McDonald's in North Hertfordshire

It's been a while since I've been here. Staff are helpful - cleaned table for me when I asked. My only problem was that I ordered Americano coffee but when it came it had milk. Realised too late so just had to leave it. I'm not a fussy person but I just can't drink cow juice - lactose is my kryptonite (or kraptonite, if you know what I mean).

Slow service, cold food, miserable staff. Not great

It's normal busy here at the weekends, and struggled to get a table, but there was 5 of us. Pleasent staff, and food was good.

I’m sure I don’t need to say very much, as it’s a McDonald’s. But, this one has a large car park that’s easily accessed, the place itself was very clean, and the food turned up promptly. If my (much younger) friend wants to go there again next time we are in the area, I won’t say no. But please, McD, do us veggies a nice BIG spicy burger of some sort. I’d pay good money for it. Make it so very nice that some meat eaters have it occasionally, just because it’s so nice and tasty 😋 👍

Nice place but food was ok and service was good

Ordered via the app and paid too. Went through the drive through and the extremely rude drive through attendant at the first window then said I hadn’t paid and asked me to pay again. After I showed him that I had in fact paid (in their app and on my banking), he then said well it not on my system so you’ll need to pay again, needless to say I was charged twice. He wasn’t wearing a badge and refused to give me his name. Sheer incompetence.

Foot was piping hot.. speed of service was reasonable. Large carpark with an electric charging facility. Only negative, no serviettes in the bag.

Not very good, really. No receipt from the self-service, no sauce and cold burger. I would have complained to McDonald's but no receipt.

Did a food pickup from the car park - so I really can't comment on the atmosphere- but looked like people inside were enjoying it?

Great service as always from these guys. Only thing is mcdonalds used to be cheap food, not anymore, only a treat now. Hate cardboard straws with milkshakes. You need more order screens and space the bloody things out.

Rude manager. Clearly something happened outside work, miserable horrible person would never ever order from here again any other mcdonalds would of sorted my order out the manager from nights would sort your order out. This woman just has a power trip.

Decorating has changed. I don't like the new Decorating and type of service.

It's an ideal stop off for a quick meal to get you on the road again.

Cold coffee, presumably poured as soon as you order and then after 20 minutes waiting in the queue it’s Stone cold.

Service is quite poor, very slow through the drive through takes ages for them to take payment and sort food.

It’s always busy when we visit this McDonald’s, but the speed of service is brilliant. We met a lovely gentleman working today called Rob who was very accommodating.

I take fillet o fish with meal. But fillet and chips was over cooked. Taste was very bad like bitter. Not worth the money. Want to back my money.

I got a tea they don’t give u milk have to go back up to ask had pancakes and they didn’t put syrup with it couldn’t be bothered to go up and ask about the second thing that they didn’t give me my friend had Fanta it didn’t taste right had no flavour so he took it back they said have something else wouldn’t recommend this McDonald’s

No choice of what to eat, everything seemed to be unavailable :-( Had the last two wrap of the day (Crispy) Still good value for a quick meal !

Roydon back from legoland.Didnt have tasty meals.Floor loads of mistake drinks.To many served, piled on side but no one taking them.Issues with coffee machine.No sauce dispenser.Machines not sending out receipts for food orders.3 talking suppose to be cleaning the restaurant the cleaning was horrid, floor was terrible.Manager left to fix coffee machine from doing the food order so short staffed.

There is no dine in option when ordering at the machine. Wifi is unreliable and asks too much personal data to connect. Their official app is slow, and they ask to log in each time. The whole experience is really annoying. Do not visit.

We ordered 2 meals, one of them was a triple cheese burger without pickles but we received a triple cheese burger with pickles and also the fries came without salt which was unexpected and one of the drinks which we ordered was coke but we received cherry coke, it was 3.15am and there was nobody in the queue,So please recruit some professionals and look into this Thank you!

12 minutes for a cold porridge and a cup of tea. Seems too long.

Probably the best McD experienced. Food quality good, service fine (drive thru a bit slow but hardly the worst). Good location and easily accessible. Recommended.

Busy when I was there but staff very organised and keeping queuing and waiting toa minimum. Food was as you would expect from a good mcD.

Vert friendly staff and good service

Service is good but getting into the place very chaotic. Cars & vans coming in and out all over the place and very confusing.

Slick-back-hair cleaner guy and bingo-caller man at the counter are cool people.

The place was very busy, but the team worked very hard and efficiently, providing the food ordered, assisting customers in finding tables to sit at and cleaning. Team work was very impressive.

My partner and I were both fined £50 for staying 13 minutes too long in the carpark!! (In McDonald's, Royston, Hertfordshire, rural area on the A505) We won't be going again, nor to any other McDonald's. We complained that they don't give enough time to enjoy your meal and received a cop out answer about them needing enough parking for all customers. McDonald's have lost two life long customers. Utterly disgusted with them.

We tried the mc rib, and it was awful!! Me, my husband and my son were very ill.

Very slow service,had to wait 45 minutes. Food and coffee awful.

Why, in a fast food restaurant, are they so slow that customers are forced to park up and wait 10 minutes or more food to be delivered - not good enough.

We had just driven up from the south coast and stopped and ordered two hot drinks. We waited 20 minutes although the drinks had been made but just left on the side to go cold. Complained and asked for fresh ones, don't know if the girl sniffed or spat in one of them but didn't drink it. They prioritise drive thru while leaving customers inside to wait unless you know them. The place has gone down hill

Sitting here today so busy that sitting on car waiting to bring out takeaway. Why don't they just stop the drive through for an hour to catch up. Been waiting on car park 20 mins still not here. Shambles. Updated waited 45mins. No food. Went in got a refund. Could not cope today Update 22/10/24 Seems they never take the points on the QR code before ordering. 4th time in a row. This time got drinks wrong. Oh well. The mc rib is awful. Would give this location overall 2/5.

I tried the new ribs Mac and it tasted awful. No surprise wasn't on the menu.

Couldn't order a double big Mac as they're unavailable..... But could order a standard big Mac.... When asked the woman if they had stuff to make normal big macs surely they have stuff to make a double... It's literally is just 2 extra patties surely?? But no sorry we can't do that 🤷🏼‍♀️ confused me!

Food serves quickly. The parking lot has plenty of free spaces.

As far as McDonald's go I would give this more a miss, ordered was simple mcrib meal and a quarter pounder with an apple pie. The parking lot was 1/2 so not terribly busy. They had us park up and wait, when the food arrived the fries were lukewarm, limp, and lacking any salt. The mcrib was ok for the fact there was a distinct lack of barbecue sauce. This after the last time I was at this McDonald's i ordered a mcspicy which was burnt dry and cold, quite a bit of a trick. At least the quarter pounder and apple pie was ok. On the whole I would say i wasted my time and money for unfast food

Rarely get an order correct. Double check everything as there is literally no end to the incompetence. They’ll forget half the order, try and get it right and screw it up again. Absolutely awful. Repeatedly. The only positive is the nice guy that used to be mayor works there, and he’s awesome.

Food was stone cold, so much so his entrance music started playing. Staff were unhelpful and rude, would of got a better feed from a food bank or the bin outside burger king.

Ordering screen was not working. Gents had a very wet floor.

This McDonald's is actually the best one I have ever been to. The staff actually walk round asking if your food was correct and ok. They are cleaning everything all the time. It was brilliant

Would be amazing if McDonald's UK got with the times and offered a gluten-free option/alternative, like it does all over Europe?!

What can I say? McDonald's is McDonald's, no matter where you are in the world. I'm not a fan of fast food. I went here as there was no other place to go late at night. Although driving into the car park leading to the Drive Thru, I thought the place was closed. This being the early hours of Sunday. I approached the order point and waited several minutes to no answer. I drove to the first window, the room was empty. Drove to the second window, there was a chap cleaning the floor. I was about to knock on the window, when another chap came round from the kitchen, opened the window and asked "Can I help you"? I replied I would like a cheeseburger meal and a large tea please. He said I needed to go back to the other window to take the order. Luckily, there was no other vehicle behind, so I reversed back to the other window. He took my order, then said I couldn't have the meal unless I ordered a drink. I said, "What is a cup of tea if it isn't a drink?" What he should have said was I could only have the meal with a soft drink. I didn't want a soft drink. The only way around this automated system was to input the items individually and not as a meal. After almost giving up the will to live, I finally got what I ordered in a roundabout way. The food was as expected, the tea was terrible. I don't know what brand of teabags McDonald's use. There was no flavour whatsoever. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Been a few times. Drive thru is very quick. But eat in is very slow and not enough order screens for the amount of people in there. Friendly enough staff though.

Can't believe they don't do sachets of mayonnaise anymore. Mc chicken burger not as good as it use to be burger seems a lot smaller

Service was appalling no one new what they was doing . I went through drive through for given wrong order so had to come in and speak to someone who wasn't that helpful. She could of sorted it her self but instead asks a manger . Staff are incompetent and just stand there looking at you bluntly

Best service in a McDonald's ever - friendly staff who keep the place clean and tidy and are approachable and willing to help. Rob was especially kind and helpful.

Chips were under cooked and coke was flat. It's not rocket science, after 50 years I would expect that they should have figured this stuff out by now...

Never all have products available 😪 and sometimes have forgotten parts off the order. Poor quality fries always soggy.

New manager,lovely bloke,heard him praise his staff out loud,assured them they were doing great.We had a big order he bagged it 2 meals to a bag so it was easy to check ! Brilliant service

this branch of mcdonalds is out of ice 75% of the time and when they do have ice the staff only put a tiny amount in and then get angry when you ask for more. sort it out guys having ice shouldn't be so difficult.

Automated ordering get number a que up wierd system orders taken after mine served before plus the system automatically assumes eating in not take out. Don't expect a hot meal the only part of mine was the coffee rest was barely warm one thing I have noticed is that the quality varies from each franchise

Stopped by for a caffeine boost following a 3.5hr drive from Bournemouth. Can't complain at convenience of Maccy Ds, prices or range of options.

Great breakfast and they had milkshakes. If they had no milkshakes they would be rated 1 star as milkshakes is all it takes to make customers happy.

Ordered a sweet chili crispy chicken wrap & fries to go for my journey. A young male teenager packaged my order & clearly didn't notice that the fries were half cooked & sloppy, the wrap had 2 different chicken fillings! Unexpected surprise to find BBQ & bacon added to the sweet chili chicken. Not so tasty! Was several miles down the motorway when I discovered this, so binned the whole meal. Absolutely gross 😖

It's McDonald's. Slightly busy so it's unfair to judge them on holiday time. The staff were nice but busy. One of the toilets had clearly been blocked for a while, which was not too pleasant. Not really worth rating as they are just quick journey lunch fixes. You know what your getting.

Had the best McDonald's experience ever! The Big Mac was so perfectly stacked, it belonged in a museum. The fries were golden and crispy, like tiny edible trophies, and the McFlurry was a cup of pure joy. If fast food were a sport, McDonald's just won gold. Highly recommend!

I didn't understand the server on the tannoy. Thinking it was me, I asked my daughter, who also didn't understand. Queued for about 5 minutes at the drive through. Order was correct, food was good. Also used the toilets, which were surprisingly clean.
