Honestly the slowest McDonald’s I’ve ever been too. 20 minutes for a breakfast meal at 7.30 there was literally no one there. It’s supposed to be fast food chain!

After a £50 order and getting home with it I found one of the burgers missing... had to go back and risk coming back to cold food I waited for 5 minutes and then got served I told the guy I wasn't given an item and he went off to get it... so I waited... and waited and within that time two other people asked if I was Obeing seen to.... after waiting some more the ORIGINAL GUY who asked me in the first place came back and asked me if he could help... what?! So I then reminded him what I was there for where he proceeds to go and get it instantly! There obviously is absolutely no organisation in the place... its not the first time and I should have checked my order but I had a car full and tiny bags so couldn't really go through them very well. Needless to say my food was cold when I got back. Very disappointing

mcdonalds has changed since delivery drivers get priority over people queueing for half an hour for there order more concerned about them which is wrong bad management system

Good spot between Newcastle and Carlisle. Good hot food. Nice and clean. always a standard choice when kids are hungry.

Been many times but really really slow . Went through the drive through today thinking it would be quicker but was told we hadn't ordered a coffee which we clearly had no assistance offered . Really Really disgusting . Defo won't be back

McDonald's 'not so' fast food. Think it's probably the worst McDonald's I've been in. Really slow service, chips were terrible. Ordered a cappuccino but was given a luke warm black coffee instead, when asked the staff for a cappuccino which I ordered, they exchanged no problem but would have been nice for any sort of acknowledgement/apology.

Service extremely slow and poor, I waited 25 minutes for both my orders to be to be wrong then would only correct one of my orders the servers breath stank more than his attitude

Not the best Mcdonald’s i’ve visited. Had usual problem logging in (that’s three consecutive Mcdonald’s where the app didn’t work so couldn’t redeem the points)! The coffee was awful - more like coloured hot water. Apart from that it was pretty mediocre.

Pleasant staff, but, I ordered an egg mcmuffin to take away, when I get to opening the bag there's no egg, just cheese and bread??? What's going on?? How does that happen?

The milkshake machine is never working.

Absolutely disgusting state, I've never seen such a dirty restaurant. Grease and food stuff all over pretty much everything, tables, chairs and the floor. Understandable after a very busy period but at 8AM there's no excuse. edit as of 3/6/24 ordered a meal at 20:11, still sat waiting at 20:30, so much for fast food. more interested in serving drive through than eat in. then to top it all nobody knew how to refund.. that's it. enough is enough. never ever again......

This McDonalds has gone from bad to worse. So many things unavailable all of the time, long waited and cold food. This restaurant appears to be driven by profit over service as the milkshake / Icecream machine does not appear to work with low customer numbers. After several visits over several weeks, all around lunch time through the week, milkshakes and McFlurrys are not available each time the staff give a different answer, but mainly it’s because the machine is broken. If it was a new car you would have taken it back and got a new one. The only possible answer is that it is not cost-effective to run with the low customer numbers during the week at lunch time. Unless you can convince me otherwise…. Disappointing, if you fancy a milkshake, or McFlurry do not go here!

The first half a year at least was full of very poor experiences, almost exclusively the service. In the time since I left a very negative initial review, the service has definitely improved. Quicker, friendlier service and more consistent food, so credit where it is due. One issue still remains, the opening times on the website and the app are different and it is often hard to tell when it will actually be open, the app still says it is 24 hours, and I don't think it has been for many, many months, if at all. A lot of improvements could be made in this regard.

Had to wait 12 minutes for our order on the drive through. Staff member had said they were short staff. I had a person with Autism with me who struggles to wait hence why went through the drive through. Food was good though.

The only macdonalds that can have no big macs and never have mac flurries working. Staff are half asked and don't want to be there.

Never get the order correct, i mean ever. Tried to give them an opportunity to shine, but they wouldn’t take it. Don’t drive away from the window without checking your order, it will be wrong or cold Paid for on the app and was told he didn’t pay the correct amount really and then realised they had put two Big Mac meals in rather than one , was told to dive back around and pay at the first window No sauce, asked to tomato and was told you mean ketchup lol please get me out of here They desperately need competition, that would shake them up That reminds me the milkshake machine doesn’t normally work

Not enough staff, long waits, and drink order was wrong.

The next time this branch manages to get an order right will be a first! The food is fine, the kids that work there are friendly but seem to have no attention to detail or just don't care. The term "fast food" does not apply here either. How hard is it to read an order??? Get your act together!

The lady that helped me when the service screens mucked up was very helpful, stood with me nd checked my order herself. Yous need more staff like her coz all the kids were clueless and all that happened was I didn't get a receipt

Skeleton staff so breakfast took forever to arrive. Sat and did a few work emails, got myself another coffee. NEXT WEEK I get a letter telling me I had stayed longer than permitted and slapped with a £100 fine!!! Do not go here, if you do give them your money, ram the food down your gob and get out as quickly as possible....

Horrible. I collected my order drove across to Wentworth car park to eat it. It was stone cold. The burger had obviously been cooked a while and left sitting on the hot plate.

Complete and absolute utter joke. Ordered a Bacon Roll Meal with tomato sauce, waited 20 minutes (should have checked the order before I left really) just about to take a bite..........Brown sauce! Took it back, had to wait another 20 minutes for the correct order......However I did get a full refund (which I asked for)......But besides the point. AVOID.....Update some months later, check photo. Does this look like Coca-Cola with no ice to you?

Very busy. A little annoying there was no milkshake at this outlet everytime we have called they aren't making it

I'd like to say that this McDonalds was equal to others, but unfortunately Hexham McDonalds has stooped to a new low of desperation, poor service, and poorly engaged staff. Simple things like, if someone buys a tea/coffee offer milk, you've already hidden it behind the counter and 70% of drinkers take it with milk ... so offer it. There are more annoying things that are simple and easy to fix.

This place is so filthy, tables full of rubbish, food on the floor no sanitiser, no Ketchup, and the meal came out cold, had to ask for it to be reheated Oh yes we had to clean our own table

Arrived next door at the Travelodge late one evening. Drove past and saw the sign saying open 24 hours. Went round just after 10pm only to find it closed. How hard is it to advertise the correct opening hours?

Worst McDonald's I've used. Never once visited and food has been ready. I've had to be parked up every single time. So this results in half your meal being warm and the other half being cold as we can't seem to cook everything at the same time. School boy error by not checking everything today, getting all the way home and realising the dips I asked for aren't there. To top it off, fries must have come out of the fridge with how cold they are, possibly even have been there since Christmas Eve.

How hard is it to get an order right cheese dippers and chicken nuggets missed off my order. Wasn’t till I got home which is 14 mile away when I realised get your staff sorted.

I ordered a sausage McMuffin while on a very long travel and the burger is literally UNCONSUMABLE. Absolutely disgusting service. Absolutely disgusting. Definitely will be passing you guys next time 0* effort. Avoid this McDonald's. PS I'm still very hungry and now very very annoyed

Went for drive thru today, drive thru ordering was seemless HOWEVER I consistently get things missing like sauces, I have to routinely check the bag before I pull away to check, this time they managed to completely forget to give me a drink as part of a meal and a chocolate cookie, I tried to call the server back to ask for them but they ignored me, as I had my sick little one in the car I couldn't leave the car to go inside to get it sorted. They gave me one drink and a mcflurry at the window, but then made me wait 10 minutes in the bay for the rest so ice cream was melted before I even got home to eat it. Very poor experience, lack of organisation and apparently basic reading skills, no quality control at hand over to be seen

It is apparent that the official method of constructing a burger is to frisbee the patty, cheese and bun from the opposite end of the kitchen in the hope of making something resembling a burger.

Oh man, what can I say, I’ve got a Mcchicken sandwich with barbecue sauce. I can’t remember the name of it it was on promotion £8.50 what a rip-off - it was probably about 4-5” inches across. Absolute rip-off - never again!

Everytime I go to this McDonald's the staff are always lovely and very apologetic if anything isn't right or if the food is taking a little longer than usual. I have never seen a huge problem with the cleanliness as when there is a big mess it's because of the customer not the staff and I'm aware they can only clean up so quickly with how busy they are and with shift changes. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes which is absolutely fine although I can't say the same for several impatient customers I've witnessed, clearly they have never had to work in a busy food industry and don't know how to behave towards the staff as they can only do their best.

When it’s not busy it’s great. Clean dining area and friendly staff. Car park is ample and drive thru is a breeze.

Totally useless, can never get a takeaway order right. Was given wrong coffee a hash brown short and a bacon muffin instead of a sausage one. That was just my last order. They forget to give you fries with a meal, give you the wrong burgers and god help you if you customise your meal because odds on you’re not going to get it. At the minute you can order a big tasty as long as you don’t want the burger with it, so you can have a cheese salad sandwich for the price of a big tasty. Why sell a burger if you can’t have the burger with it.

Called in for breakfast, nice and clean, service a little slow but the food was great, not your standard greasy sausage and egg McMuffins and the hash brown didn't stick to its little paper bag like others

This has to be the worst McDonald’s in the country. The orders are always wrong, the machines are never working and the food is rarely nice.

Slow service, burnt wrap and half filled fries… but front of store kept very clean.

New style restaurant. Very clinical and translational. Food was average.

The best maccies I have ever had everything was hot,really hot not lying it was hot so it didn't get stuck in your throat never experience that before.

We found this brand new McDonald's in Hexham. Plenty of parking space, more than sitting but well located and very busy. Our order took a little while but was served with diligence and very good manners and apologize for the wait. Cleaner working an non stop basis and everything looks brilliant including toilets.

Avoid if possible this is not fast food. we waited 30 minutes for 2 orders. Our orders were basically made in front of us when we asked about them and were cold. Part of our order was a large hot chocolate which was half empty and more like a small . Also they didn't not apologise.we have came here multiple times and each time it gets worst. It is disgrace to the local area. They need to get their act together. All the workers are young and unexperienced. The table are not clean and no one is maning the counter. If I could give 0 stars I would *Edit* So it has been 5 months since my first review and I unfortunately nothing has really changed when you go through the doors you don't really know what to expect sometimes it can be good but mainly generally bad. This is the worst mcdonalds I have been to in the North East and probably all of england. *btw:it is only open 24 hrs on a Fri and Sat

How are they so slow? Customer no. 004 and staff out numbering customers 2 to 1 but still took nearly 10mins to serve a hash brown and 2 hot chocs?

Edited review previously 5 stars.this branch has now been open over a year and continues to be utterly hopeless. Frequently wrong orders, missing items, very long waits and if drive through never, ever take the right lane, on 4 occasions now I have waited for someone to take my order whilst the left lane merrily serves customers who arrive after you do. 90% of the time, you have to park and wait for the drive thru usually because they have run out of fries. They then forget you are waiting and serve the fresh fries to others, then when you eventually get your order, the other items are atone cold. Napkins are NEVER added to the bag by default, there are never any milkshakes on, and whether your fries have salt on them is a lottery. Worse, when errors are made there is never an apology, and the error is remedied grudgingly. The only reason why they are still in business is they have a monopoly on such food in the area. Hopeless, utterly hopeless, and the issues have been with the management amd leadership at the branch since it first opened. Today's experience, was typical and was the last straw which is why I changed my review. Come on Granite Restaurants, sort this out.

Food was ok all of the modifications done correctly which is a god send when you have picky kids, restaurant could of been cleaner and outside bins were overflowing which let it down.

I ordered a wrap and they made it wrong. Went back to ask for a swap or refund and they said no! Spent £3 on that wrap😂

In-store fast service, food was lovely as not had a MCds for 4years! Friendly helpful service. Thanks for being great on our travels up north 😁 happy kids, happy parents 🥳

Fab customer service but one burger missing from order

Ordered food and items were missing from the order, 1 was a double big mac with bacon and it had zero bacon on it. When I queried about it they said there was bacon on it even though I took it apart to check and there was no sign of any bacon at all. Staff just don't care about there job so they shouldn't be doing it. Will not be going back to that McDonald's branch ever again, should have never opened a McDonald's in hexham it was DOOMED! from the start.

Terrible service at the Drive Through today, I waited over 15 mins in bay 2 for a bog standard double cheeseburger and when it did arrive it was virtually cold.

Order wrong, milkshake a half filled mix of strawberry and vanilla, ceaser chicken wrap awful and missing some ingredients,this store needs fixed, sooner go different McDonald's further away

I found myself starving in Hexham at about 12 noon on Friday 7th of July. I decided to give Mcdonalds Hexham one more try ! I will say outright that for the first time ever,they got our order right ! The staff were polite and the food was delivered in a timely manner ! A big improvement! Keep it up ! See below where they were on previous visits. I've upgraded my stars ! We went here prior to a concert. Initially they took our order incorrectly. Then they gave us the wrong order ( someone else's order) then they took 10 mins to get our fries to us......By which time the burgers were cold. Very disappointing and not the sort of service I expect from the pioneers of fast food ! The staff need more training, that is down to poor management. It needs sorting ASAP if you want the newest 'culinary addition' to Hexham to be a success ! Went again for breakfast. Not busy. But they still managed to get the order wrong ! Again ! Useless! 30/12/2012.

I know it's a stretch to complain about a macdonalds but have visited three times and every time my order has been wrong or food poorly made.

Service not great, slow and more often than not there's something wrong or missing from the order - but our little one likes going and it's the only one locally. Don't go when it's time for a shift change. You'll wait 10 times as long for your order like we did this evening, which quickly reverted to a few minutes for the family next to us once they'd all got settled in. Tell your customers they'll wait 25 minutes if you can't handle orders during a shift change, simple as that. Give people the option to choose somewhere more convenient. Giving the place a wide berth now until they're either trained or managed properly. I'd rather do a 20 minute drive to the next nearest one.

The worst McDonalds food I have ever tasted - tasteless lukewarm pap - a very poor advert for other McDonalds outlets. At least the service was fairly prompt and the place reasonably clean.

Waited 40 mins for my order and it was a crispy wrap not a grilled one. Nobody serving at counter. No apology.

Again they never have what you ordered! Big tasty with bacon! No bacon no order receipt no sugar no milk you always have to ask for them! Tonight a cold cup of tea! Been in the morning and have had to wait for either that sausage patties or eggs to be cooked and this this is around 0630 when the breakfast stuff should be ready! There doesn’t seem to be anyone competent in charge just a bunch of under paid kids who needs training up on how to run a restaurant! This really has to be the worst franchise McDonald’s has!

Lovely staff and good food I don't understand why people say it's dirty when the people are the ones who make it dirty not the staff but the staff are always really kind and I always get my order in 2 or 5 minutes

Worst McDonald's every over 30 mins to get served a happy meal ,staff running around like they don't have a clue. Not to mention all the mistakes or missing food from orders since it's been open .

I've given this 5⭐ as we were late on finishing a long walk and we managed to get an hour, in here, to have, much needed, food before it closed at 11 pm. Parking is 90 mins so plenty time. Four⭐ for atmosphere as a couple of customers were a little worse for wear. They left their table in a disgusting state. Not the staffs' fault but they were sitting close to us.

It's seems to be a bit of a gamble if your order is correct and the restaurant area could do with a good clean
