Dry hard chips, please can you wrap the chicken and chips separate as it’s always freezing cold

Sadly was cold so I had to reheat it’s not the first my food arrived cold although on time !!!

The food was hot and great value for money.

Overall it was fine fruit shoot was missing from order but other than that it was fine would have ordered from the mr chippy app but I can’t get it to work for delivery

Rubbish! Reheated crap! Tried them again after a couple of years, still no better, just more expensive. Don’t bother

Great quick delivery and just in time for me to enjoy great freshly cooked fish and chips.

Have been using this place for years, but three times in a row now parts of our order have been left out. We shouldn't have to unpack an order in the shop in order to make sure it's all there. It's basic incompetence and it's extremely frustrating. What is the point of takeaway if you have to drive back to the shop to pick up someone's meal while your chips get cold at home?

Got 2 pcs chicken and chips from here, the girl serving gave me the meal, I go and when I open it’s 2 pcs of thighs and they were absolutely disgusting and I had to throw them away , nobody likes thigh pieces why would you put 2 of them , and taste bad too, she should have asked what pieces would you like. Disappointing. 2 stars because chips were ok.

Food is ok but Jesus Christ! The staffs in there look like they hate their jobs! All the young staff in there seem so thick and unbothered! Slow and don’t approach you even while you’re queuing! You have to ask if they would like to serve you. They stood there chatting amongst themselves. Absolute joke. Btw the shop was empty at this point! So it wasn’t even like it’s busy. Not my first time getting bare minimum service from these people

First time eating here and won’t be the last! Lovely packaging and super speedy delivery, food still hot on arrival. Great quality fish and chips, and delicious sausage. Very thankful there’s a good chippy in Royston!

I can only comment on the haddock and burger and chips , its our favourite place for our saturday take out every week

Not that fish & chips I would ever eat unless I am by seaside, but waiting for my son at Royston train station, Sunday night, must I eat now before it's too late for night, there I made in to fish and chips, & got confirm why I don't like fish and chips, a shop sels fish and no option for fresh lemon deserve to shut down 😏. Have eating half eating half throwing away. Chips dry, fish as little as my pink finger. Never again for little while anywhere unless it's by seaside and with option of fresh lemon!

I had a schedule delivery time, was late and then was the completely wrong order. People on the phone were no help either!!

I got ice cream not sorbet and I’m dairy free still charged me if you haven’t got it don’t put other in its place and the chips were cold and stale Chicken couldn’t fault it well cooked thank you

Popped in to get some dinner tonight, the girl serving behind the counter with pink hair clearly didn't want to be there & had no respect for the guy working in there behind the fryer from her body language & attitude towards him was appalling No smile, abrupt & virtually threw the bag on the counter when the food was ready. I would have said something to the guy there but as she clearly has no respect for him there was no point in causing an issue for him, I will contact head office.

The Fish and Chips are top notch but expensive, almost coming to restaurant prices for a takeaway meal. Since COVID there has been a shift in service levels with the main focus appearing to be preparing online orders. Update Sept 2024. I've started using shop again, the food is still excellent and I'm pleased to say the service has improved considerably. Ordered a large family meal tonight, in and out in just over ten minutes (ordered scampi which was cooked to order). Very good fish and chips shop.

Ordered 3 piece chicken and chips. The chicken was disappointing, fatty with little edible meat, kfc would have been better, chips ok. Small portions, won’t be returning.

So just ordered from fish n chick. Rock solid savoloy, runny curry sauce and one of the staff there cleaning the chip fryer was extremely rude. Will not be coming here again.

Not the biggest portions, seems to have got smaller over the last year. Hot and fresh. Would recommend but has local competition close by which might edge it for me. 🍟🐟🍗

Lovely fish and chips piping hot

The food was delivered in the estimated time but over an hour to wait is too long. The pie was atrocious - top was stale, bottom was soggy and the filling was bland with very little chicken. Everything was warm but not hot. Disappointing.

Okay. The chip portion was very small for £4+. The gherkin was the smallest we have ever gotten. Not overly great compared to other experiences.

I popped in and was asked if I’d minding waiting for the chips to cook - no problem. Ordered a couple of saveloys and chips and some southern fried chicken. Chips were ok, saveloys hadn’t been microwaved for long enough as they were like rocks and cold in the middle. 2 out of the 3 chicken pieces were not fresh. Hard coating and dried out chicken. The fresh piece that was juicy and noticeabley just cooked was quite fatty. I tried to call through to let them know so other customers weren’t affected however the phone just rang out and then dropped the line.

Chips were lovely, very clean and the people treated us like we were local.

It's not actually possible to get a fish supper as they sell everything separately! A crazy policy which means you have double the packaging and things go colder quickly. I could not recommend this chip shop at all.

Shocking service more interested in talking about when they want to shut rather than serving customers went I at 19.00 and they don’t shut until 21.00 plus when I got the food home the fish had stuck to the paper so all the batter had come away from the fish absolutely shocking service will never go there again

First time ordering delivery from here. Even though order arrived early, food was only warm and not hot, and they gave me the wrong Coke in the bag. Definitely go there and get it yourself rather than order delivery.

ordered early,fod arrived very late was waiting for over half hour tried to call to chase up but no answer, eventually got a call back to say food be here withing a few mins, on arrival food was stone cold

The food was cold, I spoke to the driver and he put his bare hand directly onto my food, the shop staff were very helpful and the food was good it’s just a shame I couldn’t eat much as it had been touched by someone else

I got a parmo, was tasty, chips were decent and the staff were chatty and friendly. Place looked clean and everything is cooked fresh in front of you.

The food was hot and tasty but the service wasn't great and they had stopped making anything new 30 minutes before closing.

Convenience outweighs quality. The food was delivered long before the expected time which was great. But some of the food was inedible. The portion sizes were poor for the price. Quality of the order in general was a low standard. Again, we picked this because they delivered.

Thought I'd try the pie and it was terrible. Crust was odd, not flaky pastry, hard on the side, top came off without moving the pie. Top was hard not very nice crust and filling wasn't nice either.

Look it's a good fish and chip shop when it's busy, however, far too many times you get it home nd always disappointed. The batter has completely changed to the point you ask for a fresh bit of fish, they put into the batter and literally wipe it off so it's this funny thin layer of batter. For the price point the quality should be much better. Chips also have somehow changed, not sure if it's the potatoes or temperature of the oil but they are extremely bland, very pale, and just awful. From a good reputation 10 years ago to now, I think this is far beyond what it used to be. Try master fryer up the road or have a Chinese, Pizza, Indian, or kebab.

We ordered for delivery and it took half an hour to arrive - very speedy! Food was hot when it arrived and tasted good. Only downside is it's a bit more expensive than other fish and chippies.

My order arrived at 6.15 but i can see from my receipt that my order left the shop at 5.30. as you can appreciate, this is 45 minutes so when my order arrived, it was cold! i was very disappointed and will not order from you again.

I visited the shop recently and ordered Chips, Onion rings and curry sauce. Service was very friendly & my order was ready upon arrival (I pre ordered). Cannot fault the food at all. All food was lovely and fresh and I'm happy with the price I paid. Will definitely return, thank you! 🙂

The fish and chips here are not the best. However, it is served hot and the cod is crispy. It should not worth 3.8 stars only, so I am giving 5 stars to push up the rating.

10.95 for a regular cod and chips and it was the smallest portion of fish and chips I have ever seen. 1 star because it tasted good, 1 star because it was delivered on time, -3 stars for it being an absolute rip off.

Was meant to get a burger with brioche bun but it can with seeded bun which I'm allergic to, please remember theres people out there with sesame allergy so give whats advertised!

Perhaps I arrived too late at 9.30pm but the cod batter was very greasy as it had not been properly drained. The chips were soggy and luke warm, having been cooked some time beforehand. It's not worth nearly £13. Very disappointing.

The fish and chips were excellent quality and very tasty. Due to the long arrival time the chips were quite cold when they arrived. Otherwise great - fish was excellent quality.

Great chippy. Even did me a battered savaloy!! Not cheap but decent food.

The amount of chips with a large cod & chips was disappointing and the portion size of the mushy peas for £2.65 was disgraceful! 2 spoonfuls of peas was all! Not going again
