McDonald's in Gateshead

I excited for my favorite burger. I ordered a classic plant, and I was really looking forward to that melty cheese on top. But when I took my first bite, I realized something was seriously wrong. There was no cheese. Just a plain burger with all the toppings, but it felt incomplete without that gooey goodness. The worker who did this will pay.

Drive through bit hit and miss would advise everyone to check order before pulling away from window, sitting in is ok

Missing part of my order, stone cold chips and didn’t get a response upon trying to call them. McDonald’s app said ring to complain with them however as mentioned didn’t answer the phone usless place honestly

Visited McDonald's Blaydon with our granddaughter as she loves a McDonald's breakfast, for this being a fast food restaurant, fast certainly wasn't our experience, and this could be down to the volume of delivery drivers coming in for orders ,very disappointed.

Waited half an hour at the click and serve slot, chips and nuggets were stone cold, and both burgers were missing. Went in branch to sort the order out and customer service wasn't great. I don't expect a grand gesture but a sorry would have been nice rather than a resting b**** face.

I have been quite a few times every time the food is either cold or they miss parts of my order the chips are like they been sat there all day like rubber when eating absolutely disgusting 🤢

4 touch screens only 2 work, not the fastest McDonalds, always seems to be not enough staff. Don't think I've ever had my order under 15mins.

Grabbed a quick breakfast, is what it is. Staff friendly at an early hour is always appreciated

No longer fast food and the quality seems to get worse. 12 plus minutes (21 minutes for a Big Mac at Blaydon!? 16 minutes for just fries at Consett!?) for a burger and fries at a restaurant famed for burger and fries. You wouldnt mind waiting 12 minutes if the food was fresh and hot, but it seldom is. Mcdonalds can't cope with the extra deliveries along side the drive through, app and restaurant orders. The delivery drivers that hang around the carpark and within the restaurant are loud, pushy and have terrible habits.

Ordered from here a few times and had a problem every time with order. Actually messed up an order of two cheeseburgers and two chips tonight - brilliant 😂

Spot on quick service just had a milk shake, which was lush.

Absolute disgrace as always. Ordered chicken selects and got cheese dippers in a selects box. At what point will this complete shambles of s restaurant address the serious issues they have with incompetent staff and dreadful customer service?

Shakes and ice cream machine has been SOL for a few weeks now!?!

The staff are excellent. Extremely helpful and friendly. The food is just standard McDonald's, but there's no boxes, trays, or food on the floor left after customers have left. The tables and floors are cleared and cleaned immediately. Bob is brilliant. Makes your visit become a nice experience 👌

They never have icecream or milkshakes. One best things about the place. Apparently because they can't be bothered to clean the machines the night before. Pretty bad management. Avoid use Prudhoe or metro centre.

Received someone else’s order through just eat so currently having my dealings with them as well. However, upon calling the restaurant to inform them of their mess up both myself and the delivery driver got blamed despite having the correct receipt just the entirely wrong food in the bag that can’t even be eaten due to allergies. Whilst it’s not great that we haven’t received our food, the attitude from the woman on the phone blaming myself, the customer, “are you sure you put your order through correctly” to then blaming the the driver “he’s picked up the wrong bag”. Unfortunately it’s the incompetence of the staff who are unable to tell the difference between bacon and sausage/egg. Incredibly disappointed with the way I was treated.

Awful. Burger was cold and wet, (how can you make a burger wet??) Food on the floor under the feet of the staff, and order was wrong originally. Horrible

Short version: They get stuff wrong all the time, especially on deliveries. And they're usually more stingy with the Mcflurries than others. If you're driving and have the time just go to Westerhope, or Metro Retail Park, they're usually better. Always check your order properly, 95% of the time you will not get the sauces. Been going somewhat regularly for about 13 years now. The success rate for getting an order right I think is standing at around 60% overall. In the last year or two for delivery good luck, they get orders wrong more often than right. Much better off going in person so you can sort the problem straight away than get a "go talk to uber" message on the app. They also tend to get orders right more often in person, but don't get your hopes up. It has always deeply baffled me how so many incredibly simple mistakes are made so often here. Every cafe and restaurant I've worked in you'd be sacked for what passes as exemplary performance here. Many times I watch the staff read the order on the screen to check it, I read it too, I see it's correct, and they go ahead and hand you something with 3 burgers missing and a happy meal you didn't order. To be fair the general consistency of the food & its assembly has improved in recent years. Although I've now noticed a trend where they are prepping your order but waiting on a burger for 5+ mins, but first thing they do is they'll serve your mcflurry, regardless of the weather. It's lovely pulling in to the waiting bay watching the last solid pieces of your mcflurry disolve in to the rest of the melted remains, as you wait for 2 plain double cheeseburgers for 15 minutes in 20+ degrees. The fact there is still a simple mistake on all their receipts since 2010 or earlier shows precisely how on the ball management are/have always been.

Just been this morning to the blaydon one ..ordered a porridge through the drive through ...got to my destination to find NO SPOON OR SYRUP!!!! REALLY?????? LOST FOR WORDS

Complete & utter joke. Worst 24 hour McDonalds I've ever been to. 1 am in the morning, and being run by 2 completely clueless members of staff. Drove to intercom, was told to go to next window to order, drove to the next window which was closed, sat there for 5 mins, no service! Drove to the final window, and they seemed bemused I hadn't ordered or paid already! This process took 20 mins. They then had the gumption to tell me to drive around again and waste another 20 mins of my life because they're both simpletons. If their service was this appalling, I can only imagine how awful their food would have been. Bullet dodged!

Maybe the worst McDonald’s in the north east. Do yourself a favour and go to any of the nearby restaurants, metro centre, westerhope or team valley.

Everytime we go, something is always wrong. They don't prioritise the right orders as we sit and watch many cars and uber drivers being sorted first before we do. We wait average 10-20 mins each time

Ordered on mcdonalds app for delivery... burger missing in meal refunded £2.13 for missing item... ive paid delivery as well and burger on its own is near £4 plus delivery fee. .... total rip off

Going through drive through no communication to customer went to get a big mac large meal and mcflurry whta I got was medium big mac meal and a mcflurry bloody disgraceful then when we got up to the payment window the colleague was chatting to his mates what I think is absolutely wrong in every way I feel there should be more of a communication between the workers and the people sort this because am not coming back if you don't

Quick fast service even for collect in carpark food was hot latte was a latte and not a white americano like others do or a coffee thats ran out of milk and topped up with hot water. Keep up the good service

Ordered online via the McDonald’s app. The only thing that was good was the lovely Uber eats driver Abdull! Pancakes were hard and stale Missing syrups! - ruined both breakfast. Coffee was freezing? Like made with cold water Never ending issues with this store! Especially if it’s a delivery as they just don’t care!

Orders always incomplete and waiting times are horrendous waiting more than two hrs for a delivery from a fast food outlet is shocking obviously can't do a suitable rota to accommodate increase of demand! Have a word!

Had to be the worst McDonald's I've been to in the world. Constantly getting orders wrong. The majority of the staff are unhelpful and rude. The food generally isn't hot or particularly freshly cooked. The burgers are dry, the fries are limp and soggy. On my most recent visit I had to make 2 payments at the drive thru as the cashier charged me for the wrong order.

Once again drive through give out wrong food . Approx 09.30am sat 16th March . The girl at final window needs retraining, and an attitude change, disinterested, miserable and picking up any bag of food to hand out . I don’t think she likes her job!!! Always check your order , they’re too busy seeing to delivery drivers for online orders .

Just ordered a chicken nugget happy meal and when I got it home hey presto two fries and no chicken nuggets. Come on its not difficult

Everytime I have went to this McDonald's they always either get order wrong, miss something off or the food is not fresh, cold or just bad. I have had to resort to going to either westerhope or prudhoe McDonald's as they are always great, blaydon seriously need to sort their food and service out it's a joke

Ordered a breakfast wrap and suspicious that they’d forgotten the bacon, after checking, I highlighted this at the counter. While I was offered a new one which would have been too much to eat, quite a rude member of staff accused me of already eating the bacon and then asked me to rummage around the wrap, lifting everything up to prove there was no bacon. They even thought a 1cm square of crispy egg white was ‘the’ bacon! Very poor quality due to missing ingredients & need to sort out staff customer service capabilities. Demanded a refund and it ruined what should have been a Friday morning breakfast treat.

Ordered a quarter pounder meal at the drive through and a couple of meals for the kids. Was asked to pull over and wait in a bay. Out came the food which I was asked to check, instead of the quarter pounder there was a Chicken sandwich which I questioned. The guy wasn't interested in really listening, stomped off and came back for our receipt. I handed it over and he disappeared. Came back out just handed my receipt back and said "bye bye" waved and walked off. Our receipt did say Chicken Sandwich but that wasn't what we had ordered at the drive through and was made to feel like we were trying to con food out of them. Just rude.

When it's right it's right but sick of getting the wrong order through the drive-thru, I mean not even a little wrong I'm talking the complete wrong order, like getting nuggets when you order a burger. Even when the receipt is correct and it's a quiet night, and it's been happening more and more frequently.

Problem with McDonald's now is they prioritise delivery, more work goes in to that than preparing food for the drive thru or restaurant, since the pandemic the staff don't get a second to stop, witch results in long waits and missing items on almost every item. This location is particularly bad. Ken is great though.

Mcondalds is not always a favorite but very quick in this location. Service fair. No overall problems with this location

What an absolute disgrace!!! Ordered at 17:15 didn’t arrive until 19:45 and it’s stone cold!!!! It went in the bin and I will be requesting a refund!! Will never use again!!! UPDATE - I received a refund of £7.38… pathetic 😡

Ordered a double sausage and egg mcmuffin and was missing half the muffin.

This restaurant continually misses items from even the simplest orders. The food is always cold, soggy and slapped together. Seriously check everything before you drive home. They will have got it wrong.

Every time I order a extra patty on my mcplants I never ever get them! For both me and my partners meal! We do check the bag because 9 out 10 times things are missing and we have to pull up and go in but from now on I'll be checking my burger too!

I ordered a McDelivery, 4 items...1 missing. Driver Raj left at back door instead of handing to me. Unaware it was there so the 3 items I got were cold and inedible. I complained to UberEats they refunded the missing item only. Not happy about paying for an order that was cold and inedible and paying a delivery charge of £3.99... shocking service.

Despite the food being good when it arrives, every single order has had something missing. Sometimes an entire meal, last time we order 4x large fries and none of them arrived. No partial refund, no call asking for substitutes, nothing. Must've spent a total of £20-30 on food that just never showed up that McDonalds have just pocketed. Don't order from them. Go in person or go somewhere better.

Mc D. Serves the better part of Newcastle. Just at the City centre. From my estimates, over 50 customers in 1 minute are served meals, deliveries and take outs from this particular McDonald's eatery. What other place you would rather be? Huh

I tried McPlant today and it's freaking delicious! I'm not a fan of vegetarian food, but this "burger" is worth the money. Staff is very friendly and helpful.The place is very clean and tidy. Lots of parking available
