Food took 2 hours. Phone 1hr and 30 mins in and she said the driver is about to leave with it. Phoned again and she hung up on me after a rant about how busy it is tonight with zero empathy. AVOID.

Sadly chips overcooked and omelette overcooked almost hard …. Sorry

Not a fan of leaving bad reviews but… Currently sat feeling sick after eating this food. reading the other horrible reviews…All very true! Swimming in Oil, salty and cold. No refund, just a small credit note for a place I wouldn’t ever eat at again!

absolutely disgusting our meal took ages to be delivered luke warm on arrival ordered singapore (rice) noodles they were the fattest noodles ive ever seen asked for mushrooms to be added there was 2 mushrooms cut in half through the dish hardlt any meat asked for extra spicey the meal had no flavour will never order anything from there again will keep to our usual take away in future

Lateness wasn’t a big issue as we know it’s valentines and it’s busy but the Food was not good chicken was like it had been cooked days ago and reheated. It was a bit like “pigs ears” u give dogs not impressed had to be binned!!! Ham was burnt and just flung on top of the rice where as used to be within, awful special valentines treat!!!!!

Ordered sweet chilli chicken and they sent plain chicken no sauce. Was so disappointed. I couldn't even eat the rice I ordered with it without some sauce as would be dry. Hope the restaurant will be more careful checking orders before they send them.

Once again ordered on line, delivery was 19.13 now 19.45 and still no show… ordered at 18.30 paid by card maybe that’s the problem, if it was cash would have been here on time… we are passed eating now !!!!! Very poor service.

Ordered a mixed meat crispy noodles which cost £9! Noodles were black & burnt! I know it says "crispy" but i dont hink they mean burnt! & How you burn noodles i have no idea! Yeah won't be ordering from here again!

More spicy than normal recently but fresh food, muchie box worth the price judt a shame rice has to be ordered separately

Ordered because we were 15 minutes away said collection was 20 minutes so all good. Order was ready after 8/9 minutes. After we received it and got it home it had clearly been just sitting about the box was soggy and the contents with batter were the same inside and the curry sauce had started to lump…. Most went in the bin. It is the first time I’ve had any issues normally great food

Really really salty and dry again , so sad as used this place for years regularly . But gonna have to go elsewhere as overpowering the pleasure . Shame

Food was just pretty bland! Chips looked like they had been sitting most of the night and the honey chilli chicken was more like just honey. Salt and chilli chicken lacked, well salt an chilli. Disappointing, Expected a lot better.

that was best take-way with chinese food. Ordered for whole family. 1st.Cashew nut chicken-chicken was dry and hard to chew🤦🏼‍♀️ 2nd.Orgered spicy meat I get sweet. frome feve orders quality of food go drasticaly down. Do not what the problem is on the kitchen but will not get back to that restaurant again

When my food arrived the first thing I smelled was cigarette smoke and I thought it was just from the bag but then I started eating my food and it was as if someone had cooked it in cigarette smoke. I had to bin it it was horrific!

I received an email from the Golden Bell on 07 June stating that I’ve had “7 orders placed, 3 more until your free meal”. Since then, I’ve placed a further 5 orders, but have not received the promised free meal. I’ve complained to the shop, and to their agency, ‘Flipdish’, without any success. I’ve been a customer of this place for several years, and am now fed-up trying to get my problem resolved. I feel that their ‘free meal’ promotion is all a con!

Was a bit disappointed that I did not receive the rice with my spicy garlic main.

Duck Pancakes - sauce watered down, pancakes not cooked. Sweet & Sour chicken - sauce watered down and horrid. Prawn crackers were stale. A shame and the food is normally good but tonight horrific

The last few takeaways have been really salty and soooo dry and chewy even !! All my family said the same !! Don’t know what you’ve changed “, But. Food was back to being tasty and excellent , well served and presented x

Absolutely revolting. All you could taste on the shredded beef and chilli sauce was vinegar and it was gloopy. The noodles were disgusting and tasted like muck. Chips were dry and obviously yesterday’s. Rice was all hard. The only decent thing was the prawn crackers will certainly not be back.

Had reservations after last time however on this occasion absolutely amazing thoroughly enjoyed it , driver was chatty and friendly top marks to him and to my food !

Worst Chinese in penicuik. Food is salty, service is rubbish and loyalty scheme is a con, you don't get the credit they promise. They don't respond to complaints or help when they get things wrong . Don't order from here plenty of other good options

2nd Chinese in a row i’ve had now that had been wrong or something isn’t good ordered a box and came with chips instead of rice and there was 3 bits of salt and pepper chilly chicken in it

Food delivered on time and piping hot! Generous portions in both dishes and an adequate portion of rice. Will oder again.

Just as basic as a Chinese meal gets. Spicy chips had zero flavour just cheap oven chips. Both the chicken and beef in different sauces were just stodgy and bland. Won’t bother again after giving it another chance.

Awful experience, food worse than sawdust with onions. Tasteless with half a container for the chop suey. The other meal morel onions than anything else. Never again!

Kung Po was not the usual and had enormous amount of chilli seeds, the mixed veg was literally bean sprouts, a mushroom and onion and was just under 8 pound??

We ordered a delivery at 10pm the order came with all the wrong stuff, tried calling shop but they are not answering.

had Lemon chicken. it was so tough I struggled to get my fork into it. my knife struggled to cut it as well. fairly disappointing.

Chicken so overcooked you could hardly cut it rice was old and prawns on toast were absolutely stinking they were old,not happy with meal and won't be ordering again from golden bell, disgraceful.

The meat was overcooked and dry to the point it was very tough to chew. The meal was poor quality and there was too much salt which was probably an attempt to mask the fact that the food was bad. I haven’t ordered a meal from the Golden Bell I’m years, so I thought I’d just give them a try, but I won’t order from there ever again…disappointed! ☹️

Well I was very disappointed I ordered lemon chicken was wanting it really badly and got it but tasted of nothing and the sweet and sour sauce for the battered chicken tasted of vinegar and was very very runny in all I don’t think I will get that again or be ordering from here again

Mixed meat chow mein was very dry and tasted strange, my husband order was half the size of what we usually get... more like a kids portion.

Probably the worst Chinese take away we have ever had. And after spending over £70 you would think that at least one meal would be ok( maybe that was the meal they never gave us ).

Meal was delivered very quickly and the portions were moŕe than adequate. In fact I have enough left over for tomorrow. The dishes were delicious, tasty and well presented.

This meal was basically ok I guess.For what we received it was very overpriced.I’ve ordered house special chow mein and fried rice all over the UK and I’ve never received such a small portion for the price charged.Also the noodles in the chow mein were super thin which is something I’ve never experienced before and don’t ever want to again! The rice was mushy,not nice.The sesame prawn toast overdone and super greasy as was the batter on the sweet & sour prawns.Not impressed, won’t order again.

The pork balls were overcooked, the beef was very salty and the sweet and sour sauce tasted like washing up liquid! not a great food experience, I've had food there before and it was amazing and this time around it's put me off from ordering again from them.

Over 90 minutes for delivery. Over an hour later that stated time of delivery. I would not have received my order unless I had called. Apparently, ‘just eat’s computer system’ went down!? Must be too difficult to pick up the phone and explain a delay. Just pure incompetency.

food said it was delivered on the app when it hadn't been delivered which was the issue rather than that it being late( as that was only about 8-10 mins ). the food was ok

3rd time I’ve had to complain about their drivers, 3rd time in a row they’ve purposely left my gate open after being asked and seeing a BIG sign on the gate asking them to close it because I have 2 dogs, 1st time my dog got out he was on the main road and had a bad leg after doing so. Tonight we were lucky he came back. It’s not hard to do a simple task but apparently it is. Called up to complain twice n no f’s where given as usual. Don’t care as long as they get money.

My brother and I ordered food, which we’ve done many times before however we put in the wrong address. After requesting that the delivery driver return the food to the restaurant where we would collect Upon return to the restaurant the driver proceeded to become very confrontational and made a point to try and make my brother feel bad because of the mistake and how hard it had made his night then completely blew Off the apology and stormed out. Staff in the restaurant were lovely but I’ll never use again as that driver is employed. There was no excuse for his behaviour

Absolutetly horrid! Everything was cold, tasteless, bland and very salty! The chicken and cheese spring rolls were half the size, burnt and no sign of much filling!! Totally awful and greasy 🤢 Phoned to complain and decided to drive there and return it! Couldn't speak to the chef as the kitchen was "really busy"!!! I'm now waiting for a refund from Just Eat as £40 is a lot of money to waste on disgusting food. No way will order from this place EVER again or recommend to anyone. Stay away!

Food was barely warm, late, partially wrong and small but expensive. Ordered spicy prawn crackers but just gpt plain. The chicken fried rice had less chicken than the very crispy wontons. Not worth the money or the wait

So firstly delivered the wrong food, then when I did get my food, it had been sat in a box for an hour and a half, stone cold and the box had melted into the food because it was dripping wet with either rain water or condensation.

Quality of food was good, but wasn't very warm, had to stick it in the microwave for almost 2 minutes. Delivery was good.

Delicious 🤤 as always, prompt delivery. Delivery staff so nice and friendly and respectful. Food always piping hot and fresh. What's not to love!. Thanks guy's. X

Will never be back. Delivery never turned up and I was accused of lying and trying to con a free meal. If I was trying to steal, I would have ordered more than £10 worth of food. Woman on the counter is scum. Was only replaced after I threatened to come down to the shop with my ring doorbell footage.
