Mcdonald's Restaurants in Gateshead

Consistently lack lustre food, barely any topping on flurry and sometimes cold food. The restaurant is also usually messy or behind too.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from 3 members of staff, we ordered two specifically plain burgers, one plain no cheese and one plain with cheese. It took over 15 minutes for our food to be brought to us after witnessing the 2 members of staff laughing and arguing and passing our food back and forth to eachother, for it all to come completely wrong and laughing at us when we took it back to receive the correct items, chips were cold aswell, wouldn’t bother going back

Individual that was on front counter in a berghaus jacket has absolutely no volume while shouting for orders not being dramatic but whispered my order number. Why put people on front counter that don’t have confidence with people, when they could be in kitchen. Absolutely ridiculous.

Not been to McDonalds for ages & can remember why. Very limited seating for such a busy place. Order via screen is good but large queues for service. Food arrived after 10 minutes wait, but was barely warm TBH. Didn’t have the inclination to fight my way through the crowd of people waiting for their food, so just ate it. Doubt I’ll be back soon.

The new big cheesy is amazing it should be on the menu all the time

Waited 20 minutes after ordering on the app, supposed to be fast, they got my order mixed up with someone else while I’m on my dinner break from work waste of time, When asked if I would Any sauces I said yes, can I have a sour cream and chive for the inconvenience and she still said they were 50p absolute Joke Bring back the one that was next to Marks & Spencer

I feel bad for the employees because most of the computers stopped working. However I stood and waited for 40 minutes after placing my order, and my food never arrived. There were no employees at the till so I didn't get the opportunity to even speak to them and tell them my order hasn't arrived. Ended up leaving without the food I paid for nothing

Amazing restaurant in metro centre the staff are so nice and friendly and the food is so nice and cooked and lovely and I would recommend it to everyone who like Mac Donald’s

Not exactly sure it should be classed as fast! 10 minutes to get food.

Very crowded and unhelpful staff

Despite being unpleasantly crowded in the Metrocentre on the evening of Thursday 24th of August, I was met with EXQUISITE service from the dashing young generation in the work force! A particular young chap which comes to mind was a youthful boy named (I believe his name was) Jeremy, a chap with a PERFECT etiquette and a bright future ahead of him. I was struggling to find a place to order, until Jeremy ushered me over to the tills, of which he was very polite and smiled a lot, which had lightened up what could've been a horrible day as my cat had sadly been hit by a car and did not survive :(. RIP Milo, you will be missed. Jeremy had also suggested I try the cheesy garlic bites, of which he claimed were dashing! Once I had recieved my receipt, it only took minutes before Jeremy had called me over to collect my order. The food was very delicious and I would highly recommend visiting this MacDonalds. 5 stars!!! Hooray!!!

Came here during peak time on a weekend, the queue was pretty long but we only had to wait 5-10 mins which was pretty decent wait time considering the crowd. We tried the limited edition mc crispy chicken deluxe, the burger was spot on but the thing that put me off was the bacon bit , which didn’t taste good, so I removed it from the burger and it tasted delicious. Double BBQ quarter pounder with cheese was a generous sized burger and tasted pretty good.

Really bad took forever to make the chips were not salted and the drink was half way full.

Is this normal to go into a McDonald restaurant and have to listen to all of the bleeping alarms and sounds that were so loud… everyone was having to talk louder to order their food and when sitting the noise was the same no background music to soften it … I spoke to the manager who informed me they are the oven alarms and for when orders are ready !!.. he said has had to listen to this for 10 years and can block it out ? We’ll bully for him this is not the customer experience I wanted with my grandchildren 😬

waiting nearly 20 minutes for a mcspicy just a burger right? No! No! No! I waited the same time I waited in a 5 star restaurant for a 3 corse meal this is absolutely ridiculous on the service they have I was in a hurry!

Slightly better than the Team Valley and Felling McDonald's yet their service speed is still that of a snails.

I visited on Sunday late afternoon, I had a Spicy Big Tasty Burger and I got a food poisoning... never ever visit again... 😡🤬😡🤬😡

Unpleasant experience. The chips was cold, the apple pie was cold, the place was cramped and crowded, and the attendant was a bit rude and impatient. Won't be coming back.

Chips are shocking as usually, by the time got food as waited ages for the new strawberry frape everything was cold. The frape then wasn’t even the right size and not even blended proper and tastes like pure syrup.

I ordered plant burger and received all ingredients (bun, lettuce, tomato, pickles and vegan mayo) apart of the burger paty itself. I mean I am vegan but that doesn't mean I need to eat lettuce in the bun.(McDonald's at Gateshead MetroCentre).

Spot on ,really nice.called in today at about 11 the place is really clean and tidy,the lady that took our tray is a credit to the company so friendly and polite..was constantly on the move tidying stuff up.

Store very busy and always understaffed all foods were just warm and staff were rude when asked fr the food to be redone but hot

Oh no am lactose intolerance but i ask for no cheese on my double cheese burger. What did u do but 2 slices off cheese on my burger. Guys if it say no cheese on it u can't not decide to put chesse on now am going have to scrape the cheese off

The customer service was terrible I can’t believe I waited 45 minutes for my order and the chips were still frozen

2nd McDonald restaurant within a week where the food has not been warm enough for us to enjoy. The place was too busy to speak to anyone, and the staff didn't look as if they would be bothered. Ditched the food as worried about getting stomach problems!!!! 😡

Visited the restaurant in the metro centre last night. Received our order reasonably quickly considering how busy the staff were. We also spoke to a lovely Customer Assistant called James who was taking great care to clean around the restaurant, on his hands and knees, after several tables of people had left their rubbish. Shame people can’t just put their own rubbish in the bin to help the staff!

Handy to grab some food while your shopping. Queues are usually quite big though.

This place needs extra staff. It's not fair on the people who work there to have to get through such a large volume of customers with no help! The young girl who brought our food was very lovely but most staff looked unhappy and overwhelmed. Waits are long, no space to sit and inconsistent food. Clean up your act McDonald's and help this location out!

Large queues and Some cleaning issues but other then that i would highly reccomend.

Complete shambles. 11 30am on a Sunday morning. 25 minute minute wait for four basic meals. Because our order was the biggest none of the lazy staff could be bothered to put it together, manager came and sorted it eventually. Attitude of the staff giving out food was extremely questionable. Looks like the mood is throughout from top to bottom.

Great staff at McDonalds Blaydon.

Took the little one for a happy meal. Kids seem to love it but I didn't. Chips were cold chicken and mayo wrap was ok but nothing to write home about and diet coke was full of ice.

What can you say about McDonald's. Best thing is consistency.

Great service food was great too. Got 6 chicken nuggets and fries and milkshake for 2.

Clean, food was lovely however visited midweek just before dinner time rush and I can imagine it being very cramped when busy as it's small

It’s the second time I eat here and they forgot to give me dips,even though I paid for one of them and the rest supposed to be part of the meal…All 4 of them missing

Decent established business however its size is rather small which is a disadvantage. The employees are slow and it is always crowded causing sloppy burgers. Its OK. Hahahha 69 go brrrrr

Food was cold, that's the burgers and fries. the only thing that was good was the ice-cream, and you can't mes that up. need to do better for a fast food outlet.

I do not shop usually from there but unluckily was around there and bought food twice in 2 days. Yesterday my daughters kiddy meal was missing its vegetables. Today I ordered two items, chips and a cheeseburger and they managed to miss the cheese burger. Of course I could have checked the bag but how useless do you have to be to miss adding to a bag half the items it should contain??? Thank you for the great experience choosing to but from you. NOT.

Staff won’t clear someone else’s rubbish when we asked them they told us bin at entrance to shop near kiosk. Messy as anything no one clearing tables it’s packed in here would rather go across the road to retail park least they clear the tables i thought that’s what the staff on floor gets paid to do as a friend of mine works here and she told me they get floor staff to clear tables and tend to customers and replenish sauces ect shocking service wouldn’t even give one star

Lovely,what can beat a mcdonalds breakfast,double sausage and egg mcmuffin please.

Vile!!! ordered a big mac with bacon x2 and fries, might as well ordered a lettuce in a bun. Burgers were stone cold, bacon was just fat/rind and the fries were half cooked needless to say everything went in the bin. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PLACE!!!! and this visit isn't at their busyest time.

Family afternoon or. We enjoyed bowling (booked online in advance), a coffee stop and then dodgems plus a few amusements. Easy to find everything, plenty of staff around to ask if unsure. Whole area very busy and very little attempt at social distancing or masks being worn.

I have had a poor experience.. was served cold food and when I complained they were not willing to acknowledge and (sic) the person cleaning the tables put the same cleaning cloth in my tray that had food! Inevitably I walked out with sour feelings. I complained to the manager who apologised but what's done is done.. not visiting there ever again!

Food was lovely and hot lots of salt on my fries and they rembered my extra gherkins. Food was brought to the table within 5 minutes. Even won a big mac on the Monopoly promotion 😁✅

Too much crowd and very delay in getting the food

On a mid week non busy day, food took a while to arrive, place was not clean, and the atmosphere was very loud.

There were 9 of us(2 adults and 7 kids) so quite a large order. Given our food fast, nothing missing and staff were very friendly. Cheers

Order on the app n collect for cool deals and stuff. This branch is always busy but quick serving time. Toilets were still closed last time I was there.

Much busier than I expected, but it was the start of school holidays and end of lockdown. I ordered food on the app and it was quickly delivered to the table. The food quality was good. Hot and fresh. A little better than my local macdonalds in Killingworth.

Very Packed, long Qs to order, collect and Sit in, all in 1 small space, not good idea every 1 on top each other, q also with Delivery Drivers.

Busy place, clean tables between clients.

Visited this fast food restaurant on Friday last week, not a lot of covid rules being followed, and very little social distancing in place... more interested in the money. Place was a little dirty, and the toilets were out of action... no reason given. We ordered small coke, small hot chocolate, cheeseburger, moss dippers, chips ... total cost £7.03. Food was brought to our table, instructed to remove the food from the tray.. Food was just about warm... hot chocolate not very hot, NOT a enjoyable visit. Would not recommend and would not revisit if in area.
