McDonald's in Doncaster

TLDR; A not-so-great example of a McDonald's in the UK. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime, with plenty of parking and tables available. There is also a kids play zone outside which appeared to be open. We placed our order using the phone app and requested table serve. It took approx 15 minutes for the food to arrive at our table, with our hungry little monster getting stressed out all the while. When the food finally arrived there was no apology for the wait, and to make matters worse it was tepid, like it was left out on the counter all that time until maybe someone realised. As we waited we could heat loud giggling and gossip from behind the tills so I'm pretty certain they weren't rushed off their feet. I wish the disappointment ended at the food and service. Whilst eating we were constantly bothered by flies landing on and around us with staff simply ignoring them as they emptied the bins - they were in and around the whole restaurant. Think it will be our first and last visit.

To say it’s called fast food, the service is incredibly slow… There was nobody in the drive through when we arrived at 4:20am. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a pie, a very small order but who wants cheeseburgers for breakfast? Finally left the drive through at 4:42am. Doesn’t sound long but seemed ridiculous given there was only us there. Every single time we’ve visited this branch it’s been the same. They can’t get an order out for the life of them…

Upon a fair morn, as we did journey toward Conisbrough Castle, four weary travellers—myself, my Wife , two Boys, sought humble sustenance. And so, upon venturing that way, we turned into a McDonald’s, hoping for brief respite and nourishment. Alas, what cruel fate awaited us within. The air itself teemed with a plague of flies—a buzzing scourge upon light, floor, tray, and table alike. No hand could rest, no fry be eaten, no burger unguarded. We fought not hunger, but an invasion of winged wretches, relentless in their siege. One brave double quarter pounder once full of promise fell in battle, tainted beyond redemption by the swarm. Into the bin it went, a noble sacrifice to a failed sanctuary. We have visited McDonald’s many times before, but never hath it been thus. On this day, it was not a restaurant, but a battlefield. A grievous fall from grace. All the world’s a stage but this one served flies with fries.

Place absolutely covered in flies, iv never seen soon many flies in one place, sat at table batting away hundreds of flies, not hygienic, something needs doing, I know you're going to get flies around food but not to that extent, somethings going wrong

So inept to get an order correct starting to question whether they wipe their arse or their chins when they go to the toilet

Being asked to park in a bay to wait for drive through food everytime i order is ridiculous. Just ordered a drink and wrap of the day and yet again have been asked to wait in a bay when im the only person using the drive through.

This place is so this organised it takes them on average 25 minutes to get order ready, on top of that the staff is rude. Asked the staff member to open the outdoor kids play area, she said she was not working as it was before 11:00, but it was ok for her to seat on the slide and smoke vape. It took them another 30 minutes to open it after I complained to the manager. I understand you can be busy at times, but lack of politeness and basic people skills is what I can't accept.

Great staff and coffee always hot.

Has been open a while now, but has been a mistake with every order we've had. We avoid using this branch because of repeat problems, but timing and destination meant we popped in today. Update for Jan 2024, more problems with order, took a long time to correct. Branch worth avoiding unless desperate. Edit for May 2025, managed to be even worse. Ordered large amount of food on app, arrived 15 mins later to find not able to serve Quarter pounders, nuggets or dips. Customer service didn't care. Avoid this branch.

Far from the best Mds in the area, probably quicker to travel to a different restaurant. Unhelpful staff,

The service sucks, you have to wait 1 hour before they give you one burger, I tried Uber, so I waited even longer, the service is sleeping and ignoring, they need to be replaced, if I were the manager, I would have another tram

It takes too long to make simple meals. I ordered a PLAIN chicken mayo and some fries and a drink. Only my drink came, and i sat in the car park for about 20-40 minutes. Honestly, they need more workers. Might as well go in there and make it myself.

Absolute dump of a place I’ve stopped going even takes over 20 minutes to go through drive through every time and then they give you the wrong food. Inside is no better either cold food, stale bread buns. This place needs serious attention from senior management. If we want McDonald’s we now drive straight past this one and go to the Cortonwood branch which is so much better it’s like night and day. Do your self a favour and don’t waste your money here

What a joke, ordered for the family, they missed 3 meals, everything was cold, standards must be a joke

Me and my friends ordered some food and sat at a table minding our own business when a worker came over and spoke to us in a rude manner accusing us of ordering loads of sauces to our table. We explained it wasnt us and carried on waiting for food. The staff then continued to talk about us rudely, give us dirty looks and treat us in an unwelcoming manner. Do not recommend!

Although the food is occasionally warm, The staff are rude. Being young, they assume you are there to inconvenience and abuse staff. After going for a meal, we were accused of spam ordering large amounts of sauces by the manager, and after telling them it was the young teens here before us- they swore and gossiped between themselves behind the counter. I approached the counter and explained it was not us- to be further greeted by dirty looks and a rude, uncaring manager. This was at 6/5/25 at around 9pm. I recommend staff find themselves alternate employment- and perhaps some common decency and customer service. Management on this occasion was a disgrace.

Fantastic experience! Visited with a coach load of children and parents following a rugby festival. Laura and the team couldn’t do enough for us. Really impressed. Well done!👏

We visited this McDonald’s with 20 children as part of a rugby tour, and the experience was absolutely superb from start to finish. Despite arriving with a large group, we didn’t have to wait – the service was fast, efficient, and incredibly well-organised. The food was spot on and piping hot. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating – they were friendly, helpful, and really went the extra mile to make sure everything ran smoothly for us. Special thanks to Laura, Phil and the team for their outstanding support – you made our visit stress-free and genuinely enjoyable. Plenty of parking on-site too, which made things even easier with coach. Highly recommended for group visits – top job all round!

It's really come to this. Anything to eek more cash of the customer. Are the chain that hard up. I'm not wealthy. I buy McDonald's because of a childhood love for burgers. Can't afford Big or "Small Macs" anymore. I decided the cheapest way to get my Mc fix was to buy the triple cheese burger £2.99 of the saver menu. So I bought a few, sometimes more. Restaurant picked up on this and within 2 weeks moved the burger from the saver menu to the normal burger menu and charged more. Now £3.29. I don't think I'm going back for a few years now, shattered a lifelong memory of McDonald's. Well done McDonald's.

I’ve waited to to rate until I’ve had 6 or 7 visits. On every occasion something hasn’t been right. Cold food, long wait, cold coffee. They just can’t get it right. I’m not sure why they have two collection points when they never use the second either. I’ve just bought a Diet Coke, no food, and was asked if I wanted any sauces. 🤷‍♀️

This place is shocking. Last three trips order always wrong. Today got breakfast meal no Hash Brown that I paid for but cant go back as Im at work. Service very slow staff sloppy.

Want to wait half an hour at a drive through and have cold food with half a large fries. This is the place to be! There was no que when I decided to go through the drive through at 9pm on a Wednesday, thinking, I'm only ordering one meal. It should only take a few minutes, nope! I don't like posting about negative things, but if you are going to increase the obesity level and litter in my local area, at least be half decent. Serves me right. Never again. No apologies or explaination when I got to the window.

Put simply ! It’s terrible. The staff have absolutely no idea. We waited over 40minutes in the car park after ordering in the drive through only to be given the wrong food, orders missing , no drinks. It’s a joke. every time we go it's at least a 20 min delay and don't order icecream as they make them first so when your food is ready they have melted . This has now happened multiple times. Not going back anymore

Will not visit again. Called this morning. My friend ordered porridge and a latte, porridge Luke warm and coffee cold, took the coffee back for a replacement. I ordered the 4 for £5 cheeseburger, chicken burger, fries n coffee, the machine did not print me a receipt, someone had put the paper in incorrectly, when I received my order I had got cheeseburger, fries, chicken nuggets and coffee. Took the nuggets back and had to wait again for the cheeseburger, terrible service. Could understand it if they were busy but next to no one in when we ordered. Terrible service

Took too long and it’s cold im disappointed, my nan has just fell down the stairs thanks pal, would recommend again, hopefully this time she doesn’t fall.

Shocking! Food freezing clearly shows on receipt it was ready at 12.24pm delivered at 1.15l6 pm!

If I could put zero stars I would! Second order which has been wrong. I gave the benefit of the doubt the first time but the staff at Denaby Main McDonald's have proven they are absolutely shocking at their jobs. How hard is it to read what should go in a delivery bag and put it in?! Ordered a happy meal, 6 nuggets and a large chips. No happy meal. Now my little boy is eating the nuggets and chips so no tea for me tonight. Can't get through to anyone to complain and the app makes it impossible to speak to someone. Absolutely diabolical service. Won't be using this restaurant again. Much better at Rotherham or Cortonwood where they know what they are doing!

The timer kept changing so it was over the initial 30min prediction and it didnt come with the minecraft collectible for the big mac deal. The delivery driver was pleasant though.

My compliments to the morning and afternoon crew but as soon as that evening crew comes in its just a shipwreck, take control and at least pretend like you care! 😡 Edit July 2024: It's hard to tell if things have suddenly changed or it's because it was quiet but nothing but 5* to Cady. Welcoming smile and good communication throughout. Been here 3 times because it’s a 2 minute drive from the new house, each time thinking “different staff, might be better this time” Each time you’re sat there for half an hour waiting for your food and then when you do get your food, you McNuggets are dark brown, tasting like fish, The chips taste like they were made in a fish and chip shop and if you ask for no onions, they must think it’s funny to put a couple tiny onions in my burger for me to choke on. I’ve tried reporting this McDonald’s to the franchise for dangerous operations as they clearly do not change the cooking oil and I have heard from a former member of staff that chips, nuggets, and fillet-o-fish are all cooked into the same oil and it’s hardly ever changed. McDonald’s needs to close this one down because someone with a seafood allergy could become seriously ill

Always have missing items when ordering from this McDonald’s! Ordered a Philly stack meal, chicken nuggets and a pie - somehow managed to get my order without the burger?! Chips were barely warm as well.
