McDonald's in North Hertfordshire

Would be amazing if McDonald's UK got with the times and offered a gluten-free option/alternative, like it does all over Europe?!

What can I say? McDonald's is McDonald's, no matter where you are in the world. I'm not a fan of fast food. I went here as there was no other place to go late at night. Although driving into the car park leading to the Drive Thru, I thought the place was closed. This being the early hours of Sunday. I approached the order point and waited several minutes to no answer. I drove to the first window, the room was empty. Drove to the second window, there was a chap cleaning the floor. I was about to knock on the window, when another chap came round from the kitchen, opened the window and asked "Can I help you"? I replied I would like a cheeseburger meal and a large tea please. He said I needed to go back to the other window to take the order. Luckily, there was no other vehicle behind, so I reversed back to the other window. He took my order, then said I couldn't have the meal unless I ordered a drink. I said, "What is a cup of tea if it isn't a drink?" What he should have said was I could only have the meal with a soft drink. I didn't want a soft drink. The only way around this automated system was to input the items individually and not as a meal. After almost giving up the will to live, I finally got what I ordered in a roundabout way. The food was as expected, the tea was terrible. I don't know what brand of teabags McDonald's use. There was no flavour whatsoever. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Been a few times. Drive thru is very quick. But eat in is very slow and not enough order screens for the amount of people in there. Friendly enough staff though.

Can't believe they don't do sachets of mayonnaise anymore. Mc chicken burger not as good as it use to be burger seems a lot smaller

My favourite McDonald's is easy parking and great staff.

Service was appalling no one new what they was doing . I went through drive through for given wrong order so had to come in and speak to someone who wasn't that helpful. She could of sorted it her self but instead asks a manger . Staff are incompetent and just stand there looking at you bluntly

Chips were under cooked and coke was flat. It's not rocket science, after 50 years I would expect that they should have figured this stuff out by now...

Best service in a McDonald's ever - friendly staff who keep the place clean and tidy and are approachable and willing to help. Rob was especially kind and helpful.

Never all have products available 😪 and sometimes have forgotten parts off the order. Poor quality fries always soggy.

New manager,lovely bloke,heard him praise his staff out loud,assured them they were doing great.We had a big order he bagged it 2 meals to a bag so it was easy to check ! Brilliant service

this branch of mcdonalds is out of ice 75% of the time and when they do have ice the staff only put a tiny amount in and then get angry when you ask for more. sort it out guys having ice shouldn't be so difficult.

Automated ordering get number a que up wierd system orders taken after mine served before plus the system automatically assumes eating in not take out. Don't expect a hot meal the only part of mine was the coffee rest was barely warm one thing I have noticed is that the quality varies from each franchise

Stopped by for a caffeine boost following a 3.5hr drive from Bournemouth. Can't complain at convenience of Maccy Ds, prices or range of options.

Plastic food, soggy chips, slow service and collapsing straws.

Great breakfast and they had milkshakes. If they had no milkshakes they would be rated 1 star as milkshakes is all it takes to make customers happy.

Ordered a sweet chili crispy chicken wrap & fries to go for my journey. A young male teenager packaged my order & clearly didn't notice that the fries were half cooked & sloppy, the wrap had 2 different chicken fillings! Unexpected surprise to find BBQ & bacon added to the sweet chili chicken. Not so tasty! Was several miles down the motorway when I discovered this, so binned the whole meal. Absolutely gross 😖

One of the nicer macdonalds. Food was really good and very friendly staff.

It's McDonald's. Slightly busy so it's unfair to judge them on holiday time. The staff were nice but busy. One of the toilets had clearly been blocked for a while, which was not too pleasant. Not really worth rating as they are just quick journey lunch fixes. You know what your getting.

It's a McDonald's with a large carpark,car charger's & a drive through. Everything you need for a pit stop.

Had the best McDonald's experience ever! The Big Mac was so perfectly stacked, it belonged in a museum. The fries were golden and crispy, like tiny edible trophies, and the McFlurry was a cup of pure joy. If fast food were a sport, McDonald's just won gold. Highly recommend!

I didn't understand the server on the tannoy. Thinking it was me, I asked my daughter, who also didn't understand. Queued for about 5 minutes at the drive through. Order was correct, food was good. Also used the toilets, which were surprisingly clean.

It's a very nice building that I can see is clean. One of the staff members made me smile because my friend and I went there and he came up to us and asked where we had been. He was very friendly, making us feel very welcome. It was one of the warmest welcomes I have ever had. The food was also nice with no mistakes, and it was prepared quickly. I am happy with my experience.

They're typically the same. But the service here was actually fast, accurate, and friendly.

Visited 01/07/24: quick service and polite staff. The order was correct and sauces given. The chips were not fresh but still warm and the burger was decent. Not the best maccies I’ve ever had but definitely not the worst.

Food to of date, wasted time getting a refund.

It a fast food restaurant everyone knows, but without the fast.

This is probably the only McDonald's nearby because there are so many people that there is a queue outside

Always stop here on our way to Norwich. Fries are always hot and salted. And nuggets are fresh, never had an order wrong.

REALLY CLEAN the most important thing

They always have missing options. Every time.

Ordered for collection, gave us medium fries NOT large. Wrap was asked to have no sauce, sauce was in it. Asked for various dips with the sides, not received. Fries were also brown coloured (the oil obviously needs changing) - I get it may be busy sometimes, but the staff need to learn to read

Meh, getting Lees food for more money, long waits, miserable staff

Hands down the slowest, most unorganised McDonald's I've ever been to, we waited 36 minutes for a breakfast, the total lack of organisation by management is the problem. I'm watching people jump to different stations, make 10 orders drinks 25 mins before the orders are ready, absolutely dreadful.

GPS diverted us off the M25 and eventually ended up on the A505. We saw the golden arches, and we couldn't resist. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and staff very helpful. Food came out hot and fresh.

Really bad service we ordered the food they gave soggy chips and cold burgers and rang them the lady who answered the she was really rude.

A pleasant surprise! Clean, friendly and helpful. The gentleman front of house was helpful and appeared to be steering the ship. All good, how it should be done!

Terrible place, never get the order right always over charge and always have to wait ages! There are a couple of more mature workers in the restaurant who are great but otherwise it's terrible and definitely not cheap any more!

You need to introduce your European menu that includes Vegan and Glutton free meals. ( oh and beer )

Late night drive through to order a cappuccino at 2 am. The staff were friendly and quick. The quality was good.

We stopped in on the way past and I am very pleased with the service and food we received. Was brung out very quickly, the food was very well cooked and hot! Which is very rare for McDonald’s in general. A lovely gentleman named rob was very kind and welcoming to everyone. Making sure food was all okay, made sure the place was very tidy and well kept. Thank you ☺️

Quick in and out for a travelling snack

It’s a McDonald’s so atmosphere is quite depressing. The Drive Thru staff offer mixed service, some are quite friendly but not always.

I have eaten at McDonald’s in almost 10 countries and never have I ever had fast food service this good! ❤️ I don’t know if I’ve ever had someone ask if I was enjoying my meal at McDonald’s before, super friendly staff 11/10 I’ve had less friendly service in London restaurants that have an additional service charge.

No help yourself to Tomato or BBQ sauce at this place. Apparently last 4 years. No one asked if we wanted any sauces. Two of us, both with burgers etc .. I asked and was given 1 of each between the two of us.

Usual high standards from a McDonald's and transfriendly. One small issue was a strong draft whenever the front door and toilet door were open at the same time. This combined with only a few tables available with removable seats for wheelchair use made the visit not as enjoyable for my elderly mother as normal.

Very popular Mcdonalds. We order through the app and pick up at the drive through. Food consistently good, always freshly cooked and hot.

Never have a Big Mac - always ask us to wait - like every time - the only McDonald’s to run out of Big Mac buns ! Actually 3 burgers of the menu today 🧘🏻‍♀️ this is a monthly treat & disappointment

Would like to say a massive thank you to Rob, who seems to be the host, made us feel very welcome, asked us how our food was and even brought over papers and crayons for the kids. Very lovely personality, stopped for a chat which was nice definitely the best service I've ever had from McDonalds

First visit here ...intending on lunch .....arrived 10:45 hrs so 15 mins to wait before Order Points changed menus. Was waiting outside ,member of staff passing by said Hello ....THATS very rare at a MaccyD. Ordered at 1100...was four orders before ours ,was getting busy but prob only about a 10 minute wait . Same member of staff as earlier had stopped by our table ensured everything was in order and if any extra sauces, napkins were required ,he'd get it for us ....errrr PROPPA customer service ..and...the order was correct and hot and tasty . All round very pleasant visit

Me and my family came to McDonald’s to eat a nice family meal in the restaurant stress free. My 2 kids are slow eaters and took more than an hour to eat their happy meals. Between driving in and leaving the car park we had been there for 107 minutes which got us a £100 fine. Thanks for making us not feel welcome and turning a nice day into a nightmare! It’s clearly better to eat whilst driving, it’s certainly cheaper!

Food was piping hot, the double quarter pounder with cheese was just the tastiest burger I've ever had at any McDonald's. Full.of flavour. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Food reliably good and we had a plant burger for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised! Big disappointment that the fizzy drinks machine was broken and we had a can of diet Coca Cola and it was horrible! My wife went back in to return it and we couldn't believe they charge £1.70 for a can of drink that was part of a multi pack! I bet that only costs them about 10p? What an incredible Mark up! 🙄😠

Rob is amazing and keeps this place to clean and orderly. The staff were so fast and polite and I really appreciated their table service. Truly an elite McDonalds I look forward to visiting again!!!

Very busy place takes a while to get food but nice when you get it.

As a majority, the service and food is good. Sometimes I’ve had food missing but can’t complain as didn’t offer opportunity to rectify.

Never went there! Why do they think I did

Royston McDonald is the worst McD I have been to. There is always a problem. Everyone is usually told to park in the car park whilst 3-4 poor runners come out and bring your order ( usually one at a time) the order is wrong or you wait until someone asks you what you want ( which happened to me today . 2 people got served before I was asked) . Oh and never no milkshakes !

I ordered a double cheeseburger and received it with one patty, it's very sad because I already left McDonald's and I can't return it. I paid for a double and got a regular one, it's disappointing...

McD in UK is not my favourite. Fries taste like cold salty jellies, burgers taste worse than in other parts of Europe, wraps were half empty, the only good thing was a mozzarella sticks set. Unfortunately it's a problem in all UK. Otherwise, staff is nice and place is kept clean.

My donut had no sugar and it was bad would of ordered a burger with no meat if I wanted bread

This place is hella busy, they messed up our sauces

we arrived at 00:10 thinking it was 24 hours, as we pull up to the kiosk to order they tell us it’s a system update and will take 45 minutes so cannot take our order. there was no warning or anything to let us know about this. we have been up since 7am and driving for 5 hours.

It was McDonalds. What more to say?
