I am wondering if this is my McGlynn Family that owned it im to late to find out now looked like a nice place.

Hope it reopens. Nowhere else like it.

Good old fashioned Irish boozer away from the main tourist catchment around kings x.

This is a nice pub visited by locals, friendly atmosphere. The description could use an update as, apparently, they stopped serving food during the COVID crisis and haven't restarted their kitchen since, so only drinks available there. Also, when I visited, they accepted only payment by cash (temporarily so, I think).

🚇Kings Cross St Pancras 🍺 £5.80 Guinness ❤️ One of London’s finest Irish pubs. . Tucked away in the backstreets of Kings Cross and away from tourists and travellers fresh off the train is McGlynn’s Free House. The nearest Tube is Kings Cross St Pancras which is just a few minutes walk away. . This pub was built in 1851 and started life as The Duke of Wellington. The pub is Grade II listed and is surrounded by characterful Victorian buildings on cobbled streets, this makes this area one of the most atmospheric parts of Kings Cross. . The decor here is oldschool traditional and features trinkets and items that nod to Ireland’s past. This one bar pub is set out in an “L” shape and has a cosy feel to it. The walls are painted cream and have all manner of bric-a-brac hanging from them including a beautiful wooden clock bearing the pubs name. There is plenty of seating which is a mixture of red leather banquettes, pews and low level tables and chairs. The hallmark of any proper old school boozer is a red carpet, McGlynn’s didn’t disappoint. One observation is that this pub is immaculately clean. . The beer line up was good and included two cask ales, normally there are three available. No visit to an Irish pub would be complete without trying the Guinness. We all really enjoyed our pints, one of the best I’ve had for some time, and reasonably priced. The pub has served food in the past but isn’t serving food at present. . We arrived just after 6pm on a Saturday evening. As you walk in you immediately feel the friendly vibe that is ever present here. The pub was busy with a mix of locals, a few travellers and those in the know. We were served by a very welcoming member of staff who served us in no time at all. I was with my Brother and Nephew who were visiting McGlynn’s for the first time, they absolutely loved everything about the pub. . @mcglynnskingscross is one of the best Irish pubs in London. The welcome, the atmosphere, the decor and architecture and of course the @guinness will keep you coming back for more. Pure gem,just short distance from kx station. A real irish pub,great Guinness pint and they have Tayto as well! Highly recommended Slainté

Nice London pub for beer with friends. The bartender let us sample the local beer, knowing we would prefer Guinness. That was kind.

What a great pub. A proper freehouse in the middle of an arid beer desert.

Diamond of a place. Great pint of Guinness and staff were sound.

How about tell your guests not to fight or curse outside, maybe talk softer than a shout after 10:00 so I can sleep? Every bloody night!

Food service has been discontinued for the time being. This is a lovely pub for a pint. They pour Guiness all day so the cask stays fresh. Some good dry cider is available as well.

First time in the pub and I will definitely be there again with it being in a great location.

This place is rocking. It’s down to earth. It’s fun it’s low key yet a ton of people go. The prices are great the staff is super kind, funny and social. All they do is serve liquor, no food. But it’s a fantastic place. Very social people. strangers connect. It’s just great.

The real traditional local pub experience in the heart of London.

This is a great little pub, what you expect of a neighborhood pub. Came on a Saturday night and had nice local atmosphere.

Run of the mill pub. Good selection of beers, ales and spirits. Atmosphere and a nice vibe to it. Friendly punters and lots of laughing. A good pub for a quick drink. But I didn't't like how the staff served me a drink when they got the mixer wrong and then tried to cover it up with the right one. They said nothing until I challenged it and told me "I wouldn't taste the difference". I can definitely taste it when you mix lemonade and coke together with a spirit. Don't be like that. A wrong order is a wrong order. Just redo it. I'd have given a higher rating if they weren't being so sneaky.

Been a few years since I was here. Fantastic and completely genuine old Irish pub. Had a Bermondsey bitter mind you and it was great.

Good to be back! And that it hasn’t changed. Not been here for three years. Recognise at least two of the staff. Love the carpet! Two decent ales on.

I decided to try the Guinness, popped in on Xmas Eve for a couple of (superb) pints. Very unfriendly welcome, though, from both of the male bar staff - they seemed OK with all others, regulars or not. This obviously precludes subpar intelligence equating to decent manners shown to all. A lot of reviews touch on this!

Typical pub, good beers, lively white wine and friendly welcome. Warm and cosy atmosphere to relax, read, write and, why not, meet (great) new people, from both sides of the Channel 😉 've been back there a year later (Nov 2022), and OF COURSE it's still a brilliant place to be, drink, talk to people, enjoy life. Group of us visited this pub before and after a curry meet up in London. The atmosphere in the pub is great. Quiet (relatively so) on our early visit but very busy when we returned from our meal. Great range of drinks whether barrel or bottle and prices not too bad considering we were in London.

First of all, I don’t understand the many people who say they were catching a train and went in for a drink. This place is nowhere near the train station or entrance. In fact it’s quite hidden, down a long street and tick around the bend. But anyway… this is a British pub as they used to be all over Kings Cross before it was all ‘gentrified’ and turned into pony’s wine bars. So all those tourists you see here complaining about not getting silver service, we’ll go some place else and spend £100 on a round of drinks and a sarnie. This place in VFM and you meet all sorts in here. It’s friendly, comfortable and you can hear yourself talk. You can usually get a seat too which is amazing as it’s pretty busy. The place is so well placed on a corner with a smattering o outside benches too. Probably why you can always get a seat. Yeah the decor is 1980s. The place hasn’t had a makeover for 40 years but that’s the way I like it. In a world where everything looks the same and greedy landlords take over everything, support this pub. You’ll be glad it’s still there tge next time you visit.

Smashing traditional pub just a stone's throw from King's Cross. Friendly atmosphere and great beer. The outdoor street side seating was just excellent and on a warm evening there was a lovely vibrant feel to the community. We had a fab time here and we're really pleased we decided to call in. Great Pub!

This pub is just one street from Kings Cross Station and has a country pub feel to it, its amazingly quiet considering its so close to the station, you can sit outside in the sun, no traffic or city noise

Wir waren abends auf ein Bier vor Ort. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter und stimmiges Ambiente. Es waren auch einige Locals vor Ort, was ich als positives Zeichen werte.

Freundliches, gemütliches Pub; leider gibt's die jahrelange, richtig gute britische Hausmannskost nicht mehr. Die Küche ist komplett zu.

Didn't think traditional pubs with sensibly priced local beers existed in London! Was impressed with cheerful welcome and made my visit to the capital most enjoyable. Only a stone's throw from Kings Cross.

Nice pub just a short walk off of Euston Road. They have a few beer choices so there's something for everyone. They also have a cat which is obviously a massive bonus. Staff are friendly too. Only down side is that it's a bit pricey, but that's the same for everywhere nowadays, especially in this area.
