Mcdonald's Restaurants in Gateshead

Chips were stale. If all McDonald's were like this I wouldn't ever have another one again. It never used to be that bad in this restaurant. Take some pride in what you're serving.

Cmon McDonald’s. Bloody outrageous

I'm not a regular customer of McDonalds, I used to be when I was younger. On the one hand the kiosk ordering and payment system is good but it means you spend more time waiting for your food (20% orders 80% waiting). Before the kiosks it was a more even split so it felt as though you were waiting less. The food hasn't changed, it's McDonalds (it tastes the same everywhere - even in Mexico) just the experience.

Service woefully slow... poorly maintained..

Drive through took 20 minutes, thought it was meant to be called fast food

Slowest service ever. Old women on breakfast licking her finger to open bag. Absolutely revolting. Like covid taught them nothing. Ridiculous.

went to the restaurant at 7.45am. the toilets stank like hell, the tables stank of the same damp cloth used in the toilets - you'd think the place would smell better first thing in the morning. the muffin bread was undercooked and smaller than the palm of my hand. horrible horrible place...

There was a 40min delay to get food, and there was an issue with their computer system, so several orders were lost.

Forgot I left this review so updating it as unfortunately have returned. Better than last time service is pretty slow but they’re polite which is better of the 2. Food could be better mainly the chips

Taking an hour to get through drive tru

Food is fine but the service times are very slow, we waited 20 mins on a Saturday morning when it was quiet

Nothing is ever ready. Parked up every time at the drive thro after I've been given the drink already just so they can go cold. Fast food my arse

This is the only branch that seems to constantly have products missing off their menu. Either simply lack of planning or very unlucky with machine failure.

The bathroom was too dirty and all the tables were too, also keep me waiting more than 15 minutes for two burgers!!!

Went though the drive thru last night and this branch served me 5 meals with very cold and dry French fries , this is absolutely bad service and experience I had

Lack of vegan options, for a company this big isn't good.

Toilets upstairs !! Used the machine to order. Only good thing was the table service and we didn't have to wait more than 15 mins.

Took over 20 mins for the food to be ready and the ice cream had melted, they replaced it but with the wrong one 🤦🏻

Lad preparing food with cuts up his arm, which looked fresh and should have been covered. Customers were complaining about service, staff replying they had no staff. Waited ages for something small, won't be coming back. Mayo chicken burger was stale.

Everytime we seem to order from here something is either missing or it’s cold. This time they’ve missed out half of the order they put fries in for a meal and no acc food for the meal and a box of nuggets

Went to drive through waited ages food terrible cold over cooked and tasteless.

I recently ordered from McDonald's via Just Eat and was highly disappointed. The food arrived cold, fries were soggy, and burgers tasted stale. The drinks were lukewarm and watered down due to melted ice. Despite these issues, Just Eat only offered a partial refund, which I find inadequate given the circumstances. This experience was far below expectations, and I urge Just Eat to improve their quality control. I hope for better service in the future.

Me and my girlfriend have been coming to this particular McDonalds for a long while and have had no issue with food or staff. However recently there’s seems to be a member of staff who we have had our issues with. I am unaware of her name, but she is an elderly lady reasonably tall. This member of staff is incredibly rude and nasty and she always gets our order wrong. Today she got our order wrong and when we went back to her to get it change, she huffed and puffed at us saying that we were wrong before she looked in our bag and realised she had got it wrong. The rest of the staff are very helpful and lovely however this member of staff is absolutely awful.

Worst, slowest and most expensive McDonald’s ever. Go to a proper McDonald’s. franchised so corners cut everywhere. The gents toilet stinks to the heavens. This drive through used to be 1st class but that’s all gone. Don’t even see the delivery drivers hanging about here anymore. Under staffed so I do feel for them. 😔

I've rang and spoke to the driver as it was sent to wrong address, I've sent him new address which is only 1.4 miles away from McDonald's he says it was I miles and now blocked my number nearly £30 for a McDonald's I won't receive

The drinks were missing from the order. I addressed this with the delivery driver, who said there were no drinks on the order. I showed him the receipt attached to the bag that showed that I ordered and paid for drinks. I asked him if he would get them. He refused and said that's all you have and I'm not coming back, quite aggressively. Absolutely appalling service and something I should not ever have to experience at my own home.

Missing fries but everything else good

Delivered late after 2 phone calls from the driver who apparently was lost (I live on the main road) The meal was delivered in paper bags - no insulated bag, the hot meal was cold and the ice cream more like milk

If you value your time, choose another McDonald's. In fact you'd probably get your food quicker if you drove to Cornwall and ordered your food there. Three cars in the drive thru queue and inside closed and still took way longer than it should of. Staff seemed happy just to stand around looking aimless.

We went to this Macdonald's at lunchtime on a Sunday and used the drive through lane. One hour later we'd gotten to the window to pay, asked what the delay was, were advised there was lots of customers inside and so they were running slow. I asked to speak to the manager, and asked why they didn't close the drive through or at least have someone go out and tell people waiting the wait was going to be that long. The manager was unaware that it was taking so long, didn't apologise and didn't start advising other waiting customers. I cancelled my order, still no apology from the manager. So after more than an hour waiting and speaking to the manager I left hungry, annoyed and seriously unsatisfied at the customer service. For a fast food restaurant this is the worst service I've ever received. Complaint has been lodged with Macdonald's directly, but I'd recommend avoiding this establishment.

Order never came. The app has it marked as delivered. Not good enough just eat, your service is absolutely disgusting. I’ve had many bad experiences with just eat, will not be ordering again. Get your act together

Never get the first delivery slot the time is always revised. 10 pound difference between ordering online vs drive thru. Will use drive thru going forward.

the driver went to another delivery before my delivery & no communication from the driver

App the main problem, staff tried to help but ended up having to order a meal in separate items, unclear if points being used with earning bonus points offer, or whether the code could be accepted at the till in 1 order. McDonald's used up my points then charged me the full cost! Took an hour from arriving to receiving cold food in separate items not together! Any requests on the cold food would mean another 20 min delay on food orders was announced to manage customers' expectations. Waste of time money and although staff friendly McDonald's don't deserve the business. It would have been quicker, healthier, tastier and faster, better value to have had a proper meal at Toby Carvery across the road! I could not get the McDonald's food for thought to work and you cannot contact them other than post. A very poor dining experience. Avoid app, avoid this branch early evening. Put me right off McDonald's restaurants.

I have been waiting 2 hours for this

Came twice on my lunch break for quickness and have sat in the drive through for over 30 minutes each time. Absolutely shockingly ridiculous. Meant to be fast food but they are understaffed and McDonald’s have got them doing far too much than they can handle! Could get served a proper meal in a restaurant quicker than this.

ordered at 10.10. estimated delivery time was 10.35 when I ordered. then kept being pushed back. and eventually arrived at 11.15. one hour and five minutes after I ordered. it isn't good enough. the driver had been assigned at 10.30, but then didn't arrive at the restaurant until just after 11 to collect our food. then to top it off we couldn't see where they were on the map while they were delivering out food.

Waited 30 minutes for a triple burger and an ice cream when it was dead and staffs were wondering around. My order was number 17, they called 18, 19, 20, 21 and a few deliveries. When I asked about my order, the guy just turned around and ignored me completely, no response no apology! Ice cream was melted, and didn’t enjoy my burger.

The fries are the worst things I have ever tasted.They taste like they been through the wash with ball sweat soaked undies. Need I say more ????!!!!

McDonald's have really gone down hill

Very busy, McDonald's app was the main problem for it to take an hour to get food then the order was duplicated, cold and the staff though helpful were telling customers food would be another 20 minutes. Ot just wasn't worth trying McDonald's again. Over charged by the ap, mcdfoodforthouhut feedback did it work, no email,etc . A really busy restaurant that's worth avoiding at peak times. There were cars in the queue that were turning around to go elsewhere. It would have been quicker cheaper and better real food to have gone to Toby Carvery over the road this time!!
