McDonald's in Northumberland

Probably the worst McDonalds I’ve ever used. We wanted some drinks, so thought we’d use the drive thru for what should be a simple quick visit. Ordered ahead on the app. On arrival was told they hadn’t got any Coca Cola??? Went round to collect what they did have, just sat at the collection window….eventually get given order, no apology. This outlet is without competition in the local area, but it’s still very poor in my opinion.

It's what I expected from a fast food establishment

It was bloody cold, AC turned up way to high. Also Halloween decorations up but no Halloween Happy Meals, still on old stock so kids were disappointed.

Very busy but didn't need to wait long for food.

The team are nice and friendly, the restaurant is clean, the food was fresh. Wish I lived closer tbh cos the ones in Leeds are awful.

Disappointed with the breakfast muffin tiny and lacking in flavour

Like my frappes but finding the ice is not crushed enough & large pieces of ice are left.

Didn't have my dad's favourite donut flavour in stock after he laid for his order, so they allowed him to return later with me so I could have a mcflurry instead. Very friendly staff!

Great place and staff are very good. This location is kept very tidy , the staff come around and make sure the tables are cleaned.

I think McDonald’s have broken their service model. With all of the mcdelivery, just eat and other food delivery services seeming to get priority, the paying in person customer gets short shrift.

Fast service, really exemptional food. It might be the best McDonalds in UK as per my experience. I hope they keep this quality of service and food.

Fast service on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Order all correct, tables freshly cleaned and sanitised. Great staff with friendly service :) and milkshakes available! 🫶

Brought over an old freezing cold coffee with my order. They did replace it when I went back to the counter though. No issues other than that.

First stop of the day after traveling from North Yorkshire, very busy but friendly staff clean environment, the wrap was the best I've had in a long time tasty chicken and salad very crispy and fresh 👍

Absolutely disgusting, ordered wraps for a good few of us, the lady came out says, he has your massive bag! Then the gentleman comes over and says here's all your wraps. So rude, had to leave part of my separate order as the app had a glitch.

The drive t through extremely slow we sat in it 20 minutes and when we got back to holiday home 1 mile away they had missed a bag of chips from a meal and were stone cold

Terrible slow service. Screaming kids everywhere. No grimace shake when they had it on the menu board which is false advertising. Travelled all the way to Alnwick to try the drink since it was the closest mcdonalds to us but was MILES away. Had to sit in lengthy queue for ages even though we hadn't ordered anything since we only came for the drink. Waste of time and money. One star wouldn't recommend. Wish I could give it no stars. Not worth the wait.

Fries always unseasoned and half filled, and ALWAYS without fail missing items off an order…..you have one job

I was genuinely surprised at how quick our food arrived at our table. It was all hot and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in this mcds was actually nice, compared to some. We enjoyed our meal and were grateful to have a spot to eat before we headed back home

Good McDonald's with good food but I had to wait 15 minutes and, when I asked for mayo, the person that attended to me said that they didn't have.

Disgraceful service,went through the drive thru for 3 sausage egg McMuffin meals with 2 extra hash browns.had to park up for 25 minutes,then got the wrong order brought out,off he went and came back 10 mins later,checked the order,looked ok,but when we parked up in another location to eat ,they hadn't put the two extra hash browns in and one the McMuffins,was open with what looked like a chunk missing out of the roll.totally disgusting .avoid if you can

Yes, my partner and I called in to Hawfinch Drive Maccie D's near Alnwick en route to the castle. Our fries arrived almost cold and not up to the standard I expect, nice hot golden fries! Our burgers were fine, but it's not only here but many other Maccie outlets that don't give out hot fries! Rather disappointed yet again I'm afraid! 🤨

One of the Nice McD around A1. Easily accessible and parking available for around 20 cars. Food is good and the quality is also acceptable

Spalling and rude service. Missed items from the order and very reluctant to correct this. Management need to change their attitude.

They always seem to mess up your order even when you tell them you have an allergy

Mostly, my orders are fine. However, over the years, I have found missing items and one time a big chunk missing from my burger 🍔 which is why I check everything before I leave with my order. Staff need to pay more attention to the accuracy of all orders before they leave to avoid negative feedback! Just saying...

One of the best ones in this area

A little slow service and not the neatest of presentation on the food but I guess that’s expected of McDonalds. Made up for it with the amazing interior design, friendly staff and the fact that there is a children’s play area. Just off the A1 and EV charge points over the road so a very convenient stop when driving from Edinburgh back to Durham. Have stopped here multiple times and will be stopping again!

Staff EXTREMELY rude. We ordered one thing and got another ( not a problem in other McDonald’s rectifying mistakes usually ) but at this McDonald’s the women started rolling her eyes, slamming stuff down and started arguing. No manners, no respect, awful service from McDonald’s

The grills must not get scraped down after every run as the grease on the breakfast muffin is disgusting the sausage muffin wrapper is literally dripping in grease also the time tags in production bin are always out I've noticed on a lot of occasions which is disgraceful as food is only meant to be stored in the production bin for 10mins max there is also a food holding cabinet in the kitchen where the same rules apply now I purposely ordered chicken nuggets one day and just as I thought they had been stored to long in the cabinet as they was dry as sticks and hard this place needs a good kick up the arse and I truly hope they get a mystery dinner one day cos this will sharp sort them out I no everything about what goes on McDonald's as I used to be a floor manager at store 981 I'm sure the staff that read this will no this already as the things I've pin pointed you would only no if u work or worked there also the amount of staff without hair nets on is ruthless and the customer service skills well they literally don't have a clue how to treat a customer with respect and that is mainly the managers and some crew members

Alnwick McDonald's always gets it right. Food is always nice and hot. Friendly, polite staff.

How do McDonald's get away with their false advertising, the size and pictures of the burgers ard massive and you always see actors holding them with two hands, yet in reality they are one handed 3 bites big!🤬🤬🤬

Well presented, clean premises. We ordered in branch via the automated order machine. The food was prepared promptly and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Just make sure you don't look like an eejit and go in the FRONT door and not to the secured side door (a fire exit) like we did and about 5 other families did while we were there! 🤦‍♂️

There were alarms going off. All the time, the staff were rude and unpleasant and reeked of energy drinks. The toilets were a disgrace to society and clearly needed a lesson on deodorant! Floors were sticky, and tables were messy an absolute nightmare. Very disorganised and very disappointing even if it is just a service station. Avoid!!!

Terrible. This is meant to be fast food. It should not take 30 minutes to come after ordering.

Went through the drive in. Had to park up and wait, as did everyone around us. Food was cold and they had missed a burger off our order which was very disappointing as 9 year old was without. Too far to go back and we had gone there after a day of travelling and being very tired.

Not impressed. Been here for the past two visits and my orders have been messed up on both occasions. First time I had ordered a double quarter pounder and they only gave me a single, despite literally putting it in a double quarter pounder box! The second and most recent visit they had literally not given me half of my order. Waited around 20 minutes before I got my food only to find that they had completely missed the fries and a 9-piece chicken nuggets. Luckily I spotted the missing fries, but by the time I got home I had only then realised that they had missed out the nuggets. Also on this occasion, they had put in the sauces that I wanted, so they KNEW I had ordered it!!! How missing half of an entire order even happens, I don't know, but now I feel robbed thanks to this place, and probably ordered the most expensive meal I'll ever buy from here, not for any of the right reasons. Perhaps this is a message from god to stop me from eating the food they serve here; heck, maybe I'll live a bit longer if I do stop. I did get some vouchers off customer service so after I use them up that'll be it for coming back to this place for a while, management and staff training seriously needs to be reviewed. Leaving 2 stars does feel a little too generous, but admittedly the problems I've had haven't been much of an issue up until recently.

My first McD's experience in about 18 months, and honestly I was fairly happy, Drive thru was speedy for a Sunday morning and they delivered the holy grail of Maccies... A perfect order with nothing missing!!

Food was served piping hot unlike Thirsk were their chips are cold . Staff were helpful and cheerful.

Probably my last time trying here. Utterly dreadful. I've been a few times and it's awful every time. The fries this last time had been reheated then left to go cold, which was baffling as it was lunch time. Avoid.

Been to the drive through, lady took the order. Been given the completely wrong food after travelling 6 miles down the road. Don't understand why this mcdonalds does not give the correct food. Best to go inside and order on machine to get the right order.

We stopped by on our way to Scotland from Northumberland, very convenient and in such a good location. The food was excellent, I changed some of the options on my breakfast and the order came fast and correct. The establishment itself is clean and well stocked with sugar, stirrers, sauce etc.

Small portions here chip packs we're only half full and it's getting a little expensive for cheap food

There was no room at the inns of Alnwick during a pre-Christmas visit to the Northumberland market town. So this (wise?!?) man suggested a visit to McDonald's. Service was good and the food was okay, satisfying us ahead of the journey home.

Take away so it was only my own company!

Good simple stop on way north, next one is just off big roundabout in Berwick 30mins North.

Self service is the norm now. Card machines are labelled with Amex but still do not accept. One staff member was doing everything with the same pair of gloves on, defeating their main purpose of avoiding cross contamination.
