McDonald's in Watford

I’m writing this review on behalf of my mum as she was treated very unfairly by one of the staff. My mum went to this McDonalds on 9th of march 2024 during the afternoon. she was served by one rude dark skinned Asian maybe she was Indian but we are not sure .my mum has always been able to order food, tell people off if it’s needed and that’s what happened on 9th of march where this girl thought it was okay to make fun of my mum. She didn’t listen properly when my mum was ordering, that girl messed up her food order and drink order and top of that she went up to the colleague to make fun of my mum, she shouldn’t be working if she doesn’t know what customer service is!!! Fix up your nasty attitude!!

Always quick and easy. Food is as expected, normally decent portions and hot. The seating area is a little bland (most McDonald's are now) could be improved. Staff all friendly and helpful.

I stopped off at the drive thru for a quick bite to eat whilst out and about. Quick and easy ordering process to collecting and consuming the food which I would recommend to anyone who needs sustenance whilst on the move.

Strange encounter. For once the food (bacon mcmuffin, hash brown and oj) was actually hot rather than the usual luke warm. However, the store is weird. There are no stations to get napkins or red sauce. You have to ask for everything. Also, the restaurant was very cold and the lighting is far from inspiring

Food was about what you could expect for the price, however throwing cheese at the burger and thinking that'll do is a bit annoying

First visit and outstanding customer service from Juliet. She did not hesitate in helping other customers too. I shall definitely be coming back!

I have never given 1 star to a Maccies though have now. Chips were terrible. No receipt on either with food or machine. Service was numb.

Where to start.. ok, so whilst ordering at the self service kiosk nearest to the counter, I watched one of the Team Members bring who I believe was a Supervisor (white shirt, red cravat) from the kitchen area over to a table with who I believe was the Area Manager (casual clothes, McDonald's lanyard) sat down at a table. The Supervisor sat down with the Area Manager and they started talking. The Team Member remained standing by the table with her arms behind her back like a proud soldier. The two quickly stopped their conversation and the Area Manager said “you can go now”. As the Team Member walked back towards the kitchen, they both giggled and made a comment that I couldn’t pick up. She may be ‘just’ a low level Team Member in your little rank structure but that doesn’t mean you’re better than her. Just from this experience I got the impression that snobbery and in-direct bullying is rife in your business and I felt sorry for the poor lass who clearly takes her role very seriously. The wait time for food was around 14 minutes. 14 minutes of me standing there wondering what would come first, Grand Theft Auto 6 or my order. The food quality itself wasn’t great, most noticeable was the fries and chicken nuggets which were way over cooked. It surprises me really as you literally have an alarm telling you to remove the basket from the oil and you still manage to burn them. Whilst sat down eating my bullets and 6 hockey pucks, 2 firefighters walked into the restaurant who asked to see the Manager. It was soon evident they were here to do fire safety inspection. What I witnessed next was nothing short of embarrassing. So the Manager goes back into the kitchen and returns to the seating area with a blue McDonald’s Fire Log Book folder. The Firefighters are looking through this and asked to see a particular document. It was clear that this particular document wasn’t readily accessible upon request because your Manger was flicking through this folder like he was looking for a code to disarm a ticking time bomb. Whilst he’s standing there, sweating, another Supervisor (white shirt, red cravat) comes out from literally nowhere with a big chunky white folder with ‘McDonald’s Health & Safety - Fire Safety’ blazoned across the front. Again, the Firefighters are looking through this folder and aren’t finding the particular document they’ve requested to see. The Manager and Supervisor keep looking at each other for answers, both are like rabbits in the headlights at this point. I heard the Manager mention Asda itself would hold this document and the Firefighter stating that McDonald’s should have its own document. All this, was being done in front of customers and it was nothing but a comical disaster. At times it was cringe and I felt embarrassed for these 2 because they clearly didn’t have a clue what they were doing. For time reasons I had to leave so I didn’t see what happened next but it wasn’t a great look for a ‘professional’ establishment. On a side note, why doesn’t a single member of staff wear a hat here? Has your uniform policy changed that it’s no longer compulsory?

Had to go back into the restaurant as they forgot to add the French fries… 1 large portions… I understand it could happen to shy one but felt my soul was fleeced by the attitude.

Honestly the deadest McDonald’s I’ve ever had. Chicken in my wrap wasn't cooked. The nuggets tasted stale and the chips were cold. Not to mention the extremely slow service. Do not recommend

Staff messed up order twice, wrong drink given and food was incorrect. There’s food and rubbish all over the floors and tables. Staff didn’t care that order was incorrect. Kiosks are damaged. Very understaffed and flies are all over

I had to delete my previous review, which was a 1 star review so I could write this one. Ordered mcdonalds last night and as usall it was disappointing. I ordered a bacon double cheese burger and the bacon was outside the burger, I ordered it with no pickles and it came with a pickle.

Nuggets and 6x sweet and sour sause ordered for myself and 2 times mcflurry one for myself one for my dad. Both flurrys were missing when order arrived as well as 6x sweet and sour sauce (which are now 10p each). Ended up eating 20 nuggets with just one sauce and no mcflurry was disappointing considering the only reason I ordered was because they had the mcflurey available. After the order had arrived I went back on the order page and noticed that suddenly they had listed mcflurry unavailable. A phone call to tell me this and the offer of an alternative product (such as apple pie) would of been nicer than nothing at all.

What is actually so difficult about reading items on a screen and making sure those items go into the correct bags. Time and time again there is ALWAYS something missing or something wrong with the order its ridiculous

Typical McDonald's. Has a few tablets on the tables to keep children busy playing games while they eat. Avoid late evenings on weekends, has a bit of anti social vibe.

Went there about 11pm Friday the 13th, ordered chicken selects and chips. The selects were stone cold as were the chips, they also looked like the oil needed changing. The tables were very dirty. Customer service wasn’t very good, just seemed like they wanted to go home!!

Staff are having poor customer service behaviour it’s ridiculous only youngsters on their phones with miserable behaviour and attitude treating you like they’re paying for your food, very slow the order was ready in 10 min and waited for another 5 for someone to bother ….the sandwich is good to feed pigs cold and disgusting as pictures reveal 5.99£ paid for whattttt??? Every time I had to go in there was the same experience, I have no words to describe it honestly the last time my wrap was row meet I had to bin it…. Very disappointed 🙁 next time I should ask for my money back and compensation for my time. Free advice, is needed to invest in a management system and employees.

quitest macdonalds ever yet the workers are extremely slow, don’t pack thing’s properly either everything had fallen out the bag. only good thing was despite being slow the workers were relatively polite

I can’t believe I have to give a star to leave a bad review. Literally the slowest service ever. Burger was burnt and cold, took it back ended up standing there for another 15 minutes and when I mentioned it to them they had forgotten about it and the second burger was as bad as the first. Couldn’t be bothered to go back so just left. Will never eat at McDonald’s again

Not the best McDonald's. There is always missing drinks on the menu, and always a massive wait for your food. Seems quite popular especially for the breakfast menu, so the wait then is the longest. Food is the usual quality for Mcdonald's. There is plenty of parking space.

Table service dismal, had to ask for paper napkins, sugar and milk, for the tea, bacon roll soggy with ketchup all over the wrapper, pancakes served with a pressed paper fork which collapsed after 2 minutes, would suggest going somewhere else to eat

Never been to this branch previously. Have walked past a few times but finally gave in to the fast food craving. Came shopping with friends and we thought we’d grab a quick fast food meal. We ordered on the self service tills and that was a smooth experience. Store was a bit messy with food left uncleared on tables and on the floor. Put me off eating in store. Seating area was almost full, just the dirty tables unmanned. We are in the car. Fries were also dry and tasted like they’d been cooked and left out for ages. Coke as standard for McDonald’s I find tasted watered down. I had the veg burger which arrived warm but the burger bun was stale. Sadly couldn’t eat my food and had left the store so couldn’t complain either. My mate ordered a cheeseburger with no gherkins but it had gherkins in it. Luckily she wasn’t allergic just hated the taste of them. Next time if I’m getting a take away I’ll have a look at what they’ve given me to avoid situations like that. First time I’ve had a really dissatisfactory experience in a McDonald’s food wise. Maybe it was just a very hard day for he staff that day.

Absolutely disgusted with the the quality of service at this restaurant. I suggest not using this place. I will be getting in touch with McDonald's head office about a complaint earlier. Go to KFC. This is upset me so much I'm going to make it my mission to upset that McDonald's as much as I can. How rude can they be. I'm going to put it all over social media and your star rating is going to go down to zero by the end of the week. I'm not going to bother contacting McDonald's and wasting my breath I'm just going to mess your star rating up starting Monday.

Was planning to dine in with my kids but whilst we waited 20 min for our food we realised how dirty the place was so we chose to sit in the car. The chips were soggy, my coke was flat (tasted like syrup) and I served by a rude front of desk. I will never use this branch again.

THE most depressing music on earth being played during lunchtime today! Awful. Not exactly enticing over lunch.

Absolute disgrace, ordered for takeaway, receipt not given by the machine. Ordered a Big Tasty with bacon, guess what, no bacon in it, but for more fun, there was 2... 20 nuggets with 4 FOUR dips, yes you guessed right, no dip. Burgers are dry like a desert. Not recommended at all

I came here after doing a bite of shopping at Asda in watford after ordering my families food at the self service screen. I was informed by a member staff that half my order wasn’t coming wasn’t really given a resolution I quickly became irate with the lack of compassion but Clare (manger) came to see the problem and resolved it straight but may have to wait. Sat back down and waiting for my food Clare came and gave me a receipt with a message asking me to ask for her the next time we came in. Well I came today however she wasn’t in but was then introduced to Sebastian (manager) who knew all about my incident and proceed to ask what I would like and said then same again please and to my surprise gave the whole family a free meal which was great surprise as I want expecting it. Even down to Emily who brought our food was brilliant. So thank you guys

I have been to this mcdonalds in Asda many many times and usually a nice manager and staff great you but now there is a new manager Ed .I won't go again until the new manager moves on. Very rude and unprofessional and on his phone while I'm trying to order Was going to spend £20 but when I saw his attitude I spent £5 and ran out of there Saw him being rude to other customers too Next time I will check if he's there I will give it a miss!

Cold food... Ice cold. My chicken sandwich was like taken out of the freezer. The guy that served me, he's shirt was coming out of his pants... Very untidy and looked horrible. Also... Do come with your tissue paper... It's expensive.

Found a small, dark hair in my sons burger. He has light blond hair. Obviously not his. Told the lady in her 30s/40s she was really apologetic and offered a different meal and ice cream

Ordered two meals this evening from the Mc Donald’s within our local Asda for home delivery Maximum distance half a mile from home Food arrived within time slot But was totally stone cold Burgers were extremely dry and there was more cheese stuck to the boxes than actually in the burger That makes me think that the burgers had been sitting on the warmer for a long period and the cheese has melted into the box Drinks had no gas and tasted as if they had been watered down No sauces or napkins in bag Felt like the whole meal had been thrown together Totally disgusting and only fit for the bin Will not buy or order from here again and in no way would recommend Waste of money

Great customer service from all the team..the manager Seb was fantastic in helping me an order for 60 kids..all done with ease, they even helped us load in to the car.

The service is not that bad but unfortunately the food was horrendous, most of my fries that I ordered were black and it tasted as it had been microwaved last week and kept it in covers. Including the burger that I ordered was dry. *WARNING* I do not recommend.

It was really easy to order and our food came quick.(only one time we waited long was because we had a large order) The items were reasonably priced and its not a overly crowded place.

Understaffed, poorly managed, staff doesn’t seem to care much about customer service (probably underpaid), cluttered, receipt printer out of paper. The thing is if management would just pay up a little more in wages and staff their store fully then the restaurant would likely prosper. The McDonalds business model works, management here is just failing at execution.

Once again incomplete order, after I arrived home I realised there are no chips, called the restaurant and spoke with the manager who gave the usual resolve, come back and get them! Awful customer service!

Never never never again, ordered 6 nuggets and 2 fries were waiting 14 minutes to recive the food, and another woman said she was waiting just under 20 mins. A disgrace. Not so fast food!!!

Bit of a mission to find and get into

Absolutely shocking service ! The Mc Donald’s is run by teenagers no older then 25 it seems . Took 15 minutes for a mc flurry which they said they can’t provide due to the machine requested a burger instead that also took 10 mins and I gave up waiting and asked for chips instead . Absolutely shocking service and there was 15 orders waiting by time I left. Can’t call this a fast food chain at all

Hope this finds you well. I feel compelled to report something quite outrageous that happened to us today. I ordered a delivery from McDonalds Dome Watford via JutEat at 11am this morning. The food arrived on time but upon opening the Big Mac container, my husband saw that the meat patty was partially eaten, either by a human or a rodent of some sort. Based on the bite marks, the former scenario looks more likely to me (Please see attached photograph) This photo is 100% genuine - the burger arrived in the state you see in the attached picture. Obviously my husband would not touch, let alone eat this burger. I contacted JustEat about this issue and after lots of waiting around, finally got through to an online chat agent. After a lot more waiting around, he basically replied saying that JustEat would not offer any compensation for the reason that “All restaurants have their own recipes and cook in their own individual style”. Needless to say I will never order from this restaurant again. How could something like this have slipped through the net?!??

These guys don't even deserve a star i am allergic to eggs asked for no mayo half way into my meal at home realised there is mayo in my burger had to drive all the way back and they made new ones but what a extra head ache, no compensation for allergie failures or drive back too them

Food on floor and dirty tables, chips everywhere under tables customers stepping on food. Asked staff member to wipe our table as previous people spilt food, and pointed out food on floor everywhere. She wasnt really bothered half heartedly wiped table, i asked her if she had any disinfectant spray, to which she replued "oh do you want me to get a spray?" Bad training, poor staff, dirty place.

As a McDonalds it is pretty average as they go. The background music is far too loud for my liking and the touch screens do not respond very well and often do not print a receipt. However, the staff are always very helpful.

20 minutes for a burger, I have time to make a bad review.... Really really slow service,they don't care about nothing!!!Other McDonalds even if its busy,you get your food in max 10 minutes,not like here....in that time i would be somewhere else...

Been in this McDonald's several times and yet they still haven't improved over the 3 months that they've been open. Service is consistently slow.and even though most McDonalds can handle a busy lunchtime this one is consistently unable to multitask. Not only this sometimes you don't get enough quantity of food I.e mcflurrys underfilled and half the chips you ask for. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if it happens once or twice but the main issue is that happens time after time after time again.

Slow awful service. Staff ignore you when you speak to them. Had to wait 10 mins for 3 drinks and then they were cold when eventually served. No apology staff just not interested in customer service will not go there again!!!!!
