this trip was well worth it. I’d heard about the Mediterranean cafe from a friend of a friend who said how good it was. From the service to the food, to the friendliness of the staff. I felt like this was my local cafe! To top it off the food was incredible, and the salad was to die for. I’ve never been to the Med, but I’m sure this is as close as you can get. I got a 3 egg omelette with cheese onions and peppers, with a healthy portion of chips (with great seasoning) and a super colourful salad. My friend got a full English, which looked very tasty. Condiments on all tables with plenty of cutlery and napkins. Plenty of seating across the board. Do remember that this is a CASH ONLY establishment. Thankfully there is a cash machine across the road in Co-op to use free of charge #CashIsKing

Love my almost weekly visits here. Always get a chicken shawarma and it is divine. The service and the friendliness of all who work there is the absolute best. Also, today I came home with the cheesecake and can confirm it is in fact the best :-)

Really lovely reliable little local cafe. Veggie breakfast available, also tasty falafel and hummous etc. It's cash only but there is a cash machine in Coop over the road. Seating outside and inside and there are clean customer toilets if you ask. Staff are really friendly and you can tell that most of the customers are regulars who live locally. Pleased to have this on my doorstep.

I went into the cafe because I got locked outside my house- they gave me a tea for free and said not to worry about payment. The tea was amazing as were the owners/staff! Very friendly and welcoming. When I’m next in Wally Range I will be coming back. Looking at the food others had- the portions were generous and great quality!

The food was good, the service was good and the price was reasonable. The two big downsides are that they only accept cash which meant we weren’t able to order as much as we wanted to since not everyone in our party had cash since it’s 2024. The other negative is it seems like most people at the cafe were smoking so both inside and outside there was a strong cigarette smell.

The best breakfast in whalley range by far. Quick service, friendly, warm and welcoming from Serpil. The veggie breakfast and Mediterranean specials are my favourite and they give great sized portions with fresh ingredients. Can't recommend highly enough!!

Don’t be put off if the café looks closed, or a bit run down – which it is. I enjoyed the Mediterranean breakfast with Turkish sausage, halloumi, eggs, toast, cucumber and olives. Coffee good too. covered space to sit outside. Seems to be a destination for local young professionals and has nice a atmosphere when busy. Cash only.

Such a nice, cute little cafe. Open early hours and is very convenient. They have a variety of options on the menu which is great. This will be my go to on a Saturday morning.

Food is still really great, had the flaffel and pitta all good as was everything that came with it. Roast potatoes, salad, pickled red cabbage and all the other bits I can't remember. All the pittas are amazing. A full meal anyway for under £7-9. We were lucky, got a seat, there aren't a great many of those in here. Coffee good too, and the breakfasts but the pittas are too good to have tried anything else.

The most incredible little cafe in Whalley range, the staff are incredibly kind and accommodating and make the cafe such a warm and kind place! The food is fresh and delicious and the portion sizes are amazing for the price! I recommend anyone to come here you won’t regret it!

This has been local to me for many years. Such a friendly group and the food is great. Well worth a visit if passing. Or even if not. Could be bigger, as it would be more popular.

Here’s my favourite place in Manchester. They have delicious Kurdish/ Kurdistan food, nice coffee, tea etc. people who lives around here they like to hangout here. Mediterranean cafe is like a community center in the same time :) ❤️

My favourite cafe in Manchester

I have only given four stars as the prices are a touch on the hefty side and they don't take card. Plenty of parking outside and a nice terrace area to sit if the weather is nice. The staff who I presume are the owners and very friendly. Overall, a nice chilled / trendy vibe and a step up from a greasy spoon.

Discovered this gem recently, delish food, great atmosphere, staff have always been friendly and I struggle with pronunciation of certain foods and they have always been polite and know what I'm trying to order. Going over later for some wrap and chips. If you have not yet tried this place. Give it a go. You will not be disappointed!

What's not to love about a Mediterranean cafe where the staff put a lady's cat (in it's basket) onto a chair so he can get a view out of the window 💗. Delicious coffee and a satisfying veggie breakfast. A warm welcome awaits at this café evidently and deservedly loved by locals. FYI; it is cash only but there's a free cash point in the Co-op opposite.

It's obviously popular and has an honest community feel. The prices are very good too. The coffee is fine but the standard of cakes needs thinking about in my opinion - if you're used to Starbucks or Costa you'll notice the difference - they don't really compare unfortunately, which is a shame as some really decent homemaking would blow those out of the water. Didn't have any savoury food so will not talk about that here until I've had a chance to go back and try!

Best baba ganoush and tzatziki I’ve had served with lightly spiced potatoes, dill flavoured couscous, pickles, salad and pitta. Loved the crispy baked aubergine too! Such a filling rainbow brunch 😊👌🏽 Friendly service and atmosphere, reasonably priced and plenty of clean seating indoors and outdoors (high chair available so family friendly too)! I washed my food down with freshly squeezed orange juice which was spot on, not too sweet or bitter.

If I'm working in South Manchester around lunchtime then this is where I eat, every single time. The wraps and salads are the most delicious anywhere outside the Eastern Mediterranean. Fresh, healthy, clean tasty food cooked right in front of you, served with smiles and friendly chat. I absolutely love it and will add a photo next time I'm there which won't be too long at all.

Had the Houmous and pitta with salad. Wasn't expecting this quantity and variety of salad and delicious bits!. Outstanding for £6 and the coffee was great too. Very good

Very good workers cafe. Recommend egg and Turkish sausage barms with strong coffee. I don't usually have time for anything else so I'm not doing their Mediterranean menu justice but this place is a gem.

Could not recommend highly enough. First impression was friendly and cheap… then the food arrived. Incredible flavour, and a huge serving. We will DEFINITELY be returning in future!

Went here for a quick lunch. Sat outside. Schwarma superb and excellent value at £6.80. Portions massive. Chips superb. Dughter had Baba ganoush which again waqs all good. No frills but great quality. Will deffo return. Breakfasts looked good too.

This place is so friendly and lots of care is taken in the preparation and presentation of every dish, even when it's in a takeaway box. Favourite dish is the toasted hummus and halloumi pitta with ALL of the sides; leaves you grazing until it's all gone. It's wonderful to see the way the staff care for, and accommodate, their elderly and disabled customers too. Award winning service in my eyes - please don't ever change! Shocked to see that a person 4-starred their review because the coffee was too hot - that's hilarious

Great stop for breakfast, staff were polite and very friendly. Outdoor seating is available and service is pretty quick, plus the food is excellent value for money. Will definitely be visiting again!

From the moment you arrive at the cozy Mediterranean Cafe in Whalley Range you are greeted with a unique, friendly service the likes of which are unmatched in the rest of the cities eateries by far. The food is moderately priced, big portions, freshly made and delicious. I am yet to come across a cafe that can compare.

In the area for breakfast and followed Trip Advisor to find a suitable venue. Friendly staff greeted me and I ordered a “Mediterranean Breakfast” and a Flat White. The coffee tasted of coffee, which is unexpected and welcome. The breakfast featured fried strips of Turkish sausage, toasted Holloumi cheese, poached eggs, plus spiced grilled tomatoes, cucumber and garlic olives. A Feast which was the right size for a healthy meal. If I’m in the area again I will be back. Excellent

Loved this place. Sat outside early on a sunny morning and enjoyed a Turkish and an English breakfast with lovely coffee. Staff so nice and obviously very popular, as regulars came and went. Will go again definitely.

Had a halloumni pitta bread plus lots of things around , my plate was colorful and the hummus was very tasty , a pleasure for my eyes and my stomach ! Definitely gonna come back

This is just a tiny four table cafe. The English breakfast is good, but the Mediterranean food is amazing-the babaghanoush is the best I've ever had, sweet , creamy and rich, and the salad and such like are all fresh and delicious and there are so many they fill the plate. Think i got lebanese type potatoes, couscous, gherkin, yoghurt, red cabbage, salad with a deep rich dressing, fried aubergine, pitta...might have missed something. Staff are really friendly and attentive and its very cheap indeed. Recommended.
