McDonalds Bourne End in Dacorum

Have used this McDonald’s for the past 20 years and in the past year or so it has become a shambles. My last 15 orders or so I have had to park up in the waiting bay. This McDonald’s is not fast food anymore. Shame as it used to be the best McDonald’s in the area.

As a mum of 7 year old, we love to travel so we have been to many Mc donalds, but with a hand on my heart I can admit this is the best one !! (A41 services) Staff are very nice and helpful and the cleanness is spot on every time!

Why can’t they just check? So many times they just get the order wrong. Total chaos. Such a bad indictment on the franchise. They never get the order wrong in my favour either… the last one was missing 2 burgers and three large fries… guys it’s not rocket science. You are a disaster.

Visited today and used drive through. The guy on the intercom started shouting because he kept getting my order wrong. I shouted back and didn't finish my order. I drove around to the kiosk and told the staff there. The guy who I spoke to turned up and said it wasn't him I talked too. So as I continued my complaint he interrupted and told a pack of lies, proving it was him on the other end and that he had just lied about everything. He called the manageress and she was even worse. She continued the lie and said she heard everything and that I was rude. I asked her if everything was recorded through the headsets and she said yes. So I then asked if we could play it back and listen to see who indeed was rude but she declined. The staff are very rude and disgraceful and continued to get my order completely wrong. Shame on them all for unacceptable behaviour, I won't be returning to McDonald's with people like this working there, but sign of the times I am afraid!

Went to day to the drive through, as felt not well enough to sit inside Ordered and paid for our food. Then asked to wait in the numbered area. And staff would bring it over. After ten minutes and still no food Went in to find where our food was The lady apologised and handed me a bag that had been sitting in the side . Told her that I hoped it would not be cold, she said it wouldn’t be. Took it back to the car Well it was cold and disgusting! Didn’t feel like going back in again! Really angry about this! What a waste of a long journey and money!

I don't usually frequent a McDonald's as I try and eat healthily, however I fancied a cup of tea before work hence I popped in. Quite nice for a McDonald's but the reason I am writing this review is because of the staff, mainly Heather who made me relieved we don't have to use computers all the time (I use them for work all day, really don't need/want them when I'm off) but can still get some wonderful human contact from a lovely person with a genuine smile. I felt incredibly welcome and relaxed. Site review: would have been much better though if there wasn't contact loud beeping (I'm sure it must drive the staff insane too), the seats weren't hard plastic which make you slide around and are very cold on the back and the advertising wasn't literally in your face and blocking the (actually quite nice) view outside). Had to wait for our order in the bay. The order bays are absolutely tiny and difficult to get into. The situation is not helped by some people deciding to stay in the bays to consume their food and the staff doing nothing about it. We waited about 20 minutes for our food (it was not an obscure order). When it arrived my burger was cold. Part of my order was also missing. I went back and was told they hadn't started cooking that part(!). I could wait for another 10 minutes or so or get something else (not a refund though). I won't bother in future.

As I was staying over the road I ordered a Big Mac meal yesterday evening and the order was brought to my table. Staff were polite and efficient at that point. Unfortunately the burger was cold. I ate a small part and returned it with the fries and asked for a replacement. The staff member, rather strangely, took the burger away but left me with the cold fries. I waited for ten minutes or so before approaching the staff member again and asking about my burger. He said he had forgotten (it wasn’t busy in the restaurant). I asked for my money back. There was no question of the meal cost being refunded as he simply gave me four pound coins to cover the Big Mac. Very odd. The next morning I gave it another go and ordered an egg McMuffin. This time the sausage was burnt crisp and it was also cold. I won’t be going back to this very odd McDonalds.

Don’t know why rating is 2* because I thought the restaurant was very clean and tidy and the staff were excellent; helpful and smiling. The food was McD, so no surprises; it is what it is. Well done A41 McD 👍🏻

Visited Sunday evening for two McChicken sandwiches, nearly £8 for two. Drive through. They were dry like cardboard and didn’t taste very nice. The following morning we both woke with stomach ache and diarrhoea. Can only have been the burgers, wonder how long they had been hanging around? Two days of stomach cramps now.

Ordered via the app prior to arriving to avoid waiting with my little one. Pointless as we had to wait in the bays anyway,wouldn't normally be bothered by this but they forgot part of our order. There was a huge queue for the drive thru so decided to go in instead. Waited for over 5 mins and had no acknowledgement from any staff member (there was a queue forming behind me) I eventually got the attention of a staff member who I explained part of my order was missing. Their reply.. really, well what? I told them and eventually they returned with missing item. No apology, no offer of compensation , just plain rude. I explained I had been waiting for over 5 mins and the rest of our meals will now be cold, lady said just give her chips. At this point the bag was shoved in my face and off she walks. I know McDonald's is pants food anyway, but it's even worse when it's cold. Needless to say next time I'd rather eat my dogs food.

Walked up to Mcdonalds and they refused to accept walk in's as the restaurant was shut. Drive through only. Bit difficult when you don't have a car. Why couldn't I order as a driver does and collect my food? No not allowed. Very difficult, obstructive staff.

A friend stopped there with me with a medical exemption and they wouldn't let him in, despite what the law says.....HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE....The manager is unreasonable

Always ask to park in the grill bay, even if there is no one behind. I ordered from standard menu and they said Park in the grill bay, I said there’s no one behind me and I’ll wait and they said it will affect their stats so I have to move. This is well before COVID. Id literally only been at the window for a second when the told me I had to move. And then they came straight out with the food anyway as if it was ready to begin with. They are rude too and never add the dips that come with the dippers. Despite this I cannot wait for the place to open again.

I’ve always been happy with this McDonald’s it is what it is fast food western about it it’s a double sausage egg McMuffin we stayed in all day breakfast I’ll have that every time bacon roll deafly not worth it office are amazing staff was friendly and helpful

Was hungry after a long day and ordered a couple of cheeseburgers, medium fries and a large coke. The fries were piping hot and well salted, but the cheeseburgers were both lukewarm and looked like they had been sat on and thrown together. The coke had little fizz, and the awful paper straws make drinking from the cups dreadful.So a very mixed experience. I used the drive thru and couldn't be bothered to go back. The wait just ordering and getting the food was long enough.

Slowest service ever poor poor poor customer service.At the drive in on many occasions they have made me park up and wait for my order which takes forever and they never seem that busy!

Went to drive thru food wasnt fresh tasting at all had item missing from my order but had already left before I noticed. Mentioned to manager on second visit he wasnt bothered didnt even apologise also asked for big mac sauce they looked at me like I was mad and said no lol. Never had a problem with big mac sauce before when I've asked at other McDonald's,'

The service at this Mc D's is poor, to say the least. The staff do not seem to care and our meal and coffee were delivered with what could best be described as with attitude.

Worst McDonald's I have ever visited. Slow service and wasn't really that busy. Staff so sloppy. Messed up a simple pancake order. Had to go up to counter twice for things they forgot. Perhaps because they are in a service area they can't be bothered. We were staying in the Premier Inn so went in here for ease. Wished we had waited till I got down the road to Hemel Hempstead as their was another McDonald's there not far from A41.

I ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries from the drive though. They told me to park up and wait in one of the bays and I was left waiting for 15 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous considering how simple my order was.

Toilets were disgusting and the staff abrupt and a little rude. I did leave my purse in the toilets which a kindly customer handed in but the lady that handed it back was a little rude about it. We chose not to eat there because of the urine all over the floor in both male and female toilets

Got food from here recently while staying in the area, the guy who served me initially was very abrupt and rude, it seemed as if he did not actually want to be there taking an order, however the guy who actually brought my food to me was much nicer and friendly. The wait was long and there seemed to be a lot of staff stood around not doing much. The food order was correct and nice enough, but there are much better McDonalds out there.

The service was very poor compared to what we usually receive in an Mc D's. The coffee cup was only half filled and was lukewarm to boot. I am sure the management can do better.

We decided to get breakfast at McDonalds when staying at the premier inn next door. Self ordering machines were not working, staff didn't appear to know what they were doing, orders were being served with items missing and there was no explanation or apology for the length of time the service took. The branch appeared to be over staffed but the staff did not appear to trained to serve customers or prepare food (two of the basics for working in a restaurant). I'd recommend catching a chicken, waiting for it to lay an egg and cooking it yourself. It would be quicker than the service at this fast food restaurant.

Over several years I have used this branch, it's always been ok, but on a recent visit I found the staff unfriendly and the food cold. Yes it's a cheap stop, but all branch's should offer the same standard.

Popped in for breakfast. Recently refurbished so had high hopes. You order and pay for your food on a screen then wait for your number to be displayed .

Slow, not happy staff with bad managers. Take to long to prepare order. Next time I will look for different store. Thanks

I had been working late and just fancied a maccy d's Bourne End is my nearest one, went through the drive thru ordered a six chicken nugget meal and was so excited when i saw my favourite cheese bites with herbs advertised on the menu board i made a point of asking the guy who took my order if they were the the original cheese bites and he assured me they were. when i got home i discovered to my dismay that they were the nacho ones which i detest, i called MacDonald's and told them what had happened apparently the person i spoke to was a manager and she offered me a dessert she seemed put out by what i was telling her and came across rude and abrupt what kind of customer service is this as quite clearly it's false advertising on your part time to go to burger king.

This place was recently reburbished so I thought I would give it a try. I went to the counter to order which seemed to put them out a bit as you can order using the electronic screens.

Once in a blue moon, I'm partial to a Big Mac Meal when I'm in a hurry. So on the way to the cinema we called in for quick snack. Sadly the food was almost cold and tasted as if it had been hanging around for a good while. And there's nothing worse than old chips that are no longer crispy. So not a good experience. I should've known better.

Slow service , had food bought to table, then had to get every everything ing else, fries cold , real terrible outlet, wish i hadn't bothered, will not return. All our food was cold.

We unfortunately visit fairly regularly. Compared to other McDonald’s restaurants service is always slow. Expect a wait on the drive through as nearly always get asked to park there. Check your order as often items missing or incorrect. Frankly a worse experience inside since the new refurbishment and the self service terminals again with delays or mistakes. Hopefully it will get better

So much for fast food! A whole restaurant waiting for breakfast. One man lost the plot asking for money back. I sympathise. McDonalds pride themselves on their management training. Come here and be trained in how not to run a business!

popped in here Friday 15th june to have coffee & use toilets on our travels 9am only 2 men in eating,we went to the loo the cleaner told hubby to be careful of wet floor,well when I entered the ladies all 3 toilet bowls were filthy,i went out & told the lady who spoke to my husband about wet floor,she told me she had been in there 5 mins before so she couldn't believe that my statement was correct,i don't see the point of putting signs up saying they check regularly when they obviously don't!!!! absolutely disgusting,i don't know who im more disgusted with the cleaner or the women who have used them & left them like it!!!!! what a nation!

Impressed with the new environment but hopelessly incompetent staff meant exceptionally long delays at this 'fast' food outlet. Other failures included ketchup dispenser that was empty and an apple pie served though it was passed its eat by time. Then waited a further 10 minutes and three prompts for two Mcflurries. Very disappointing visit.

I have visited here numerous times and the service really does vary. Sometimes the queue is out the door and doesn't seem to move. The staff struggle to get the orders correct. The drive thru is always busy and I suspect that they get priority with orders. Today I was there a bit later than lunch time today and the service was good and the queue was non existent. Many times I cannot get into the car park which has an awkward configuration in and out. I cheat a bit and either park outside in the roadway or in The Premier Inn car park which is always empty. The food is usually the same. Sometimes hot sometimes not so hot with soggy chips. Well lets face it , its not a gastronomic experience

Ate here on a Sunday morning. It's what you would usually expect from a McDonalds; great service, good food, yum yum!

Very busy with travellers from the A41 but the queue was almost out the door and seemed to move more slowly than usual!

How hard is it to place the correct items from a list into a bag? Very apparently as yet again we've arrived home to find part of our order is missing... absolute rubbish, steer clear and go to the McDonalds next to Halfords in Hemel instead!

For the last time I used this site last week, 1/4 with cheese was cold bun hard double cheeseburger cold and on the way round to pay was a stack of crates with burger buns in them seemingly being stored outside ? Now I am sure it must have just been delivered but surely you would not leave them outside ?? Anyway been before and mostly bad and when I tried to complain was told oh well !!

Mi mujer y yo estábamos de paso y decidimos tomar un bocado para comer en el camino. El coche a través de la cola era terriblemente así que aparcamos y fui. Había una cola igual de horrendas dentro pero pronto bajó. Después de ordenar tuve 2 maletas y dos bebidas y pedimos algunas permitamos. Me dijeron que la vuelta de la esquina wrre aunque pude ver montones detrás del mostrador. Así que me las arreglé para compaginar mi comida y bebidas pasado las multitudes para conseguir algo de paja. En el camino de salida que fue seguido por un miembro del personal que sólo tenía una pequeña bolsa y no ofrecen una vez para abrir cualquiera de las puertas. En general, es, después de todo, dicho y hecho, un McDonald's. Ni mejor ni peor que cualquier otro. Es lo que es.

Not McDonald's but a bad franchise with poor quality service and food, don't bother keep going until you find a better place to eat.

Three visits in a month due to children attending local club, staff training is non existent, customers repeatedly ignored by a young woman out of uniform who glares at everyone, stock availability is always an issue, it is the worst run mcdonalds I have ever known. Clearly a management problem. Attitude is rock bottom.

A sólo una parada rápida para un bocado y café. Restaurante muy limpio, el personal fue rápido y atento y la comida muy buena y caliente y, como siempre, un gran café.

poco mejor que algunos McDonalds ya que la todas las reservas efectuadas a través de en coche es muy bueno y también hay muchos asientos al aire libre,
