Nando's - Gateshead, Metro Centre in Gateshead

I ordered sunset burger as always..the size of the burger shrank it looks like children’s portion. The chicken didn’t taste as good as it used to be. It is a shame because it used to be my favourite..not any more with the small portion size and poor quality chicken yet prices keep going up..will never revisit!

The food was great as usual but I just wanted to say the outstanding service we received from the helpful staff. Dannisha especially was very attentive a massive credit to the restaurant.

We were looked after by the lovely Milly for my cousins 13th birthday. She made sure we got the best service for a very emotional day for us all and we couldn’t have asked for better! A lovely young lady and a credit to your team thank you Milly!! X

Glasses weren’t washed properly as well as cutlery, chips were spicy when they weren’t meant to be, my wrap was basically a lettuce wrap and halloumi was in my wrap even though it was a ‘side’

Terrible quality, stale cold chicken, prices gone through the roof yet portion went down in size, slow unprofessional customer service and lack of any care

We normally love Nandos but were really disappointed today. We arrived just after opening, dirty smeared glass windows next to our table, old rice left underneath table and various other bits of rubbish scattered on floor. Waiting 15min just for our drinks to be brought over, food service equally slow, plenty of staff just none of them seemed to be doing anything! Plates of food stacked up on the pass waiting to go and but noone bothered. Kids meals were tiny portions of chicken breast, half the size they usually are. Won't be returning in a hurry.

My family and I visited this branch and we had the most amazing experience. The food was on point and the team were extremely attentive, it was close to closing time but they accommodated us and provided a 5 star service in particular Jordan and Corey.

Bit grubby. No cutlery for about 15 mins. Couple of dishes badly cooked. Not the usual Nando’s experience!

Can't really comment on the food, etc. as it's years since I've actually eaten in Nando's but dare say it hasn't dramatically changed. However, tried to go today & was told there's a 10 to 15 minute wait & to queue outside. I wouldn't mind but there were numerous empty tables & there was only two of us. When I pointed out the empty tables I was told it's because there's only 2 servers on duty & it's half term. Was half term a surprise? Maybe organise your rotas better & surely it's better to sit people down to wait at an empty table with a drink rather than outside & then give up & go elsewhere.

I don’t know what’s happened portion of the chip's the going smaller the take same money But cheeps was be very small I can counting by hand

Staff were all so lovely and it seemed like they were happy to be working! Their singing and dancing in the kitchen was really lovely to see. At the same time, they were extremely efficient and the food, as always, was lovely! x

A number of years since I was last in any Nandos... not everything available on the menu on this day, quality was as good as I remember but prices 😲😲😲 too high, once in a blue moon visits only.

I love Nandos but the food isn't as good as it used to be. The portions are way smaller for the high prices the butterfly chicken was dry and the broccoli which i don't mind crunchy was actually raw and cold. Shame because I really liked it at one time

Overall low score, purely because they still haven't fixed the Disabled Toilets door, which needs a back heel to open, which I reported some 6 months ago, today's date is 19th Sept 2023), let's see if this gets it fixed!

As expected, Nandos overpriced chicken that tasts good.

Food and service are great, but the atmosphere and cleanliness really pulls the overall score down. I'll avoid this particular Nandos in the future

Nando's Metro Centre - Qube offers exceptional food and excellent customer service. We went for the whole chicken sharing platter with four sides. Kudos to the chef - we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and couldn't have made it better ourselves. The best grilled chicken is actually spicy? (something you don't get often in England) and very flavorful; it's a fantastic place. Undoubtedly one of the best halal restaurants in Newcastle.

Very nice nandos in Newcastle. The chicken fell off the bone. The peri-salted chips are way better than the plain salted. You can't even compare to the Nandos that you get in South Africa.

Food was cold, sat on the pass for 10 minutes due to no staff. Chicken was tough as old boots, never again!

The food was utterly foul it arrived cold as there were no waiting staff and food was just sitting on the pass,it was clear that there was a problem,we did complain but the young girl did say she would change it but we couldn't wait any longer.I would expect more for nearly fifty pounds tbh.

It takes a lot to impress me with food, 1st time in Nando's...Well done.. with the meal and service, food was very tasty was hot as in cooked hot not spicy had the medium heat, chips were so good, chicken was very tasty and fell off the bone. Will be calling in again for sure.

Very nice food and great customer service. We had the whole chicken- sharing plater with four sides. My compliments to the chef... we really enjoyed our meal and we couldn't have made it better ourselves. Customer service was above and beyond from the whole team working here, a shout out to Katie who made very good recommendations and was very informative regarding the food. Her super friendly attitude is credit to the Nandos company. Thanks again:)

We had a lovely experience being our first time eating here. The waiter explained everything to us and the app was really easy to use for ordering our food and drinks. We ordered a platter for two with ciders and it came to just over £35. The chicken was tender, and very rightly spiced for my delicate taste buds. They have an array of other spicy sauces for those less delicate. Obviously a very popular restaurant as we queued (less than ten minutes) to get in but only had a short wait for our food. We did have a problem with a knife shortage when we collected our cutlery but your staff quickly rectified that who I must say never stopped the whole time we were in there, hats off to you all, great job.

My first time at Nandos. Food was nice. My son ordered chicken thighs. A short time after service, the waitress came with one more thigh as one on my son's plate had been deemed too small. That was very good.

Staff were great and so was the food, think the attention to details could be looked at though, menus covered in sauce from previous customers, salt shakers were empty on our table and 3 of the surrounding tables, nothing major wrong with the place but it's the little things that can give someone the ick

It was a visit at 28 January. Good thing is I have spoke to the staff and I managed to get refund for the mashed potatoes and the corn, that makes me feel better about this place. However, I think this visit worth to put a review on for the public to see, since not everyone is comfortable with complaining/giving feedback to the staff like that. My food was supposed to be 5 wings with 2 sides, mashed potatoes and corn. The mash came out completely dried, and the corn looks smaller than my fist (my hand is smaller than average). It was definitely not worth the price as in £11.95. The picture looks better than irl.

What better place to go before the movies than Nando’.s.. was our thoughts. Upon arriving with idle time to munch of some peri chicken thighs and halloumi fries we entered the chicken palace. A young team of staff were at the helm, subtly distracted by their passing mates in the mall but none the less a table was shown and orders taken. Halloumi sticks to start fresh off the grill… no quarrels here but who’d have known the wait we’d endure. After 35 minutes our show time was looming and no finger licking Chicken in sight. After asking one of the staff about our prolonged wait… her eyes rolled to Jupiter and back as she said she’d check. Hoorah chicken arrived, however our showtime had stated so inhalation of food begun. Not quite the relaxed evening in our Monday best. Nando’s seemed to lack the management for their staff, with standards slipping and no napkins in the vicinity. Next time we’ll get our steps in and travel to Blue mall to make it on time to catch the movie.

……from a big corporate brand. There is a load of choices in Gatesheads Metrocentre to have fast food, as well as Nandos, Big Luke’s and other well known brands as well as coffee shops. My friend and I chose Nandos for lunch and it was as expected, clean, good service and nice food. If you like chicken, great, if not, maybes try elsewhere. We both enjoyed our meal without being overawed.

Really disappointed as they forgot some of our order! Waited over 20minutes for our desserts which never came, got a lot of sour faces from the employees obviously waiting for us to go. Normally love Nandos but I’m seriously disappointed.

Visited yesterday in a large group of 15. Ordered family platter and a number of burgers and sides. We were told food would take 30 minutes as they were busy, but we didn't mind waiting knowing it would be fresh. Unbelievably, we found a few frozen fries in our peri peri chips, not sure how they got there! Burgers were undercooked, and a number of us ended up with mild food poisoning. Once the food was served, not a single member of staff came to check on us, which is also really poor. No one was available to raise our complaint with. Won't be eating at this restaurant again unfortunately.

We ordered 3 burgers and one full platter, Chicken was fine but the burgers and fries was undercooked even i found couple of frozen fries in my plates such a horrible experience 3 of us got bad stomach and food poisoning such a disgusting food we ever had. Never going back there again.

Family of 6, seated immediately. Greeter very friendly and pleasant. Ordered food via QR code, very easy to do. Service quick and great food. I’d mistakenly ordered coleslaw instead of corn, but staff brought out corn at no extra charge, we were so grateful.

Unfortunately after we ordered our meal, we got told that the fryer wasn't working and we would have to wait for 25 minutes for our food. However we did get to choose a starter of our choice for free during our wait. I chose Olives and our Waitress piled the bowl full them!

Staff were friendly but the food didn't meet the bench mark. 1st meal came cold which the staff was happy enough to replace but the 2nd meal arrived missing the garlic bread. Reported it was missing and it never arrived.

I visited your restaurant yesterday with my partner and kids and was not impressed with the food or service. I ordered a double chicken burger and what i got was a small hard single chicken breast cut in half. The staff made no attempt to check up on us which lead me to go looking for them as i found hairs in my food, i found staff huddled together chatting and even observed one cuddling the othere, complaining they were tired. This was happening on the restaurant floor wile customers were left . We spent over 40pound to be given hairy food and observe child like behaviour in your staff. I will never eat at your restaurant again and will have no problem informing others of my experience. Staff need better trained on customer service and food hygiene.

Absolutely disgusting place. Had to wait 40 min for substandard food. While we was waiting 3 different customers asked for a refund and lefted without food. I Will never go there again. 100%. Not sure how a chain such as this can operate like this??? Management!!!! Shocking place absolutely shocking.

We are on holiday in the area and had a day at the metrocentre; the kids wanted to go to Nandos for early dinner before heading back to our holiday cottage. We were shown to our table, managed to order on the phone after scannign the barcode. Empty Drinks glasses arrived 5 or so minutes later for bottomless fillups, and Food arrived 10 minutes or so after that? We all enjoyed our chicken in various shapes and sizes, sides of chips, rice, veg and other bits, all hot and tasty. We love the sweetcorn. I like the different spicy sauces to keep everyone happy! Found the staff friendly and the facilities clean. I would visit again without hesitation which is about the highest praise I can offer.

Being a vegetarian . I have a mushroom and Halloumi pitta. It was lovely. Service was spot on. Yeah highly recommended.

Haven't been for years, so as a treat whilst shopping, let's go. Very expensive for 3 of us, where was crispy skin ? Bit slimey, couldn't eat the chicken wings as an extra, poor quality food, nothing like it was years ago when I enjoyed my 1st one, definitely has changed, nothing worth talking about, not going back in a rush.

Wait time around 15 mins before getting a table. I would prefer the scanning of the QR code and joining a virtual queue. Normally a busy restaurant, but food is served quite quickly, although o have had to ask for desert to be bought to the table on 2 previous occasions.

Rwgular nandos, but dead busy place, most of the times waiting to get in. The plates are too small for kids. Every time Food is just warm and chips soggy and not the first time this happened.

Never have any stock in. Management are running the place terribly. Portions are tiny compared to other nandos and the staff are running around clueless with what to do.

The concept is really cool that you can choose your type of peri peri but you can feel that the chicken is not fresh but frozen. Also the sides were really poor of quality. One guy of the staff was really nice, I appreciated it.

The place was packed, but they brought the food over quickly and it was piping hot.

Who dosen't love a cheeky Nando's? The app wasn't working properly for ordering at the table so had to go to the counter ..1st world problems. Good food, food came quickly even though they were busy.

That was my first time to Nando's and I have never thought Nando's could be so delicious before! What a pity I'm just a tourist living in US and I don't know what's the mext time to Nando's but I will miss the taste for sure!

Food was just warm and paid 8.50 for chicken thighs by them selves and a chicken sharing platter for 25 quid cost nearly 40 quid for it all and was not impressed at all for the amount of chicken we got was an absolute rip off for warm food and it wasn't even busy

Me and my husband come here at least once a month and always leave with big smiles and full tummies! Our waitress Emily (?) didn’t quite catch her name was so lovely and attentive and knew the menu inside out! Thoroughly recommend!

Worth the budget but portion is quite small. The taste is exceptional!! The forgot some orders though so heads up on what you order 😅

The problem with ordering everything online at your table is that is easy to make a mistake and almost impossible to rectify it. The member of staff that said they would see to it was never seen again. The food was a little disappointing compared to other Nando's.

Very slow service! 30mins waiting for our meal, it ruined my daughter's birthday celebrations. The atmosphere wasn't pleasant either. We were offer an extra plate of dessert though to compensate for waiting even longer for the Afters. Terrible service!

Enjoyed my chicken wrap and chips Wrap was too much so was given a box and carrier bag to bring it home so I had it with a salad for my tea.

This place does not even deserve 1 star, it deserves no stars! We visited on 25th September and we were told we had to order using the app for vard payments and at the till for cash. I downloaded the app asked the waitress how to use it and she had no clue so she asked one of the waiters he told me to scan the QR code on the table which didn't work! So he just said to go to the till. There were no menus so asked the manager for one. And wasn't even given a kids menu! Finally places our order. It was so loud in there you can't here anything. The food came quickly but it was a disgrace the chicken was so dry and overcooked. The chips were not fully done. And the portions were small. Trying to get the attention of any staff for sauces or anything was impossible. We left the majority of our food as it really wasn't nice. We were robbed of £45 and shouldn't expect to receive that type of service or quality of food for that price. Really wish we had waited to be seated somewhere else. Anywhere else would of been better! Spoke with the general manager on the way out and all he did was try and fob me off, whoch was really embarrasing, he was using covid as an excuse and saying they are trying their best, then to me disbelief he offered me a voucher to be sent out in the post but I told him no as we wouldn't want to visit again!

Great service, friendly staff, food was top quality.

The food from here is usually very nice (I'd stay away from the vegetairriam chicken substitute as it is terrible) and the staff are always friendly and helpful and it isn't too badly priced
