McDonald's Holyhead in Isle of Anglesey

Food was cold and when we complained. The shift manager Mike said "they are all cooked fresh what can I do ?"no apology at all .then when he brought replacement food.was very rude and intimidating. Disgraceful attitude

Just had a drive thru, asked for double bbq cheeseburger meal with no onions and got a double cheese burger with only onions. I mean how stupid can you be? I may as well have asked for a double cheeseburger meal which would be cheaper. Chips okay, banana milkshake nice.

The worst McDonalds i’ve ever step foot in. I was told that it wasn’t there fault my chips where cold and i would have to wait 10 minutes for fresh ones. Then my burger would’ve been cold. It’s simply not on as a big american restaurant like McDonalds should have a much MUCH better service. After confronting the manager over this situation i was barred and told never to come back. Shocking place.

Staff need to learn to tell the time and get organised. 0600 means 0600 not whatever time they feel like. 0630 closed and no food ready. Very bad service.

Disgusting service. Cold food. I went with my daughter and ordered a meal but didn't get the fries and only had 1 chicken strip I my wrap. My son went and ordered 20 nuggets as well as other things his friend ordered hers with a coke. They got ho.e to discover the nuggets were missing and the coke was an oasis. They went back to complain and all they got was the 20 nuggets no apology , when they mentioned that because of McDonald's mistake tge other food was cold all they could say was " there's nothing we can do about that " Disgusting. Well we won't be back there absolutely disgraceful place with extremely rude st😡🤬

It was horrible my sisters McFlurry had a strand of hair in it and mine had two chips in it. We found that all the food seemed to taste as if they had some form of fish it was horrible my mother found her mccrispy was disassembled.

the absolute disgust of chris and his fellow workers, to my young son fergus was appalling, my 2 year old son was crying whilst we were waiting for our food and chris came over and started to be disrespectful telling me that if the baby doesn’t “shut up” then we have to leave. Now i’m sure if chris had a young child he would understand and see that making a 2 year old be quiet is not as easy as it seems. 5 minutes later after my baby was still crying we were told that we would have to leave now (even though the food wasn’t finished) at this point i tried to argue my point across because of my anger and we were told persistently that if we don’t leave the building now he would have to go get the managers. THIS IS A DISGRACE AND NO WORKER SHOULD BE TREATING A CUSTOMER LIKE THIS.

The food here was nice and tasty for fast food. The service was fast. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great food stop for something fast.

Hi I got 2 mc ds drive thru que at 10.43am by time I got served it was 11am.. yes u guessed it no more breakfasts... I was fumming..It must have just turned 11 the car in front me wouldn't move up any more after getting served. plus girl took 2mins 2 ask me what I would like an it was only 11am no joy they stop serving at 11am what a joke.. so if your looking 2 get breakfast go at 10.30am by time u get served it b 10.45. they may aswell say stop serving at 10.45 piss take as the car behind me got his breakfast on other booth. felt like I was in film falling down. raging I was. the que wasn't even that long. about 10cars if that. NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH SERVES.

It is a standard McDonalds, good customer service, half decent facilities, ok location, good for a quick bite to eat if desperate for food.

Decided to go in for food as I felt it would be quicker boy was I wrong!! I waited for my food for 20mins people before me had waited for over half an hour, spoke to them twice the first time they ignored me. The second was because the couple that came in after me got their food before me. When I got my food is was stone cold burger was rock hard. My coke was warm and flat I honestly thought it was sat there all day. It’s really angered me, I used to highly rate this McDonald’s but I will not be attending again. Absolutely disgusting 🤮

We all love a cheeky Maccie D , but there is a issue with the drive thru ,if there are too many cars the traffic is lined up on the main road not just to get to the drive thru but to get into the ASDA car park . It needs to be addressed

I visited this McDonald's on my way back home to Ireland from the UK I ordered a chicken Big Tasty meal and I found that the chicken was very tough and didn't taste right. The fries tasted like they had been reheated a few times. The standards of the food in this McDonald's was very bad. I brought it to the attention of one of the staff which she assured me that it was all freshly cooked so I wasn't going to get into an argument with her so just left my food there and left will not be returning there again. Tried ‘The big tasty’ for the first time and what a disappointment! Looked like someone with no hands put it together, dripping with sauce, slimy lettuce and freezing cold! Had to microwave it when I arrived home which is only two minutes away!

Open all year round and great hangover grub , maccie ds has a place in everyones life , at anytime of the year , its iconic memory food weve all been there , and scoured the menu for out favourites and much needed soul food....

Good staff working there mostly happy people , they work hard , no complaints , food as you’d expect from a fast food chain , coffee is always very good

Went with the family and really enjoyed the new screen procedure where you tailor your burgers.

Very busy afternoon, but nothing is ever too much of an ask of Mandy there dining assistant. She is an absoloute credit to the store welcoming everyone with a lovely warm smile and willing to help in any which way she can. I Sat with my son for approximately 2hours on the newly renovated iPad section which he throughly enjoyed. Food was box standard McDonald’s, overall a very relaxed afternoon and pleasant atmosphere! :)

Sometimes the fries,and burgers are cold and if you go there late then the ice cream machine is off.And the food can be siow arriving.

Lovely evening, thought it would be nice to eat at mcDonalds Holyhead on Anglesey really fancied an ice cream and yet again the machine was broken, just get a back up machine please! really annoyed with this McDonald's it's the 7th time this has happened new management needed at this place!!

This is one of the nest mcDonalds I have cisited. The outlet was very clean and in exceptionally good order. The food was delivered to my table very fast (7:30am). The car park was clean and tidy. The food was typical McDonalds - excellent for the price. The staff were extremely nice and very friendly.

Sadly this place is staffed by younger people (teenagers/early 20s) predominately female (as they are wearing makeup to rival a gang of Geishas, not what you'd call acceptable workplace attire) who clearly want to be somewhere else, doing something else. service is shockingly poor, the presentation of the food looks like it was thrown together and then shaken around a paintmixer, orders are frequently wrong and it takes forever to get your order . Last time we visited (wet inside) I was able to count 27 people 'working' of which a full 9 were stood around chatting (very obviously not on a break before anyone starts) and letting the queue at the front and drive though rack up.

The food was, of course, bog-standard McDonald's fare, but the service was superior to that of many other braches of this organisation. Handy for a late burger and fries.

Have been here with the grandchildren numerous times and never thought of reviewing it. Service has always been good despite being extremely busy at times. I like the modernisation which has improved it no end. Kids love the computers and the touch screen order system is good, I have used these abroad where it helps with not knowing the language.

Can’t understand having to wait in a bay for 2 double cheese burgers wasn’t busy . Some staff nice polite but others here you go 2 double cheese burgers no thank you nothing . But all in all not too bad and it is just fast food ( mostly ) but I keep going back so they got something .

We found ourselves in Holyhead without any vacancies in any hotels. We went to this Mcdonalds for some warmth and to relax a bit. They were an half an hour from closing and the manager on the late shift asked us if we were without a room. when we explained our situation> he went out of his way to call other hotels and both him and his staff made us feel as welcomed as possible for the short time we were there. It might not seem like it but these people have a lot of hospitality.

A good example of the franchise - Ideally placed for people coming off the Irish Ferry or passing through Holyhead. Plenty of seating inside and out and easy parking - including accessible spaces. It's always on our list of places to stop for a coffee on the way through to visit family in Treaddhur Bay. It's always clean and the staff are friendly.

Visited there on the way to the ferry for an early breakfast - food matched the pictures and tasted like it should. Service was efficient.

Visited late Saturday afternoon. Wasn't particularly busy but took a long time to get served with 2 cheeseburger happy meals. The only good thing was that the good was fresh and hot.

Visited with my grandchildren while waiting at the counter i watched the girl serving actually throwing chips into two happy meal boxes i told her i hope your not going to treat my food in that way. Awful service i stood there for nearly 15 mins waiting the chips were put in the boxes and left on the top and i asked are those getting cold there and they were put in the hot warmer. Its just awful place

There's awful customer service then there's Holyhead Mcdonalds customer service....Wasn't expecting much in terms of customer service anyhow considering.....My little one required a quick dinner after being on the utterly useless Stena Line boat for nigh on 5 hours. More on them in another review. We ordered via drive thru and were told to wait in the bay which was fine considering it was a Saturday. Food arrived TWENTY minutes later with no sign of an apology.Useless..

Thursday 27th April we had arrived in Holyhead we were early for our 13.50 Stena Adventure sailing to Dublin Port. We decided to get a coffee here as we saw it as we drove towards the Port.It was a small McDonald's, but busy it also had a drive thru.We ordered 2 medium lattes £1.29 each, 2 cheeseburgers 99p each total £5.56. Our coffees were ok but the cheeseburgers were rather yuk, the bread was hot and dried up. We only had them as a stop gap till we could get lunch on the ferry, we left them after 1 mouthful, a bit wasteful but no point in eating something that is not nice.

Not the best McDonald's I have visited tbh, food is warm not hot, u have to pay for sauces, I got a large big tasty meal and was given 1 sashet of tomato sauce and was told I had to pay if I wanted more!!! Really that meal cost me about £7!!! This store is a franchise and I complained to McDonald's and they told me to email the bloke that has the franchise which I did, and guess what? No reply, well done!!!

My husband and myself recently stopped off for coffee at MacDonalds in Holyhead. No smile, no "how may I help you", nothing! One girl who had blonde hair had most of her hair trailing over where she was serving food and the other two did not even acknowledge our presence. We were met with an icy stare and attitude. Tables were not wiped, food under tables. Very poor service. Felt very uncomfortable in there. Manager needs a talk with his staff as to how to treat customers.

Very slow service. Constantly. Even when ordering just a cheese burger I have been left waiting.Most of the time when I order food for my family I am directed to pull up and wait. Then when I do finally receive my food, I have had mistakes in the past. I don't know how Holyhead restaurant are being managed, but they should take a look at the Caernarfon or Abergele branch. Called in for breakfast this morning...served by a grumpy young girl who couldn't manage to say Hello back. Placed my order,paid ...then it's just "who's next" ...so I stood and waited. Just One on till, big que. Continued to wait....when I saw the customer who was served AFTER me, pick up a tray off the counter. I thought Hmmmm...so where's mine? I had to ask and a finger was pointed to a tray that had been sat on the counter. Apparently that was my breakfast that I'd been waiting for for five minutes! Didn't realise you had to be physic . Not impressed. Come on manager of McDonald's....you need to train you're staff. Terrible service.. ... its not that hard to smile or talk to customers.

Saved my life in the mornings, staying at the travelodge and grabbing coffee at Macdonalds :) Actually don't like the Macdonalds concept very much but this was one of the nicer establishments.

It's a hit and miss here. Lately they do get orders better - usually you'd be waiting 20 minutes for a plain hamburger and when it comes out it has everything still on it - so that's a plus, but customer service is usually not very friendly. Some are really nice but quite a lot of them can be very dry unfortunately.. Basically - your average McDonalds!

cleaners are ageist,throwing us out for no reason at all. Sat with our friends enjoying our food and we get told to leave or they will be phoning the police? Just because we are teenagers,doesn't mean that we are troublesome and will be making noise and being rowdy. I am not impressed

Arrived in Holyhead at 7pm and decided to go for food, as had been travelling all day. We ordered 2 of the new burger meals. We were told to take a seat and they would bring it over. We sat there for over 10minutes before going back to the counter. We were told it had only been 8 minutes. There were atleast 10 members of staff stood by tills chatting, there were maybe 4 other people in the whole place. By the time our food was brought to us, there was a stream of people out the door waiting to be served. Our cheeseburger arrived after the burger meals. The chips were cold and over salted. The burgers tasted like they'd been sat in a bowl of fat. Disgusting, I couldn't eat it. I left with my drink, still hungry. Terrible customer service, manager was there but clearly was more concerned with going home. Shall not be returning

Quick and friendly service, with a typical Mc Donalds menu, my favourite is the Big Mac..and a Mc Flurry ice cream...

Personally Im not to keen on Fast food outlets but now and again we do pull in on the Drive Thru on a whim, Pulled up at the order window and we were having a bit of a laugh about the advert on tv talking to the bin instead of the microphone Any way a Dull monotone phone asked what we wanted , Ordered two Happy meals ,Anything Else? Well we wanted Two Happy meals and I was tempted to order a Third one to Cheer this Lass up a bit.Sorry the Happy Meal was Very Good Value ,but have down graded to Average From Very good because of the not so happy voice so will give this particular one a miss next time

It it said that you know what you are getting when you have a McDonald's ,i went to the little window ordered (one chicken rap happy meal) as my granddaughter is very fussy and only wanted a rap, and a burger happy meal for her sister when you buy a meal in a box you expect what you asked for to be in the box ,when I got home to find a box of chicken nuggets no rap to say she was disappointed was an understatement .this is not the first time this has happened when will the staff listen.

We came here to have breakfast and go online to get tickets. The wifi was great! And the breakfast was great too, nicely put together, not thrown together, and good service for a McD's as well.

Been here a few times as my daughter can eat the fries and the burger without the bun is gluten free too. She has enjoyed the food every time, and the staff here are always cheerful, helpful and pleasant..keen to please.

This is the third weekend that McDonalds has made a mistake with our food.1st week- asked for plain burger it came with everything on it. And happy meals wrong.2nd week- hot mochas wrong, tasted like water.3rd week- no mcflurry when i got home.Phoned and was told to come back down.£1 refund thats all. And the most blank reaction from the business manager.Not interest in dealing with customers complaints. To busy watching her staff talking to eachother. Very poor check your food before you leave.

That's the great thing about McDonalds worldwide a location that is there anytime day or night for a quick burger or breakfast before speeding off onto your next port of call. Holyhead's franchised outlet was perfect for my myself as I was on my way early to explore Trearddur bay and wanted something fast and tasty to get on my way. I got it here on this well located crossroad to my destination.

I come here often and am always impressed by the level of cleanliness - even when it's really busy (which is quite often), there is always someone clearing tables, stocking up the condiments, emptying bins, wiping down tables, picking up rubbish outside - they never stop! And they do it all with a smile, always friendly and chatty and give wonderful customer service. Both to eat in and from the drive through, the food is always served quickly and always hot. I've never had anything out of place or missing from my order in all the times I've come, which I can't say for many fast food places! All in all, this McDonalds is clean, organised, and run by an efficient team who clearly work well together. Definitely recommended :)

We would of been of lost without this mcdonalds on our holiday, we visited here nearly every day for our weeks stay and my young children were very pleased with their food

Called in twice this month, and grilled chicken salad with bacon off the menu both times. The reason, no salad. And it was a lunchtime, not the end of the day. Plenty of fatty foods available.

Food is always on par to McDonalds, service is slow and often the orders are wrong. McFlurry's re usually short and have to be topped up.

We regularly visit this McDonald's cafe, it serves the best coffee in Holyhead, at a great price.The staff are good, especially the ones that keep it clean and tidy, and welcome the visitors.

We have only ever used the drive in at this McDonalds restaurant. Service and food has always been absolutely fine. I love the location, very handy for holiday makers, locals and travellers.

I am not a food "Snob" because we need food whatever it maybe to survive! I like good KFC etc etc, as and when the need arises!On occasion I pop into Holyhead for the most basic burger - a Quarter Pounder with Cheese and Bacon, NO salad & NO mayonnaise - it does the trick as good as any fine fare from a Gastropub. Absolutely delicious, tasty burger, well cooked bacon - a REVELATION.

Food the usual dried up burger but ok for a quick grab and go lunch. fries always seem to be a little hard from this restaurant, its not the first time I have had problems with the fires here.

I live local and have to say I'm really fed up of cold soggy chips. Getting a joke now. Otherwise.....clean place and friendly staff. Just sort the bloomin heaters out so we can have HOT food please

Stopped off before heading home to Manchester as treat. Ordered a McChicken meal and found the chicken burger was put on the bun without salad or dressing making it too dry. Someone there obviously couldn't be bothered.Apart from that the service was fine and (I hope) that was just a one off.

Holyhead McD is a very disappointing place. Burger was just warm and chips had a soggy appearance. Tried to get a replacement burger but was not able to get another as I don't think the staff believed me. My children were walking back to the car and had to walk through litter and broken glass.

I went in there on sat last week,I ordered what I thought was 2 delit salad baps,only to find 1 and 2 fries, I was very mad, I was disappointed I wish the manager was there.

Been living in Holyhead for a while now, have been to this MacDonalds countless times, especially since they put that monopoly board game on, however, each time it is the same, staff who ignore you and choose to serve other customers, staff who won't acknowledge you standing at the till, staff who are rude and don't listen to your order properly, so you end up with ice in your drink even when you specifically asked for no ice....three times. I ordered a meal specifically for the 9 stickers I'd get, my meal was missing three! The take away service is also just as crap. Although there are a lot of negatives in here, there are some staff members who obviously recognise that we are in most days and even ask if we want no ice in our drinks. So thanks to the nice staff who do acknowledge us and make us feel like our money is well spent. The others could learn a lot about customer service from them. Im sorry you work in a MacDonald's and have an attitude but don't take it out on your paying customers who are the ones paying your wage.

I'm sure this won't even dent the business they do but I feel I should still voice out my experience. Drive through story - speaker order girl doesn't here me clearly and voices he frustration at me. Not my fault you can't hear, take it up with your manager or get ears tested. Pay at the window - normal, on the voiceover to next customer I show my card and get the card machine held at me. I pay contact less and drive to the next window (literally no words)Collection window - the girl gave me drinks 1 at a time whilst chewing gum and blowing bubbles. As I'm putting the drinks into my car cup holder and turn back to her there's a boiling hot coffee literally inches from my face. She didn't say anything but I did. I said just let me know your coming in next time. She blew her gum. No words. Then she got our food and gave it to us before sliding window closed. No words. Standard McDonald's food with really bad service. People drive to KFC just down the road I know if I was in the area again I wouldn't go back
