This place is still appalling! The children who work here are more interested in talking to each other about their social livee and what happened last night than concentrating on their job. As a consequence drive thru orders are taken inaccurately, then what goes in the bag is usually wrong and often looks like it has been constructed by a three-year-old with no arms and legs. Then you have to take the gamble as to whether you get parked up and end up with stone cold food that is usually wrong as well. What makes matters worse is that the "managers" are barely any older than the infants doing the rest of the work and as a consequence they have not really developed and understanding of the importance of doing your job properly so are ill equipped to motivate and drive their workforce.

Items missing again. Incorrect item from Happy Meal. Cold food and squashed burgers. Order left on door step with no effort made to knock or ring. This branch of McDonalds is absolutely shambolic as they have never managed the correct order in 4 attempts. Will no longer use this branch. McDonald’s is grim to start with but Polegate staff manage to plum new depths of ineptitude.

Awful service from manager, Saskia. Facts - Ordered via the app for my son, then decided whilst in the queue to get myself something, so ordered a meal via the intercom. Got to the payment window, told them I had two orders (one being an app order), was asked to pay £2.99 which I did. Got to collection window. Was given first order. Told them I had an additional order. Server was about to hand it over, then a colleague said 'wait, it hasn't gone through yet'. Waited about three minutes (with a huge queue behind me) for it to show as processed. Found confirmation of both £2.99 payments on my Google Pay, showed server. They then got manager (Saskia) over. Manager didn't apologise for wait or anything, just asked me whether one was an app order. I confirmed, once again, that I had two orders. She said one wasn't showing as paid still. I showed her Google Pay payment screen. She said that payment hadn't gone through. This was 5/6 minutes later now, with huge queue, the food was sat there - £2.99 worth of food (Blue Light deal) for all this agro. I asked what I should do. She asked if I had a payment card she could 'take up to the terminal' (not sure she should do that???). I said no, only my phone. She said the only other thing I could do would be to park up... I said 'no thanks' and drove off. What shocking, unprofessional service for a £2.99 meal. The manager's attitude was awful and she held up the queue for over 6/7 minutes.

When my partner said she wanted to get McDonald’s from Polegate, I reminded her that they always get the orders wrong. She said, they can’t get it wrong everytime. She was wrong. When we opened the bags, none of fries we ordered had been included and a burger had a long hair through the middle. This Mcdonald’s branch never seems to fail to be terrible. They clearly also don’t seem to improve despite a pile awful reviews. All topped of by nonchalant reaction when you complain. Avoid this branch! There plenty of others in the area .

I ordered through the app, and the delivery arrived, but some items were missing. I called Uber, as is the policy, who refunded me £3 for a £6 burger because it was part of a meal. I complained to McD's HQ and got a voucher. I ordered again the very next day, using my voucher, and the delivery arrived, but some items were missing again, I called Uber, and they refunded me £2.58 for £5.50 burger cos it was part of a meal, I called the store, who advised calling Uber, who in turn said this is the value McD's set out to refund, got another voucher. I ordered again using my new voucher; the delivery arrived, but the items were missing. I did not call Uber and instead complained to HQ about how bad this place is. This is a shocking service, and McD's and Uber have some sort of scam going on here, because the refunds, not only my own but also those you see across the internet, are just not in line with what the food actually costs. McD's give you some crap about how you need to call Uber, but in truth, Uber has only delivered what they handed in the store, and many folks are left in some little void where they have missing items and, on top of this, are shortchanged on refunds. I advise anyone who has missing items from their delivery to first contact Uber, then get what you can on the refund, then contact McD's HQ, complain, get the balance back, and demand a refund on your delivery, too; you can also contact the store and HQ, and I advised you contact them every single time you have a problem with your delivery or Drive-Thru order because they only way they are going to solve this issue is by having to deal with numerous complaints, having to dish out free vouchers left right and centre and people calling the store. This is just laziness, incompetence, and a complete lack of care. It is outrageous that this happens to so many people, not just in this store but across the country. The most concerning aspect of this is the little void between McD's and Uber, where the customer is left out of pocket and has to spend time arguing about the fact they have been shafted.

Your McDonald's is terrible we asked for extra ketchup they gave us none they forgot my tropicana and when I've ordered from them before they gave me a hamburger with no burger in it just the buns. This is our local and our sons love a McDonalds. I presumed this huge, worldwide chain of fast food restaurants would have amazing processes in place to ensure quick service and no mistakes. Not so, not here anyway. Polegate McDonalds is beyond belief when it comes to mistakes (1 in 2 of orders on average has something missing or the wrong thing in it, and I am not exaggerating. And we only go about once a month). Last month I ordered on the app and sat at the click and serve for 15 minutes. I ended up going in to check the order was received (it was, they were just behind. Queues out the door, mayhem). Today we ordered lunch on the app and tried the drive-through instead. There was barely a queue, it really didn't look at all busy so we thought we were safe - we had agreed that if it looked like madness, we just wouldn't bother. So I order on the app in the drive-through queue. Arrive at collection window, we're handed 2 McFlurries. Sit there for an eternity, then the person says 'really sorry, the rest isn't ready, you'll need to park up' expecting us to take the two ice creams with us. Which would have been liquid by the time the rest of the order arrived, hence we handed them back and asked for fresh ones. We worked out there were 8 cars waiting for orders, including us, at 1.10 on a Sunday. It was total chaos plus, of course, by the time we worked out how many were waiting, the queues were out of the car park and down the road. Get the order home: the 2 dips ordered are missing. Of course they are, when will we learn to check what they give us? The previous month we got a random cheeseburger instead of what we ordered. Customised McFlurry? It's pot luck as to whether you can get one at all and, if you can, order a topping and you may get a different topping, and order no topping and you may get a topping. If you decide to go here, make sure you have plenty of time, don't expect your food to be hot ever, and check you receive what you ordered. I honestly have never known a McDonalds as chaotic this one. If our sons weren't so partial, I would literally never go back. They are a total shambles. They need to close and have a full-on training week or something - it's like nobody has a clue there.

An absolute shambles, ordered from Uber eats at 10.10am. well within the time for breakfast, kept waiting, then after about half an hour got a text from our Uber delivery driver, saying he doesn’t know what the hold is as they are serving people inside and from the drive through. At 11.30am, 1 hour and 20minutes after we placed our order McDonald’s cancelled our order. This is not the first time we have had problems with this branch, consistently items missing from your order, this is obviously a very poor managed and staffed branch. I just won’t bother again!!

I use this McDonald’s instead of the Lottbridge drove McDonald’s as they are normally more efficient in this one. Beautiful food and friendly staff. Never had any major problems - I see these other reviews and wonder why there’s so many Karen’s around. This is fast food, check your order before you drive off.Well done to the Polegate team :) :)

Went to the McDonalds drive through on 27th October (polegate) and got home and took a bite of my “veggie burger” to realise it was in fact chicken.Absolutely disgusted, I called up and complained and explained I had been a vegetarian for 20 years, the guy on the phone very apologetic but this didn’t make up for it. He advised that if we came back he would replace it and our own order for free... my partner had already eaten his so this wasn’t really good enough.My partner went to collect the burger from the manager, Sean who didn’t even apologise and we were also told that we would be offered another free meal at a later date, this never happened, this is not the first time they’ve got our order wrong, in fact it’s happened twice but never been given a chicken burger!Absolutely disgusted and when I finally got the burger it was cold and awful. Always have to park up even for normal meals ! They never seem to put ice in your drink and when you ask they either get moody about it or take your drink back and put two ice cubes in there ! Or they have none they never have ice in this mcds apparently! Staff don’t even welcome you at the window just blank you there to Interested in speaking about there night out ! When your food is ready be sure to receive it with lots of fake tan and nails I think some workers think it’s a fashion show ! Sauce is in the bag until you look and can’t see it ! Terrible

My husband went to the drive thru here and what meal we received was by far sub standard especially for a brand as well known as mcdonalds. I have posted some pictures of the burger that I received below ... my husbands was not much better. The bread was stale and old ....the burger itself was cold dry and burnt like it had been scraped off a hotplate and thrown together with no care whatsoever. Half the meat from the burger was missing (I assume its still stuck to their hotplate). It looked like a dogs dinner and was most certainly NOT the standard that I expect from such a well known brand . ... DO NOT eat here .The staff obviously dont care what they throw at you .

I know it’s a Maccy D’s and not a 5 star restaurant but this place is a disaster! I don’t come here often but when I do I always wish I hadn’t bothered. The drive thru double lane system doesn’t work as you always have to park up and wait for even regular menu items. The one at Maresfield is just as bad. Inside the restaurant it’s just chaos - people getting annoyed because there are lots of staff but the food takes ages. The order screens are clearly designed to hurry things up but it just takes even longer. Will avoid next time and go to KFC for my fast food fix

I visit the Polegate McDonalds frequently and I think you should be made fully aware that this restaurant falls far short of my expectations and I am sure falls far short of yours. It is about time head office sorted out the repetitive problems that customers are subjected to on most visits. These problems include, incomplete and incorrect orders, cold food, the inability to cope with the number of cars going through the drive thru meaning numerous people are waiting in the car park for their orders which can take 15 minutes to arrive. I have had enough of this, especially when other McDonalds like Bexhill are a pleasure to go to. Please, please inspect Polegate, look at the comments on trip advisor - this restaurant is damaging your reputation. Regarding my visit yesterday, the order was missing 6 chicken nuggets (I had to return to the restaurant to sort this out) and the fries were cold and limp - it is simply not good enough and if you do not take steps to improve Polegate I will be very disappointed.

The service is getting slower. Usually have to park up for up to 15mins for our order. Fries are often cold and had a bonus of a hair in the chicken selects today. Not sure what’s going on but poor management seems the likely candidate. Idiot designed the parking bays in the waiting area as staff have to walk right round the frontage and take their life in their hands when crossing, should have put the bays on the right so food could be quickly handed over without risk to staff. ( However, always get the idea that McD are interested in profit before customers and staff, look at the staff turnover, how often do you see an old face in Polegate McD).

Everytime I have visited this mc Donald’s whether it be drive away or eat in the service is horrendous! So slow and absolutely no urgency considering it is meant to be fast food!! I don’t understand why they can’t have simple things ready... for example today only order fries and 2 double and cheeseburgers from the drive thru and waited over 10 minutes! It’s is absolutely shocking and ridiculous... some organisation and management clearly needed at this McDonald’s!!

Having driven a while we needed the loo and Polegate's McDonalds loomed into view. There we found clean toilets with no need to interact with the staff to use them. Outside there are three disabled parking bays and plenty of other parking. There are automatic doors, one inside for handsfree draught free dining.

Went it to grab family a breakfast, there was a large queue with no one on the tills someone had to ask manager to go on tills, finally got someone to serve and the lady in front of me ordered 6 drinks and this took them 30 mins to do! All staff were slow, the lady said to manager I have waited 30 mins for 6 drinks and she replied no you haven’t! She was rude and slow and she haven’t a clue on how to speak to customers! I was very shocked by her actions and will not be returning! You need to all think about the management and customer service skills! And training staff so they know what they are doing!

Terrible had to send my sausage muffin back twice as was cold then my large latte was very short measured and pinapple stick had todays date and very ripe late for work no time to complain again will stick with lottebridge drove in future

I have had a takeaway on a few occasions here. But omg they are so slow on the drive through.... The food is standard McDonald's, but the service on the drive through is dreadful, I would say average wait is 10 minutes. So don't go if your in a hurry.

Food took over 25 mins for a simple order, and only came after prompting staff repeatedly. When it finally arrived it was delivered by the shift manager who’s customer service skills can only be described as non-existent. A total disgrace!

Possibly the worst McDonalds l've ever used. Wether drive through or eat in outrageously slow service and usually problem with orders. Unfortunately the only one on my regular route so do use it a lot but when l do use another location it highlights how bad polgate MC D'S is.

went through drive thru and ordered a filet o fish meal and big tasty meal. Went to the collect window the girl was so busy flirting with the boys telling some boy cailen or whatever his name is that she loves him. Whilst flirting with 2 or 3 other boys that I waited ages for my order with No acknowledgement or apology which was cold. That I arrived home and the fries are missing for both orders. Maybe if she spent more time focusing on the customer service side of things instead of chatting with her mates then I wouldn’t have a ruined meal!

The Polegate McDonald's is a prime location drive-through restaurant but let's itself down with terrible service. I visit the restaurant probably twice a month and every time the order is either wrong, I'm made to park up or machines are broken. Even at quite times the staff struggle to piece together a simple meal. Today I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and the burger must have been constructed by Stevie Wonder; the pickle and onion was ON TOP of the burger and it didn't have cheese.

Today I timed the service for the Drive Through. Pulled straight up at the electronic order point. No one in front of me. One minute for a member of staff to acknowledge me. Order placed, straight round to first point where you pay. Two vehicles in front awaiting meals to be delivered through the hatch. I then waited 10 minutes from time of order placed to receiving a Burger Meal and Chicken Sandwich meal. Seriously with only two cars in front. Sadly this is normal now, hence timing it before the review. There hasn’t been a faster time in months here. Normally you have to park up and wait for someone to bring it out it’s so slow. Many a time the chips are cold.

We ate in this restaurant in Spring 2017. There wasn't a lot of tables to sit at. Although our visit was more out of convenience - we were staying at the Premier Inn across the road and had a long tiring day and didn't want to wait for the service in the Treacle Mine. We saw the disgustingly dirty ipads. You would think that if they were providing these in a fast food restaurant, where you use your hands to eat, they would at least keep them clean!

Slowest service going. Cold food. Some of the staff look uninterested in their work. You end up waiting at least 15 minutes just for one cheeseburger no matter what time of day it is. Fast food? Definitely not. By the far slowest McDonalds in the area.

Due to family emergency had no dinner so by midnight was very hungry. Drove to this McDonalds and got 4 x Burgers the only draw back is that it's virtually cold by the time you get it home (3 miles away) could do with some better insulation for travelling

We visit this McDonalds a few times a year and always receive good, hot food served in a timely manner. The staff are nearly always great, the restaurant itself is usually clean and tidy and the location is good. Would recommend a visit.

Menú estándar de mcdonalds. Ambiente, este es un restaurante muy concurrido de carretera situado justo afuera de Newhaven. Es un lugar estupendo para una taza de café, bocadillos para niños y loo descanso para un par de libras. Como un extra que tienen teléfono/cargadores ipad en la parte trasera del restaurante y un pequeño parque de bolas para los niños. En las mesas para los niños para los niños hay pastillas para entretenerse, aunque han sido rota por el los últimos tres visitas. El personal es siempre amable y respetuoso, aunque nos detendremos aquí una vez al mes no pedimos una comida de adulto. Su McDonalds. . .

Over 5 visits To this Mcdonalds in the last 9 months with our grandson and each time have found cold food,wrong orders, from veggie option tp milk shakes, the Kids computers are always out of action last visit there were 2 reps doing office work completely taking up 2 tables papers and laptops all over the tables not accepticableWE WONT BE GOING BACK THERE AGAIN A RIGHT DISGRACE FOR A MCDONALDS they want a good shake up!!!!!!!!.

Used Drive Through today and was manic as lack of spaces to wait for your meal. Having got our take away we went off and found a lay by to eat said McDonald's didn't provide us with any paper napkins or straws for our drinks so good job I carry everything apart from kitchen sink in my handbag as you never know when things are needed.Food was good shame about service and my PA wants to know what happened to Big Mac as sizing very small now.

We visited there on Mothers Day after a day trip so I didn't have to cook when I got home. We ordered and waited 30 minutes for our food. When our order was ready it was cold. We had the new signature burgers with bacon, the bacon was barely cooked that it was raw!! I've not done this before but I took the food back. When I pointed out that the bacon was raw I was told that they didn't cook it!?! I was given two new meals, which again were slightly warmer but still cold, again the bacon wasn't cooked and was raw. A truly awful experience and we won't be going there again.

We were in transit and were Hank Marvin so we thought Try McDonald's as it was there. Service was ok the Argos style process meant the order was cooked fresh. My partner had not been in a McDonald's for years and was surprised to find she enjoyed her quarter pounder and fries as did I .

I went through the drive through this evening at 22:33 and ordered 2 signature burger meals. Paid and went to the second window where I was asked to park up so far usual experience absolutely fine. 20 mins later there was still no sign of my food so I ask the young boy taking orders to the cars how long he thinks my order will be. He comes back and says your next. He then takes food to 3 other cars and I ask again politely how long will my order be. He said he would check. By that point I had waited 30mins for 2 meals. I went inside to see if I could find out where my meal was and asked one of the colleagues inside if he could see how long my meal was going to me. He went through the door and asked the manager and to my amazement the manager and a young girl at the ice cream machine where stood there saying "noone waits 30mins for food here" the manager then comes through the door and says what did you order. I explained and she straight away without looking into anything said yes your order was given to another car so that why u have waited so long. She then said il start cooking it now. In between this time of me stood waiting for my food. The que of complaints was unbelievable. There was staff just stood around talking and nothing being resolved. After waiting another 10 mins the manager came to me with a bag of food and went "do you want a free pudding's" I declined as by this point I just wanted to get out of the restaurant. At no point did the manager apologise or seem to deal with the route course of not only my wait for the other customers around me too! That manager who was running that store tonight was running it into the ground. I think McDonald's should be aware of what poor service not only has she given me but given alot of over customers tonight!

Dreadful experience order the food at 6:20 pm yesterday it got delayed to 7:35 pm. We called the restaurant say the food was coming it got to 8:30 pm and still no order and no food delivered do not order from this place warning
