McDonald's in Midlothian

Orders always take ages, whether Drive-Thru or collection, fries always under-cooked, and milkshake machine rarely switched on. Too much emphasis given to delivery drivers.

Frim this Mcadonalds, I have a had more meals that are disappointing with service as variable as the weather. There is never any flavoured milk available and coffees and hot chocolates are very watery.

The worst McDonald's in Scotland. Not once have I had a full, correct order from here. 9/10 times the food is lukewarm at best.

Service very slow lots of teens upstairs swearing making a mess

I order for 2 people maximum. They forget something 80% of the time. Embarrassing.

Awful! We ordered food from somewhere else at the same time we went through the drive through. It was ordered, cooked and delivered to our house before we received a McPlant meal, and mozzarella sticks. My daughter's Mcflurry had completely melted by the time we got home! And they forgot the dip for the mozzarella sticks. Overall an extremely disappointing experience

Always items missing on delivery and drive through. Ordered 2hrs and still waiting for delivery. Was told over the phone they were busy and weren't able to give an ETA, even after waiting 1.30hr... defeats the purpose of fast food...

Absolutely ridiculous. Every single time I place an order half is missing, or completely wrong. Barely get compensated for a half meal. Dalkeith store needs to be seriously looked at. If it wasn’t for the kids wanting it I would genuinely never touch the place.

Terrible. This McDonalds is incredible slow. We waited 20 minutes for 2 drinks and again today we have waited over 30 minutes for food. Believe the Manager is Isaac, hopeless. This is a busy McDonalds but it’s meant to be fast food! If I wanted to wait this long I would go for dinner.

Garden green McDonald's has been consistently the worst branch in Midlothian for years, staff are rude to customers and drivers. Items are missing and food is cold. The manager from Cameron toll should be placed here for month to get the place on order it's a disgrace.

I honestly don’t know why I ever come here. The service is worse every time I come, the food is naff as ever, and it takes forever to get your order. Went for a coffee the other day, after 8 minutes of watching drinks pile up at the service counter I went and chased it. It had been sitting there about 5 minutes… To meet service targets they regularly mark orders as complete when they’re not, so they then get forgotten about - exactly what happened with my coffee! There’s not many alternatives, but it’s worth travelling to one of them.

This is no accident when someone continues to add sauce and garnish to this very burnt cheeseburger

Yet another McDelivery order where the they have missed off order items....but did come this time when they said it would. Regularly don't have milkshakes!

Ordered food at 5pm food arrived to us at 6 30pm completely cold,only warm items we had was our drinks.

Chips freezing, half food missing,chicken nuggets in bottom of bag, security guard was checking himself out in the window and singing( do not recommend)

It's really terrible experience, we have to wait for ages in the queue to get the order, the whole management should be removed!

Useless at getting any orders right, we order 4 large fries with meals and none where there, box already opened prior to delivery. Any food that DID get delivered like the nuggets or selects are cold upon arrival. Not good enough

Maximum staff here is nice. Night shift manager elena is nice, fast and well manage positions. She knows how to take output from their team.

This time was good. However with this branch you never get a printed receipt to enable a complaint or other.

Just ordered from mcdelivery, burger missing, can't get through on phone, service support not working

As usual the printers didn't work and there was slight confusion on whose meals were for who. One of the cleaner tidier McDonald's I've been to recently.

Service was slow, food luke warm, if anything it was worse than the last time

Dirty and smelly restaurant, slow service, missed out the sauce, didn't salt the chips. Bad experience, give this place a miss

The burger was cold as were the fries and that was pretty much straight out from the serving hatch. The drink was meant to be sprite zero, but was instead half a cup of carbonated water. McDonald's is average at the best of times but this was a poor quality experience, minus the friendly staff.

I visited here for breakfast a week ago and cancelled my order when told they had no hot drinks available, I tried having lunch here today and was once again told that not only couldn't they supply hot drinks but no milkshakes were available either, I took my custom to Greggs across the road. This McDonald's is the worst I've ever experienced, witless staff run by obviously incompetent management, this place seriously needs a total shake up.

Most unreliable Mcds there is! Open 24hrs a day, but not at night 😀

Waited 25 minutes for food during the quietest hours and got handed burgers that look like they have been put together by Stevie Wonder and then thrown through two world wars. If you're gonna make me wait 25 minutes for two burgers at least take time to make them properly. This is without a doubt the worst McDonald's branch.

Always always forget something in our order and food is always cold

Horrible service, will miss out things from your order and then make you feel like it's your fault. Also from a previous visit the tables are left dirty for ages and the food is disgusting even for McDonald's standards.

Would give this zero stars if I could. They should just shut down the drive though and sitting area. Went for a drive through today at 1020 orderd had waited 20 mins and still no service. Go in to complain and still waited 10 minutes for my 2 breakfast wraps. As I was there I seen they had 30 just eat orders ready on the screen and anyone inside or went through the drive through where getting left to wait. Clearly customers that made the effort to go to the place don't matter. May aswell close it down and make it deliver only

Stopped here on way home from Edinburgh, really nice MacDonalds, staff very helpful, took our food to our seats.

Orderer pancakes and sausage, bacon roll, double sausage egg mcmuffin and received someone else's order as it was delivery, what I got was 6 pancakes with no sausages, no bacon toll, no mcmuffin and dry pancakes, and 2 breakfast wraps which i hate, as per they always forget the syrup, I'm surprised this branch is still operating as this happens with nearly all my orders, yet again poor show, they couldn't put a nut in a monkeys mouth!!

Just wanted to make sure you guys are turning the chip fryers on at the plug before loading any chips? Because every chip I’ve ever had from here tastes like it’s only ever sat in room temperature oil to defrost in. Warmest part of the entire meal was the McFlurry. Caveat - I lied about the McFlurry. The machines always out or order so don’t even bother to ask.

The day this place doesn’t hand you cold food or the wrong order I will win the lottery. You can rebuild the restraunt all you want maybe spend some money training staff how to cook

Truly awful. You don’t expect fine dining from McDonalds. It’s guff at best but the branch at Hardengreen Dalkeith lowers the standard to another level.…. How can you get it so wrong consistently? How can you miss items every time Receive chips stone cold and inedible. Over cook cheese bites. Forget sauces. Unsure on the job advert criteria Must have acne Show no human emotion or care.

Every time I go there, they don’t have milkshakes to be fair they don’t have very much compared to others.

Over 20 minute wait to come home and see 2 meals missing , had to bin as cold.

Just got two mcrispys missing cheese, onions and mayos, and a mcrib missing gherkins. Unseasoned fries Don't often go... Won't be going back hopeless.

Do not recommend... everytime I've been, either the ice cream machines offline... the hit drinks are.. or there is ni milkshakes.... it's an offline roulette, better going to loanhead instead,

AWFUL! milkshake machine is never working Cold food and they park you then forget they have parked you! Stay clear!

If you like cold burgers and cold fries, then this is the place for you, otherwise don't bother.

Worst McDonald's ever for delivery and service absolute disgrace. The attitude of the staff is abominable and they keep taking orders for delivery they can't fulfil but nor can you cancel the order either!!!! Will be avoiding all McDonald's franchises from now on

WORST RUN MCDONALDS IN HISTORY EVERY TIME THERE ARE THINGS MISSING FROM ORDER AND THR FOOD IS ALWAYS STALE COLD. Can’t get an answer on phone either as always busy. Maybe purposely! Do not use I won’t be back as this is the third time this has happened. POOR MANAGEMENT

Go there for coffee through the drive through always say coffee machine not working

Drive through and then had to wait for almost 25 minutes. After that much wait, half the order was missing ( good I checked before heading back) and no apologies. Got out my car, spoke to the manager, no eye contact and no apologies. Really disappointing !!

this store has nothing to do with a McDonalds, it's just a garbage can, the food is cold all the time and the service is of very poor quality.

McDonalds, Hardengreen, Midlothian Ordered 3 large meals, 2 chicken big macs and chicken nuggets plus one sour cream sauce, got home and we got 2 burger meals and thankfully the nugget meal was fine and a garlic sauce instead of the sour cream even though it all come up on display perfectly before buying. Last week nugget meal was fine but large big mac meal (paid for) was a medium. If it wasn't for the 'Friday' treat for my autistic Grandson we wouldn't go, he loves it and looks forward to it but in future it will only be one nugget meal, how can they get things so wrong, previously our large meals were medium when we used takeaway too and after much much much phoning refusing to give up and having to phone head office we were given vouchers and even that was a nightmare and hassle. The staff are lovely but please GET ORDERS RIGHT.

Lovely clean and tidy, but service was awful, it looked like they done lots of deliveries as they kept preparing them for drivers, myself and a few others waited ages to be served, it was until one of their employees told them I was still waiting, there were a few unhappy customers having to wait ages to be served, perhaps they could have someone dedicated to serving people coming in, instead of them concentrating on deliveries

Delivery man asked for a 4 digit PIN number Dosnt have a clue what he was asking for and he was very rude He wouldn’t give me the food I called macdonalds who said he can’t give the food without the number … I hung up disgusted The delivery man returned and said his mistake he just wanted the last 4 digits of my phone number which of Course I could give him but he tried to give me the same order that he he been driving about with for an hour Bad bad on every level

Absolutely sick of this place again missed most of my order can't claim back as it was my points but meant 1 of my family missed out on dinner this will be the last time I order I would give 0 stars if I could

Don't order from here! Every time I order there is items missing! I am fed up going back to pick up missing items. I ordered pick up order and arrived at the restaurant. An error came up on my app so was asked to go inside. No one at the counter to help, I had stood there for 30 minutes before I approached one of the staff. Eventually got my order and found items missing again. I am going to dispute the payment with my bank this time. Never again!

Absolute rubbish. Ordered from JustEat but was missing items. Called up and was told I'd have to come down to collect (completely defeating the purpose of ordering for delivery in the first place!) Was told to get justeat to refund as they were not going to deliver. Also, food we DID receive was absolutely freezing. Most of it went in the bin. Waste of money.

Went to drive thru today gave order clearly paid for the food went to window to collect and it was wrong . I complained and was told it was windy it wasn’t windy . Told to drive round again and place order so I made it very clear without shouting my order again went to pay window tried to explain that I had paid and there was a problem with it being windy , manager came and gave me my money back I asked why he told me I was making fun of his wrkrs . So the kids in the back were punished for their mistake not mine so it’s ok for them not to hear me he spoke softly so I had to ask him to repeat his answer was I was making fun of him and his staff because I couldn’t hear him . He needs more training on how to treat paying customers .

Ordered the 4 burgers and 4 fries deal and only 2 burgers arrived. No sauces for the 9 selects either. Not one to leave a review but having had close to double figures of item missing orders in the last few years, the time has come. The only restaurant in the local area where I can have a conversation with anyone I know about ordering from and it comes with a warning that something will be missing.

Seems to be a problem with management at this establishment, I love McDonald's, I've been to many. I'm always amazed at how well run and efficient they can be, so when there's a badly run place, it stands out to me. The girl got our order wrong twice, god bless her, I don't blame the staff in many cases like this I recognise it's probably a management issue. I don't normally leave negative reviews but waiting over half an hour for a McDonald's since you ordered when it's quiet is crazy. I hope they improve this place as I can see from other reviews it wasn't a one off. I'll have to avoid this place in the meantime until things improve.

Came to have dinner at 10:30. Upstairs seating and part of the downstairs were closed. But the area left for the customer in downstairs were dirty and the tables weren't cleaned. Ideally should be trading in that condition.

I went there I took food but it was cold and took so long to be prepared I also saw driver been waiting for more than half an hour and he was asking for the order me and my bf felt sorry for him as he was nice guy the lady with blonde hair and white shirt was treating the drivers really badly and one of the drivers he asked for drink she said we cant give drivers drink only hot drinks I was so sad for him and she said that they are out of milk? as he had nothing to drink and waited for that long!!

Painfully slow service at night. No urgency from staff in their service.. Took over 20min from being 2 cars away from ordering to getting my order. Drive through display for order not working. Food was bland at best.

Told to park up and wait 10 minuets as they were doing the change over at midnight. They left 7 customers parked outside for an hour and decided to just close for an IT update without letting a single person know. Won't be back shocking service.

Every single order has been wrong and nothing done about it

Burger rubbery, literally one tiny piece of onion and top to it of cold. McFlurry charged for normal given a mini. Chips stone cold. There had been a steady decline over the last few years, coincidentally there prices have increased a lot on the same time.

Got my order wrong and told me on the phone they weren’t gonna redeliver it , changed your tune when I came in though eh , muppets , what chance have you got if you can’t get a simple McDonald’s order right ? Just don’t bother and go on benefits

The order is never correct. I don't leave the premises until I have checked, Everything is correct. The most common mistake is incorrect items on burgers the number of times I ask for no pickles and get a plan burger with nothing on it at all or it has extra pickles.

lovely young staff. always polite and happy to help with a smile. used the drive through. well done on the customer service. many businesses can learn from your young staff. ps food was fab as usual.

Waited over 20 mins for a double cheeseburger meal at click and collect . Had to go in and chase order which was lying on the counter. Chips were freezing cold and not edible. the burgers were like rubber and freezing ( cheese must have been put on when burgers were cold as the cheese hasn't even melted and the milkshake was like water. When I complained to the manager. She wasn't even bothered. Too busy having a laugh with the rest of the school leavers to care.

Awful service and avoid the drive through as they often get orders wrong. Restaurant often dirty with tables not cleaned fast enough.

I was rushing so thought I'd quickly grab a burger in the drive thru, Absolutely nothing quick about this McDonald's Ordered 2 cheeseburger with extra cheese and I was then asked to park around the front to wait on 2 cheeseburgers? Then waited a further 10 minutes around the front.

Every time is something wrong, medium fries looks like half of the portion, Mc chicken has no lettuce, never ever again🙈
